Agumar Hotel - Madrid

Excelente hotel, confortable, prolijo y con muy buen servicio. Bien ubicado, a pocos minutos a pie de las principales atracciones turisticas de Madrid. A 300 metros aprox de la estacion del metro. Hemos estado alojados 4 dias y quedamos super conformes.

Good service, nice spacious and clean rooms. The hotel is within walking distance to the main train station, the taxi costs around 30 Euros from the Madris Airport.

Very good hotel if you want to be near the train station and go to the Prado and Sofia. Clean rooms. The restaurant manager is incredibly rude and abrupt, do not waste your money on the breakfast plan.

Excelent value in Madrid, great internet, great restaurant, great room, very clean and very nice TV and nice selection of channels on TV. Was very happy with this hotel

Everything about the H. Agumar I would rate highly, except that the safe and wireless Internet was additional costs. The hotel was a 15 -- 30 minute into town center, quite near museums, railroad, Retiro Park and in a nice neighborhood. I would return to stay there.

The hotel was very clean and included an excellent and free breakfast (wine and champagne as well). It was very close to the museums, the metro and train stations even though you could walk to any tourist location within 30 minutes . Good location for getting around. It's two long blocks from the train station and metro stop. Buses for main tourist areas just a few feet down the block. Retiro Park in back of hotel. Did not see an ATM within the two blocks. Several small groceries very close. It was nice that breakfast was included.

its a good location, and clean. the breakfast is ok, helpful staff. but the wall is very thin, I could hear everything from the next door, even their mobile phone alarms. TV only have very limited international channels. but for that price, I suppose one can't expect anymore.

This hotel is very well located, near Retiro Park, the Prado and Modern Art museum. It is also a short walk to the Atoche subway stations. Rooms were small, but clean and comfortable. This was a great hotel for our family vacation.

If you're looking for a clean, comfortable and friendly hotel with friendly staff, the Hotel Agumar is a good choice. Very near Retiro Parque and within walking distance of the Prado and other museums, the location works well. Also near Atocha station, a major subway/bus/train station. Our only concern on one night was the thin walls and noise which […] carried into our room. A crying baby...it happens, but the walls are not substantial enough to mask any noises. We still would return to this hotel. The bar was mediocre--sorry, but no character. But there are many places nearby for that experience. Breakfast was a fantastic buffet every morning that got us ready for the day. Mehr

We asked for a quiet room. It was located at the back of the hotel. We were adjacent to the chambermaid's cleaning cupboard, our door was opposite their linen cupboard, the window faced on to a balcony which the chambermaids used as a thoroughfare and slammed fire doors shut each time they passed through. The chambermaids started work at 07.30 each […] morning and spoke loudly to each other directly outside our door. We were totally sleep deprived. Other negatives- 1. The room was roasting. 2.The air-conditioning turned itself off after an hour (not when it reached the correct temperature) so we had to keep switching it on again throughout the night. 3. The aircon was directed straight on to the top of the bed so our heads were freezing while the rest of us was too warm. 4. The bedding smelled of cigarette smoke even though we had a non-smoking room. On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable even if we didn't get to sleep and the hotel is near Atocha train station for getting around. Prado and Thyssen 15 minutes away. Mehr

Brilliant location just next to the Atocha trainstation and the bus service to the airport. However, the hotel was in a rather bad condition considering it's a **** star hotel. I would recommand people to go to NH hotel chain or Zenit chain. Everything inside the hotel as well as the room looked so old - the hotel could really need a revamp. I searched long and hard for a hotel that was reasonably priced, and local to the city centre. The Agumar fits the bill. The hotel is just a short walk from the metro station, and each trip to the centre (SOL is the best station to start with) is only 1 euro! The hotel is very clean and comfortable. I suppose the only downside is you can hear noises […] from the next room to the side or above/ below but this is really a minor point. I didnt use the dining facilities as there was such a choice of bars and restaurants in town but I did ask for the bags to be stored on my last day as my flight was late, and this was not a problem. All in all, this was excellent value. I agree with other peoples comments that this was a four star hotel but was more like a three star, but this is Madrid , as it would be London, and Ive been in some real shocking London hotels!! The room was excellent for the price. The staff were friendly and mostly proficient in English. Everything seems newly upgraded, but it may not be right for light sleepers. We were on the second floor, and road noise was evident. Our bathroom seemed to share a vent with the neighboring room, and it sounded as though the guest next door was in the same […] bathroom with us. If you were in the bathroom at the same time as the neighbor, you would have little doubt as to what the neighbor was doing. The food and drink in the casual restaurant was of adequate quality, but nothing to write home about and quite expensive for what we got. The breakfast buffet was also a little pricey, but the quality and service were excellent. If you eat a big breakfast, it would be worthwhile. It seemed as though the hotel relied on its restaurants and bars to make up for the good prices they offered on the rooms. Overall, a good experience, and we would stay there again. Mehr

I booked this hotel on the internet so thought maybe was taking a bit of a chance as could only go by previous reviews. We found the hotel to be very conviently situated. It was very clean, comfortable and the staff were pleasant, helpful and accommodating. I would definitely return and highy recommend it to others. As I own my own hotel in South Africa […] I am possibly more critical than the usual guest, however could not fault this hotel. I thought it was excellent value for money. Breakfasts were great. Stayed here before, easy to get to hotel by Taxi or Metro. Took 2 taxis due to there was 4 of us with 2 bags each. Paid about $30 eruos with tip each. Metro would have been cheaper but was with my parents and they wanted to take Taxi. Metro usually 1 euro and takes about 25 mintutes from airport. Hotel is in great area near Paseo Del Prado walking […] distance for Prado, Sofia and Thyssen Museums. Retiro Park behind hotel. This hotel was great deal for price, only thing I had issue with was that there is really no shower curtain for shower but this is common in Spain Hotels, so floor does get wet if you are not careful. But Metro stops just about 200 meters away and Train station about 250 meters away. Hotel only has 2 computers but does have wifi for a fee. But there is a local internet shop close to hotel as well as small store for snacks and drinks. Will always try to stay here when doing things in city due to great location. Mehr

The staff were all very courteous, knowledgeable and helpful relative to some problems we had visa- vis my credit cards.

