The Palace Bonvecchiati is a clean and modern hotel in location that is great to head out from each day (and to come back to at night). It's less than 10 minutes relaxed walk from public waterbus stop at San Marco, and less from Rialto Bridge (if you come that way). Yet you are back from the crowded places. The coffee at breakfast could be better (you can order a cappuccino or other, than being given the default black stuff), but that's the only down tick. The staff are very helpful indeed. Concierge wasn't bothered about helping us with luggage on arrival. Given a disabled bedroom & told hotel was full despite booking it 3 weeks in advance through hotels.com

Our initial room smelt of drains and sewage and there were pubic hairs all over the bathroom, not what you want on your anniversary. We complained and were upgraded the following night but had to endure one night in horrible conditions. The hotel was nice, breakfast buffet very good and staff helpful, the spa was very nice. However rooms were not that […] nice and it is very expensive for what you get. Plus you are limited to 30mins in the spa which I think is extremely unfair. It is a nice hotel but for the price you pay its extremely disappointing. I stayed in a hotel in Florence before going to Venice for half the price for a night longer and it was a lot nicer. Would advise to look elsewhere puerly down to the cost - not good value for money. Expected a lot more for the price. Mehr

Palace Bonvecchiati was our final stay after 7 wonderful weeks away. What a great position this Hotel is in right between Rialto Bridge and St Marks. We arrived by train into Venice and caught the vaporetto to Rialto Bridge turn right when you get off across one set of stairs, take first left down a narrow lane and follow it for about 400 meters and […] then you're there. Don't be afraid to ask along the way if you aren't sure, everyone is very helpful. The Hotel is modern and very stylish, the bed very comfortable, not much room for suitcases. The bathroom was large and the shower is quirky, an exhaust fan in the room would have been good. Breakfast is great and the terrace overlooks a small canal so you can watch the gondolas going by. We had dinner at the restaurant one night and the food was fabulous. I would definitely recommend this Hotel, it was really good and the staff were very helpful. Take a trip to Murano Island while you're there, it's worth it. Mehr

Great value for the money in Venice!! Perfect location and very accommodating staff. I read many other reviews before selecting the Palace Bonvecchiati and while not all the reviews were perfect, our visit was nothing other than wonderful!

It's excellent hotel. I spent comfortable time during stay. Breakfast is also good.

Just got back from Venice and thought I would share a few opinions on the hotel. Fantastic location, lovely clean, fresh and well presented and I could not find any fault. I would definately use this hotel again and I can't give it a better recommendation than that.

Grate Hotel and position.!! I book room 1 day before trip, so I can complein.. we get a room on first floor with view on air conditioner ))) --- nice. I'll be back . Recommend !! Denis

Very comfortable hotel, have already recommended it to friends who will be staying there next week. Great location, room and service.

The hotel is gorgeous and within about a 5-7 minute walk from both the Rialto Bridge and San Marco Sq (if you can figure out the best route which took us a day). The staff wasn't friendly. When we checked in they put us in a handicap room overlooking the air conditioning unit. The bathroom (given it was accessible) looked nothing like the photos. I […] also was offended because I have a relative in a wheelchair and she many times has found herself in situations were the handicapped room she reserved was given away. Regardless, I called down and asked for a different room. He called back 5 minutes later and said they had one room available but it had 2 twins next to each other instead of a double bed. We took it. The room was very large by any standard, not just European. The bathroom was big and elegantly designed. When we inquired about a side trip to Murano they said they have a boat that takes people for free and puts you on a tour and they arrange to get you back. We went with a couple other guests. When we got off, we asked the driver how we get back and he said, he didn't know ask the glass tour guide and that man said take a taxi (about $60 euros) or a water bus. So they drop you off but don't arrange for you to get back. We went on the tour and took a bus back after walking around the town. All in all, the hotel was the nicest of all the 4 star places we stayed on the trip. I loved the actual space, just didn't like how the whole room assignment was orignally handled. Just another note, we took a gondola ride, it costs $80 euros for 30 minutes but well worth it. Apparently, they all charge the same amount. Mehr

