The Parkway Hotel - St. Louis

Hotel liegt sehr günstig an der Metro zwischen Flughafen und Innenstadt, 15 Min fahrt bis ins Zentrum. Hotelshuttle kostenlos (+Tip). Sehr sauberes Zimmer. Kostenloses Frühstück reichhaltig (Pfannkuchen, Waffeln, Eier, Brote, Bagel), aber lieblos mit Plastikgeschirr und mit selbstabräumen, kein Aufschnitt.

This hotel is virtually ON the Barnes medical campus, so if you need to visit the medical center or Wash U Med School, this is the most convenient hotel. The accommodations are not luxurious but they are perfectly fine: clean and comfortable, with a friendly staff who want to please their guests. There are quite a few very good, high quality restaurants […] within walking distance (~5 blocks) from the hotel, and you can also walk just a few blocks to Forest Park. Free WIFI is offered, but only in the lobby, where they also have a couple of computers for guests to use. Mehr

This appears to be an older hotel and the room reflects this. But, overall it was fine. Great restaurant nearby. Nice lobby.

not near a four star, less than a Holiday Inn or similar chain

I was pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of the front desk staff. They were so friendly and helpful. They gave us directions to nearby restaurants and attractions. The overall hotel decor was pleasant and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. I would definitely stay in this hotel again. A very good value for the price.

Enjoyed the stay as always, would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Well kept. Responsive courteous staff. Located in the walkable, trendy Central West End. Spent nice afternoon in Forest Park at the free world class zoo. Lots of coffee, cafe and bar spots close by. I don't know why people have rated this hotel so high. It is definitely not a 4 star hotel and not worth what we paid a night. Besides the fact that we booked a king bed and were given two full size beds, the room looked nothing like the pictures. The bed spreads were old and dingy blue ones, with nasty khaki colored blankets underneath. Worst pillows […] I have ever experienced. Desk in the room was literally about to fall apart. Shower had the worst water pressure I have ever experienced. Shower curtain was tied to the shower rod with yarn. Toiletries were cheap. Breakfast was gross (powdered eggs, old refrigerated waffles). Hotel was connected to a hospital, which was a creepy thing. Made you feel like you were in a hospital. There was even a wheelchair out in the hallway that belonged to the hospital. The facilities and the service was fantastic!

We stayed on a thur. and fri. night and had a very nice room, friendly and helpful froht desk help. We will definitely stay here again if the need arises. close to Barnes, St. Louis Children's hospital, minutes from City Museum, Zoo etc.... Great Location.

Hotel was ok. Complimentary breakfast was ok but served on paper plates with plastic forks, napkins were inside of retail plastic bag

My coworkers and I we're in St. Louis for a conference and this hotel was about a 1/2 a block away. We have stayed here several times and have never been disappointed. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly. They offer popcorn, warm cookies and coffee or tea in the lobby. What;s not to like????

Hotel employees were VERY Nice and accommodating. All had a smile and a greeting when we passed. The room was nice, clean but the tub had about 3 inches of something black growing where the tub meets the tile. Mattress was too soft for me but other may like it that soft. The breakfast was good, eggs, sausage, bisket and Gravy, juices, frozen waffles, […] fruit, breads, pastries, coffee etc. Parking is next to the hotel in a parking garage that is shared with the adjacent hospital. 5 min drive to Washington University Mehr

I stayed for 3 nights in January for a class at Washington University Medical School. The location is great - walking distance to the school, and also Euclid St., which has lots of cute restaurants, bars, and shops, plus some really nice homes. Fresh-baked cookies awaited me upon check-in, and they served an adequate breakfast in the morning. The only […] downsides: gym was ok, could use an exercise ball and some resistance bands, maybe some towels and magazines. I called one night (twice!) for a wake-up call and no one answered at the front desk. I just used my phone alarm but it was strange that no one answered at 8pm! Mehr

This hotel connects via an above-street covered walkway directly to the Barnes Jewish and Children's Hospital complex. There is an Applebee's Restaurant at street level, as well as a parking garage. Polite, attentive staff.

the Parkway hotel is a convenient and reasonably priced hotel for those needing accomodations near several major hospitals systems and only a 10 minute drive from the Washington University in St. Louis campus. The surrounding area provides a nice place to dine and shop.

