freundliches Haus mit freundlichem hilfsbereitem Personal, einfach ausgestattet entprechend der Kategorie 2 Sterne, ein Haus mit Charakter und morbidem Charme. Die Lage ist traumhaft! Kurze Wege zum Ocean Drive und ins Spanische Viertel. Wir hatten ein Zimmer seitlich zum Nachbarhaus/Innenhof - relativ ruhige gelegen, trotz tosendem Verkehr auf der […] Collins Ave und Spring Break. Die Klimaanlage ist laut, weshalb wir sie nachts ausmachten. Das Frühstücksbufet ist lecker mit Müsli, Cornflaces, Milch, Saft, Bananen, Toast, Marmelade, Kaffee u.v.m.... Die Aussicht vom Frühstückraum im 1. Stock auf die Collins Ave ist reizvoll. Wir waren 4 Nächte da und würden sofort wieder kommen. Wer den Komfort und Ästhetik eines 4-Sterne-Hauses benötigt, sollte ein anderes Übernachtungsdomizil wählen mit wahrscheinlich viel höheren Preisen, bzw. längeren Fussmärschen bis zum Ocean Drive. Der Ocean Drive am frühen Morgen ist farblich eine Wucht, am Nachmittag liegt er verblast im Schatten, die Geräuschkulisse ist dafür um so größer. ... ist das Island House eine Empfehlung! Das Zimmer war groß mit Miniküche und Klimaanlage. Alles etwas alt, der Boden fleckig, der Rest aber sauber. Frühstück ist einfach war für mich aber absolut OK (Kaffee soviel man will, Obst, Muffins, Bagels, ...). Für die sehr zentrale Lage geht der Preis in Ordnung. das island house ist ein sauberes und sehr freundliches haus. das frühstück ist ok,es ist ja auch kein 5 sterne haus. jeden tag werden die zimmer sauber gemacht und man bekommt jeden tag frische handtücher,auch wenn sie nicht auf dem boden liegen. und nebenan ist die pizzeria zesto,wo es lecker essen gibt und auch dort ist es sehr freundlich.zum strand […] muss man nur über die strasse gehen. ich kann das hotel nur weiter empfehlen. und werde bestimmt auch noch mal dort übernachten wenn ich noch mal in miami bin. Also der erste Eindruck (von außen) hinter ließ bei uns erstmal einen schlechten Eindruck, aber dies ist spaetestens beim Einchecken verflogen. Das dieses Hotel nicht gerade zu den modernsten Hotels Miami gehoert muss wohl allen klar sein, aber fuer den Preis sicher einer der ersten Adressen Miami's! Die Ausstattung im Zimmer ist ausreichend, Fernseher, […] kuehlschrank, sind drin, leider funktioniert im Zimmer das W-LAN Netz nicht, da wir aber Raucher sind haben wir das miteinander verbunden. Duschen haben Warmwasser und die Staerke des Wasserstrahls ist ok. Auf das Fruehstueck kann man verzichten, da es ausreichende Gelegenheiten in der Umgebung gibt. Dazu kommen wir jetzt, der Lage, die ist wirklich genial, 2 min zum Strand und 5 min in die Lincoln Road mall, dafür gibt es hoechste Punktezahl. Auch sonst gibt es reichlich Shops und Restaurants rundrum und für jeden Geldbeutel. Beim Hotel selbst muss man auch unbedingt das Super nette und immer froehliche Personal erwaehnen, das einem immer hilft. Letzendlich muss man schreiben, das es fuer das Geld nichts besseres gibt und wenn man noch Aktionstage erwischt, so wie wir dann unbedingt zugreifen und das gesparte Geld kann man dann fuer was anderes ausgeben ;-)! Einfache Unterkunft, sauber. Dusche und Badezimmer nett old-style aber nett hergerichtet. Bett groß und gut. Studio doppelt so groß wie normales Zimmer. Mit kleiner Küche + Mikrowelle. Man konnte sogar nach dem Check - Out das Gepäck an der Rezeption lagern und man bekam sogar eine Duschmöglichkeit zur Verfügung gestellt. Like most of the other properties in the area, they are very old and small. Room was clean, decent closet and dresser space, vanity area with refrigerator. Desk clerk was very helpful. Got me by for a few days while I was in town.