They were very helpful and friendly. Front desk staff spoke English and were always available. Rooms were typical European-style rooms, only complaint is about the wall-mounted, very old hair dryer. I would recommend bringing your own (with the voltage adapter). WiFi was a little expensive at 6 Euros a day, but there are plenty of free WiFi booths throughout […] the city. Breakfast was not worth 15 Euro by any means, but there are many cafes just down the block from the hotel and even a supermarket across the street. There are two pharmacies within walking distance and cute little boutiques. A short walk to the subway station and main train station. Down the block from the Anthropology Museum but a little bit of walk to the Prado and Reina Sophia. Overall, a really good experience and well worth the price. Mehr

The Hotel Agumar is nice and close to the train station. For the price, it was a clean and comfortable place to stay, with excellent daily cleaning service and a good bed. It's a bit of a hike to food and sight seeing, but doable if you're young and energetic.

The hotel was in a great location, very nice, clean and staff very helpful. We arrived quite late, tired and hungry. At checkin the receptionist advised they would keep the kitchen open for us, so that we may go up to our rooms and put our bags away abnd come down and have dinner. If you're looking for a local hotel AWAY from the hustle and bustle of central Madrid, this is your place. Very convenient to the Prado Museum and a lovely park, this hotel has immaculate rooms, though the twin beds were small, but extremely comfortable. Be sure to ask for a street view with a balcony if possible. Water pressure was great, towels were […] abundant. If you like to walk, the Sol area of Madrid is about a $10 Euro ride away or 30 minute walk. Worth it for all the beautiful architecture you will see along the way. Mehr

Great location especially for the price. The room was clean, decent size and extremely comfortable. The beds were twin, but what do you expect, it is Europe; and linens were plush and the bathroom was spacious and clean. It was about a 5 minute walk to the nearest subway and down the street from a grocery store, which is handy when you're eating on […] the cheap. It was about a 10 minute walk from the Museo del Prado and accessible to all the best neighborhoods via subway, bus or just walking. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend. The hotel is a great place for the money. You are within walking distance to the metro and the Madrid Antoche train station. Comfortable, clean, nice sized room with an excellent bathroom.

the bed was extremely narrow and the room was fairly small for the money i paid. The staff was helpful and the neighborhood safe. the metro is 3 blocks away and very easy and safe to use. the el prado museum is a little less than a mile away and several busses go there - either walk or take a bus there as there is no close metro stop

This is a nice hotel within a 10 min walk from the Metro station Atocha Renfe. The rooms as well as the bathroom were clean and nice and the staff was helpful. Comfortable beds with good air conditioning in the room. Free wi-fi not included. You can take the Madrid Vision hop on hop off bus from here, the stop is 10 mins walk from the hotel. Fine hotel located five minutes walk from Atocha Renfe train station. Very strong room air conditioning was a plus!

Very friendly and helpful staff, many of whom spoke English. Convenient restaurant and excellent breakfast.

Close to Aotcha Renfe Station, 2 trains from airport saves 40 euro cab ride. Nice front desk, debs are ok, rooms small. Typical European hotel.

I chose the Hotel Agumar because it is an easy walk to the Madrid Atocha train station. I found I could also easily walk to the Prado and other attractions. Moderately and modestly priced restaurants are readily available in the neighborhood along with banks and a small grocery store. Rooms are somewhat small but very comfortable. The room was clean. The location is close to the Atocha Terminal, but it takes a couple of minutes to go to the city center. Also, the hotel has no free WiFi service. I couldn't use the internet, because the computer in the lobby was broken.

Visste att vi valt et område en bit från centrum, men metro och reinfen transporter fanns nära. Inte dyrt att ta taxi från Gran Via. Konstmuseum inom gångavstånd. De flesta av personalen var väldigt vänliga, alla kunde bra engelska. Frukostbuffén var mycket bra och restaurangens mat var också väldigt bra. Dock var det väldigt lyhört på rummet och man […] kunde höra vad grannarna pratade om. Det fanns inte direkt något matställe precis i kvarteret. 空港リムジンバスの到着駅でもあるアトーチャ駅から徒歩5～７分ほどの立地で、なおかつプラド美術館やソフィア王妃芸術センターにも徒歩圏内です。 駅を中心に周りにはカフェテリアがたくさんありますので、食事やお茶には事欠きませんでした。 ただ、ホテル内でセイフティーボックスの鍵のレンタル代がかかったり、インターネット使用料金が必要だったり不便はありました。

Llegamos al hotel, nos atendieron muy bien en la recepción, subimos a la habitación y nos gustó mucho, una cama amplísima, el baño grande y limpio. Así que la relación calidad-precio está muy bien. Al salir hay parada de autobús en 1 minuto y ambién se llega a Atocha andando unos 10 minutos.
