Pulitzer - Barcelona

Wenn man Pech hat, landet man in einer winzigen Zimmer. Ich hatte ein D´Zimmer für allein Benutzung bestellt. Bekommen habe ich 2 kleine Betten und nur 190 lang. Das Zimmer war extrem klein. Beim reklamieren, wurde mich ein anderes Zimmer gezeigt. Es war noch kleiner mit Sicht auf einem Innenhof praktisch ohne Tageslicht jedoch mit einem grossen Bett. […] Weil ich das nicht angenommen habe, wurde mich ein weiteres Zimmer gezeigt, da hat es ein Elektrisches Problem gegeben. Beim 4.mal und viel Liftfahrten, bekam ich endlich ein Zimmer wohl sehr klein aber ok. Schlimm war es als ich um 01.00 Uhr in der Nacht ins Zimmer kam und nicht einschlaffen konnte, es war der Massen lärmig, dass ich mich eine Null erholen konnte. Nur eine Nacht Geschäftlich in Barcelona, aber fix und fertig zurück nach Hause geflogen! Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit ausser die an der Rezeption. Ich glaube, dass im Hotel gar nicht gerne haben wenn die Leute per Internet buchen mit irgend ein Anbieter. Die bessere Zimmer lassen sie für Direkt Buchungen. Mehr

Good hotel in a excellent location for seeing the sights - an oasis of calm in a busy tourist area . Rooms and the hotel itself were clean and modern and to a good standard (rooms were perhaps a liitle small, but as you would expect from a hotel in the city centre) adn ours had a balcony and good view. The hotel is only about 10mins walk from the Aerobus bus stop at Plaza Catalunya. Location is really convenient as it is near to metro, city sightseeing bus stop and the interesting La Rambla shops & cafes. Starbucks and supermarket (Carrefour) are nearby too. This is a cool nice upscale hotel. I definitely like the design great food, rooms and lounge. Of course its hotel prices. The only negatives its it a busy area so you are going to hear the outside traffic and people in the morning, especially if you are on lower floors.

Everything about the hotel is OK. However the breakfast is not value for money. Also would suggest the hotel consider putting in a readily accessible drinking fountain or hot water dispenser. It is so inconvenient to get hot water for hot drinks into the room

This hotel is lovely - the location is fantastic: close to all the main sights, particularly La Rambla, yet quiet and not disturbed by all that is going on outside. My girlfriend and I stayed for three nights in the Pulitzer in January. The hotel offered a fairly small but clean and quiet room with a refreshingly modern interior design, french doors and a bath tub. The hotel staff was friendly, although we never really relied on them for advice or food. The Pulitzer is however perfectly situated right in the heart […] of Barcelona, just next to Plaza Catalunya, with plenty of shopping and restaurants close by - and this is a major factor. Typical of flights from US to Europe, you arrive sleepless and before sunrise; we got early morning to the Pulitzer expecting a room the soonest possible in the afternoon, to our surprise, very kind personnel told us that our room was ready! ...not common nowadays. The Pulitzer has reasonable rates, contemporary style and is centrally located across […] Plaza Catalunya, where all transportation means are available (airport bus, turibus, subway, bikes); anything you need at walking distance. Most importantly, if you do healthy life style, this is one of the very few smoking free accommodations in Barcelona. Mehr

Excellent hotel & location. Front desk very friendly, helpful with all our questions; suggested what bus tours to take, where to eat dinner & breakfast. Close to ship port; they called a cab for us when needed; included free internet at hotel next door. Had a slight problem with the shower & it was less than a minute for someone to come & fix it. The Pulitzer has an outstanding location, less than s block from Placa de Catalunya and Las Ramblas - and a Starbucks. Las Ramblas reminds one of a Paris Boulevard and Placa de Catalunya is a transportation hub, including the popular hop-on, hop-off tour busses. The hotel is ultra modern. So modern we had trouble figuring out the high-tech automated […] lights in the room. The room was very nice and comfortable, with a flat screen TV and internet service. The bathroom was ultra modern. The restaurant has a nice patio and excellent food although we felt the breakfast buffet, although nice and extensive, was overpriced so we ate at Starbucks, which also had free (and better) internet service. On opposite end of the block from Starbuck,s on Las Ramblas is FNAC, a French department store, which has sidewalk tables and a really good self-service cafe for breakfast and lunch. The hotel staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. But, be warned, when getting directions from them, a "ten minute" walk to them can take up to 30 minutes for the rest of us. Modern contemporary hotel. Rooms are comfortable and more than adequate. Worth the price.

The hotel Pulitzer is clean and comfortable. It's location is within 5 minutes walk to the Hop on Hop off bus stop and about 10 minutes walk to RAMBLAS. Although the area where the hotel is situated on seems safe, it's best to always be on guard! The hotel staff were nice and helpful got us transportation to the airport on time. my husband andi stayed at the hotel pulitzer for five nights. this hotel has great service...lobby is a good place to relax after a day of touring. the terrace located on the top floor has sofas and is another place to relax. At night the terrace serves food and drinks. the room we had located on the fifth floor and directly on bergara with a terrace […] was unusually quiet for that part of the city...directly off the la rambla. the metro and hop on off bus were very close. i highly recommend booking the hotel with hotels.com and including the buffet breakfast. the hotel is close to starbucks so you could have a small breakfast there but the buffet is wonderful. Fresh fruit,yogart...eggs...quiche...ham...turkey...cheese and the best assortment of breads. book this hotel. i did visit 5 star hotels such as le meridien and the room was not much larger. Mehr

Much to love about this hotel except horrible bathroom make-up lighting and very scary dangerous tub and glass shower swinging door, no grab bars and slippery floor. If you are older and these matter, just be aware these are built in hazards. The lighting might be good for men but it is down right unflattering for women.