This hotel was great. The room was nice and the beds very comfortable. The free breakfast was wonderful as well. Only complaint would be the shower in the bathroom was poorly done and the water presser was horrible.

The hotel was clean and very nice. The breakfast in the morning has great variety and was pretty tasty. the room was basic. The only drawback was a gentleman working at the front desk on the night shift told us that a restaurant at Union Staiton was open so we took our two kiddos out and made the trek on the metro to find out it had closed months before. […] When we came back and told him his response was "I don't ever go there" Not very professional in my opinion. the rest of the staff was stellar! The hotel was better than expected for a 3 star rating. Convenient to the Central West End district of St. Louis. Breakfeast was average. Fair value for the cost.

The hotel offers continental breakfast of toast, cereal, fruit salad, scrambled eggs, sausage and gravy. The sausages were very oily and the fruit salad was frozen which may have come straight from the frozen section of a grocerie store. There are not enough tables and chairs for customers having breakfast. The room is old with the heat and a/c creating […] so much noise I can't sleep at night. The in-room coffee is watery. The carpet needs to be vacuumed. The front desk people are very nice though. There's free freshly baked cookies and popcorn at night. And, there's a crosswalk that connects to the hospital, perfect for those who don't want to endure walking in the cold. Mehr

This hotel is attached to a hospital and medical schools, so the plus is that you feel very safe, but it does make the entrance/parking situation very tricky. We liked that it was right near a metrolink station (that we hopped on and rode down to the Delmar Loop). The hotel itself had some minor cosmetic things that needed repair (paint, some small […] holes, etc), but our room was clean and nice. It's a nice choice if you don't want to pay downtown prices, but still want to be close to everything. We'd stay there again. Mehr

Very, very disappointing. First off, I got there at 2p for check-in and they told to come back at 4p. OK, I come back at 3:30p and they are/ have checked in everyone else, I'm sitting right in front of them and they ignored me! Finally at 3:50p I walk up to them and viola, room is ready. The housekeeping is terrible on my 2nd day there, I was out from […] 11a-4p, I come back at 4p and room is NOT made up!. I call front desk and they say they will look in to it. Of course housekeeping never shows up. I just gave up, terrible experience Mades me wonder about Hotels.com ratings. Will never stay there again. Did I mention great view of parking garage? Mehr

We were able to check in upon arrival at noon. Front desk was very courteous. Lighting in the bathroom was very bad for putting on make-up etc. Room and lobby areas were clean. Good location in Central West End.

The Parkway looks good from the outside and has some very nice people working in it. The rooms themselves suffer from supplies that need to be replaced: towels are frayed and even threadbare, mattresses are worn and curving. And keep in mind that many of the rooms look onto the parking garage. Nothing they can do about the last except lower the price. […] Time for new towels though. Mehr

I was impressed how sincerely nice the front desk was at check-in, with complementary popcorn, coffee and tea in lobby at all times. We only stayed 1 night; we grabbed continental breakfast quick in a.m. (looked like it got really busy as the morning went on, longer lines, so I recommend to get up early to beat the rush); we took the nearby tram to […] the arch. Even after check out we were allowed to keep our car in the garage next to hotel..everything was so reasonable I couldn't believe it! Room was nice for price, not meant for royalty, but still very nice..flat screen tv, marbel in bathroom, very spacious and clean. I definitely would stay here again! Mehr

We stayed at the Parkway Hotel in St. Louis on Saturday, Sept. 17th. It was easy to find, shared parking with a local hospital, and was quiet. The office staff were very friendly and answered most questions before they were needed to be asked. The beds were comfy, as I don't remember waking up in the middle of the night to toss and turn. They have a […] shop next to the front desk that's open 24 hours so you don't have to step out for a late night snack. Free continental breakfast (watch out for the cereal bowls - several had pinholes in the middle) and free popcorn (forgot to get some though). I would stay again and recommend it to others. Mehr

