Aston Lakeland Village Beach & Mountain Resort - South Lake Tahoe

Das Hotel liegt wunderbar am See, aber besteht aus einer Vielzahl separater Lodges, so daß man vom See nichts sieht wenn man in 2., 3., etc Reihe wohnt. Meine Lodge war ziemlich finster und ungemütlich kalt - Heizung konnte ich keine finden. Von den Webseiten-Fotos hatte ich andere Erwartungen.

Super Lage, eigenen strand. gratis computer mit internet, restaurants zu fuss erreichbar. immer wieder gerne. Hatten Zimmer im Hauptgebäude, schlafzimmer mit stube küche, wc, inkl. chemine und 2 flat tv

Das Zimmer war sehr gross. Leider wurde bei der täglichen Zimmerreinigung ein paar Sachen vergessen: Toilettenpapier, Küchentuch und Haushaltspapier. Dieses haben wir jedoch von auf Anfrage rasch erhalten.

I was hoping to be right on the lake but we soon learned that the more bedrooms and, therefore the more expensive the room, the closer to the lake. Hint: 5 bedrooms on the water, 1 bedroom close but not on. Still, a 2minute walk to a private beach on lake Tahoe is pretty good. The room was nice wit all the ameneties like kitchen, stove, fridge and dishwasher […] with dishes. The location is walking distance from some really good restaurants and a supermarket which was nice. The staff was friendly but the one problem we had, wi-fi not working, they were not helpful. They passed the problem on to the IT guy who would be out the next day. When it didnt work the next day they said they would email the manager. We could have changed rooms but didnt want to pack things up so we let it go and went to the lobby where the wi-fi worked fine. All in all i would recommed the Aston Lakeland and would stay there again Mehr

Hotel is in a great location. You feel so lucky to have your own beach area. The big heated pool was very warm so it was a lot of fun to swim in. The shuttle service is awesome. I have to admit the pictures make it look a lot more fancy. Each room has it's own unique furniture so you just don't know what you'll get. GREAT FREE SHUTTLE, KITCHEN, BALCONY, 2 Pools. BUT-Our 1st room had double bed instead of king, outdated microwave and analog tv, and horrible lightly. Staff was helpful with room change. When visiting try to contact the hotel first for better condo assignment. They rooms vary greatly-furniture, lighting, bed size & quality, tvs(digital flatscreen vs […] old analog tvs) because they are individual-privately owned. Great area w/beach and walking trails, loved morning coffee on the balcony...snow the end of April 2012. Towels available at front desk. One issue was housekeeping knocked 3-4 times day, but were not prepared to clean the room, they always said they would come back later. Housekeeping also had lack of understanding ANY ENGLISH, so I would bring an empty shampoo to ask for more. Once I understood the first housekeeping knock was the English-Spanish "translater" checking to see if we needed cleaning-she would then let the person assigned to room know. First couple days was frustrating, I would say sure we are ready for cleaning-they would leave and not come back for hours. BE PREPARED for all WEATHER-80 degrees to snow. Mehr

Get a room on the top floor to mitigate any thundering herd noise from above. Otherwise fun place to stay.

We had a great time and really enjoyed the hotel. My 2 year old loved the playground on the water. The room was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Everything was great. We were very pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and kitchen, and with the warmth of the pool and hot tub in February! Breakfast was good, and the shuttles were very convenient for outbound trips - not always very responsive for pickups (returning to hotel), but worth the wait if nobody wants to have to be the designated […] driver or pay for a cab. South Lake Tahoe is a great place to be if you're planning a ski trip to Tahoe - lots of restaurants and entertainment/casinos very close to the hotel. Mehr

I loved the visit. This place has a very nice lake view townhomes. I had a one bedroom townhome which did not get a lake view but was very good as far as convenience and amenities included.

