Viel Spaß in Tokio!

"Great location"
Between Shinbashi and Ginza this hotel is a great location, with much within walking distance and well-placed for metro rides elsewhere. Inside is peaceful, with a European décor (and patisserie). Staff were very helpful, rooms were very nice, although the sound of the nearby trains was a little louder than might be hoped for. One thing that did disappoint […] was that the 21st floor bar closed at 10, with 9:30 last orders over the weekend. We were hoping to finish a nice night out there. Wired internet was good, but wireless would be appreciated for iphones and pads. One hint for Tokyo - if you are struggling to get cash out of bank ATMs go to the nearby 7-11, the machine there works with many more cards, whereas bank ATM tend only to work with Japanese and a small selection of overseas banks. "Fantastic service staff"
My husband and I recently stayed at the Dai Ichi hotel and had a fantastic time. The service provided by the staff was exceptional and the many calls to our room to help with the un reliable wifi was always met with a smile. The assistance in helping us locate a sumo training session was also no bother to the concierge team. We would definitely recommend […] the Dai Ichi and would stay there again when we are next in Japan. Mehr
"location location"
easy to take the airport bus door to door, also walking distance to Ginza and the department stores
"Value for money"
Wifi did not work for the first 5 days, it worked only on the last day of my stay. Another draw back is that there are only 2 English news channels !

"Dai ichi in Tokyo"
We took a suite and what a great decision- huge room, all the trimmings, breakfast and evening drinks included as well as a nespresso machine in the room! Could not fault this property except for the adjacent train line -lucky japanese trains stop over night.

"Great Hotel for business and leisure"
- Prime location, walking distance to everything, 1 min walk to Underground station (Shimbashi) - I am a frequent traveller to Tokyo, but first time in Dai-Ichi. With good offer from Hotels.com it will not be the last. I stayed 7 nights at this hotel. -Breakfast at hotel is stupidely expensive as in all hotels in Tokyo (3000 JPY/40$ pp), same with […] the mini-bar (550 JPY/7,2$ for a small beer). But Lawson (kind of 7/11 kiosk) is open 24h just across the street to buy drinks and breakfast. Starbucks is also just 2 min walk towards Ginza. I tried two of the restaurants (the French in 2nd floor and the Teppanyaki on the top floor), both very good quality and service. Please be aware they have discount coupons in the room for guests. I got 30% at the Teppanyaki and 20% at the French. Airport Limousine Bus stops at hotel front door so easy access from Airport (3000 JPY pp /40$ one-way) I had a Superior room, and quality of the room was very good. Spacious bed, free high-speed Internet (not wifi), quite room even overlooking the main train lines. English newspaper at the door every morning. Gym/Swimming Pool in separate building, 1500 JPY pp /20$ for guests if you bring discount card from the room. Highly recomended Mehr
"Good Hotel - Well located"
Had two rooms here for six nights. Great location with easy access to trains and local food and shopping options. Would highly recommend as a good central base while in Tokyo.
"Great stay"
We stayed at 4 different hotels in Japan but Dai-ichi was the best in our opinion (we were 4 in our group in 2 rooms). The location was fantastic (right next to a major train line), next to Ginza. The hotel room and bathroom was huge by any standard and they had free wi-fi on offer. The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. The lobby was simple […] but the rooms and restaurants were excellent. Mehr
"Agood value in Tokyo"
when compared to the name brands US chains - this is a value at about the third of the price. the carpet in rooms are getting tired but very clean. the staff is great. i will definitely stay there again.

"Centrally located"
The hotel is very clean and nice. Well located near main subway and train lines. Walking distance to Ginza, Shimbashi and Shidome areas. Also close walking distance to the Imperial Palace. The hotel is also primary stop on the Airport Bus route. Friendly staff and quiet rooms.
"Dai ichi Tokyo Hotel"
Great hotel. We are impressed with the customer service. Very convenient.

