Gutes Hotel, in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Wallstreet , am südlichsten Ende des Broadway. Sehr nette Bedienung. Enges aber sauberes Zimmer mit zwei Kingsize-Betten.

Großes Zimmer, gute Betten. Bei Zimmern nach hinten raus kann man bei offenem Fenster schlafen. Internet fürs Zimmer zu teuer. Im Bad leichter Renovierungsstau. Frühstück im Hotelrestaurant empfehlenswert, sehr nette Bedienung. Infostand für Sightseeing im Hotel sehr gut. Karten tlw. kostenfrei. Mexik. Pub +Chinarestaurant ca. 200 m entfernt. U-Bahn ca. 400m weg.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel. Das Zimmer war sauber, zweckmäßig und der Service freundlich und aufmerksam. In direkter Nähe befinden sich viele Sehenswürdigkeiten (Stock Exchange, 9/11 Memorial, Trinity Church) und man erreicht 3 verschiedene Subway-Stationen innerhalb weniger Gehminuten. Außerdem die Fähre nach LongIsland bzw. den Anleger für die Boote zur Freiheitsstatue und Elis Island. Da an der Wallstreet Abends/ Nachts nicht ganz so viel los ist, kann man - für NYC-Verhältnisse - relativ ruhig schlafen, v.a. im Vergleich mit der Gegend rund um den TimesSquare usw. Ein kleines, aber feines, familiengeführtes (so schien es) Hotel, dass wir auf alle Fälle weiterempfehlen würden!

Located in midtown, this hotel is located on Lexington, so it's not quite as busy as Park Ave which is nice. Very easy to travel to other parts of town via subway or taxi and because it's in midtown part of manhattan, it's usually a short trip no matter which direction you're going. I also just stayed at the Waldorf Astoria and for my $$$, I'd pick the Affinia Shelburne as it's better and cheaper, rare combination. Mehr

"Affinia Shelburne - Great central location"
We spent 8 nights at the Affiinia Shelburne and we were extremely happy. The room was more spacious than expected in NYC and the cleaning and general housekeeping was of a high standard. The location is also fantastic, easy walking distance to the Theatre district, Times Square, Madison Square Garden, Grand Central Station, Empire State Building. My family and i are just back from the affinia shelburne after spending 6 nights there. We booked a suite and it was well worth it as it was huge on new york standards. There was a separate living room with a king size sofa bed which was comfortable. The bedroom had a huge bed which we got lost in every night. The neighbourhood was lovely near nice […] bars and eaterys especially nice was Scottys 24hr diner where the food and service was great. Overall a very good hotel for the price you wont be dissapointed. Mehr

Love this Hotel and Murray Hill Location! Going back in May for Pleasure with Family and new Grandson:) The ONLY issue can at times be the temperature of room based on its age-----a one pipe system--either AC or Heat is commanded by the overall temp outside. BUT, The windows open and if you request a room in the back of hotel, it is super quiet.
Went down with wife and 4 kids. We purchased 2 rooms because they were suites and I must say we were not disappointed. The rooms were large enough to accomodate us and the hotel itself had a wonderful atmosphere. The staff was excellant. If I had one complaint it would be the bathroom in our suite was extremely small. Tough when you are there for 3 […] days like we were. Overall great hotel and the price was excellent. Mehr
"Affinia Shelburne - Stylish/Quiet near great sites"
We stayed here for an anniversary celebration. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was very tidy and close to many of the great sites of New York a very short walk to Grand central terminal, so if you wanted to go Downtown or further along Midtown you could easily jump on a 4,5, or 6 train. Close to lots of great restaurants and bars. We […] breakfasted most days at Bloom's Delicatessen a very short walk from the hotel, great service and a huge and lovely selection for Breakfast or Brunch. The only negative comment I have is that the rooms are not very sound proof, and you cannot adjust a/c or heat your self. Our room was very hot at night and we woke up sweating every morning.

This hotel is on a great location if you need to stay in Manhattan, not far from Grand Central. Very good value for NYC. Small but well appointed rooms, clean and modern. Welcoming and warm staff. In room internet is relatively expensive.

Short walk from where Megabus dropped us off. Nice lobby. Upscale room. Everything seems new and clean. Big rooms. Couldn't hear anybody in adjoining rooms. Wish I could have found a cheaper and less quality place but since I paid for it, I definitely got what I paid for. They let me check out late at 1 PM upon request. Sent up safety razors. "Affinia Shelburne, good value for money"
My wife, stepson and I spent 4 nights at the hotel. On arrival our room was not ready so we had to wait a couple of hours to get in, they did though hold our luggage whilst we began exploring the city. We had booked a suite but they gave us 2 rooms with an internal door, so our son got his own room! Which at 8 years old is pretty impressive. The staff […] were polite and the rooms are a good size for NYC. The housekeeping was very good as were the amenities. The only downside was the lack of a hotel bar, as the bar in the restaurant was small and crowded. When travelling with kids a hotel bar allows you to have a pre dinner cocktail without worrying about having a child in the bar. That said it is just a minor point but it did effect our stay. All in all good value for money in a great location for Grand Central and the Chrysler building, 2 of the best buildings in NYC. We would recommend the Affinia. Mehr