Yeah, Venice is an old city, a city-museum in itself, but that doesn't mean I want an old Venetian Style hotel. If you want to enjoy Venice, but pay very reasonable rates for the most modern and gorgeous hotel in touristy Venice, then this is the place to be. A 7 minute walk from the number 1 and number 2 waterbus station. Here's a tip. If coming from […] the airport, take the number 5 bus to Venice. The last stop is Piazzala Roma (I think that's the name). Once you're at Piazzala Roma, buy the round-trip ticket for the Waterbus. Take the number 2 waterbus if possible, or the number 1. Get off the Rialto Bridge stop. Follow the site's little map to walk to the hotel. If you miss a street or two, just ask one of the shopkeepers or mailman where is calle de Ferrio and the hotel shall be found. Your luggage better have wheels or you'll have a nice sweaty workout trudging your way to the hotel. Loved the room. Don't worry about the view since you'll be too busy trotting around Venice anyway. Also, the hotels that are on the Grand Canal, guess what? It's a 50-50 shot you'll get you'll get the canal view at the other hotels, and it's a decent chance you may get a view of the small side canal from this hotel, but seriously, who cares? The bathroom is great and is accessible for handicapped folks as well (no, I'm not physically handicapped, but most of these Venetian hotels are not handicapped-friendly and that can be a major asset to a wheelchair bound person). The elevators are spacious. The Superior room, which is generally smaller than the other rooms, is still a very nice size and comfortable. The bed is nice and I even had a great dream while sleeping on it. Granted, being American, I'm used to huge hotel rooms, but this room really was big, especially for European standards. Modern, clean, stylish, and in a great central, yet quiet location.

We had deluxe rooms for our stay and thought they were wonderful. They were clean, fresh and light. The hotel staff were always helpful and polite. Breakfast was the standard buffet and whilst the room was on the small side we didnt have a problem with this. The location was fantastic - a short walk to the rialto bridge in one direction and St Marks […] square in the other. Would recommend staying here. Mehr

We booked 2 rooms. One of the rooms were a single room which they claimed to be double after we complained we had to spend one night in the single room, but received a much better room for the following 2 nights. We had to pay expenses for TV/Internet which we did not use and when we complained the Hotel Manager was adamant that we pay for this unused […] serives. The service I received from the hotel staff was appalling. The location is very good though. Mehr

Excellent hotel. Modern decor, clean spacious rooms, excellent variety for breakfast. Three mins from either St. Mark's Square or the Rialto Bridge, ideal location for vaperettos and main sights. Staff are courteous and knowledgeable.

Excellent hotel. Fantastic big room for venice. Breakfast was ok. Conceirge were ok as well but could have facilitated late check out for the price of the hotel. Also, reccomendations of restaurants and cost of gondola ride and water taxi very expensive at hotel. You can get a better price from right outside the hotel. Central location. great location: 2 blocks to san marco's sq. very comfortable, brand new hotel. we had a great time. all the modern amenities, great free breakfast.

The only hard part was finding the hotel (which was not easy in Venice). Once we found it, we loved every aspect. The hotel has a modern interior, clearly contradicting the surroundings but in a great way. The room was exceptionally comfortable, including the bathroom and closets. The fitness center had only a few pieces of cardio equipment but it was […] top shelf and very roomy. Once you learn you way around, you realize how convenient the hotel really is (halfway between Rialto and San Marco), and we heard no room noise at all. The staff could not have been more helpful regarding restaraunts, directions, etc. All in all, a wonderful hotel experience. Mehr

Wow, I was really impressed. The staff & facility were excellent and the location was super. The only real challenge was locating it on a map as Venice is filled with street names that start & end at odd places, only to find that the street continues around another corner.

This hotel was a cool and calm oasis in the centre of a very hot and busy city. The location was extremely central which meant nipping back on foot during the day to cool off or rest was easy. Staff courteous and helpful when required but otherwise unobtrusive. Lovely breakfast with fresh fruit salad etc.

Everything is good except problem with paid Internet service (not hotel's problem although I wished the hotel would have offered better Internet services).

Location is great. We went there in the winter and there was no hot water in the morning at around eight and we have to wait for an hour for hot water (probably every body is taking showers). We were almost later for the breakfast buffet after taking showers. We had a drink at the bar at night and the price and service was not up to standard. This hotel is in a perfect location just 3 minutes walk either direction to St Marks and the Rialto Bridge. The hotel is beautifully presented, spotlessly clean throughout - looking exactly like it does in the photographs. The room was very spacious, very comfortable and very clean. There is a lovely bright and airy breakfast room with a good selection […] to set you up for the morning stroll (before you stop for elevenses of course!). Staff were very attentive to any request - including in the run up to the holiday itself. And while the hotel is actually on quite a busy thoroughfare during the day - it is lovely and peaceful and night and there were no noise problems. All told highly recommended by two very satisfied customers. Only caveat would be to watch for the offer of the 'free tour' to the Murano Glass factory - this was a ONE WAY water taxi trip followed by some seriously high pressured selling. But Murano itself is lovely and worth a stroll and is actually well serviced by water buses for the return journey. Mehr