This is a great place to stay. It is close to shopping yet only a few minutes from the beautiful scenery around the Lake Tahoe area. The staff were very friendly and completely helpful with all our questions. i would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a reasonably priced higher end resort.

Furnishings were old, out-dated and not very comfortable. Beds were lumpy and sunken in. Counter/bar stools were broken or unstable. Bedding was old. Lighting was dim. Lamp shades were old, cracked and dusty. Carpeting was old and didn't appear to be very clean. Windows and doors were very drafty causing the unit to be very cold. The electrical wiring […] obviously needs to be re-done or updated as half of the unit lost power on Sunday morning. The unit was for sale by owner and could be the reason for the lack of attention to the furnishings, maintenance and overall upkeep of the unit. We were just on a getaway and are not skiers but felt bad for the resort and other businesses. The tourism was very low due to no snow. There were very little people in South Lake Tahoe at all. The hotel personal were nice and accomodating. We enjoyed the fireplace and mini-kitchen.

Great location, superb customer service but from my room I could hear everything from the guest above me and from the gym next to me. Next time, I would get a room far from the main building..

I thought the price was a little too high for a 3 star resort/hotel, but since it has kitchen and a decent size living room, it was somewhat worth the money where we could cook most of the time. The lobby and the hallway kind of looking old. The elevator to our suite is very small. Inside the suite looks better, clean and cozy. The size of the one bedroom […] kitchen is decent and it's well maintained. It also has all the utensils that we need. The hotel / resort is very close to the Stateline and Heavenly village area. The staff was very helpful. We stayed in a1 bedroom suite which was a good size for us and our two kids. The kitchen is nice and amply equipped. The interior is a little dated and could use some modernization. Would definitely consider it for any future trips to South Lake […] Tahoe area. Mehr

Overall, this is a very great experience with the hotel. It has shuttle on demand runs from 8-11pm. However, on the first day of staying to findout that the sink upstairs got stuck. So, figure. They didn't provide enough towels for us, (we have 5 people). The staffs there are very nice and friendly.

Rooms are a little out dated, but overall nice enough to come back.

This resort is right by the lake making it a walking destination.Also if you want to the ski resort it it near.they also provide you with a shuttle that takes you around the city or nearby sites for no cost. The only problem i had during my stay was that right when we walked into the townhouse we were being shocked even if we walked normally.

It was like home away from home for our family's Thanksgiving weekend. The Aston's townhouse was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed and was clean. It was close to everything and included a shuttle to the area entertainment and casinos. South Lake Tahoe area's beauty is amazing, and the Aston location right on the lake couldn't […] be better. Even the Paddle boat was operating and was walking distance from our hotel. We definitely enjoyed this place and will stay here again the next time we visit Lake Tahoe, and we hope that it will be sooner than later! Mehr

good location. we stayed in one bedroom with loft and it was big and had everything you need. beach and dock area was very close also. hot tub and pool were hot.

First of all, the price I paid for the hotel was extremely expensive for the quality of the hotel, it was just too much, the bed was ok I admitted it, but as soon as I start checking and using everything I notice that some things were awkward. The coffee machine didn’t have the right coffee filters, the bathroom had hair in the floor, “of course it […] wasn’t my” even the hot tub had hair. We stayed two nights and the last morning we stay there I notice that the coffee maker was dirty. The most that really upset me was that the add on line said that we were going to have continental breakfast included and when I went down stairs I asked the guy at the front desk and he told me that they only do that at the beginning of winter, but he was just like it was something normal, so I went back to my room very upset. Very expensive for the type of hotel it was, very hold, and the cleanness of the hotel was totally unacceptable, I will never go back to the hotel and I won’t recommend it at all. Mehr

