sehr dezentrale lage an der via diagonal - ubahn ans meer 2x umsteigen inkl. längerer fußmärsche. 5 sterne sind nicht gerechtfertigt - max. 4+ mein 6jähriger sohn hatte nur ein klappbett ohne decke (nur laken).....

Das Hotel ist sehr alt...Die Zimmer stinken und es ist sehr unsauber, verdiennt sicher keine 5****. Musste 3 zimmer besichtigen bis ich etwas sauberes gefunden habe... Personal sehr war unfreundlich.

I decided to stay at this hotel because of its relative location to the Camp Nou (the stadium is literally in the backyard of the hotel, a short walk will do the trick ). That particular weekend, Barcelona was playing Atheltic (Barca won 2-0). I arrived late night Friday, check-in was a blast, even when we realized my reservation was Sat-Mon instead […] of Fri-Sun. The staff decided to check me in and deal with hotels.com later. I contacted hotels.com and they eventually sorted things out. No dramas on either side ;-). Breakfast was superb. The night of the game, I left the hotel 30 min before the game started. The best was around 12 midnight when 90,000 Barca fans were heading back home, it took me 5 min to head back the hotel (However I had to wait 10 min for an elevator given the flux of people). That was my first visit to Barcelona (splendid city in my opinion). I'll stay here again on my next visit. For those planning to tour the city, there is alway a line of taxisn waiting for you outside the hotel, the subway station is 5 min away. Mehr

The Reception and the Check out were smooth. The rooms are well equiped, clean and everything works. The internet appears expensive, though first 15 minutes are free. The breakfast is excellent, the other meals can be taken in good restaurants nearby (but they are not much cheaper).

We were very impressed with the hotel,it's staff and the quality of services we receieved. We will surely go back and will recomend it to all our friends.The staff were very nice and professional.

I had a very nice experience staying at this hotel with my husband and our two friends. The concierge was very friendly and knowledgeable. He made great recommendations for us. I have to take a moment to RAVE about the buffet breakfast. It was definitely one of the highlights of our visit, and should not be missed. There were a large variety of items […] offered, and the hotel restaurant staff was excellent. I would rate the cleanliness and maintanence of this hotel at 3.5 out of 5. Housekeeping could do a better job of keeping the hallways clean to make the appearance of the hotel more pristine. There were little things noticed throughout our visit affecting the appearance of the hotel that maintenance could easily fix. The furniture could use a touch-up of cherry or mahogany stain. The hotel lobby chandeliere needs attention. Our stay was comfortable, and our room was clean. The front desk staff were friendly, polite and professional. Overall I would recommend this hotel to others and I would give it a total rating of 4 out of 5. Mehr

Too bad I was only there for one night!!! The hotel was everything I needed and more. It was centrally located to tour bus line, metro rail, and taxi service was always available. There was a spa and the pool area was nice too. They had a restaurant with breakfast which served dinner as well. Our room had a great view so I only wished I spent more than […] a night. Mehr

I only stayed one night, but the staff were very helpful - I couldn't get the wifi to work, but the front desk were more than happy to print things for me. A very pleasant stay.

The room was very comfortable and spacious unlike others we stayed in during out trip. We had to wait an hour b4 our room was ready which was a little dissapointing but the staff was overall was friendly and efficient. One thing I thought was a little unreasonable was that we had to pay to access the wifi at the hotel. We would have expected this access […] to be included in our room rate at a supposed 5 star hotel. We had stayed at other hotels with lower star ratings that granted us free and unlimited access to their wifi. Mehr

great hotel, close to subway and many good restaurants which are close by. great food on site. nice staff happy to assist with any requests.

Comfortable hotel but rather out-of-the-way unless the aim is to visit the University. Check in was slow. Wireless is in parts of the hotel and wasn't given a cable connection alternative. Speed is slow and it's expensive to connect except for the first 15' that are free. Staff are polite and helpful.

the bed are two twins together. hard not very confortable. the pillow were bad

THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAS IS THE HOTELL COLLEC TO MY A CHARGE ADICIONAL FOR 48.50 EUROS FOR THE BREAKFAST BECAUSE IN HIS PAPER APEAR THA I ORDER THE BREAKFAST TO MY ROOM AND NOW THIS CHARGE IS ON DISCUSION THE HOTEL IN LONDON WAS GOOD

Hotel is beat down to its core. I can't understand how in any world this hotel would be given a 5-star rating. If you would like to have a good time in Barcelona move to the central part of the city. I moved to a hotel near Las Ramblas after the my first and only night at the Princesa Sofia and had a great rest of my trip in Barcelona. Maybe if you […] are older and looking for a quieter experience in Barcelona this might be a place to stay. But if you are actually trying to explore and see the city this is not the place for you. THIS IS A VERY NICE HOTEL. IT IS A REFRESHING EXPERIENCE WHEN YOU ARE TRAVELING AROUND EUROPE. IT IS A FIVE STAR HOTEL, SO THE SERVICE AND THE ROOMS ARE WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT. THE PRICE IS FAIR, AND THE BUFFET BREAKFAST WAS GOOD -IT WAS INCLUDED, WE ARE A FAMILY OF SIX, SO IT WAS A GOOD DEAL. YOU CAN GO WALKING TO THE BARCELONA STADIUM, THEY HAVE A GREAT […] TOUR THERE. ALTHOUGH THE RAMBLAS AND THE BARCELONETA BEACH IS NOT CLOSE, YOU CAN GO BY SUBWAY OR BY CAB, -IN SPAIN TAXIS ARE NOT EXPENSIVE. AND YOU CAN FIND MANY PLACES NEAR THE HOTEL FOR LUNCH OR TO HAVE A NICE DINNER. Mehr

