Staff very nice and accomodating, will definately stay here again.

usually the hotel is neat, clean and quiet. this time the people staying on the third floor felt if they were up from 11:00p.n until 3:00a.m. everyone else should be up.Frequently knocking on doors and talking loudly in the halls. otherwise no complaints.

16 miles from Foxwoods, it was the place we stayed because Foxwoods was booked as were the hotels closer. Not a bad ride, but we planned to shuttle to Foxwoods. There isn't a shuttle. Taxi? One company offered to taxi us for a flat sixty two fifty each way which was more than we wanted to spend on it. The room itself was decent. A fridge was convenient. […] Smallish room, but adequate. The beds were awful. Mattresses were majorly lumpy and we didn't really sleep much because of it. Aside from that it was good. Jeremiah working the front desk could not have been nicer. the inn is neat and clean. check in is quick and friendly. but. the furniture needs to bre replaced. it was scratched and nicked.

We went swimming during our stay and the pool was well maintained. The staff was excellent. There's not too much immediately in the area but the steakhouse two minutes away was fantastic and the casinos are about 15 minutes away and worth the drive. Overall I would go back there anytime.

I had a wonderful time there from the reception to all the hotel staff. The rooms where very clean and the location is just a perfect getaway with wonderful breakfast in the mornings if you can wake up early enough to pick up breakfast and go back to bed. Wonderful place.

I booked 2 rooms at this hotel for myself and a few friends. The reason I picked this hotel was because it was close to Mohegan Sun Casio which is where my friends and I were going. When we arrived to check in the two rooms I had booked were on separate floors. I asked if we could have our rooms next to each other or at least on the same floor and […] I was told no cause they were booked. I booked the rooms together, why would they think we would not want to be together? Regardless we split up and went to our rooms. The rooms were clean and had the basic hotel setup. After dropping our things off we went to the front and ask for a cab service to take us to the casino. The front desk man exact words were "You're in the middle of no where Connecticut, there's no cabs here." I said how can that be, I come from a tiny town in NH and even we have cabs. He said the only way to get a cab was to pay $100 for it to come here on top of the actual destination fee. This really put a damper on our plans because we wanted to be able to drink at the casino and not have to worry about driving back. With no other choice, we drove to the casino. I don't know how this hotel could say it is near the casino, It was a 30 minute drive and I am a fast driver. If you are staying here to go to the casino's don't waste your time or money. It's way to far away and there is no other option then to drive yourself there. We got back to the hotel around 1:30am to go to sleep. The walls are paper thin, I could hear the rooms next to our TV on all night. A few our later I could hear there shower on and then talking. The continental breakfast provided slim choices and was mostly cold. At least you're not paying for it. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. It's not worth the money I paid to stay there. If I had paid less then the annoyances may have been looked over. Mehr

This hotel is definitely a keeper if you planned on staying in the area. The staff is wonderful, helpful and attentive. Jeremiah is the best- he helped me re-schedule my stay, which was originally planned during Hurrican Irene- and when we arrived, he essentially knew who I was and had the keys to my room ready. The other front desk staff were awesome […] as well. My stay being previously paid for on Hotels.com, i was NOT ASKED for my debit card and therefore not double charged (which happened to me before at another hotel, despite the hotel staff asking for my debit card to have on file for "incidentals" or something of the sort) It's very clean and well-kept. The only complaints I had involved the noise levels- one was the volume on the lovely flat screen in our room (the volume went from mute, which was level "zero," to surprisingly loud- "one"- and there was no in-between) and the other issue had to do with the water/pipe pressure. When other guests in adjacent rooms went to bathe, i could hear the water running throught the pipes. The noise was NOT a deal breaker, however- I'd definitely recommend the hotel and I'd return there myself, albeit with earplugs. Just 2 additional warnings- the pool was not actually heated as advertised and I didn't see a jacuzzi. Other than the aforementioned "gripes", I was VERY happy. The refrigerator and microwave made my room extra homey, and the room itself was surprising spacious with a very comfy bed. By the way, the purpose of my visit was to go to Mohegan Sun Casino, which was only about 20 minutes away. Loved it! Mehr

Everything about this hotel was nice and clean, except the towels. They were old and dingy. Also, I noticed when I went to the linen room to ask for new towels that they had a whiteboard which listed rooms that should be given the "old laundry". I assume they mean old towels and linen? Funny thing was, our room number wasn't there, meaning we got the […] "newer" towels? Yikes! I'd hate to see what the "old" towels look like if ours were already yucky! Mehr

made reservation for a room with 2 beds, at time of check in only room left was a room with 1 bed and a couch. Since we had paid for the room in advance we had no choice but to take the room. Not happy with that and would not go back, even for free.

The room was ok but they advertised a hot tub and there was none, also the pool was rather small for a hotel this size. With only some of the people using it it was very crowded. Breakfast was very good and the staff was friendly. Other than the pool and hot tub situation it was not a bad place to stay.

This hotel was exactly what I was looking for. It is closr to Mohegan Sun and just off of the highway. It was safe and clean.