"Dai-Ichi - great service in modern hotel"
Picked the Dai-Ichi for location in Ginza district, great price on hotels.com and good reviews. Gorgeous hotel, modern updates, excellent service and location. Stayed on the premiere floors which was worth it for the view and included breakfast. Highly recommend.
"Classy Hotel in Tokyo at a Great Rate"
Spent a weekend here as a tourist after a week of business elsewhere in Japan. Dai-Ichi is a top quality hotel with high standards for comfort and service. Probably would not have stayed here at the standard rate, but Hotels.com shaved more than 60% from standard, making this an excellent deal. But beware, the cost of meals and drinks at the hotel can […] be a killer, albeit for top quality. Better to choose from a variety of cost-effective local restaurants at meal-time. Location is very central, close to the Ginza strip plus walking distance to Tsukiji, Imperial Palace, Tokyo Tower, and other landmarks. Also close to several Metro and JR stations, so it's easy to get around Tokyo from this spot. The only drawback is close proxiity to JR lines which run in front of the hotel, so train noise might be a problem for light sleepers. The level of guest service at this hotel is second to none. Staff went above and beyond to find information and respond to requests. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit Tokyo for tourism purposes, provided you can get a discounted rate. Mehr
We did stay at this hotel for 4 nights and we are very happy with our choice. Hotel is very clean, quiet (although there is a train line right next to it), has that posh feeling of an old renowned hotel. It is very easy to travel from airports to this hotel and is very easy to travel from the hotel to different parts of Tokyo, as the hotel is just 2 […] min from a main train line (JR Yamanote). This is 10min walking to Ginza area and about 30min train ride to Shibuya, Shinjiku or Azacuza. Staff were very polite and helpful, free wi-fi, plenty of gizmos in the bathroom and a handy small shop just the other side of the street. Will go back if have a chance to visit Tokyo again. Mehr
"Dai-Ichi Tokyo - excellent location and service"
The service and location of this hotel is unbeatable. Though the lobby is not as elaborate as some other 4 stars, the service was exceptional. The room was prepared as booked - the rollaway was as nice as the regular beds; the room was decent size, however, with the rollaway there wasn't much space left in the room. The location is excellent with both […] the Ginza district and the train station within 5 minutes of walking distance - getting anywhere was a breeze. The staff was extremely helpful; an attendant was in fact waiting outside for the bus to arrive and took care of the luggage right from there. We would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again and again. Mehr
"Dai-Ichi Hotel - Tokyo"
The rooms are large, in perfect shape and the service is outstanding. The location is perfect - two blocks from the JR Shinbashi station and the Ginza subway line. Between them everything in Tokyo is easily accessible. Walking distance to the Ginza, Tsukiji Fish Terminal and other sights. The view from the top floor lounge is spectacular. Sure, breakfast […] is expensive, but there are several coffee shops close by. I have stayed at this hotel several times and I wouldn't go anywhere else in Tokyo. Mehr

"Good location and well considered supply"
I am not sure if non-Japanese owned hotel are having such a good sundry items and travel cosmetic set for both female and male. Location is very good, close to Mita-line, Ginza-line and JR. 5~10 min to Marunouchi by taxi so as to Narita Express. However a few things that i want them to change, 1. Cups that they have in a room, those are small tea cups […] for Japanese or Chinese tea. I prefere mug. 2. Have disposable filter coffee or instant coffee at least. 3. Cleaning is not super great. A few hair left in Bath tub Mehr
"Dai Ichi Hotel"
I got a very good deal from Hotels.com though the room is small as expected in Tokyo but still can accomodate 3 pax for asian, branded toiletries, limo bus arrive at doorstep, only Abercombie Flag ship store (11 floor) in Asia is at the Ginza, cheaper food near the JR trains station and there is a direct JR train to Henada Airport.
"Hotel experience"
We were traveling in Japan and stayed at this hotel for one night. It was very clean and the room was fine. Like anything else in Tokyo the cost of breakfast was very expensive, but the stay was fine and the room was wonderful. I made the reservation on line and that worked out very nicely without problems. the only draw back it that it is very near […] the train tacks - some 6 sets worth and they ran most of the night so we could hear them. Mehr
"The Hotel Dai- Itchi Japan"
Very professional, very welcoming. No complaints at all. The room was large and extremely well presented the bathroom was exceptionally large for Japan. All in all a wonderful Hotel would definatley recommend it and will certainly stay there again
"Dai-Ichi Tokyo Hotel - Great Location"
I have stayed at this hotel 2 yrs ago and have loved it; therefore I chose this hotel again. The staff were very polite and helpful and most important they were fluent in English. The hotel location was close to everything; JR, Metro (below the hotel), Ginza shopping area, and food. If you need a mid-night snack you can practically run across the street […] and get a bowl of noodles or McD's. The hotel rooms were quite spacious and very comfortable. They supply you will all the toiletries you need so you won't have to bring any. There's even a shaver & after shave lotion for the guys. The best part is that they have free internet connection so I advise you to bring that netbook or laptop with you; whether you are on vacation or for business. At least you won't have to expense the internet usage. I would totally stay with them the next time I'm in Tokyo. Mehr
"Close to Ginza and Shimbashi Station"
This is a very nice hotel, the rooms are large, the staff is very helpful. The location is near a smaller station off the JR Yamonote Circle line which is easy to navigate and take you to any Tokyo destination. Out of my 4 trips to Tokyo, this is my 2nd time to stay at Dai-Ichi and certainly won't be the last.
"Dai-Ichi Tokyo - affordable luxury"
The hotel was situated in a very convenient location. There's everything nearby (convenience shops, restaurants, fast food joints, McDonalds, etc). The shops around the hotel close around 8-9pm. There are lots of restaurants that are opened late in the area. The rooms are standard American hotel size. The one on the ends are a tad smaller but not uncomfortable. […] The bathrooms are clean and roomy. The amenities in the room are great. They provide shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel so we didn't even have to use ours. The only thing that is lacking is the complimentary use of a pool or gym. However, after a full day of sighseeing, you'll probably won't be needing those facilities anyway. All the staff are very courteous and helpful. They all speak and understand English as well, which makes it much easier to find attractions and shops. While the hotel is above a train station (Shimbashi Station exit 7), it's not accessible by elevators. We stayed away from hauling our luggage from there to the airport since there were no escalators or elevators to get us down to the trains. Other than that, I would stay at this hotel again without a doubt. However, the Dai-ichi Annex is right down the block. I heard the rooms are a bit smaller but I'd consider it if I'm on a stricter budget. Mehr