This hotel was perfectly fine. I was attending a conference nearby, and am not really all that picky. That said, I was consistently struck by the disparity between what one would expect from a "five star" hotel and what one gets at the Princesa Sofia. My room was not particularly spacious, or light, or well furnished. There was no free newspaper, no […] mints on the pillow, very low quality toiletries, in short none of the usual little perks of a "luxury" property. Then there was the overwhelming sense of being nickeled and dimed: There was a nice gym, for which I had to pay per use, slow wireless internet (also pay per use) with an annoying login interface. There was a perfectly fine breakfast buffet, which was included in the room, but which they tried to charge me for on the way out. The staff are generally friendly, multilingual, and, one gets the sense, accustomed to interacting with guests who are irritated with the way the hotel is run. Mehr

Excellent the ubication and excellent room, service. it was an unforgetable expirence at this hotel

The hotel is a five star hotel but I think the decor it is a little dated and while the service was good it was not up to what you would expect from a UK or Irish 5 star hotel. In saying that the rate reflected this and I would stay again. The room was big, comfortable and quite fitted our requirements.

We only stayed for one night and had booked a standard room with a double bed. On being shown to our room it actually had two single beds pushed together. The decor was very shabby and old looking and there were a few hairs from the previous occupant in the bathroom. We did have breakfast included in the price of the stay and this was very good. […]  But quality was what you would expect from any hotels in England regardless of the star rating. Overall I don't think we will stay here again. I don't believe that this hotel should be rated as five star, maybe a 3/4!!! Mehr

My family and I recently stayed at the Princesa Sofia. The hotel and its staff were first class. The concierge were really attentive and most helpful when it came to us asking all sorts of questions about accessing the sights of Barcelona. You can also save money during your stay by purchasing a bus tourist pack which reduces the cost of the sight seeing […] bus tours as well as other attractions. Unbeknown to us the concierge had also established from my husbands passport that it was his birthday during our stay and delivered a complimentary bottle of champagne, which was a really nice touch and demonstrated their commitment to caring for their customers and hiigh levels of custmer service. Everything about the hotel was faultless; comfort, cleanliness and high standards of decor and finishes. There is a secure underground car park to the hotel which you have to pay extra for. I would highly recommend this hotel if you want somewhere really nice to stay in Barcelona. Mehr

The overall impression from staff to facilities was fabulous. I only have one complaint; the in room TV channels offered no children or family channels in English and there was no facility to purchase family movies which meant entertaining the family at night we had no choice but to leave the hotel. Food, staff, room cleanliness etc were great.

We were very impressed and surprised at the quality, service & location of this hotel. We opted for the club-level service which significantly exceed our expectations. The club-level included free access to a fully stocked bar and some really nice food including fresh fruit. Our family regularly ate our meals there and we were able to save a small bundle […] as a result. It is also very close to Camp Nou, which is the home field of the Barcelona soccer (football) team. Given this, it is not unusual to see star soccer players at the hotel. Indeed, in our case we were actually able to hang with Ibrahamovic at the hotel - who, by the way, is a REALLY nice person. We booked a Club Room, and had free acces to the Club Lounge, free drinks, snack food, alcohol etc We also had free acces to pool and fitness. We used the pool area a lot, as we had our 2 year old son with us. Breakfast buffet is amazing, but use the one in Contraste restaurant, not the club lounge one. All staff speaks great english, staff seems competent […] and are very friendly. We especially enjoyed the waiters, who are older guys(+50), who are funny and efficient. Mehr

Excellent service overall

Wow, we found this hotel and the staff to be absolutely delightful. The staff on the front desk were pleasant, friendly and helpful, with useful and accurate information. We booked the comfort double, which was a tastefully decorated bedroom, very clean and the bathroom was lovely too . The bed was incredibly comfortable, in fact we slept better in […] the hotel room than we do at home:-). We were surprised at how quiet the room was in spite of it being at the front of the hotel. I had a problem with the light in the bedroom and there was an engineer up within 10 minutes to sort it out, much to my embarassment the light switch worked when he tried:-/. Our deal included breakfast, which was a big plus as most hotels in spain don't really do deals including breakfast. We didn't drink at the bar or eat dinner in the restaurant, so can't comment on them. Barcelona is definitely not short of good places to eat, there are a few restaurants around the corner from the hotel but we didn't think the food or service at these restaurants was good, in fact we found the service at a restaurant called mango incredibly rude, the food there didn't make up for the rude service either and was quite expensive considering. This hotel is a 3 min walk from the metro station, maria cristina, so travelling to and from the sights and attractions was easy. Mehr

great 5-star hotel, with exceptional breakfast included. the towels are extremely soft, they change sheets nightly, great service.

Pricessa Sofia is in a great location, within walking distances to shoppping centers, bus and metro lines. The room is comfortable, specious, particularly the bathroom. Carpet has spots and looks worn, so needs replacement. Breakfast buffet is plentiful

The room was fitted out for a disabled person and had a very low shower unit and no bath. The main foyer of the hotel was quite dated and would need to be modernised. Also, the clearing of used tables in the dining room was quite slow as was the service at times. A EUR12 per use charge for the main gym/spa was much too high for paying guests.

No hay secador

Viajo a Barcelona a menudo por trabajo. Me he quedado en vários hoteles y tengo que decir que este es en el que me encuentro más cómoda. Por su situación, por la amabilidad de trato y los servicios disponibles. Seguro que volveré en breve

Bel Hôtel un peu veillissant mais reste trés correct. Personnel agréable. Seul bémol: Le parking. 30€ pour la nuit c'est cher. Au tarif de la chambre, le parking devrait être offert!!!

Me gustó , pero cogí la categoria Club debido a que la habitación que ustedes me ofrecieron no era muy grande. Por lo demás todo estuvo bien
