Stoney Creek Inn - Galena

We were all in agreement that this was an over the top place to spend the nite. Just all of the little things and considerations were noticed and appreciated. Your hotel was recommended by a friend and we will be recommending it also. We will stay again, Thank-you, Mary

I thought I'd hate the hotel b/c it's rated at 2 stars. That rating is VERY misleading! the room was great, bed terrific... very clean room! Pool area is terrific & breakfast was good enough to get the day started on the right foot. We're definitely planning to go back sometime...

The room was nice and big. Only thing didn't care for was the bathroom as small. Also the heater didn't work that great it would throw out cold air not any hot air.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Stoney Creek Inn for our anniversary. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean. And we especially enjoyed the pool and hot tub and spa. The breakfast every morning was also very good. We have stayed at Stoney Creek before and would definitely stay there again. We were absolutely thrilled with our suite! So comfortable and clean. Every staff member we encountered was so kind and helpful. A complete joy to stay at this hotel!

Nicest motel I've stayed in

I felt for what we paid for the room, it wasnt worth the money...I felt is was kinda small compared to some others i have stayed in. The location wasnt really convientent. If u wanted to sight see, you had to drive wherever you wanted to go. I just felt i didnt get what I paid for...I wasnt thrilled at all....The staff and that however, was very accomodating […] and the rest of the hotel was great!! Mehr

This hotel was very nice. The service was prompt and courteous. The breakfast was what most expect for complimentary continental. The pool and hot tub were clean and in good working condition. The room was quiet and comfortable. The bed was a bit firm for my comfort, but generally nice. I will probably stay here again.

Wonderful !!!! We stayed here and before we left our son and his girl friend were married here by one of the staff personnel, whom happened to be a minister( the best ). This wasn't planned, and if it were it could not have been any better. Thank You, Stoney Creek Steve & Rita S.

Perfect hotel. Clean and extremely friendly. About a 2 minute drive to downtown. Will definitely be staying at the Stoney Creek Inn for all my future visits to Galena.

No, I probably will not recommend it because of the hot water issue during our stay. If you were going to shower at high times during the day, we got no hot water or very luke warm water. For that issue alone, it made the stay a little less relaxing.

My wife & I spent the luminaria weekend at the Stony Creek Inn. Perhaps it's different during the summer months but I was impressed with the experienced front desk and breakfast staff. This hotel was in a good location just outside of the downtown. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, but it still had the cozy feel of a little cottage. Breakfast was included, and was pretty decent as far as continental breakfasts go. I wish the workout facility had a little more equipment, since the all-in-one cable machine was not fully functional. […] However, for the price that we paid, I thought that we got a very good value. Would definitely stay here again. Very comfortable and very quiet.

The location of the hotel was ideal for us in serving our purpose for being in the Galena area. The bed was very comfortable. Wish the bathroom was a big larger but I know the age of the hotel was not conducive to the new and modern ways of building hotels now. Would definitely stay here again.

This was a fun place to stay. I especially liked the pool. The water was pleasantly warm.

Rustic atmosphere as in a log cabin but comfortable. Seemed to be near downtown Galena but you have to drive to go out on main street. They make a big hype about the environment and want to "save the planet". But with each breakfast they produce big amounts of plastic trash. Anyway: all in all a good place to stay for a visit to charming Galena.

Comfortable room..."lodge feel' decor....staff very accommodating...they even set me up w/a laptop to use....they did have a problem w/keeping the hot-tub hot, but all else was excelent, including breakfast

We loved the hotel! A great homey feel and the staff was very friendly.

Booked online; said pet friendly, pets allowed. Said nothing about that they charge $25 for your pet w/ a signed contract. Signed in, w/ dog (small) in hand, went up to room, went into shower, the service clerk at the desk came to our room and when we did not answer phone or door because we were in shower, she took it upon herself to walk inside our […] room and call us. We could not believe she just walked in. What if we came out of the bathroom naked? She came to tell me we had to pay and sh/have told her we had a dog. I said I knew nothing of having to disclose my dog, nor did the website state this. It was unprofessionally handled. I didn't hide my dog, I paid the $25, but think this certainly was handled badly. We have stayed at this hotel twice and have had a good experience both times. Breakfast is very good and the staff is helpful. We would recommend this hotel to anyone for their stay in Galena.

The hotel was nice, but there was nothing in the breakfast bar (other than corn flakes) that I was able to eat. Hotels, I think, should be more accomidating to people needs/health conditions.

Clean room. It was better than I expected. The room came with a fire place, jacuzzi and a king size bed. It was more than comfortable. The staff was great and the complimentary breakfast was decent and the 24hr coffee/tea availability was great and convenient. My husband and I had a great relaxing stay at Galena and Stoney Creek had a hand in that.

smoke smell in room. I asked for another room and did get one. In the morning the shower water was just luke warm. Don't know if it was a bad day for them or the usual.

Room smelled musty. The carpet was damp and sticky. There were particles coming out of the air conditioner. The hot tub was cold. The people who worked there were nice.

Stoney Creek was great! The hotel is a short distance (5 min.) from the main street. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, staff was very nice and everything was awesome. I did not use the pool but walked through it and it was fantastic! Complete with a large pool, hot tub, and sauna. We stayed in the wilderness lodge theme suite and it was so cute […] and cozy complete with kitchenette, whirlpool, and fireplace. The complementary breakfast was one of the best that I have had. There was a wide selection of food not just waffels but cheese omlets, sauge patties and french toast too! I will stay again for sure :) Mehr

great stay and location . . . had a ground level room so it would have been nice for the window to have sheers for privacy--had to keep curtains drawn which kept us in the dark, so to speak

The decor was a little bit over the top for me, with the whole Northwoods theme, but I'm sure that it will have its appeal to some. The big gripe that i have is that the rooms we were in had a musty or just plain old smell to them and the window a/c unit in one of the rooms gave it up, forcing us to move which was a pain. The breakfast is/was offered […] until 0930, and when we got there just a little after 9, there was no bacon or sausage, and only a small handful of eggs. Mehr

The location was just an excellent place along the highway & away from all the lower Galena traffic. Had a chance to use the pool & Jacussi & it really helped melt the long day on the farm & heat & humidity. The morning lunch was just what we needed before a day of walking around the main drag of Galena. Nice northern woods action at the pool !

I loved this hotel. The decorations were wilderness & classic golf. I felt very relaxed & comfortable from the 1 step in. The staff were very friendly &warm. The pool/hot tub were very nice too. I will definately stay there when we visit again. I read the reviews before I booked. They were good & bad. I was hesitatent. But definately worth every penny!!!! […] They were wonderful. The best part was opening our room door & being greeted by the cutest stuffed animal on our bed. What a wonderful warm touch. It set the standard. I wanted that personal touch verses the traditional chain hotels that are cold & boring. Great stay! Mehr

I had a great time enjoying the sites and coming back to the hotel to relax in the pool and whirlpool. There was so much to do that I don't think we even turned on the TV more than once! I loved the rustic lodge feel of the hotel and have booked for the next year already. Now, if that's not a recommendation, I don't know what is!