Midweek/offseason we were virtually the only guests! We had the hot tub/pool all to ourselves and lovely and quiet. We took our two young kids, staff were very accommodating re: crib etc. Plenty of extra bedding/blankets. Heating in the room was great. A gas fire which warmed the place really well. Kitchen very small and not enough space for the four […] of us to sit for a meal. Convenience of full kitchen was good with all pots/pans etc. Safeway/CVS just a short walk away....very good. The only thing people should know is that this is not your typical Hotel style accommodation - our apartment (a 2 BR loft style) was privately owned - and therefore the decor was a little strange! Lots of bears/moose etc and although reasonable tasteful not like in the hotel pics. I guess it is a managed apartment block or timeshare type thing. Daily room service was exceptional and the place was spotless. So all in all a good stay. Desk staff had fab reccomendations for our daily outings - which was appreciated. Mehr

We stayed here for a weekend in Oct '11. The room was clean and very comfortable. The hotel is close to the beach and marina which is excellent as there are a few places to eat here and this makes it very good. The only issue was that we stayed on a weekend which meant that the room upstairs was being used for a party. i have no complaints at all. it was very peaceful. i have plans to go back atleast once a year.

This hotel has great potential but the furnishings were very dated and tired. Looked like it is right on the beach from the pictures but not even close to our section. Road noise in our section close to the office. Look like a nice pool but we didn't use it. Bed was very comfortable. Hallways were very dark. What's not to love? We had a Townhouse, two bedrooms, walk to the lake where chairs awaited us on the sand. There were tables on a lakeside deck for evening enjoyment, snack food and drinks available, and a pier with benches to be "on the lake." Tucked into huge pines, we loved our Townhouse. Great location, nice facility but pretty tired fixtures in the rooms, ESPECIALLY the mattresses. Ours was a double??? and it caved in in the middle. I was fighting to get back to my side all night. Very small and improperly built stairs to the loft...you better be in good shape to climb these stairs ;-) Toilets kept having to be plunged which was not […] that fun. Hallways in lodge were VERY dark and gloomy. Other than that, the outside was kept very nice and it was centrally located to all the sights in South Shore, but not in Casino Row..I don't gamble so this was a plus, but if you do they are 5 minutes away.. This place was far better than we were expecting. The staff was very friendly and helpfull with local advice. The location can't be beat if you want lake front and night life. We don't have kids but saw plenty of families enjoying the same. This said, we never felt surrounded by others due to the size of the property and the number of pools, docks, […] activities to spread the guests out. We didn't have a boat but saw that they're boat friendly. I reviewed previous posts on youtube about this place and still didn't come close to how nice the views are when there. Can't speak for winter visit but I wouldn't stay anywhere else in summer. Mehr

This property is ideally located along the main strip and has a nice beach on-site. The beach gets crowded and if you are not there early, all the seating gets taken so plan on bringing your own chairs. Convenient BBQ pits along beach make for nice day outdoors. We were in the hotel's main building and the rooms are pretty dated. We had the bedroom […] and loft suite and the loft had two twins and mattresses not very comfortable. Rooms could use a little TLC which is why I rate this property as average, otherwise, it would have been right up there. Mehr

First of all, the signs by the road say just "Lakeland Village" so we weren't sure we were at the right place. Happily, we were at the correct hotel. The king bed in the master was incredible. memory foam mattress plus another memory foam topper, I slept so sound I didn't want to get up in the morning! Safeway, CVS, and Tahoe Brewery are nice and close […] by, but "shopping" such as clothes, ski stuff, souvenirs, you'll have to walk about 2 miles. Somewhat outdated decor, but nice to have a full-stocked kitchen. And, except for the hide-a-bed, it was comfortable. Free shuttle was nice, lots of parking, and the location is good....close to the beach, shopping, gondola, and casinos.

Fantastic and comfortable rooms. Easy access to the beach, great food, great connections with other businesses. Great for families, couples, or singles. I can't state often enough how wonderful our stay was.

The room we were given needs to be modernized .Old carpet, and bedroom TV. No Air condition. The big pool was out of order. Would not recommend this place for the price Hotel.com charged.

Service was slow requested towels 4 times