Close to some really cool bars/restaurants, Basillica, Botanical Gardens. The picture doesn't show where you are really staying. It is just a basic hotel, connected to a huge hospital. Not sure if we got a handicap accessible room, or if they are all this way. Room was good size. Bed was ok, and room was fairly clean. Breakfast wasn't good, so not really […] an additional value there. Overall it was okay. The hotel was expensive for what we got, but we are also paying for the location. Mehr

We often stay at the Parkway when in St. Louis as reasonably priced, quiet, roomy. Can walk to Central West End and all the restaurants there. Easy drive to Wash. University. Friendly and helpful staff

Was visiting Wash U for an interview and this hotel is right across from the street. Very close to restaurants and many other attractions. Very clean and nice staff. Will definitely book again if need to visit the university.

Great location, friendly staff, good price, easy parking and not expensive. Had a very nice stay and would recommend to anyone who is looking for the above.

Nice lobby and typical room. Within easy walking distance to the MetroLink and a number of local restaurants. Enjoyed the free cookies and popcorn, but the free breakfast was underwhelming. Water pressure could be better. Seems odd that there is no entrance to the hotel from the parking garage. All in all: not bad.

great location, very nice staff...only complaint we wanted and thought we booked two queen size beds and all they have are double beds that they call a full size...so the beds are a bit small.

Everything was great. Only thing I'll say is the complimentary breakfast has very little but there are so many places to go eat around there it isn't a big deal. A block from Forest Park and right at the edge of the Central West End area with lots of bars, stores and restaurants.

The Parkway Hotel was in close proximity to the event I was there to attend. This was the number factor for selecting this hotel. Upon entry, I was not disappointed. The area was clean and the smell of fresh chocolate chip cookies filled the room. There were also selected fruits and coffee for guests. On my way to the elevator, I noticed a restaurant […] which was an added plus since I was tired and did not wish to go out. The room had many extras as well. It was equipped with a microwave and refrigerator. I also had the pleasure of samlping some treats and water that were left. The next morning I had the opportunity of having a wonderful continental breakfast which was definitely filling. The only problem I encountered at The Parkway Hotel was with the limited parking. Once I left and tried to return, I drove back and forth looking for a spot. When I brought this to the attention of management, this situation was taken care of immediately. The hotel was excellent in all ways although I must say I have eaten better buffet breakfasts !!!

Loved the price, loved the location (2 blocks from MetroLink), loved the quality of room and staff was nice too. Cleaning staff worked hard and made sure we had a bunch of clean towels every day. Only downside was the shuttle service that was promoted as taking you anywhere within 5 miles would not take us downtown to the baseball game(about 3-5 miles […] away) and wasn't available in the morning to take us to the Zoo (about 1 mile away). Don't count on the shuttle to get around but overall the hotel was great. Mehr

terrible,very disappointed. desk clerk especially very rude. treated poorly. room priced too high for people with patients in hospital.! breakfast not very good. again very displeased! as far as the room it was nice. but service was very very poor.

There was no breakfast buffet. We went down at 9:00 and everything was completely gone (scraped clean) and dry. We inquired about this since the service was supposed to be until 9:30. We were told there would be more brought out, and finally they brought out a few scrambled eggs which were quickly consumed by the 15 other people that were waiting for […] food. I have stayed at the Parkway Hotel before. As with the last visit it was pleasant. We were told to stay at this hotel because we were a patient of the hospital the next day, and the hotel would give us a hospital discount. Unfortunately that did not happen. We were told in order to receive the discount we had to book directly with the hotel. was disappointed during this stay. the hotel was not close to any must see sights. it was inconvenient to get to the metro. it took us anywhere from 15 to 20 to just check in to our room. there was only one person at the front desk and he continue to wipe his nose as he touched my credit card and paperwork. and our view from the window was the parking […] garage, and our room was one of the most expensive rooms. will not being coming back to this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. We loved that whatever we needed to get to was either a Metro stop or two away, or the free shuttle was ready to take us. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The first night our neighbors seemed noisy, but that's because the walls are thin.