Only a few minor gripes.... Shower curtain should have been replaced. There seemed to be druel marks / stains on the sheets. The bathroom floor mat was very dingy and should have been tossed out a long time ago. All-in-all though for the price it was very nice especially since it had a microwave & refrigerator. Very convenient location, easily accessible […] from the highway and the price even included breakfast. Very good deal and nicer than the more expensive hotels in the area. Mehr

Made reservation for a hadicapped accessable room, was told I had it. When I got there NO SUCH THING!!!!!!!!!!, could not shower and had trouble using bathroom....Not Good

hotel was great, awesome breakfast included, extremely comfortable beds and pillows, very clean.would definately stay there again.

Amazing staff, great breakfast. Only thing, small town and there wasn't much located near the hotel as far as late night food options (we arrived pretty late and hungry with not too many options for dinner). But still, great hotel, very affordable and was a reasonable distance from the town where we were going for a wedding.

I reserved a room for my daughters. When it came time to process the credit card number that I used to make the reservation, the desk clerk had a little trouble and my daughter called me to help straighten it out. He spoke with me on the phone, reprocessed the number and the payment went through. I appreciated his continuing to try and process the payment. […] Their stay was very pleasant. Mehr

I picked this hotel based on the reviews. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The hotel has mice, breakfast is disgusting, pool smells that eyes are burning, our room was not made up when we left. When we addressed the issue about the room, nobody wanted to take charge. If you are staying in this area, pick something else.

This hotel is located a few miles from my parents' house in a somewhat rural area. We have stayed here many times and so were shocked to have stayed in a room that was, quite obviously, not really clean. The nightstand had water marks on it (not stains, marks that could have been cleaned) and the TV stand and desk were dusty. Because it was a holiday […] weekend, the desk clerk said that there was no other room. I explained I didn't need another room, I just wanted mine cleaned. No one was on for cleaning that evening. The bathroom was clean, as was the rest of the hotel's common areas. I was disappointed (especially since we paid what were obviously holiday rates) but will stay there again. Of course, a few more negative experiences will send us down the road despite the convenience of this hotel. Mehr

Online pictures do not do the hotel justice. Very clean, comfortable, nice overall. Close enough to Moheghan Sun which is where we went for a show. I was a little nervous about the hotel name, the Holiday Inn "Express", but there is nothing rushed in the quality, cleanliness and care especially for the money!...decently priced. Complimentary breakfast […] was a bonus. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again in. the future. Mehr

room was small walls paper thin,dirty floors tv had outdated guide....there was no spa tub as advertised(main reason we picked here)other than that brakfest was ok pool was nice service was fineal in all not what i expected when i booked this room

The HIE in Plainfield was excellent and met all of our expectations. The room was beautiful and the overall service was outstanding. Our son and his family were also staying there allowing us the opportunity to spend quality time with them, particularly while enjoying the wonderful complimentary breakfast.

the price was great for a hot tub room on a sat nite. hotel was clean and comfortable. there were a few things that bothered me, but i would still stay there again. #1 a hot tub room with only two towels? #2, the water in the swimming pool was very cold. #3 the only two staff on duty went outside together to smoke leaving the hotel unattended. the under […] staffing, 2 towels, and cold water seem to all be managments fault. why bother with a beautiful pool when you keep it so cold. this is being cheap to save a few dollars only to disapoint your customers. is that service? The room we stayed in was very small and walls paper-thin. Bed linens looked dingy. It sounded like we heard water running all night -- we arrived late and got up early so we weren't too concerned. Good thing we weren't staying for more than one night. Breakfast was minimal. Check-in was very quick.

The pool was nice, but no whirlpool. The room wasn't quite what I expected for a "suite". I could have paid a little Less and had 2 queen sized beds. Instead, I opted for a "suite" with a king bed because I thought we'd have a little privacy that way. We ended up with 1 king bed and a fold out loveseat that turned into a large twin bed. Neither was […] comfortable and all the bedding provided for the 2nd bed was 2 thin blankets. No sheets or pillows. Oh well, lesson learned. Breakfast had plenty of choices, we just didn't have time to check it all out. Mehr

We have stayed here many times in the last 2 years and rooms have been very adequate and predictable. This time, the room we were given smelled of pot smoke. We asked for a new room but they were full at it was 10PM. Not very happy about this but past stays have been very acceptable.

We were visiting friends and had our 2 grand-daughters with us. Room was clean and spacious, food was excellent and worked out great having the continental breakfast. Only caveat is one grand-daughter was very disappointed they didn't have a waffle maker as she enjoys having fresh waffles for breakfast. We decided at the last minute to go to Foxwoods to see Cirque du Soleil and found this hotel nearby. We were expecting to have two beds but only got one, my son was fine on the pull out couch. We had to go to the front desk to get linens (I guess that's what you call a limited-service hotel) but that wasn't too bad. My daughter, husband and I slept […] in the king bed and it was ok for one night. Since our stay, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort in Bar Harbor, ME. Twice the price, and breakast was extra. $14 per person,plus tip, and it was the same breakfast as this hotel! And at the HI Express, breakfast was included. Made it seem like an even better deal!
