Sands Ocean Club Resort - Myrtle Beach

Das erste Zimmer, das wir bekamen war nicht nur schmutzig, die Decke war fast vollständig mit Schimmel bedeckt. Bekamen zwar einen größeren Appartment, war aber genauso dreckig - nur ohne Schimmelflecken. Das Hotel liegt direkt am Strand, hat einen Parkhaus (für Gäste kostenlos). Ein Outlet Center und Wal Mart sind in der Nähe.

we had a good weekend, bad nightsleep tho. the beds r TOO SMALL.

It's was amazing and great

Obscure location, poor parking, unprofessional staff/poor quality of service, dirty room, poor and/or lack of amenities, dirty room, poor maintenance of the facility, an over all bad experience. and dirty rooms. I will never stay here again and will advise anyone i know not to stay at this place.

Very filthy room. It was absolutely dirty as could be. Nasty bathroom & balcony w/ cigarette butts. Hotel front desk staff and other staff were however very helpful and friendly. Security was a joke for our own room key would not allow us to open the gate on the parking garage. Our only other option was to park accross the street. I did not have to […] show an ID to get another room key for an in-law which should warn anyone not to leave anything of value in your room while you are away. Great location and on premises ammenities. For the ridiculous price and what we recieved for 3 nights, I would not stay there again. Mehr

Not bad. The place is older though but the rooms are nice enough. Kitchenettes are handy and cute view from balconies. The parking garage is definitely hard to find a spot in! Don't expect to sleep in late or anything though because you will soon be woken up by the beach bar's loud and terrible cover band. This was a big problem for us because we were […] in Myrtle Beach on business and worked overnights so we slept during the day. The band was loud and directly under our window all day and evening! The room, while marked on the exterior with "no smoking" sign, reeked of tobacco smell and even had ashtray on end table. Unacceptable in any case, but especially with children. Unit generally poorly maintained. We refused to stay and found another property.

The staff and the amenities were wonderful. The beds were not as comfortable as some hotels we have stayed in but weren't that bad. We would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area.

My children and I had gone out in the morning. When returned to gather a few things for the beach, I found my door wide open and no one around. It was clear it had been left open by the service as the beds were made and fresh towels were in the bathroom. I was lucky enough not to have anything stolen. the hotel is a great place for kids or for older people. the hotel itself was very nice, although the location was kind of disappointing. it is miles from the stripc, therefore if you are looking for a more lively hotel with much nightlife then you should probably stay somewhere else.

For the price of the room, I was quite satisfied. The room could have been cleaner and more updated. The indoor pool was cloudy and the lighting was not all that great. I took my son and he had a great time. He especially enjoyed the water park at the sister resort. I would visit this resort again if the price is right. This place is completely outdated. I felt like I was at the golden girls place. We got what they considered a condo, it sucked. Don't waste your money. And the bed spread really screamed I'm a 32 year old bed spread.

I would recomend this hotel to any family on vacation. It had all of the necessities a family needs at the hotel. The only problem I had was the bed was not comfortable. Other than that we had a great stay for the price.

We had a great Stay. Only exception was that the bathroom was a little small. Otherwise, great! I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family!

The location of the hotel is perfect. Right on the beach in a very nice North Myrtle Beach neighborhood. The outdoor pool and beach bar are also very nice! Downside is the interior. We stayed in an oceanfront efficiency. The appliances date back to th 70's ( I know as my parents had the same ones!), the refrigerator was very rusty inside and out, cabinet […] facings were peeling and falling apart. There was a moldy smell to the room and the matresses were very uncomfortable. The front desk clerk was very nice and sympathetic. We stayed in an owner's efficiency so they implied the upgrades were their responsibility. The room was also very small for 2 adults and a 7 & 10 yr olds. If they remodel, this hotel could be very nice! I'd say it's truly a diamond in the ruff! Mehr

Overall it was nice but at first I didn't get the room I requested I didn't have good view of the ocean. but the clerk call me and allowed to look at another room and it was what I wanted.