Hotel Pulitzer was fabulous . Located in a great area of Barcelona and fantastic staff. The lobby and roof are unbeatable!

The hotel is in a great location only minutes from the main tourist areas of Barcelona. The hotel is a boutique style property of a good 4 star stanard. Staff were helpful and I would stay again at this property.

Puliter is a very clean, modern and well located hotel. Very close to the la rumba (sp) and marina. Staff are very helpful and will do everything for their guests. I would definately stay there again.

We stayed at the Pullitzer for two nights. The room was quite excellent. The hotel is very centrally located near many quality restaurants. The receptionist was very helpful, made excellent recommendations and helped us in every way he could. An excellent experience and will be back.

Just returned from a holiday in Barcelona and would highly recommend this hotel! Amazing location, friendly staff, very clean and interesting. Comfortable beds, quiet, great rooftop bar, Starbucks around the corner. Bar prices are higher than they should be, lower them and more clients would drink there than going elsewhere. Did not go to the restaurant […] but the prices there are too high as well especially when there are many great places to eat very close by. The Hotel Pulitzer was very comfortable, convenient, and centrally located. We were able to walk one block to the subway and La Rambla. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean, comfortable and well-designed. Staff spoke English, Spanish and Catalan, and helpful with recommendations and generally very well-disposed and welcoming. Ideally positioned for any visitor to Barcelona. Were it larger and with more facilities, it would be a 5 star - the rooms were certainly of a 5 star standard.

When we arrived at the hotel the over all impression was very good and the reception staff were helpful. The room on the first floor was very clean, tidy and comfortable. The hotel is in the perfect location to visit all the attractions with the Tourist buses leaving from Paca de Cataluya which is only a 5 minute walk away. Unfortunately our room was […] rather noise due to the reception level activity and the walls are thin. One of the worst hotel stays of my life. We arrived after a long flight, and were simply looking to check into our room and find some food near by before going to sleep for the night. The hotel staff ignored us for 10+ min at the front desk while they continued a personal phone call. When we finally did get into our room, we saw a cockroach in the bathtub. […] We then went down to the front desk again for a reccomendation on where to get some quick food, and received nothing but attitude from the hotel staff again, because we were trying to eat before 7 pm when most resturantes open for the evening. We weren't looking for something fancy, and the woman simply looked at us the entire time as though we were annoying her, and how ignorent we were to be trying to eat so early. The last thing I ever want from hotel staff is attitude, and everyone we encountered had more than was acceptable. Mehr

Excellent location located just off the Plaza Catalunya in. Easy to get to after coming off Airport bus shuttle. Great location to walk to neighbouring attractions. Room was clean, modern but slightly small. Free wifi is a big plus. Overall good base for visiting Barcelona attraction

You're not going to beat this location. The hotel is located where the La Rambla and La Rambla Catalunya meet and where about 100 yards from where many tour buses start and end (Placa Catalunya) The room was quite small and the bed was short, as I'm 6'1 and some change. My wife was fine but my feet hung over the bed. But despite the small room, it was […] an exceptionally decorated room. The shower was awesome, great pressure. The staff was amazing and catered to all our needs and recommended great restaurants and tourist locations. Our stay was during St. Jordi's Festival and the hotel gave us flowers and a book, in the true tradition of St. Jordi. Only problem was the awesome rooftop bar was closed due to maintenance and this initially was a big draw for us. Mehr

Great hotel, a very desirable location with good service. Highly recommend it as it's near Barcelona's city center, hop-on/hop-off tourist bus station and bus staion to Barcelona airport:) Lot's of restaurants, shopping and things to do.

Had the best stay here not only is this a chic boutique hotel, but the rooms and the lounge area was exactly what I was looking for without the pretentious or touristy crowd. Couldn't have asked for a better experience and you can't beat the location. Felt like a queen, loved the bathrobes and patio. Although there were many commendable features to this hotel (e.g., clean, quiet), there were a couple of problems that were unexpected in a four star hotel. First, the light switches interacted with one another, so pressing one switch had different results depending on the settings of other light switches. Despite considerable trial and error, we were […] unable to switch off the ceiling lights without turning off all the other lights, including the bathroom lights. The second problem was that there was no hand hold in the shower/bath, which made it potentially dangerous. Also, the shower leaked onto the floor, causing a pool of water to accumulate. Mehr

The staff was very accommodating and helpful. We stayed at 3 different hotels over the course of our trip to Spain and this one is definately at the top ( even over one 5 star hotel). We chose this hotel as we wanted somewhere central but relatively quiet and it fitted the bill perfectly. It is a lovely boutique hotel on a side street off Place de Cataluna. The staff was excellent and the accommodation was very good. We had requested a room with ample space and the two rooms we were given were excellent. The hotel has a lovely restaurant […] for breakfast, part of which is outdoors and it also has a roof terrrace where you can have evening drinks - both of which were welcome in the August heat! Only slight downside was the noise from other rooms. This did not disturb us too much, but it may affect you if you are a light sleeper or have particularly noisey neighbours. The Pulitzer is centrally located near tourist sights, good restaruants, shopping and the famous la ramblas. It is 1 minute from the airport bus (only 5.05 euros) and many information booths. This lovely hotel is very clean with rooms that are air conditioned, with a safe, bar fridge and little balcony.The buffet breakfast is fabulous and reception […] staff are very helpful.
