Dieses hotel ist sicherlich keine Topadresse, allerdings kriegt man für das Geld ein stets sauberes und sehr geräumiges Zimmer in einer gut geführen Anlage. Das Personal war stets nett und sehr hilfsbereit. Ein Zustellbett zu bekommen war absolut kein Problem, auch wenn das Bett selbst eher mäßig war. Das Frühstück ist ganz gut, wenn auch hier nichts besonderes zu sehen gibt und man nur mit dem üblichen US-Standart rechnen kann. Nachts ist es wegen des nahegelegenen Highways etwas laut, aber mich hat es weniger als das Schnarchen meiner Zimmermitbewohner gestört.

Das Hotel liegt günstig zu Old Town San Diego. Es benötigt mal eine Renovierung. Eine Lobby, in der man sich einmal hinsetzen kann, ist nicht vorhanden. Der Empfang ist aber freundlich und hilfsbereit. Empfehlenswert nur für Leute, die sich mit einem sehr einfachen Hotel begnügen u nd nicht viel Geld ausgeben wollen.

Wir hatten ein Nichtraucherzimmer gebucht mit einem Queenbett und bei Buchung bereits bezahlt. Vor Ort war allerdings nur ein Raucherzimmer mit Queenbett frei. Nach kurzer Inspektion gingen wir zur Rezeption zurück, da das Zimmer unglaublich nach Rauch stank. Die ältere Dame an der Rezeption teilte uns mit dass nur Doppelzimmer mit 2 Queenbetten als Nichtraucherzimmer zur Verfügung stünden und wir dafür 10 $ + Tax extra pro Nacht zahlen müssen, was wir letztendlich auch getan haben. Uns war es das wert, dass wir aus dem verqualmten Zimmer rauskamen. Ich finde es trotzdem eine Unverschämtheit von der Dame, ich hatte ihr die Kopie der Reservierung gezeigt, wo draufsteht, dass wir ein Nichtraucherzimmer gebucht hatten. Die Lage des Motels ist recht einsam, also kein Restaurant etc. in Gehweite. Das karge Frühstück bestand aus schlechtem Kaffee, Orangensaft, Cerealien, abgepacktem Kuchen und wenn man Glück hat Bagels, Orangen und Bananen.
Lage
Ocean Inn Encinitas Legoland liegt in Strandnähe in Encinitas. Folgende Sehenswürdigkeiten befinden sich in der Umgebung: Sealife Aquarium, Legoland Kalifornien und Carlsbad Premium Outlets. Zu den weiteren Sehenswürdigkeiten der Region gehören: Del Mar Racetrack und Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base.
Ausstattung
Jeden Morgen wird Ihnen ein kostenloses Frühstück serviert. Die Unterkunft Ocean Inn Encinitas Legoland bietet Folgendes: Wäscherei, Kaffee in der Lobby und kostenlose Zeitungen in der Lobby. Ein kostenloser W-LAN Internetzugang steht in den öffentlichen Bereichen zur Verfügung. Außerdem steht Folgendes zur Verfügung: Tresorfach an der Rezeption, Parken ohne Service und Mikrowelle in der Lobby. Gästen stehen kostenlose Parkplätze zur Verfügung. Die 51 klimatisierten Zimmer im Ocean Inn Encinitas Legoland bieten Folgendes: Zimmersafes und kostenlose Zeitungen. Ein W-LAN Highspeed-Internetzugang steht den Gästen kostenlos zur Verfügung. Satelliten-TV-Empfang steht in den Zimmern zur Verfügung. Zur Badausstattung gehören: Kosmetikspiegel, Haartrockner und kostenlose Toilettenartikel.
In allen Zimmern stehen Ihnen Mikrowellen und Kühlschränke zur Verfügung. Außerdem steht Folgendes zur Verfügung: Deckenventilatoren und Radiowecker. Bügeleisen/Bügelbretter und Weckanrufe sind auf Anfrage verfügbar. Der Reinigungsservice wird täglich angeboten.

