Oasis Guest House - Boston

Das Oasis Guesthouse liegt sehr zentral. Die Subway ist nur ein paar Blocks entfernt und rundherum befinden sich viele gute Restaurants, die sich auch Studenten leisten können. Das einzige zu bemängelnde ist, dass man andere Hotelgäste durch die Wände hören kann.

Hotel liegt nahe der U-Bahnstation Hynes Convention Center und des Prudential Hochhauses (dort gibts eine Touri-Info) sowie dem Red Socks Baseballstadion. Es liegt auch nur 5min vom Fenway Park und 10min vom Charles River, dort kann man gut spazieren und joggen gehen. Nach Harvard fährt eine Buslinie in der Parallelstraße (Mass.St), eine Fahrt dorthin […] war sehr günstig. Ein größerer Supermarkt mit organic food liegt die Straße runter. Zur Altstadt und zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten sind es zu Fuß allerdings 30-40min. Das Guesthouse bietet kleine, saubere Zimmer mit TV. Das Haus und die Zimmer sind gemütlich und sauber, aber nicht modern oder neuwertig. Die gemeinsame Küche bietet Geschirr, Besteck, Mikrowelle, Spüle, tägliches Frühstück mit Bagels in verschiedenen Sorten. Das Wohn/Frühstückszimmer steht immer zum Aufenthalt zur Verfügung und aktuelle Tageszeitungen liegen aus. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Mehr

Old Brownstone renovated to hotel. Very clean and comfortable, but be aware the rooms are small (European style). Excellent location, nice staff and nice breakfast. Will stay again.

THE OASIS GUEST HOUSE IS PERFECT FOR A DAY OR TWO STAY-OVER IN BOSTON. THE GOOD LOCATION AND HELPFUL,FRIENDLY STAFF PUT THIS AT THE TOP MY LIST FOR BOSTON SHORT BUSINESS TRIPS.

My wife was attending a medical EHR conference in Hynes Convention Center and we stayed in Oasis B&B in early April 2012 The room was comfortable and just OK. Do not expect comfort like 4/5 star hotels. The TV was old tube TV and I am very thankful to the lousy reception - watched less TV and save my time :-). The breakfast was served from 8 AM to […] 11AM but one of the Receptionist was nice enough to cover one hour early at his own watch and serve BF at 7 AM. Just continental Bread/Croissants/Danishes/Coffee/Juices/Fruits but was decent. The room was cold for the first night so we borrowed a small room heater which kept us warm. The location of the Oasis is excellent. It is in the Back Bay near Copley and Subway called T. So in summary friendly comfortable place, nothing fancy but in central location and we saved around 30% compared to Sheraton located two blocks near by. Boston Hotels was very expensive do not know why but they were more expensive than Bay Area, CA and even Berlin or Spain where I visited recently. Mehr

I was a little apprehensive about what I would find when I booked my stay at the Oasis Guest House. However, my stay there was very pleasant, and was well worth the very reasonable price. Location is great, just around the corner from the Berkeley School of Music (one of largest such schools in the US). Streets in the area bustle with young musians […] carrying instruments. About 5 min walk to the Hynes convention center, and the metro (T) is even closer. Lots of restaurants nearby. Excellent free internet for guests. Dont expect a fancy lobby. There are rooms without a private bath, but mine had one. The room was not huge but not really small either. Staff was very nice and pleasant. The bedcover was a bit faded which made the room a bit dowdy in appearance, but everything was clean and in order. I would definitely consider staying here again. Mehr

The guest house was fine for an overnight stay but for any longer a couple of hooks and some coathangers in the room would be useful. We had our own bathroom which was very small but clean and ideal for our needs for a night. Very comfortable bed. All staff were really pleasant and helpful. Not your 4-star hotel but 5-star hosptality. My room was on the third floor - walk up a narrow stair case - small but with ensuite facilities. some of the rooms have shared bath in the hall. more like a B&B than a hotel but very reasonably priced. free internet service and a simple free breakfast

Oasis personnel are very friendly. Room was small but tidy in a brick row house on a tree-lined neighborhood street. The place is different from your typical big Boston hotel. I attended a conference just 2 blocks away at the Hilton, and tons of restaurants were available by foot in Back Bay along Boyleston. AWESOME!!!

We stayed in the Oasis for four nights in June. Keith on reception was very welcoming and helpful. The guest houses are spotlessly clean, the bed very comfortable. Ask for the room with the bay window - really bright and nice to be in! Continental breakfast was included, with cereal, fruit, toast, danish etc, self-served in a pleasant informal seating […] area beside the kitchen. It is easy walkiing distance to the subway, and walking datance to the main sights. The only slight negative was the location, which had a few homeless people lookng for money at all hours - they were very inobtrusive really, but made it occasionally a little uncomfortable. But overall, we would stay again deflinitely, and recommend the Oasis highly. Mehr

the service was excellent and I felt safe and cosy in my room. the free internet was a real bonus as I was not carrying an American cellphone. travelling alone, I really appreciated the friendly care from the hotel staff.

This is NOT a charming B&B. This is a high priced flop house. It is disgusting - the bed, the carpeting, the bathroom. There isn't a single nice thing about the Oasis Guest House. It is a fraud.