Easy to find great location, staff very helpful and the room was spotless when we arrived. Room cleaned twice every day. The continental breakfast was excellant, and filled us up for most of the day. The only thing missing was a kettle in the room for coffee, but most hotels abroad do not have kettles in the bedroom

Just returned from Venice and without a doubt Palace Bonvecchiati is a superb modern hotel that i highly recommend. Only quip would be to make sure when you book to not get the superior room. The room is small and bathrooms are awful! We inquired and were quickly moved to the next tier of rooms. Loved loved loved the room. Very comfortable with plenty […] of room. The hotel is less than 5 min from San Marco Square. A couple of tips...get a water taxi to the hotel from the airport if you can afford it...makes life a LOT easier! Also be sure to book a table at the restaurant just across from the hotel on the corner. AMAZING! Mehr

I had looked at loads of hotels in Venice but decided on this one for the location and modern decor/facilities, although it was not the cheapest we could have chosen. We paid for a superior room but were upgraded (without asking) to a deluxe with a view of the canal. The room was large and extremely comfy with slippers included! It was cleaned twice […] a day and clean towels provided each time too. The only slight complaint was that early each morning, we could hear noise from the canal. It was in a great position between the Rialto bridge and San Marco Sq so not much walking to either. We had a late departure and asked if we could keep our room a while longer and were able to do this for no extra charge. We would definitely stay again! Mehr

The Palace Bonvecchiati is an excellent hotel in a fabulous location only a few minutes walk from the Rialto bridge and St Marks square. As a base for a short city break it therefore gives you access to all of the main sights of Venice within a very short time. The area is full of character and has lots of restaurants and coffee shops to choose from […] - just make sure to check the prices before you go in to avoid a nasty surprise later. The hotel was very modern and clean with access to all of the modern conveniences you would expect, fluffy robes and comfy slippers included. The breakfast menu was fairly broad, but if you want items which are not usually available it is charged for as an extra. These charges are expensive by UK standards and also apply to leisure facilities such as the sauna and tv/movie channels. Would I go back? Absolutely and I would enjoy every minute of it. Mehr

We very much enjoyed the stay in the hotel. The room was very clean, modern and felt quite new. The only slight critisism was the room size and hnging space. The room was compact but a very acceptable King size bed. More cupboard space would have been helpful. Excellent bathroom with shower only, modern well appointed clean and warm. Very nice hotel in an excellent location. Rooms clean, bed comfortable and nice breakfast. Only complaint is room was a bit small. Would stay here again.

Very close to all the major attractions, room was very clean and people were very helpful.

We were very pleased with our stay. The hotel is located right between the Rialto Bridge and San Marco Plaza. It is well furnished, immaculate, bed was comfortable, service was outstanding. We would only suggest that you not take them up on the free trip to Murano Island. A great city break hotel that is close to Saint Mark's Square but still a good deal as we got an excellent package. Winter is definitely the best time to go and you can stay in a hotel of this quality for a fraction of the normal cost. Bodde där i 4dagar för första gången i Venedig! Hotellet har bra läge men långt ifrån den standard en fyrstjärnig hotell kan erbjuda! Rummet vi bodde på rum 365 som var handikappanpassad varför just vi fick det rummet fast vi hade bokat 2månader innan resan har jag ingen aning om. Vi bad om att byta till ett annat rum, men det var redan fullbokad! Synd […] för oss men vi var ändå inte på rummet så ofta. Spa avdelningen är ett skämt. Frukosten var ok, uppmärksam personal! Men åker jag tillbaka till Venedig blir det inte denna hotell igen. Tyckte helt enkelt inte det var värt det vi betalade för. Mehr

O Hotel é muito novo, decoração muito chique, limpo e com café da manha muito gostoso! Além de tudo é bem localizado! Perto da Praça de Sao Marcos.

zeer goed en netjes ontbijt kon beter qua kwaliteit. teveel zoet en koffie niet lekker. fruitsap limonadesmaak verder alles zoveel je wil conclusie : aanrader prijs, kwaliteit

Hotellet har en perfekt beliggenhet i forhold til alle fasiliteter i Venezia. Svært imøtekommende og hyggelig personell som gjorde alt for at vi skulle trives. Hotellet virket nyrenovert med lyse farger og topp Italiensk design. Meget høy standard. Sett i forhold til pris og beliggenhet kan hotellet virkelig anbefales.

Hotellet lå dejligt centralt i gå -afstand til alt. .Meget rent og pænt på værelset og morgenmaden var super. Venlig og hjælpsomt personale.
