Colonial Pool and Spa Motel - Long Beach

Not quite what I expected frm the website. Was on my honeymoon so intentionally picked it because it said it had a spa but when I asked about it they said they did not keep it heated even though weather is nice enough year around. Also was only given a total of 2 pillows and when I asked for another one they didn't have one until later and called me […] to come get it instead of just bringing it to my room. Otherwise the workers were mostly friendly and tried to help. Mehr

If you need a room for 1 night this place is ok, but for more than 1 night is not good, specially for families... not a good neighborhood... the rooms are old and smelly... the staff is ok and the pool is nice but again do not stay more than 1 night at this place just to stop over.

Rude service, filthy room my feet turned black from the carpet and we were afraid to go outside after dark. Only positive was the pool and hot tub made you forget how bad the room was.

Paid too much and the room wasn't worth that much! Stayed in better hotels and paid less. Overall, it was clean and decent, but we had a good laugh about all the mirrors in the room! They also didn't have a place to put your luggage and the bathroom was a little old and rusty! Otherwise, it was ok!

The hotel itself could use some updates (shower heads and faucets) and routine cleaning could improve considerably. When I checked in there were clear signs of previous guests. That said, the staff was kind and accommodating and when traveling with my dog I will stay here again.

It was way different than what we expected. We would have just cancelled our reservation but it was too late so we had to stay. It was dirty. The place is not somewhere i would bring my daughter with to stay for a night let alone a whole weekend like we did. The other people staying there were creepy. Alot of them appeared to be under the influence […] of some heavy narcotics. At one point we heard a woman screaming at the top of her lungs that she needed help and not one person came to her aid. Not even the front desk. They saw us come out and they called us telling us to shut our door. I will NEVER EVER stay here again. It was gross. I was uncomfortable even coming out of our room with out my husband. If i could have gotten my money back that would have made me happy... but i was told no by the front desk which made me hate that hotel even more. Also, our room looked gross. not like what the picture on the website looked like at all. The bed smelled funny, the toilet had dry pee on it, the shower didnt even work properly and it looks dirty. I would not recommend anyone staying here unless you want to stay in the ghetto. Mehr

I read the reviews so I expected worse but needed to be in this area so decided to try it. It's great for the price. I've stayed at many hotels at this price range, this is great for the cost. Fridge, microwave, cable tv, pool, jacuzzi, all clean. You park in center of square shaped hotel right in front of your door, there's security cams all over, […] bright lights outside, it's all good. Free Fruit loops, muffins, milk, donuts,cocoa, coffee in office all morning. this place is fine, I'm here now, as a matter of fact I'm going to chill in the jacuzzi, all to myself. Neihborhood is what gives this hotel a bad rap, but I walked 3 blocks to the store at midnight last night, no problems. Mehr

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The area is horrible. When we pulled in I wasn't very happy neither was my husband. We walked into the hotel room and our three year old says "yuck what's that smell" it smelled awful. I felt like I would catch a disease if I touched anything. My husband said lets go we are not staying here and I wasn't arguing. When I told the front […] desk we could not stay, her response was that someone is in the office 24 hours and that we would be safe, I didn't mention anything about safety I sure thought it though. We stayed at a Comfort Inn and it was nice, clean and comfortable close to the same price. I think the people that gave this hotel above a rating of 1 were able unable to see properly. They did not clean the room automatically Their excuse is we did not attach "maid service sign" on the door, which I have never encountered on other hotels I stayed in. When we came back the room is dirty towels not replaced etc. Overall it needs improvement.

This was a clean alternative to the very high priced hotels a few blocks away. It is not in a great neighborhood but if you are looking for a place to sleep while wanting to be close to the beach and downtown, this fits the bill.
