San Jose Marriott Downtown - San José

Wir sind nur für 1 Nacht in San Jose gewsen, auf der Durchreise von Monterey nach San Francisco, um uns ein Heimspiel der Sharks anzuschauen, 1. Spieltag NHL-Saison 2011/2012. Das Hotel liegt perfekt dafür, befindet sich mitten in Downtown, ca. 15 Gehminuten zum Stadion in einer netten und sicheren Umgebung. Es sind auch viele Bars in unmittelbarar […] Nähe. Am meisten haben mir die Betten gefallen, das war die wohl angenehmste Nacht im ganzen Urlaub, sehr sehr bequem. Am nächsten Morgen haben wir noch das Fitnessstudio genutzt und den Außenpool sowie den Jacuzzi. War auch alles sehr schön und gepflegt. Bei meinem nächsten San Jose-Aufenthalt bin ich sicher wieder im Marriott. Tolles Preis-Leistungsverhältnis! Mehr

Staff was very helpful and extremely polite.

Beautiful hotel. Reasonably priced food choices. Not as close to other restaurants as I was hoping as it was raining during my stay so it was more convenient to just eat at hotel. By the time I went to the steakhouse for dinner they had already stopped taking reservations, but it was only around 7:30--thankfully I could sit at the bar and order from […] the full menu. I had to take a taxi back to airport. I asked the man who opened the door for me, who was the bellman or valet guy how I can get a taxi. He only pointed me in the direction. Up until that point I was very satisfied, and nothing was wrong. But I thought it was their job to help their guests, not just let their guests help themselves. Mehr

Annoyingly, the Marriott San Jose blocks access to SJ's "Free Downtown WiFi" from hotel guest rooms. A Marriott front desk clerk acknowledged the free WiFi blocking policy and encouraged me to comment in the hotel guest survey since management has been unresponsive. She noted free access IS available in the lobby...or outside in Plaza de Cesar Chavez […] park. Google: "press release san jose free downtown wifi" touting benefits to the community and visitors. Marriott's valet-only parking policy is similarly deceptive. Valet parks your car in the PUBLIC, Convention Center garage connected to the hotel for a generous daily fee. Marriott provides no guest access to the garage. Surprisingly the huge public garage, literally next door to the hotel entrance, has no visible signage on the street. Odd, considering the SJ Mercury News' characterization of the chronically deficit plagued San Jose city budget. Except for the glacially slow coffee service in the Marriott-operated, lobby Starbucks, Marriott employees were generally clean, courteous and responsive; a miracle considering the deceptive operating policies management has saddled them with. You charge for everything and dont give many amenities. Coffee in room was not pleasant. Other than that it was ok.

Spent one night here with the girlfriend and found it robe covienenly located and easy access to parking. The lobby was clean and roomy. The rooms and hallway were also clean and decorated nicely. To me the Marriott had a more business appeal to it with the number of suits walking around. We were attending the Chicago Blackhawks-San Jose Sharks hockey game and this hotel is within 10 mins of the venue and all the bars along Santa Clara. Perfect for our family trip!

I booked two rooms at this hotel this past weekend because my sons and I were attending the Chicago Blackhawks-San Jose Sharks hockey game at the HP Pavilion. If you are going with a large group where a block of rooms have been reserved, better get there early if you want to get the 2 beds you reserved, they sell more than the have available! This is a real problem when you have 4 people in your room, someone ends up on the floor! Also, the service is VERY slow when requesting additional towels or bedding, […] then don't appear the be prepared for large groups at all. Nice enough hotel, perfect location but the cost for parking, No free internet in the room, high cost of the restaurants...it adds up to nearly staying at the Fairmont. The Fairmont is a MUCH nicer hotel or perhaps the Deanza. The added costs for the Marriot are not appreciated.

It was a great hotel in terms of location. However, there was what appeared to be menstrual blood on the comforter. I won't be staying there again.

Not too impressed. Room was quite small with gooey sticky substance smeared on furniture. toilet did not work properly. Windows do not open at all, so one feels a bit claustrophobic. HVAC and pumming make noise thoughout the night keeping you awake. Hotel public areas are nice looking, staff is friendly and room service is good. Nice hotel and close to HP Pavillion. Only drawback is $26/night parking fee.

