"Microtel Inn Augusta, GA - DIRTY!"
We were there for only 1 night, thank God. It had the dirtiest carpet I think I have ever seen. There was mold or something all over the A/C unit vent, so we were afraid to turn it on. We thought we were getting 2 real queen beds, but 1 was a pull out sofa that was small and the springs were coming through the mattress, you could feel every spring. […] The coffee maker and microwave in the room were dirty, and the breakfast was really limited to just cereal and coffee. There was no hot food and I could not get a tea bag! "Dirty and broken, poor customer service"
We had stayed in other hotels that shared the parking lot, so we were familiar with the area and had good experiences with the other ones. Sadly, the quality of this one was so much worse. While it is not the worst place we've ever seen, we will not stay here again. We had a suite with a queen bed and a sofa bed for our toddler (Room 313). When we went […] to make the bed, we found the sofa bed was broken so badly that it was at a dramatic angle downward into the sofa base. We asked to change rooms and were given another room (Room 315) that had a huge sticky stain on the mattress of the sofa bed. We wound up having to have our son sleep on the floor in a sleeping bag we had packed. To make matters worse, the hotel didn't have any pillows for the sofa bed in the room. We called the front desk and asked for one. We waited 45 minutes and it never arrived. My husband went down to the front desk to ask for one and the clerk said he didn't know where to find one. (My husband had to point out that we could just take one from the empty room they had tried to put us into.) Other complaints we had from this hotel are that the light over the desk didn't work, the tub faucet leaked constantly, and the legs on the desk chair was so wobbly and unsteady I didn't feel safe putting my son in it. "Highly satisfied"
My wife and I booked a double-queen-bed room for two nights on March 16 and 17. Microtel was sold out of one-bed rooms at a cheaper rate. We chose Microtel because of the best reviewed places we were looking at, Microtel was the cheapest. It was somewhat tricky to find, as we pulled in around 11:30pm local time and there are many other motels surrounding […] it, all looking somewhat identical, especially at night, and we could not find a sign - though all other motels DID have signs, meaning it was somewhat easier to find since we could disqualify so many other buildings. Once we knew which building it was, it was more than easy enough to find and give directions to our friends who live in town. The room itself was more than satisfactory. As described, it had a microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, hair dryer, and iron/ironing board (appliances such as the refrigerator also made a big impact on us choosing this hotel. It was also the cheapest with so many appliances in-room). The beds were comfortable and we slept wonderfully. The bathroom was better than I expected. The counter, while plastic, was painted to look like white marble. The bathtub was impressive, as it was the same length as the one at home, but was deeper and my wife could immerse herself more, for a more relaxing bath. We did not use the shower, but the shower head looked like it had several different nozzles on a rotater. The free breakfast was standard fare. Neither I nor my wife liked the bread they offered, and ended up throwing it away, and my wife expressed a severe dislike of the coffee they served. However, the oranges and blueberry muffins that were provided were delicious. The orange juice was a little bitter, though. Mehr

"Not what I thought"
The bed was comfortable, the bathroom counter was ridiculously small. For the price I expected nicer lobby...It was ok stay just overpriced...Football players were noisy, nice totalk to them but noisy, rambucious overhead late at night...midnight.
"YUCK!!!"
The room was disguising! There was soap scum still in the shower and something on the mirror on the wall. Slept on top of the blanket with our blanket covering. It was too late by the time we got there to change hotels. The room stuck like something it was GROSS!!!! I have stayed in hotels for this price and it was way better then this. Was crawly after […] leaving put all our bed stuff in the dryer when we got home that is after we rode home in the truck so it would air out. AWEFUL!!!!!! Mehr

"Nice Hotel, Terrible Service."
Checked in fine, afternoon clerk was lovely and friendly. Room was clean and tidy and had all that I needed from a room. HOWEVER. When I went to check out at 6am, there was a snippy princess on the front desk. When I came up to the counter she wasn't behind it, but was over in the lobby area sitting watching tv. She seemed annoyed i'd broken into her […] tv time. Then when I went to check out she kept telling me my card was declining - since i'd prepaid online at hotels.com I informed her there shouldn't be ANY charges. She then demanded to see my credit card and then got all snotty at me because the numbers didn't match my booking - it was NOT my credit card number showing as the card assigned to that room. I said maybe its the hotels.com number thats showing on your screen, since i'd paid THEM for the room. On and on it went for about 15 minutes, with me showing her my receipt that said it was paid, and her going on at me that the room wasn't paid. Finally she called a manager, then after talking with the manager on the phone she says " fine. you can go now". I said i'd leave when she gave me an apology for being such a snippy little witch. She stood and starded at me for a good 20 seconds before I realised an apology wouldn't be forthcoming. TERRIBLE service. However, i'd still reccomend the hotel as it was lovely and clean and the price was good. And the afternoon checkin clerk is just lovely. Miss Thang in the morning, not so much. Mehr

"Excellent Customer Service"
The only issue I had with my stay was that upon arrival, I noticed that the room smelled like cigarettes and I asked to switch rooms immediately. It was no problem to switch my room and the front desk employee was hospitable and delivered great customer service. I had an awesome stay otherwise. This was my second stay and I will be back.

"Accommodating"
There for a half ironman. Place had strong smell of cleaning products when we came in (I'm not complaining, much better than the alternative)...but nothing an open window for an hour didn't solve. What was great is that they were totally accommodating with a late check out so my husband could shower after his race. They didn't have to, but were willing […] to work with us and I appreciate that. Breakfast in the morning was well-stocked, had a nice variety, and set up early. You can't beat this hotel and especially at this price! Mehr

staff was friendly and accomodating. a/c worked very well loved the shower head bed was very comfortable convient to downtown august wife asked if there was a pool, I did not know (my bad), but we saw it as we were leaving. when back in augusta this will be my 1st choice
"Just Right!"
I travel a lot on business. Microtel gives you what you need, refrigerater, microwave, coffee maker and full sat TV. Excellent free wireless for conducting business. A decent continental breakfast, all at a great price. My four day stay was hassle free and enjoyable.
"Hard to locate and the room had a terrible smell"
We could see the hotel sign and still could not find the turn in to the hotel. It was not marked well enough at the main highway. Had to wait 15 minutes to check in and a line was starting to form. I understand that he was waiting on another person but it was quite clear that they had been working on a problem for a while. It only took about 3 minutes […] when he was able to help me check in. The room was nice in appearance but had a terrible smell. It smelled like urine or that the room had been wet and was full of mold. Mehr

The beds were clean, however; the floors and carpet were stained and dirty.
Good hotel for the price we paid. Staff was very friendly. The only thing that bothered me was the room had a strange smell. Almost a stale kind of smell. Other than that was great. would def stay here again

this was our first time staying at a microtel facility. everything about our stay was good. customer service was execellent. the hotel was very clean. the location was great great. we was less than 5 minutes from everything.

Hotel was okay to stay at for one night. Price was good. The room was SMALL, definitely only for 2 people, not a family. Breakfast was adequate. The carpet in the hallway had stains.