My recent stay at the Adams Guest (annex to the Oasis Guest House) was just about perfect. As I've indicated in the above responses, everything about the House was clean, well-managed, and pleasant. The hosts were friendly, gracious, helpful, and willing to chat about all things Boston when asked. And, because Boston is so walkable and provides excellent […] public transportation, the location of Oasis/Adams cannot be beat. I think it probably helps not to arrive with a lot of luggage because the individual rooms are not large; but even those visitors who seemed to travel with a good bit of stuff seemed very comfortable there. I made two recommendations to the owners as I was leaving: To provide either table or floor lighting to make the rooms cozier and reading/TV watching more enjoyable; and to separate the bathroom light switch from the fan switch, to conserve electricity and reduce noise in the room. Unless you cannot possibly live away from home without all the hotel amenities, I cannot imagine a more wonderful place to stay during a visit to Boston! Mehr

Stayed at Oasis when in town for Boston Early Music Festival, had a wonderful time. Easy walking distance to Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall, Museum of Fine Arts, and either Symphony or Hynes T stops. Whole Foods at end of street, plenty of restaurants nearby. Parking available behind building for about $20/day (limited spaces but worth it!) or in parking […] garage above Whole Foods. Easier to take mass transit if don't need car. Rooms in townhouses on shady side street, very comfortable sitting room and kitchenette on first floor for general use. The only real problem was the absence of an elevator and the steep and winding stairways

. . . if you can get past the claustrophobia and the aging building, it's in a good part of town, with proximity to restaurants and transportation. The staff was helpful, although printing a boarding pass became impossible when their computer went ker-plooey. Well, thought we were staying in a hotel. it's a charming old bed and breakfast. Too small for my liking but clean, the staff was great and the location to Fenway was perfect.

The location is excellent. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The staff was very pleasant and accomodating. The stairs were a bit steep for the elderly or infirm; I don't know if handicapped rooms are available. Some rooms don't have private baths. Ask when you make your reservations. The continental breakfast did not start until 8am and I was […] gone by then. I would have liked for breakfast to start by 7. Coffee and donut shops were just around the corner. Many restaurants were nearby. A Whole Foods market was just down the street. The subway station was about 2 blocks away. A playground for children was less than a block away. Not only was this one of the best locations in town but the friendliness and excellence of service can not be surpassed. I would definitely stay here again!

I did not have high expectations for this hotel, but they really proved me wrong! It's a quaint place tucked into a residential area, but it's close to the T, Northeastern, Fenway Park, MFA... so location was awesome. This hotel was exactly what I expected: cozy and comfortable with a great location (very close to Fenway and Berklee College). The room was a little small but fine and the bed was comfortable.The T is at a walking distance. The neighborhood is lovely and is full of (student) places to eat and have fun. The location in Boston Back Bay is ideal, close to Newbury St and T-Station. The room was very small, but quiet and clean. The breakfast was poor and essentially consists of coffee, toast and jam located in a kitchenette for self-service.

Great location. Would suffice for 1 or 2 nights in downtown Boston. If you plan on staying in your Hotel then you might want to go for 4 star but if your only usiung it for sleeping and you plan on being out and about in Boston don't bother with the overpriced 4 star Hotels as you would not be missing out on anything.

The Oasis was a stop along a trip up to Maine and was well worth the stay over. The location is ideal, close to Back Bay, Symphony Hall, and the Fenway. My room on the third floor overlooked a quiet street through treetops. The building is a very clever conversion of old apartment rooming houses, and is a welcome antidote to overscaled convention hotels […] or overthemed hipster boutique hotels. Very European, down to the basic continental breakfast. Bathroom, etc was fine. Definately the best value in a Boston hotel. Mehr

This was my second stay at the Guest House--this time I was in the annex. The room was clean and the hotel convenient to Fenway. There was more street noise than I remember before, but there are lots of college kids around there who keep odd hours and were probably celebrating the end of exams. it's a brownstone with a bunch of rooms--stuff hasn't been updated for AGES, but everything is clean and location is convenient. As long as you know what you are getting, you should be ok

The room was bit run down and the bathroom was not too good, but that's ALL that was bad. Perfect location to Finway, Pru Centr, colleges, etc. Couldn't ask for a better staff for Boston. They even gave us a late checkout! Clean room, fine bed, and quaint sitting lobby. Parking would be a challenge, but I didn't bring my car anyway. This is a great place for the casual traveler who does not want to spend a bajillion dollars (and who packs lightly- there are no elevators). I think it is closer to a hostel than a bed and breakfast, but it is clean and in a convenient location. Also, the room was a little drafty, and there was no thermostat to control the temperature. Otherwise, everything else was great. This B&B is at a convenient location with just a few minutes walk to the T, about 10 minutes walk to Fenway Park, and less than a mile to major hotels like Sheraton and Hilton if you are going for a convention or business meeting. The beds are comfortable and big (I had a double bed all to myself with my own private bathroom). If you are picky or slightly high-maintenance, you might want to choose another location. Mehr

As soon as I realized that the hotel was right off of Mass Ave, I knew I had picked a great location. For the zip code, this hotel had the cheapest room rate (AND included a free complimentary breakfast). The T subway stop was a block away, which great for our tired feet. I went to Boston to see the Sox play. This hotel is much like a European pension. The room was clean and somewhat spartan. The staff was friendly and the neighborhood nice--brown stones all around.