We did not enjoy our stay. We did not get what we booked. My daughter got a roll away bed. No blanket and no pillow. We calle about 5 times for the stuff it never came up. My daughter was so cold that night. They were not prepared for the event. They were out of everything. Not a good trip.

For the same price, stay at one of the other hotels downtown. There were no coffee cups for the in room coffee and it took almost an hour for room service to deliver a pot of coffee. The room was average and a bit worn, but clean.

It said $6 non-valet parking and they said they had no more parking and forced us into $25 valet. Then at check-in we're told no more double bed rooms only single beds. They offered a roll-away bed but its not acceptable I booked my room for 3 almost 2 weeks in advanced.

Hair in the tub and a long hair on my towel.. Gross! Bed was zero support.

Our hotel was very nice. Very expensive restaurant, and room service. Parking is $20 next door. No overnight on street parking available.

Valet parking area is a bit unorganized and crowded, but hey it's downtown. It's crowded everywhere.

the receptionist is good, but I don't feel comfortable in the room because the bathtub looked too old to me. there were a lot of dark spots in the bathtub made me thought it is dirty. My husband liked to drink coffee in the morning, but there were no cup to put in the coffee maker, but we have to check out early so I don't mind to call room service. […] Anyway we disatisfied for the room Mehr

Nice hotel and room BUT the management allowed a loud partying group to go on all night. They finally stopped them, after multiple complaints were made from us and others, at about 2am. But they started up again alittle after 5am. Completely unacceptable. Ruined our whole stay. First time we've ever had to make a negative review about any hotel. Car damaged by valet and they did everything possible to convince they didn't do it. Said the video proved differently so I said show me the videow, The video didn't support their comments. Breakfast included in my room price but no one made comments when I checked in nor did they explain arrangement, I had to ask, then the wait staff in hotel was a […] bit rude when I told them breakfast was included......nice hotel, needs to be tightened up on the management of the staff actions. Loves this modern and luxurious hotel. We were upgraded to a JR Suite on the corner overlooking downtown streets, very cool! Had a wonderful buffet breakfast. Would love to stay there again and take advantage of the gym and spa.

Excellent hotel and restaraunt with the exception of no muffins for breakfast and shower water varying in temp, location very satuisfactory for the downtown area that we attended for meetings.

We chose this hotel because of the positive reviews and because of its very convenient location. While we were very pleased with the great rate we scored through hotels.com, we were disappointed with the expensive valet parking rate and fact that we couldn't retrieve something from our car. The worst part, however, was that the mattress was thoroughly […] worn out. We stayed 2 nights, and had to switch sides because one side of the mattress was so bad. We both had back aches. Room shows many signs of wear, and is not really set up for two people. Room service menu very limited. Low rate and location made it bearable, but I wouldn't return. Mehr

Hotel is nice, but I wish I would have known that it was a valet parking only situation ($26/day). I personally hate valet service and would rather just park my own car.. but that's just me. There is a parking garage about a block away that is $20/day, which is pretty spacious. Also, this hotel is in the middle of a marathon hot spot. The surrounding […] roads get blocked off for these events, which makes getting around by car a little tricky. One of the locals told us there are actually quite a few of these events, so keep that in mind when booking here. On the plus side, it is within walking distance of nice restaurants, coffee shops, museum and shopping. If I had the option of parking my own car at the hotel and not had to worry about how I was going to navigate the crowds and blocked roads with my car just to get away from the hotel, I would have rated it a little higher. Very nice, clean hotel. Great location, downtown within walking distance of great resturants, museums,convention center. Everything was great except for the parking fee of $26/day.

My stay at the San Jose Marriott was great. The hotel was clean. The service was great. I love their customer service. This has been the best hotel and service ever. All the other hotels that I've stayed at has no comparison to this one. I will make sure to recommend you to all my friends and relatives. Keep up the good work. Centrally located and near the highways (101 and 280) and was ideal to stay in a downtown city setting and in less than an hour make it to Big Basin/Redwoods and Santa Cruz. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. The gym and pool was great. I only wished the bar/lounge area (Tanq) stayed opened later. I think it closed around 11.

Quick and easy to check in and out...clean and comfortable bed. Would stay here again. There is a valet parking fee to park ur car.

This hotel was ok, I expected better from Marriott the $4 bottle of water in my room had the seal open when I requested a replacement it never arrived. Overall I rate this hotel 3 1/2 to 4 stars.......The filet mignon was excellent and the valet were quick and courteous...