Overall the hotel stay was pleasant. They have the largest pool I've seen in a hotel of this type. They also have convenient amenities, but the rooms didn't have a fridge or microwave, which I would have liked. The hotel is literally right next to Legoland, and I could hear people on the rides from my room.

Great location but don't expect it to be 5 stars.

The hotel is an older property, and the wear and tear shows in the building itself. However, the room, bedding, and towels were all clean. Staff was very friendly and willing to help. Breakfast was good - fresh fruit brought in each morning, cereals, breads, juices, coffee. The location is just a couple blocks from the beach, yet not exceptionally noisy. […] The office has beach towels and matts available for guest use at no charge. Public buses stop nearby, or you can call a taxi to get around South Beach. We mostly walked. The cab ride from the airport was about 20 minutes and about $35. This is not a spring break party hotel. The two beds in the room had old mattresses that were as hard as a rock, no doubt due to their thin support material and plywood boards underneath! I would have been better off sleeping on the floor. This is a long term non upgraded old everyting motel perhaps it was built back to 1980's, you can not believe this until you see it. there is no internet access but they told you tommorow or later you maybe have one but that never happens tommorow and repeat same stories to people. even the housekeeper did not give the soaps when I was there at my second […] day. also you can not sleep well at night since too much noise from the street and the old window air condition. anyway,I wish I did not choose this one. The hotel service was good. Very nice people. The hotel itself was clean but boy did it need an upgrade! Very close to the action, which was great. Why I wouldn't recommend it is because there were "Ladys of the Evening" present. We thought it was pretty hilarious, but lots of people wouldn't.

The room was large and comfortable, but a little ragtag. The carpet was worn and badly stained, but given its proximity to the beach, it's not surprising. The staff was pleasant and escorted us to our room. We were too busy to try the full buffet.

Ricky & Madeline greeted us and made us feel comfortable. It's a small hotel but very cozy and even had towels, umbrellas, and chairs to use on the beach which is 1 block away. For the price it was a great deal. I would stay there again.

It was the worse hotel I've ever been to in my life. The writing tablet in the room included that it was an "Adult" hotel. If I knew that I would've never took my children there. It looks like a place where prostitution & drug transactions would take place. None of the staff where's uniforms or even name badges & there were roaches in my room.

I stayed here during Miami Carnival. It's not as fancy and luxurious as the other hotels but it was just what I needed. It was laid back and simple. The room was spacious and the free breakfast was decent. The staff was humble as well. There wasn't any parking or pool, but there was a lot and the beach was block away. THE BAD: This place is like a dirty youth hostel. Our room had two beds, each with an uncomfortable spring mattress. Sheets were rough. There was a burn on the floor from an iron. The room between the main living area and the bathroom smelled like body odor. There's no parking, and nearby lots are expensive or sometimes full. The location of the hotel is great. Right off of Collins and its near the beach, bars and clubs. You are right in the middle of South Beach. For the price of the room you can't beat the location. The rooms are well kept and clean. AC works great and hot water anytime.

My Boyfriend and I stood one night on Sunday beacuse we were leaving for a cruise on Monday. The location was great, everything was in walking distance. The man at the front desk was very nice and we only paid about $15 for our cab ride to the Port Of Miami the next day!!! It's kind of dated and from the outside kinda looked like a shack.... I was a little sceptical about this place from the reviews, but as i was in the taxi on the way i realised that the area was well maintained and looked okay. This hotel is literally just a 1 minute walk from the beach, out the main door, down a walkway across the little, road and you are on the path to the beach. there are other hotels on the road parallel to the beach but i cant help but think you would over pay. Ricky was great!!! Stayed one night before my cruise and is was a good price. Shower pressure was bad but everything else was fine.

The service was great. The manager was very helpful and accommodated us accordingly. Definitely will use them next year for our Youth event next year on south beach.

We stayed only one night there and it is the worst experience ever. It is dirty and uncomfortable. I would not recommend anybody to stay there!!!

The Island Hotel is nothing fancy but is great if you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel that is close to everything in South Beach. Perfect for short stays before heading out on a cruise.

