Hilton Garden Inn New Orleans French Quarter/CBD - New Orleans

I was very disappointed in this hotel. Unfortunately, while booking through Hotels.com, you are not guarenteed preferences, but I somehow was stuck in a smoking room with no nonsmoking rooms available. I also asked for a feather free room due to a serious allergy and there were down pillows on the bed. When I tried to get regular pillows, they were […] out and I had to use their decorative throw pillows to sleep on which was not comfortable at all. The bed was also very firm causing shoulder pain every morning. Finally, there was spilled coffee grounds on the floor when we arrived and it took 2 days for house keeping to clean it, only after we asked. Hilton Garden Inns generally have a good reputation, however, this is one of the worst hotels that I have stayed in. Also, the pool was very small and had not been cleaned with a lot of bird feathers in it. Gross. Mehr

My Room was changed at the last minute... and i feel hotels.com could have been more accomodating. Overall, I enjoyed the stay though

This hotel was a perfect place to stay. We went there to have fun and to visit Bourbon street, and I felt this hotel was close to everything we needed. And I have stayed in other hotels around the area, this was much more comfortable.

Good location and very accomadating staff

Nice hotel. Great location. I am really picky about cleanliness and I was good with it. Only bad thing was our room had a view of just other rooms, but other than that, I have no complaints. I've already recommended it to someone heading to NOLA next month.

Hotel located in prime location. Easy access to French Quarter and shops. Thoroughly enjoyed hotel stay.

The hotel starts on the 11th floor, which is nice. We always find the quality of the Hilton Garden Inns to be consistently good. Bummer is the $12.95 charge for breakfast and $3 charge per day for the use of the in room safe. I don't recall that at their other locations. Otherwise , an easy walk to the French Quarter without the noise and to the beginning […] of the St Charles streetcar line, so you typically get a seat. The area is the central biz district so not so great/ dead at night and on weekends. I would probably stay at a hotel on St Charles next time but this is perfectly nice and there is a garage there tho we did not have a car and you don't need one to get around. Mehr

We have stayed in lots of hotels in New Orleans and this by far has been one of the best. Location was great, quiet and very clean. The room smelled nice and clean and everything was very white and neat. When we drove up they ask for my name and knew who I was and was polite and promt taking care of my car and us. Will try to stay again.

I stayed at this Hilton because my conference hotel booked up early--and I'm glad. It isn't quaint and charming, but it's got what you need. I.e., 5 minute walk to the French quarter (near it but not in it), free WiFi, free printing in the business center, and cookies. And a halfway decent fitness center, and tiny outdoor pool. Plus a convenient store […] down the street. Overall, convenient and comfy. (Two things I would like to see: apples next to the cookies for us health nuts, and free weights in the gym.) Overall really nice hotel for the price that I paid for. It's a 15-20 min. walk to the French quarter, but nice since you get to see a lot on your way there. Lot of good restaurants nearby. There's a restaurant on the lobby floor for breakfast and nice view on the roof. I had a king room and had a microwave and refrigerator. Only catch is the parking […] which is $26/night, but you can go in and out as much as you'd like. Mehr

I only wish the people at the front desk had told us about the view from the pool area. We went up ther on Ash Wednesday morning and found that we could see all of Bourbon street from up there. It would of been fun to see all the people on Fat Tuesday from a bird's eye view

If you want to be in a safe and nice area very close to the French Quarter, then this is your hotel! Its got nice staff, is clean and quite modern, and is also secure. I highly recommend this hotel for any stay in New Orleans, even during Mardi Gras since the hotel is a block from major parade routes.

I chose the HIlton versus my usual Sheraton stay. I will never make that mistake again. Even though the service was excellent the room was incredibly small and the thermostat was broken. It was very stuffy and my only view was of a brick wall and the rooms across from me.

Hotel was nice, clean, and conveniently located. Only blocks away from everything we wanted to do. Check in/out was quick and easy. Bed couldve been more comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Overall, the staff was great! The room was big and clean! The bed was super comfortable and the sheets were smelling fresh. I would definitely stay here the next time I am in New Orleans. Walking distance to everything!

You are in the center of everything-shops, restaurants, and the casino. Close to French Quarters without the noise to disturb your sleep. We walk everywhere. Room was spacious and had every amenity. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and smelled fresh.

