The hotel was comfortable, but the parking not so much. If you have a large vehicle, it's not easy to maneuver around. Other than that, it was a nice stay.

Our stay was great . We were up grade too a larger room for free. Resort is a little dated but great deal for the money.

Beautiful location with a view of the mountains right outside the patio doors. Room was not the one bedroom suite shown on website, it was small with a little kitchenette. Could prepare eggs and toast, but not much else, not enough dishes (4 of everything), one small frying pan and a pot; coffee and tea were provided. Hide-a bed was fine for kids, but […] not adults. Pool was too small to bother swimming in. Simple accomodations, but better than a single hotel room with two beds. Would recommend for a family of 4, not 4 adults. Location is worth overcoming shortcomings. Deer came right up to patio doors as we were eating! Mehr

I really enjoyed this hotel. We stayed in the executive suite and the bed was very comfy. There was also a steam room which was really nice. The only complaint I have is that there was no wood burning fireplace. Most of the hotels on tunnel mountain have a wood burnin fire place and it's so nice to have that at night.

The hotel is in need of renovation inside and out. The bed was uncomfortable, the kitchen needed more glasses and pans. The fridge needs to be replaced and the tv in the bedroom had a poor picture and volume issues. The hot tub by the pool was the smallest we had ever seen. Location is a little ways out of downtown Banff, but if you have a car is fine (more than 20 mins walking I'd guess). The room was great. I went with my boyfriend for a weekend away and we loved the king size bed, fireplace, and balcony. Microwave and mini-fridge were also nice to have. Reception was friendly... however didn't seem to give any extra […] information about anything (we had to ask a lot of questions i.e. What's the wifi password, how do you work the fireplace, can we get more coffee for the room, etc). I just stayed there with my wife and we had a great suite. The room was great clean the shower(we even had a steam shower and tub) and bed room was excellent. The pool is smaller and the excersies room was limited to few peaces of eqipment. I would stay there again in a heart beat, I dont like spending alot of money but I got my moneys worth there.

Hot tub cold! The room was okay, just a room. Needs some updating. Couldn't control the temperature in the room and it was so very hot! Price was cheap enough, but definitely got what we paid for!

We really enjoyed our room. Check-in took way too long! 25 minutes in line with only one person working at the front desk during one of the busiest weekends of the season (Family Day). We were able to enjoy the pool and hot tub on our first day, but after that the hot tub was out of order-very disappointing as we had been spending our days outdoors […] and really looked forward to a soak in the hot water. Otherwise the location was great-our chalet backed onto the trees and there were deer our back for the kids to observe. We were surprised to see our room fully renovated (probably in the last year or two) -Granite counter top -In floor tile heating -nice shower with steam option -fireplace -new tv and dvd player etc. It was awesome to find a room in such good condition! The only thing that was outdated was the mattress :( It wasn't too bad, but we could feel indents […] where people have slept before.. It sort of created a spot where you would just sink to. We booked on hotels.com - when we got there - the suite they were giving us was very old and in the basement - nothing like the pictures - we had to argue with managers to get the room swaped and then they wanted FULL price to get downgraded - no credit or consideration becasue we booked on hotels.com - we were like hows that fair - so careful what […] u book - the pics are not what they actually give you as a room - very much let down. Very nice hotel with a full kitchen. Grocery and liquor store located across the street. Has a pool, sauna and gym.

We were impressed with the service here -- we only booked one night on hotels.com, but decided at the last minute to stay an extra night, and the hotel staff accommodated that request easily and with minimal hassle. The two nights were two separate bookings, due to the nature of an online booking, but our experience in adding the night (aside from missing […] out on the lower rate!) was painless. The hotel seemed like a very good deal for a nice weekend away -- the room had amenities like a down comforter, microwave and fridge, DVD player, heated tile floors, a jacuzzi tub, steam room shower, and in-room fireplace. I tend to be cold, so the extra warm touches were perfect for me. Next time, we might try upgrading from the executive suite to the larger one, with a separate living room, but the executive suite is still larger than an average hotel room, so there was no shortage of space. We'll probably stay here again the next time we're in Banff. It's a little ways off the main drag, but only about a 5-minute drive downtown. It was a bit too cold to walk when we were there, but in nicer weather, not a strenuous walk (although a lot of shopping could make it so -- coming back would be an uphill walk, and I'm not sure I'd want to do that with a lot of bags). I think that the only complaint we had about the room all weekend was that the parking outside was a bit tight, so getting out of the spot when the lot was full required some manoeuvring. Mehr

The location is about a mile from downtown Banff so it was really quiet but I had to get back in the car to go where the action is. Location does provide a good jumping off point to ski resorts. Vents on stove didn't work so room always smelled like stale food. Not much charm but otherwise perfectly adequate. I'll look elsewhere next trip.