"Superior hotelt - superior service"
This is a beautiful hotel, extraordinarily well located, with excellent furnishings and excellent service. We were extremely well treated, and delighted with the quality of our room. It had an extraordinary view of Tokyo and was spotlessly clean and spacious.

Good comfortable hotel in a great location. Staff were helpful.
"Dai-Ichi Hotel Tokyo"
Great hotel at a fantastic location. Staff very polite and helpful. Would recommend it without any hesitasion.
"Everything we wanted and needed."
The room we bought on the internet and were very pleased with the size , cleanliness and facilities in the room. We found the staff helpful. We did not need the swimming pool or to eat in the hotel so this suited us, but I think the resturants may be a little expensive and the pool costs extra. We had reservations at a nice Italian resturant near the […] station and ate breakfast at a cafe after a morning walk. There are plenty nearby. I would stay here again Mehr

"Dai-Ichi Hotel - Tokyo"
Not what I expected from the pictures and reading other reviews of this hotel. Hotel is getting to be a little run down. Staff was great and extremely helpful but rooms were extremely small (compared to pictures) and showing wear/tear. Prices within the hotel for food, etc were high.Recommend not counting on eating there as not worth the price. Great […] places to eat near by. Some sight seeing is close by which was nice as could walk. But with other hotels in the same area that looked nicer would recommend trying something else. Mehr
"The Dai-Ichi Hotel in Tokyo ... good choice"
The Dai-Ichi Hotel in Tokyo is located only two JR Stations away from Tokyo Station (only 3 Minutes) and has direct connection (from the basement) to the Ginza subway, so the location for tourist is just superb .. the rooms (actually especially the bathroom) are a little "worn out", but everything you need for your stay IS there (very good matrace, […] an extra shower) Mehr
"FOUR TIMES IN DAI-ICHI"
Extraordinary hotel,1st vist was in 2007 with my wife,2nd ,3rd and 4th with my wife and kids almost yearly. the location of the hotel is ideal and the staff are make you feel at home and very joyful.
"Top notch hotel"
Great hotel in the heart of Ginza, Tokyo. We got a great deal through hotels.com that saved us 40%.
"Convenience,Beautiful Property, Excellent Service"
A beautiful hotel property - looks recently updated. Centrally located. Friendly staff. Quite diverse restaurant offerings and the food I had there was excellent. Good bar with efficient service. Many of the tours leave from Dai-Ichi so it was extremely convenient to get a tour but it was also very near the Imperial Palace and Ginza - all within easy […] walking distance. Subway system just across the street. The concierge service was exceptional in accommodating all of my needs. A memorable experience. Mehr
"Hotel Dai-ichi, Tokyo"
I booked on hotels.com for a 7 night stay in May, 2010 for vacation. The rate was very fair I think. The twin room was spacious enough for comfort. The furnishings and cleanliness were excellent. Coffee and tea in room and a mini bar refrigerator. Medium sized flat screen TV. Noise was minimal and not a problem on the 8 th floor. The bathroom was large […] and excellent. The service in the hotel is friendly and exemplary. The concierge desk helped a lot e.g. getting Sumo tickets for us. I liked the location near a train station and centrally located. Sunrise Tours did hotel pickup and (mostly) dropoff for our tours, also very convenient. Gray Line does also. The hotel is fairly new and upscale in decor. The restaurants looked rather upscale also (Japanese, Chinese, European styles) but I did not use them. There are lots of restaurants in walking distance. Very convenient Lawson store across the street for essentials. I would certainly stay there again. I give it 4 stars. Mehr
