Dai-Ichi Hotel - Tokyo - Tokio

bellboy helped us with our bags to our room, but before he opened the door, he carefully described the locations of emergency stairwells. I have never experienced this before.

The hotel was very clean and the staff/concierge were very helpful and courteous. The hotel is close to train stations. I could always find my way back from the train station since the hotel, and its name, towered over other buildings. Public areas were very nice. Individual rooms were rough (saw more than one). Lots of carpet stains, dresser and desk marked up (dinged up). Restaraunts were expensive. Staff very friendly and helpful. Fixed a leaky faucet promptly.

Having stayed in the Dai Ich a decade ago, I had fond memories of how impressive this hotel is. I took my wife with me, and wanted her to have the best on her first trip to Japan. I was dissapointed in the condition. The public areas still look very nice, but the rooms are showing their age. The carpet had many stains on it (why use light colored carpets […] in a hotel?), dark smudge marks on the walls, and furniture was dinged up. Also, I felt everything was overpriced. We got a good rate on the room through Hotels.com, but they did not loose any money on us. The work out room (located next door) was 1600 Yen every day, drinks in the bar were over 1000 Yen a piece, and the breakfast was 3200 for a very limited selection. We tried going over to the Dai Ichi Annex one morning for the breakfast buffet to try and get something more filling, and it was not worth the 100-yard walk. The good news: Service was exceptional. The lobby is always impressive, and many restaraunts on-site to choose from. I usually stay at the ANA Intercontinental in Akasaka, which is much nicer, but in the same price range. However, this includes an amazing breakfast buffet and free exercise room in the price. Next time, I am going back to the ANA. As I brought my wife along, staying close to Ginza was helpful at the Dai Ichi, but she said "I can see all these stores in NYC - I want to see more of the Japanese culture". Mehr

I chose this hotel because it was close to the Imperial Palace and I wanted to be able to jog outside in the mornings. (The location was perfect - I was able to run about 6.5K every morning. ) The JR line is 5 minutes away, Ginza is about 12 minutes away (on foot), lots of restaurants in the area. The rooms were larger than I expected, nicely decorated […] and very comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again on another visit to Tokyo. Mehr

Great Room, great staff members.

The Dai-Ichi Hotel staff is exceedingly well trained and efficient. As a foreigner with little undertsanding of local customs and no fluency in Japanese, when I arrived I was very worried. Th estaff at every level, was kind and courteous. The made sure the Taxi's that were called undertood where I neede dto go, they reviewed my travel plans and made […] excellent suggestions. The room staff and restaurants in the hotel were excellent. In addition the location is wonderful, next to a subway station and many restaurants and stores. It was a very pleasant business stop. I would give this hotel a 4.5 out of 5 stars. My room was big and the bathroom was even bigger than my one at home. The bed was two true doubles pushed together, making one huge bed. Room was clean and service was formal and polite. My only negatives are that this hotel is next to the train tracks and Shimbashi station, so you do get some rumbling from […] the trains from 5 AM till midnight. The hotel and is a short walk away from the Ginza shopping district and dozens of places to eat. We had a great view of the city from our room. The only downside was the 90 minute limo-bus ride from Narita airport. Haneda airport is much closer.

The Dai-Ichi Hotel in Tokyo is awesome, great location in the Ginza area, walking distance to the ShimBashi train station. The staff was very helpful with arranging tours and helping us figuring out the trains.

This was our fourth trip to Tokyo, and it was our third stay at Dai-ichi. We're very happy with the location (right next to Shimbashi station). Though the hotel does not look brand new, it is very well kept. Rooms are clean and spacious. The most out of our expectations, especially in Japan, is that they actually provide a real bathroom instead […] of those tiny pre-fab bathroom which we really don't like. This hotel is in an ideal location for foreign visitors. You can access the subway (Shimbashi) through the basement walkway and you have access to virtually every corner of Tokyo and beyond. If you don't feel like venturing out, the hotel has a number of restaurants on site that provide room service (expensive). For a quick, predictable bite you can hit up the McDonalds a block away. Three adults stayed in one room. Hotel brought in an additional bed for third person for an extra fee. We had plenty of room and all of the amenities! Slippers, robes, Shiseido toiletries, warm carafe of water for tea and more! Beds were very comfortable. Hotel staff very accommodating and gracious. Morning paper, in English, delivered to our door. […] We saw that some rooms had Japanese newspapers at their doors. We felt that the eateries within the hotel were a bit pricey, so we opted to eat at establishments very nearby. Overall experience was fabulous. Would stay again in a heartbeat! Mehr

Great luxury hotel for the money. Excellent location.

The Dai Ichi serves my business requirements because of it's proximity to Shimbashi Station. It's location for tourist (Ginsa, Palace) should also serve them well.

The Dai-Ichi Hotel in Tokyo is an outstanding hotel with exemplary service at a great price. My next hotel was not so nice and will go unnamed here. If you like to shop, you are near the bustling Ginza shopping neighborhood and within walking distance (about 30 minutes) to the Imperial Palace. There are tons of restaurants within several blocks and […] there is quite an afterwork bustle to the small restaurants in the 'hood. Not much for breakfast nearby, but then I don't live for breakfast and you can always eat in the hotel cafe if you want (but it's a bit pricier than the independent eateries in the neighborhood). The Shimbashi station is across the street and is only two stops from Tokyo station where you can catch the Narita Express to the airport. A great place to stay and would definitely stay here again. The Dai-Ichi lacks one thing that would make this the ideal business hotel and that is a gym. They have a contract with a gym across the street that is very local and dated - and costs an addition 1600 yen per visit. Nonetheless, the Dai-Ichi is very comfortable and located close to many restaurants and conveniences that make it a great location for […] business anywhere in central Tokyo. You are a short walk away from both the JR and the Ginza subway which is all you really need for reasonably priced travel throughout the city. The rooms are standard Tokyo fare, clean and quiet, and the service is excellent (English is OK). The TV channels are quite limited but Internet is always on. Mehr

The room was fine (large enough size and lots of amenities) and the service was great (especially the patience of the concierge), but we were unhappy with the location. It was advertised as being in the Ginza district, but the appearance of the surroundings was seedy.