My husband and I went there for a night away. When we arrived you could literally see your breath in the room it was so cold. No heat vents in the loft/kitchen or living room. It took forever to get the fire going. The hotel is in serious need of an update. Although the appliances appear to be relatively new and a bathroom update was done, the rest […] of the room was very disappointing. The vertical window coverings were missing several slats, and the room was just very outdated and run down. After having the heat maxed out the entire night, we woke up to a cool 20 degrees. We arrived at the hotel rather late in the evening, otherwise we would have gone to another hotel. Very disappointed. If you are a young group going to Banff to ski and party, this room offers lots of sleeping space and is convienently located, however if you are looking for luxury and ammenaties (and warmth), this is not the place to go. Buffalo Mountain across the street was a much nicer property. Mehr

The chalet we stayed in needed a little TLC, the couch was dirty, and we had to put a sheet over it, the rug in the bedrooms was old and in need of a good cleaning. Although the bathroom was clean and the kitchen facilities were good.

I FOUND THE CHECK IN WAS NICE THE STAFF WERE GREAT BUT I ENTERED THE ROOM AND MY ATTITUDE CHANGED, THE ROOM SMELT OF STALE SMOKE. THE COUCH SMELT SO BAD WE USED FEBREEZE JUST SO WE COULD SIT ON IT. THE PATIO DOOR DID NOT LOCK THE FIRE PLACE FLUE DID NOT SHUT AND THE HEAT IN ONE ROOM WAS UNBARABLE AND COLD IN THE OTHER ROOMS NOT SATISFIED AT ALL

The facilities are wearing down with no visible evidence of up keep. When the furnace kicks in, it sounds like a jet taking off. Housekeeping asked us what needed to be done (?). Dishes were less than clean and frying pan was left in the oven with grease in it. How long was it there? Allow loud parties and do little to deal with the noise complaints. […] No reserved parking. After meetings in Calgary, my husband and I spent the night at Tunnel Mountain and were pleasantly surprised. The fireplace, whirlpool bath, steam shower, and separate sinks were very relaxing from the cold outside. Would definitely stay there again for another of 'mini spa' night.

Our room was large and had a gas fireplace. The bathroom had a steam shower and jet tub. The room and hotel were very clean. Would definetly stay here again and would recommend to all.

Good location and good size accommodation, however the room was dated with the decor tatty,which in turn made the room feel dirty. The sofa was very grubby and needed a good clean. The other disappointment was the rowdy neighbours who held a party til after 2 in the morning and then had several minicabs arrive banging doors ect.

This was a Great Hotel....The rooms were very nice! We loved it & would stay here again.

My first room needed a little TLC! The sofa was worn, and not sure it was clean. The room was located above the hotel laundry and was very hot. I could not cool the room, other than open the balcony doors (winter). A fan was supplied, but noisy... I requested to be moved to a quiter room with better control of room temperature. Tunnel mountain is always a good place to stay it's nice and cozy and comfy.... Not over the top or anything either! Did love having a kitchen!!

The rooms were old and not comfortable at all. The bed and couch weren't comfortable to sleep/sit on. The service was'nt the greatest.

The executive suite at Tunnel Mountain Resort was very comfortable. Loved the clean king size bed, fireplace and jetted tub. The location was very quiet and only a few minutes drive from downtown Banff. The rate for the night was great, compared to other similar hotels in the area. Very nice hotel.

We stayed at the hotel and found the room very nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. I have a bad back and slept great for our 3 night stay. The glass steam shower was a bonus and the jet tub was a great way to relax. We had a balcony with a view of the mountains every morning, however at 5am the snow plows kept me awake as the room was so […] hot we had to leave the window open. There was no parking for us on Saturday night as the hotel filled up and there was a large group who were partying. I called the desk and wasn't quite pleased at the answer that the only thing she could do would be to check the plates on the list and that would not work either. So we were told we could park in another buildings parking if we could find a spot. I asked her to follow the music and I'm sure they could hear it as loud as we could and knock on the door and just ask them to move all unregistered vehicles, but they don't do that. There is a man behind the counter with the woman working, though we could not figure out what his job is as he doesn't help anyone, and if he doesn't do security than we're not sure what he did. If your being taken care of be ready to wait as they answer and take care of every call that comes in no matter how long you've already waited. We also asked the desk where the nearest grocery store was because they don't supply or have sugar sweetener and she sent us downtown. 2 days later, we noticed the hotel across the street has a grocery store in it. That was very rude of her to have us travel when we simply could've walked across the street. That is taking competitive business a bit too far. The room was great, the staff could be updated, but it seems its the hotels policy not the staff's. Mehr

Nice place to stay in. We were a couple, spent our good time together in this cosy place for two nights. Close to most of all the atraction areas. Two minutes drive to downtown. A must place to stay in for family.