I recently stayed four nights in New Orleans. What a wounderfull experience. The Hotel was centrally located, with-in walking distance to most activities and the staff was unbelievably friendly and accomodating. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again the next time in the Big Easy. Go Blue.

The restaurant service was probably the best. The rooftop exercise room was nice. My room when arrived was basically like a dungeon. The window faced inside and into an air shaft. I called (at 12pm) to request a change of rooms and they said they had no rooms that had a window. Really? I seriously doubted that everyone checked in. I suspect that they […] give hotels.com (or any prepaid like expedia) lower priority on picking a room. POOR cell phone reception and SLOW internet. How can I do business here? Anyway, I told them to call me when a room was available. No call, so I had to basically drop my bag off and tell them to get me a new room. Viola, a new one when I returned from my conference. I never spend much time in a hotel in New Orleans but wanted a modern, clean and convenient hotel. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and I was pleasantly surprised. I would recommend this hotel as an excellent place to stay while in New Orleans.

This hotel was in. A great location, just 2 blocks from the French Quarter. Our room was very clean and nice. Hotel staff were very pleasant. Parking was a snap and we had no issues getting the vehicle after checkout. I highly recommend this hotel.

While this is labeled as French Quarter, it is not essentially in the French Quarter, it is two blocks west of Canal, actually right off Bourbon Street (street names change west of Canal). This was far enough away from the chaos of Bourbon Street without being too far away. It's a hike to Cafe Du Monde, but very close to lots of great places to eat. […] Our room was not ready when we got there, but to be expected since we arrived at 10 am. Front desk was not friendly (never made eye contact, never smiled), but everyone else we encountered at the hotel was very very pleasant. Would definitely stay here again. This hotel is not in the French quarters ,two blocks away .

If you're gonna stay at a Hilton, stay at the Riverside Hilton. It's much nicer. The french quarter/cbd hiltn was very dissappointing, there was nothing special about it and the room service was lousy. I wouldn't recommend this place and I'll never book here again.

Overall, the hotel was quite nice. Things were clean, pretty comfortable, etc. The location of the hotel is fantastic if you are looking to participate in the fun that is Bourbon Street, but don't want to be staying right in the middle of it all. The hotel itself was fine, but they charged $29/day (including taxes) for parking, $3 for a bottle of water, $3/day for using the safe, etc. By the time we left, we felt like we'd been robbed. I guess what I thought was a great price really wasn't.

Clean, comfortable hotel in convenient location. Do not book for atmosphere.

close to all areas you want to visit in new orleans,bourbon st,harrahs casino all walking distance.the only draw back was the small swiming pool, but great view from the roof top of new orleans,would recommend to others.

Very nice location. The hotel staff was great and very helpful. The location was a short walk to all the action.

Park your car and ride the St. Charles St trolley. Get pampered on the roof-top pool and adjacent work out room. Walk to the Superdome in one direction or the French Quarter in the other direction. Close to everything but with a 11th floor lobby and rooms to the 18th floor, the Hilton Garden Inn elevates your NewOrleans experiance.

The hotel was very convenient, staff extremely friendly and most helpful. The room was adequate, however the air conditioner was very noisy and the toilet would run off and on. We had to ask for light bulbs for two lamps, which were promptly installed. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there in the future.

Air shaft view, elevators rumbling and clunking all night and AC that woudl not cycle off until the room was cold and then would not cycle back on unti it was hot. Worst-ever Hilton experience.

good location downtown New Orleans, with access to Bourbon st and other great restaurants, without being in a noisy area. Hotel is in upper floors of a high rise, so if you have a car, parking is expensive.

Close to the French Quarter, and far enough away from the noise. Comfortable rooms, good amenities, great view from the rooftop pool.

We walked easily from the hotel for most of the thing we wanted to see in the french quarter. The hotel itself is a little hidden and we had to drive around twice to find it. The parking was expensive, but I think that is normal for that part of NO. There was almost no view from our room, but the beds were nice and comfy.

This hotel is just fine..location good, personnel are super, room maid service is top notch, didn't try the restaurant but why with so many choices out the front door. Nice to be just a little away from all the nice, but constant commotion in the Quarter. Front desk is unbeatable. Will stay there when we return in April.

This hotel was great for the price. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only downfall was the bath tub, very slippery - fell twice.