In Carlsbad blühen überall Butterblumen. Diese Blumen wachsen auf einer Fläche von über 200.000 m² auf den "Flower Fields" der Carlsbad Ranch. In der Nähe dreht sich im Museum of Making Music alles um amerikanische Kompositionen und Instrumente. Im Norden wiederum liegt Oceanside in der Mitte zwischen Los Angeles und San Diego. Dieser Strandort ist bekannt für seinen Landungssteg, der mit fast 600 Meter Länge der längste Holzlandungssteg an der Westküste ist. In der Nähe befindet sich auch der Legoland-Themenpark.

The guy at front desk was very nice! The hotel room was ok. Nothing fancy. The beds were uncomfortable. I thought it would be easier to get to the beach but it was quite a walk. Breakfast was.... silly. Toast, some weird pastry, and "oj" aka sunny d. The hotel staff was nice...

"Encinitas Ocean Hotel"
I hadn't spent a great deal of time in the room. But I had a good nights sleep and it was clean. Breakfast was limited, but good enough to get started. All in all it was a good value.

I wouldn't avoid the place we actually had a great time, that being said I wouldn't seek it out either about like a motel 6 but with no one on site after 10.
The front desk clerk at night when I checked in was very friendly as was the clerk in the morning when I checked out. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable.

No bugs! It was quiet. They remodeled but still looks old. Bathtubs are cracking but they are supposed to replace. Breakfast is just orange juice, danishes, toast and coffee. Nothing more. Better than nothing. People are very nice. I would take my kids there. I had a great time alone as a quick spontanous get away.

"Ocean Inn, Encinitas CA"
Hotel was suitable for my stay. Took my kids on vacation. Very close to Legoland and about 30 minutes from San Diego. Parking at the hotel was a nightmare most evenings. The continental breakfast included bread (toast), butter, jelly, packaged danishes, coffee and orange juice. Not a great variety. The desk staff was very friendly and helpful.

Cute hotel and it was clean, but VERY basic for what we paid per night. Seemed a little overpriced... Our only complaint about the room was that the bed was SOOOO firm we both had backaches the next day. We really liked the loation though. Very close to the beach!

"Ocean Inn Encinitas"
For starters, B****, the front desk clerk I met on my arrival, was (I thought) condescending and rude. (I don't think that I'm supposed to use the desk clerk's real name, so I starred out the letters after his first initial). The carpet was dirty, and the cover on one of the beds had cigarette burns despite the fact that I was supposedly in a non smoking […] room. The toilet seat was loose, and the towel holders were rusty. The "deluxe continental breakfast" left much to be desired. The Ocean Inn might have been a nice hotel once upon a time (an L.A. Times travel review from 1998 was posted in the office) but I didn't care for the place and plan never to return. It was, in my opinion, not a good value for the money. Mehr

nice friendly staff - good location - great beds (best all trip) continental breakfast could have been better but... overall a nice quick stop (oh,the wifi signal did not work in our room - had to go near the lobby - not a big deal though
"It's just OK"
Price was right and the place is just OK. Zero water pressure in the shower and could hear the neighbors closing room door and their conversations. If you're a college kid, this place is perfect. They have fresh coffee in the AM, that was cool.

Clean -Very Basic - Front desk PM & AM very efficient. If you are looking for a nice clean very basic place to stay this is it. Wifi - near the beach - and everything else.