Well the hotel staff was some of the nicest people I have ever meet however their hotel...... Well I didn't feel safe there we could hear everything especially and barely dressed women standing at the entrance of the hotel sayin" hey baby" suggestively to all the men who walked by. This is one of the Art Deco hotels in South beach, Miami. Convient to bus and restaurants. It is an older hotel and is clean and has a very ample continental breakfast. Kitchen was available to guests. Friendly service and rapid response to any needs. We used the hop on and off bus to see the city. A very young crowd in this beach area the average age […] is 37. Our room was spacious, slept 4 easily. (1 Queen, 1 King) Had a separate dressing area, large closet, average bathroom, and a small kitchen area (room for a small table). We stayed in Feb. & the air conditioning worked well (at least in our room). Not sure how comfortable it would be in the summer. Regarding a pool, there is not one... but who really needs it when the ocean is one block away. (bugs as in roaches and bedbugs) I do a VERY THOROUGH job investigating nooks & crannies and everywhere you can think of, new hotels, old hotels ... nothing gets by me. I'll even get up in the middle of the night on our 1st nights stay and quickly turn all the lights on to check .. NO live bugs where found. I was upset about finding a small DEAD roach under the sink cupboard.... but the room passed all other [bug] tests. The continental breakfast was plentiful with coffee,tea,juice,hot and cold cereal,bread,muffins,bagels, fresh fruit,etc. The daytime desk manager,Rick,was friendly and accommodating. At check-in,the clerk took an imprint of my credit card and asked me to sign the receipt.There were no additional charges during my stay, so I made it a point to ask for the receipt. The hotel looked so old from the outside that we were afraid about what to expect but the room was very clean and the staff was very helpful. But above all the location was great. Few minutes walks to Spanish Way, Lincoln Ave and South Beach. Considering the money we paid we would definetly stay there again

Rooms with value for money... Great location, friendly staff, big rooms, relaxed atmosphere, simple but okay breakfast. The hotel needs a brush up but if you come for the beach, the party, the food and shopping then it's quite okay.

We stay in Island House for thanks givins holiday. The hotel is an 2 stars hotel, it´s old, but clean, is true tha need a renovation, but also it´s tru the people have clean and painting o tryin to keep it ok. The employees were attents and everityme were there for us requires. In the hotel they gave us towells and beach chairs, this is important for […] my. If you want a 5 stars hotel this is not your place, but if you want one place to stay close the beach, and where you can walk safetily in the night, where you can take a walk at any time and no spend a lot of money, I think this is your place. Alsa have including breakfas, (it´s a little basic but enough to meet your hungry in the mornig. The hotel is really basic and the room small, but this is all expected for the price you're paying in such a great location. Against expectations, the manager was super nice, the room was clean and the breakfast was great and abundant. This is a great place for the price, at a superb location in Miami Beach.

Cute deco style old hotel! Our room was small & a bit noisy, but exactly what we needed & the bed was super comfy! W/in a short walk to the beach & Lincoln street shopping & eating! Ricky was great & VERY accomodating! We checked in early/before our room was ready, but Ricky let us change for the beach in another room & set us up with beach chairs, […] an unbrella & beach towels!! What a bonus!! We spent the day at the beach & when we came back he had our bags in our room ready to go! He gave us some fantastic ideas for dinner - just a short walk to Lincoln...definately where all the action is! We checked out the next morning and once again he set us up for a day at the beach & let us come back to shower before our late evening flight! We will stay again & would recommend to friends! Mehr

I was very pleased with the overall experience with Island House. The room was very clean and the Manager was very accommodating; every request we made was handled very promptly and very cordially. It's refreshing to still be able to enjoy old fashioned hospitality while also enjoyed the glitz of South Beach

The hotel had a great location on Collins Ave just south of Espanola Way but the hotel was old. The hallways were old and the bathroom tub was scratched and very old and the fixtures were all yellow from there age. The room was also very small. Great place for a group of buddies to crash in South Beach. However, I wouldn't recommend this for families or anyone used to high-end customer service. I had a great time and the location was excellent.

Great place to stay...but no parking with hotel. We just lucked up and got a parking meter right across from hotel. After midnight no charge.

Literally 2 mins away from the beach, big room, very clean and comfortable. Super breakfast with a wide selection of items (bagels, muffins, cereals, eggs, bread, juice and other things.) The hotel is not fancy but if you're looking for a great place to stay on a budget and you want to be in the center of it all, then this is your place. It's clean and comfortable.