This hotel is 1 mile south of Barefoot landing, around 10 miles north of Broadway. We were a little skeptical of booking something this far north, but wound up really liking the location. The hotel had a lazy river, an outdoor pool, and an indoor pool. It had a fitness center & sauna. There was also a pretty good restaurant (riverside cafe) which had […] good prices and excellent service. Then you have Aunt annie's beach bar, that played live music and served good drinks (except only 2 choices in beer, one of which is natty lite). At night there's a bar called Sandals on the property. Until 11pm they have kareoke, and then after that it's dance music with a DJ. That place was surprising fun & crowded. The good thing there is no worry about driving anywhere, of fending for a cab. Only thing is median age was probably mid 40's, so if you're a younger crowd, I guess it'd be a good place to do some cougar hunting. But overall we really liked it. Excellent stay. Stayed on lower level Oceanfront. Rooms were very clean. I liked the fact that the resort had a Spa, Bar, Store, and Places to eat without having to leave the resort. Pool was kind of packed but it was a busy week. Overall very nice stay.

Everything about this hotel far exceeded my expectations...especially for the price! I knew this was an older hotel and expected it to be somewhat rundown. That was definitely not the case. Everything has been kept up-to-date. We loved the fact that we didn't have to leave the hotel unless we chose to do so. The resort, and it's amenities, was excellent! Just be sure to tell the staff that you do not want a room near the outdoor bar/cabana...unless you want to hear beach music ALL DAY and into the night. Otherwise, book a room with them.

Rooms are so old and outdated. The carpeting, comforters, and curtains are terribly old and not clean. We asked for a second room and it was just as bad. So much for not a romantic get away.

The best place that I have ever stayed on vacation - Anything that you could want was within walking distance - I will definitely book here again - Ocean Annies was one of the best places for music with the ocean just steps away. Can't wait to get back!!!

All our food and fruit froze in an old rusty refrigerator, despite turning temp control to warmest setting. Maintenance was called in, and he set it at Defrost, which made no difference. They never checked back to see if the refrigerator was working properly. We had to throw away all our food. We had problems with the air conditioning staying on. The […] maintenance person explained that the air conditioning unit was rigged with sensors to automatically go off whenever there was nobody in the room. He even showed us the two different types of sensors in the room. Whenever we left the room to go anywhere, the air conditioning would automatically turn off, and we would always have to return to a warm, stuffy room, and then start the air conditioning all over again. It would take 20 minutes at least to get the room back to not so decent temperature. The AC didn't cool the room adequately at night, and we didn't sleep well. Instead of replacing the shower curtain when it got dirty at the bottom, as shower curtains do, they trimmed about 6 inches off the bottom. So now the curtain barely stayed inside the tub while taking a shower. The people at the front desk should be trained to smile and be more pleasant and friendly, especially when there are problems that need to be addressed. Though in a NO SMOKING unit, we were still being inundated by cigarette smoke, apparently coming in through the vents from other units. Needless to say, we left a day early, giving up a paid night. Last time we came to Sands Ocean Club the year before, we asked to see a room, and it was dirty and moldy, so we stayed someplace else. The Hotel has two jacuzzis by the swimming pool. One of them stopped working (the jets failed to function and so there was no agitation or bubbles), and stayed that way for two days despite being reported by ourselves and others to the front desk. We loved the hotel and would stay there again! Great location, rooms, pool & hot tubs!!!! However, the maid only cleaned our room & brought towels 1 out of the 5 days we were there. We were told several of the staff had called in sick & had not been replaced. We had to call down to the front desk for towels every day& they were out of towels at the […] pool all weekend. Kids love hotel layout overall good place

Hotel is old . Rooms need to be updated. The inside pool water looked dirty, sofa was sinking in when you sat down on it. Waterbug in the bathroom mastersuite. Kitchen appliances were old. Quiet enough. SPA was small dark room, very old and didn't smell fresh.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. I thought booking thru Hotels.com would be easier but when we arrived the hotel proceeded to inform me that evn thought I had booked hru hotels .com that i still had to give them $9.00 additional for taxes which made me a little upset. Our room was clean except for the person who had it before us left there […] pj's hanging on the bathroom door. The entry way door to our hotel was extremely hard to open. Mehr

The hotel is very big but it is very very old, my room was on 7th floor and i got a horrible room it smelled like smoke ughhhhhh its to far from Downtown Myrtle beach were all the amusement parks and alot of fun stuff and the ocean bar is full of crackheads and drunk people go to a better hotel.