"Pleasantly Surprised"
I was concerned about staying here because after I made my reservation I read some unfavorable reviews about the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised from the minute I arrived. We didn't get there until 11 p.m. and the woman in the office was very welcoming. The room was very clean, but the bed was too firm, so the next morning I went to the office to […] ask if they had a softer beds and the man and woman there took me around to the available rooms and let me pick out one that I liked. The train noise is very low and not an issue and I'm a light sleeper. The day I checked out the man in the office let me print out my boarding pass. The whole time all of the employees were very happy and accommodating. Considering the low price the hotel was great. Mehr

"last minute"
OMG.....was in desperate need of a good nites sleep.....was unable to acheive that here...this place is very old-dirty-bed was original from 1965---train was very noisy-air conditioner was absoulutley filthy...dirt was blowing out of vents into room-it was so noisy...i got very little sleep--was afraid to walk on the carpet barefoot....so old it was […] changing color towards the wall--the box spring underneath liner was hanging off the bed onto the floor..mattress was very lumpy...terrible--bathroom had 1" thick caulking between the sink and tub against the wall....below adequate standards....i would suggest this hotel be removed from your list....this is NOT a 2 star hotel. "Only stay here if you have to."
I stayed at this hotel 2 years ago and was pleased with the price, location, and quality of the hotel. It looks like they haven’t changed the shower curtains or blankets since then! However, we didnt say anything to the hotel staff about changing rooms because it was late and we just wanted to go to bed.

The hotel is located of the Costal Highway without any beach access within walking distance. Very busy place, but quiet and pleasant. Breakfast was minimal: Tang instead of Orange Juice and shrink wrapped baked rolls, no protein options.

Even though it was some distance to Legoland, the hotel was in a quaint area. The rooms were large and the Continental Breakfast was great for the price.

Great location (near freeway, Legoland and beach). Roomie rooms that were clean. Uncomfortable hard beds, I didn't sleep 5 minutes :(
"BAD: "There's always something going on""
Well, the MOTEL was acceptable. The worst complaint was that after getting back from LegoLand there were cops there. When they left, out of curiosity I asked the clerk if it was anything I should worry about. She said, "We have 51 rooms, and there's always something going on here". I've travelled around the world and never saw cops at my hotel/motel. […] So I say stay away if they always have problems like this. The rooms are decent, but dated. The breakfast is subpar, but you are walking distance to Encinitas (AKA Tom's) Donuts. I highly recommend it (the donuts). It is close to the beach, and some neat little shops you can walk to. There's food nearby, but not cheap. Mehr
This place was great, especially for the price. Close to Legoland, clean rooms, friendly staff, and the airconditioner was strong (we were there in July).

Friendly staff and clean rooms. The beds weren't extremely comfortable, but for the price and location, it was very excusable. We will certainly consider staying here again if we are traveling back down to the San Diego area.

Stayed here while some construction work was done on my home. Room was small, but clean and comfortable. Several eateries nearby. Queen bed was not really a queen, more like an oversize twin.

"A decent budget hotel"
This is good hotel if you're on a budget and just need a room to crash at night. The beds are very firm, good for people with back problems. If you prefer softer beds this is not the place for you.
As expected for cheapest place for the weekend. Breakfast was danishes and coffee only.

"great for the price!"
i grew up in ENC, and we usually stay at moms' house when we visit, but she has some remodeling going on and so getting a room was a better option. The Ocean Inn was the least expensive in the ENC area, and after reading some of the reviews I was a little hesitant but because of out budget decided to book anyway... It was great! The staff was very […] friendly, and attentive. The establishment looks very nice from the outside, and our room was very clean. Yes, the beds were a little on the harder side, but we always bring our pillows from home and we were fine. the room was big enough to accomodate my sons travel crib, and he had room to play and walk around. The complimentary breakfast consisted of orange juice, coffee, packaged mini danishes, and toast (nothing to write home about) but there are so many awesome breakfast spots in ENC and Tom's Donut Shop is only a couple blocks away, so the minimal breakfast was not a big deal. Overall it was a great experience. Thank you Oceans Inn. We will be back again and will recommend it to friends who need an affordable, clean room. Mehr

"Good for the money"
But not near beach access. It is very close to the beach on the map, but private properties lie on the beach here so you can't just go hop over for a walk on the beach. Otherwise, for the money, this is a good choice if you need a place to sleep. Even though this is near the train tracks, we surprisingly did not hear them throughout the night as loud […] as we had thought. Mehr