"Nice, comfortable hotel"
At check-in was greeted very warmly by friendly, helpful staff. The room was nicely appointed, and well stocked with goodies, and mini-bar. Bathroom was sleek, and had a modern feel, plus there was an ample supply of fresh towels and plenty of toiletry. Had a bite to eat at Rare, conveniently located at the hotel's entrance. Though I didn't have their […] famed burgers, there was a gentleman at the bar who confirmed in no uncertain terms that his was quite good, nodding repeatedly just how good it was, including the fries, as well. Too bad I was dieting at the time. Darn! At any rate, the Affinia Shelburne, in my opinion, offers its guests an above average experience due to its over-all consistancy with regard to creature comforts and friendly atmosphere. It's very conveniently located midtown, and I wouldn't hesitate for a moment recommending it to anyone who's looking for convenience, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, comfort, value, and last but not least, some real good, stick to the ribs, tasty food! Everybody was Courteous. The room was Clean. the Bathroomwas very clean, a big Plus for me and my wife. Just a great atmosphere.

Had stayed in the Murray Hill (Midtown East) neighbourhood before so knew that the location was great and would be safe for a woman travelling alone. I really couldn't fault the Affinia Shelburne in any respect. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, as were the doormen. The room was clean, bright, comfortable and spacious, including a couch. Nice […] touch in the bathroom was the illuminated make-up mirror. The hotel's 'Rare' Bar & Grill (highly rated) was very convenient and very good. I ordered room service from it one evening and was impressed by the speed with which the order arrived to my door. That said, there are lots of other places to eat nearby - when I arrived the receptionist gave me a map and list. the hotel is only one block from 3rd Avenue which has some great bars and restaurants. plenty of good diners also nearby for breakfast. Nearest subway at 33rd St. Easy walking distance to Grand Central in one direction and Empire State Building in the other. Hotel was very reasonably priced and much better than others I have stayed in in NYC which have cost more. Would definitely go back and would recommend to others. Mehr

"Affinia Shelburne Hotel - great stay"
Had an amazing stay at the Shelburne hotel, it was within walking distance to all the places we needed to go but far enough away from the noise we got a good nights sleep. Hotel was clean, rooms were a good size and very comfortable, would recommend to anyone to stay there!!
Hotel is close to theaters central station very clean spacious room great coffee espresso on the corner personnel is helpful and nice keep coming back every time go to NYC great hotel

I am overall happy with my stay. Room was very neat and modern. Wireless only available with purchase. I like it due to convenience of location- can walk up to UN HQ and many coffee shops, deli and CVS . A bit pricy.

We had a fantastic suite which was large, clean and had a fantastic view of the Empire State Building! The only slight negative was that the bath was quite small and very low set for tall people or those who may be slightly less mobile. Affinia Shelburne almost has it all: great location (~10 min away form Grand Central or Empire State building), nice views (aforementioned ESB from many rooms), affordable prices, very spacious rooms, modern furniture, free wifi in the lobby, relatively helpful staff... I don't know that I would want to stay anywhere else when I go back to NYC. Obviously […] it's not perfect (the outside of the windows are filthy and some of the fixtures in the bathroom didn't look too clean) but these are details. I really doubt one can find such a good hotel in that part of town at such prices. Mehr
"Too Hot!"
The room temp averaged 77 to 78 degrees, despite fan turned off, windows opened and heat set at 65. Staff were unable to correct this other than to suggest opening windows. That barely worked and let in all the street and traffic noise. Maybe in the Spring or Fall this hotel would be OK. Room size was good, but when I asked for an upgrade, i was told […] I could 'have' one if I paid for it. I don't think that's what an upgrade usually is and I travel extensively. No room in bathroom for toiletries. Counters were not cleaned in bedroom. Rare Restaurant had great food, but music level was deafening. Front desk staff and door man were very friendly and tried to be helpful but a sauna is not what I had in mind. Mehr

Very nice hotel, excellent Midtown location. Excellent quality for the money. Helpful staff. Nice city views from the roof of the hotel. Nice breakfast in adjoining restaurant for a good value.
"Great Location for a trip to New York City!!"
When we arrived a the hotel the check in process was quick and smooth. I had booked a double room but when we arrived I asked if it would be possible to have a quiet room on a high floor. This was sorted out straight away and without any extra charge. Our room was on the 13th floor with a lovely view of the Chrysler Building. We had two double beds […] and a mini kitchen. Everything was spotless and we had a choice of 6 different pillows! The shower was amazing!! We went in January so it was very cold however, it is worth going up to the roof top terrace on the 16th floor to see the view. Although the area leading out to the terrace is a little tired, the view more than made up for this and I would imagine this would be lovely in the summer when all the seats are out and the bar is open (note to self: - go back in the summer!) The Empire State Building, Times Square, Penn Station were all within 10 minutes walking distance but if you didn't fancy the walk a cab cost approximately $6. Overall our experience at the Affinia Shelburn was a very pleasant one and I would not hesitate to recommend it anyone going on a city break to the Big Apple!!! Mehr