エキストラベッドの件でそちらとの食い違いがありましたが、ホテル側の気のきいた対応で、大変満足のいく滞在が出来ました。

오래된듯하지만 낡지않고 아늑하다라는 느낌의 호텔, 신바시역 바로 옆이라는 느낌의 거리에 위치하고 긴자로의 접근성이 좋다. 바닥 카펫의 오래된 얼룩등이 조금씩은 있지만 전체적으로 깨끗하게 관리되어 무척 편안하다. 신바시 역 근처라 기차소리가 밤새 들려오기 때문에 예민한 사람들은 신경이 좀 쓰일수도 있다. 욕실은 샤워부스와 욕조가 각각있고 한국 호텔만큼이나 넓은 크기이다. 전체적으로 가격에 걸맞는 고급스러운 호텔이고, 처음의 우려와는 달리 굉장히 만족스러운 호텔이었다.

Et meget velbeliggende hotel med 4 store stjerner. Velfungerende og et godt noget billigere alternativ til de nærtliggende Imperial Hotel.

ちょっといいホテルをと思って選びましたが，予想以上に満足できました。 特にホテル従業員様の接客の丁寧さはさすがだと感じました。お部屋も広くインテリアも拡張高く感じました。 駅には本当に近いため交通の便はかなり良かったです。 いい休日を過ごさせていただきました。

東京入りの際は　いつもリクエストしていますが 大抵満室ですが　今回も　お世話になりました。 今後とも　宜しくお願い致します。

Las habitaciones de excelente tamaño, muy limpias y la cama king size extremadamente cómoda con 2 tipos de almohadas DIVINAS de cómodas !!!!! El lugar es excelente JUNTO a la estación de shimbashi, que tiene muy buena comunicación con todas las lineas del metro...... Llegamos a todos lados sin problemas. Totalmente recomendable

Fine store værelser især efter japanske forhold. 3 minutters gang fra Shimbashi station,hvor der både er JR-rail og Metro.Mange små billige og store dyre restauranter i omegnen. the hotel is great, not small like usual Japanese hotel. Washroom is a 'normal' one rather than the 'moulding plastic' Japanese style washroom, this gives us a very good feeling. Great location, particularly with bad weather that you are connected to the station by subway without going outside. It is also a stop of the airport lim, so it is very convenient. […] Nice service, excellent staff even surprising me that the bell girl speaking good English. We do not see anything wrong with this hotel. Everything as expected or better than expected. The only bad point, if you really want to find one, is the price. 新橋駅に近く、周りにコンビニもたくさんあり大変便利です。しかも、静かですごしやすい部屋でした。また機会があったら利用したいと思います。

通常は 帝国ホテルに宿泊していますが、今回は全く取れなくて、海外のホテルしかやっていないと思っていたこのサイトで、ふと見つけたプランでした。 場所が日比谷に近く、お値段も大変お値打ちでしたし、古いお部屋じゃ無いのかな～？！と半信半疑でしたが…、リニューアル済みの綺麗なお部屋でした。 しかも、プレミアムフロアーでしたので、ちょっと高級感がありました。 勿論、帝国Ｈに比べると、ホテル全体の規模も小さいですが、とても居心地の良いホテルでした。 学生の頃には良く泊っていたのですが、第一ホテルに宿泊するのは、数年ぶりの事でした。 ＳＴＡＦＦの方皆さん、感じの良いサービスをしてくださいました。 また、このサイトを利用して、世界の色んな所に行きたいと思います。

新橋駅近で利便性抜群。近隣にリーズナブルでおいしい店が多い。ただし、フィットネスが狭いという難あり。

Hotellets läge är superbt: dels ligger det nära flera metro- och tåglinjer och dels nära Ginza, Shimbasi och Yurakocho som alla erbjuder olika typer av restauranger och andra upplevelser. En mycket bra utgångspunkt för att upptäcka resten av Tokyo. Servicen är mycket bra och tillmötesgåendet vänligt intill servilitet. Jag kom lite tidigt och fick därför […] vänta på att få tillgång till rummet. Efter ett antal timmar på resa hade jag gärna fått nyckeln direkt. Jag rekommenderar att man kontaktar hotellet i förväg så att rummet är klart när man anländer. Detta var mitt andra besök i hotellet och tyvärr hade möjligheterna att röka ytterligare reducerats. Nu var man som gäst hänvisad till ett trångt och otrevligt rökrum. Hotellet har också flera utmärkta restauranger, som dock är dyra, Det finns så mycket annat att välja på i närheten att det inte finns andledning att stanna vid hotellets restauranger. Hotellet har tillgång till ett gym och ett onsen (japanskt spa) men de är lite nedgångna och särskilt spaet är litet och dyrt. Standardpriserna för rummen är höga, men om man lyckas få en bra deal t ex genom Hotels.com är detta ett mycket bra alternativ. För fullt pris väljer jag dock ett annat hotell. Mehr