My wife and I felt right at home at the Tunnel Mountain Resort. Very comfortable sleeping area. Convenient kitchen stocked with the needed plates, cups, pots and pans, and necessary utensils. Comfortable sitting room with a cozy fireplace! We highly recommend this place!

We had to listen to our hotel neighbour give a star performance in the middle of the night. If I could recommend one improvement at Rocky Mountain Resort: get your rooms sound proofed.

We had a very relaxing stay in one of the executive suites. The fireplace was great, but the thing that really made us smile (again and again) was the heated tile flooring in the bathroom/entryway. The room had been recently updated (the outside looks older but is well kept-up), was very clean, and everything worked. We have always had something go […] awry when we stay at hotels, and this time we had no complaints or problems. We enjoyed the gym, pool and hot tubs. There is no restaurant, but great dining is only minutes away in downtown Banff. We liked the fact that this hotel is close to amenities but not in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Banff. We could never have afforded to stay at this place without the rate we got on hotels.com. This was a great little getaway! Would go back in a hearbeat! Mehr

The wi-fi didn't work in room and front staff seemed to think that was normal. Hallways a bit dark. Fitness room dark and sparse. Pool small and hot tub very small.....

LOCALS PLEASE!!!! CAN I HAVE THEM??? One thing Banff is commonly know for is the abundance of foreigners from New Zealand and Australia. The winter sports always lures them but then in the off season, you are very likely to be served by an Aussie in any of the local restaurants or a kiwi when you check in for your stay. Sadly, customer service has not […] been imported as well... To start things out, we had a high expectation for this resort as we've stayed here many times before. We found an amazing deal at Hotels.com and since we were celebrating our 1st year anniversary, we had our accommodations paid by a parent. When we arrived, we were stunned that we needed an additional credit card for a $100 deposit on the room. Neither of us had one and the girl was nonetheless concerned about it or us losing our entire pre-paid fees.. We even offered cash to cover the costs but there was not bending this rule and the clerk didn't offer any solutions or alternatives. We finally called the bank and luckily made it work. The room was pleasant but not cleaned very well to say the least. The shower looked as though it had been put through a week straight of a man's stay with what was lingering about, not going into much detail. The in-room radiator/air conditioning unit had a nice spill across the front of it's white surface. I guess the room must have been dark when the cleaners last visited? Perhaps that last visit was prior to the spill... One can only guess. After our first night's stay and our first outing, we returned to our room which had been supplied with one set of new towels and little else had been done that we noticed. We placed our used towels for exchange in the tub, something commonly done as a standard in North America but they had not been removed. The rest of our stay was alright. Some highlights of the hotel include 2 hot tubs, both indoor, a nice steam room, fitness area and pool. The sauna did not seem to be working or the hour we gave it to warm up was sim Mehr

We stayed in the hotel first week of October. It was very nice and quiet location-a little ways from downtown. Our one bedroom suite was a bit dated but clean. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Nice stay. We would definitely stay there again.

Hotel was ok staff was great, nothing to eat on site or a store to buy something. Thank god for the hotel across the street and also a small store in the other resort witch I heard they are being told to close down. Now everyone has to go to town for a pop or milk too bad. Ps three out of four burners on the stove was not working think someone would […] of checked that before we moved in. Mehr

We were disappointed to learn that we had to leave a $100.00 deposit on our credit card. We were not told this information when we booked. Upon arrival we were told this information and that it would be released immediately after checking out ...not the case.It will take 3-5 business days to be returned to our credit card which the staff at the hotel […] misinformed us that it would be immediate, when questioned the next day after checking out the staff said it could take up to 24 hours. Well, it is Tuesday evening and these funds are still not back on our credit card, very disappointing. Also, the room had something stuck to the floor in the washroom beside what looked like a spot of dried blood and there was old urine stain behind the toilet on the floor. We were not happy with this stay, we had stayed there in the past , and unfortunately we will not be returning. Mehr
