"Kleines Paradies mit Vesuvblick"Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 6. Jan. 2013

Nov. 2012
The Cavaluccio Marino has only 3 rooms and is run by a very warm and loving couple that gives you the feeling of not staying in a hotel, but rather with old friends. Room and bathroom are decorated in typical Caprese style and absolutely clean. You get breakfast at the time agreed on with Filippina the day before; she serves delicious pastries and / or freshly baked, typically Italian breakfast cake that was a real revelation. No matter what it is, you can count on the support and flexibility of Filippina and her husband. Overall, the Cavaluccio Marino is very central, just a few minutes walk from the center of Anacapri, the boutiques, bars, restaurants and attractions. A highly recommended place to experience not only Capri's beautiful surroundings, but also the Italian warmth and hospitality of its people.

"Quiet get-away in the hills above Sorrento"
This small 25-room hotel high In the hills overlooking Sorrento and the bay was much nicer than we expected. The family that owns and runs the hotel is very friendly, speaks English and is extremely helpful with any request. Our twin bed room with a balcony on the bay side was large and spotless. The bathroom was small by American standards but average […] for European rooms. We had a problem with our toilet making noise when flushing, and it was fixed immediately. The hotel-provided breakfast was amazing: boiled eggs, croissants, rolls, yogurt, juices, meat and cheese, fresh fruit, and a coffee, tea and cappuccino machine. A small bar in the hotel lobby provided drinks and freshly-made cappuccinos in the evening for a very reasonable fee. There is a Sorrento bus to take you down to the train station in the center of town and back up to the hotel several times a day for 4 euros one way. There is also a beautiful walking trail from the hotel to Sorrento that takes about 45 minutes downhill. We recommend taking the bus back up! The hotel arranged a day-long boat excursion for us to Amalfi, Positano and points in-between, which includes a taxi ride to and from the boat (available on Wed and Fri only). There is a small town, San Agata, worth visiting about ten minutes walk with good restaurants, a lovely old church and an excellent gelateria. We had a very enjoyable stay and would book the hotel again without question. MehrAuthentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

First of all, Sorrento is very expensive, please dont confuse going there to a holiday in Spain. We stayed in the Villa Fiorita Hotel. Its situated 6 K from the main town and costs about 30 euro by taxi, 10 euro by bus.The hotel is ok and the staff/owners try their best. I wouldnt go back mainly because i didnt like being ripped off in Sorento.Authentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

The hotel is very nice, excellent breakfast, the view from the mountain is superb, staff is also very nice, there is a bus that comes and goes to Sorrento's downtown. There were some noisy people and the doors of the rooms are also very noisy (old knobs with old keys) but everything else is excellent.Authentische Expedia-Gästebewertung

"A couple of nights relaxing..........."
Arrived at this hotel after a long drive from Anzio, (and it was an uphill drive!) and we were made very welcome. Staff were very helpful, and the room had the most fabulous views! We had a hire car and the hotel moved it for us in the late evening so that it was parked off the main road. The car was back for us next morning when we needed it. We only […] stayed the two night so didn't use the pool although our room overlooked it. Breakfast was enough for us, with a good selection of the usual ham/eggs/pastries and juices. We arrived in the rain (could only happen to us!) and the staff followed our instructions - a bottle of wine and two glasses asap! Spent the afternoon relaxing which is what we aimed for as we had had a few full on days in Rome and Anzio sightseeing. The next day the sun we had aimed for was seen peeping over our balcony, and we spent the rest of the day on the balcony of our room or the sun terrace of the hotel.......both with views to die for! On both nights we used a restaurant recommended to us by the hotel which offered a free taxi service to and from the restaurant and provided an excellent menu. We were quite far up the hill, but this was our bonus - it meant we relaxed, which is what we aimed for. MehrAuthentische Expedia-Gästebewertung

The view of the bay on Naples was out of this world, just beautiful. They have a nice patio and a small bar. "High above Sorrento"
The Hotel has the feel of a family owned and operated hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff and lots of places to sit and enjoy Amalfi Peninsula views and weather. The location is high overlooking Sorrento, which is too crowded, and offers views of the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius from the terrace outside our room. The same view is seen from […] the pool terrace. Car parking is valet. There is a limited menu but the hotel has arrangements with nearby high quality restaurants for pick up/drop off of customers. The continental free breakfast was OK: Croissants, cereal, yogurt, juices, toast, fruit and coffe/tea. Room was small for three adults, but clean and beds were comfortable. The hotel was quiet despite a number of college students staying there as part of a travel abroad program. Small charge for Wi-fi accessibility. It is an affordable option for touring the Amalfi coast with Amalfi about a 45 minute drive along a breathtaking road with views that are unforgetable. Vesuvius, Pompei and Heraclaneum about a 45 minute drive in the other direction toward Naples. If driving anywhere leave lots of time as the Sorrento area is very congested and the roads all over the peninsula are filled with hair pin turns. If you like to drive they are great-- if you don't take a bus which is a convenient and inexpensive option. I would return. MehrAuthentische Expedia-Gästebewertung

Villa Fiorita is a charming small hotel 15 minutes outside of Sorrento. It was 5 minutes from a charming town called saint Agata. The staff were very nice and helpful. The hotel was very nice and the view was incredible. I had a huge quadruple room for the price of a single. But do not be misled by the "as the crow flies" distance from the city center. The hotel is not real easy to get to. There is a bus from the train station, but you have to make sure you take the right bus. The bus ride is about 20 minutes, but if you tell the driver the hotel name, the stop is right in front of the hotel. The hotel itself is clean, but a bit dated. The shower was postage stamp size. If you have a postcard sized […] body, it may be hard to wash your feet! The breakfast was adequate. Limited selection, but sufficient. "Hotel Villa Fiorita friendly and family run"
The Hotel Villa Fiorita beautiful situated on the foothills overlooking sorrento with bus stop located conveniently located directly outside the front door with service running every 20mins approx. The hotel is family run and managed and the family are very friendly with a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding areas also excellent english to communicate […] same. The rooms while basic are immaculate and reflect pictures shown above. The rooms are individually airconditioned allowing you total control on room temp. If i was to critisise it would be with haste but showers are small and water pressure is low with fixed shower heads. Villa Fiorita was a perfect spot to anchor myself after a few big cities. A peaceful picturesque hotel with such hospitable and helpful owners. "The Villa Fiorita has the Most Magnificient View!"
We would definitely stay again at the Hotel Villa Fiorita as it's mountain-top vista of beautiful Sorrento's harbour and town below is just spectacular! We found the lighting in the washroom rather dark; it took a long time to draw hot water in the sink but not quite as long in the shower. Would liked to have known that the villa had a rooftop patio; […] we found out, by chance, on our last day. We could have made good use of this as poolside was totally shaded by 3:00 p.m. Shuttle service to restaurants on the hill were excellent. "Poor quality hotel redeemed only by the view"
Beware, despite the Expedia description, this hotel has no restaurant of its own. It offers a cold breakfast buffet (bread rolls, cornflakes, ham, etc), followed during the day by a very poor selection of chilled snacks (mini-pizzas, sandwiches) or salads - these are dependent on whatever is left in the poorly stocked pool bar. The hotel bar (which […] wasn't important to us) is tiny, wedged under the staircase. To make up for the lack of any genuine meals on offer, the hotel has arrangements with 3 nearby restaurants (5 mins drive) who will collect and return you for free. One of these was of poor quality food-wise, the other two were fine but we felt rushed by the staff, who wanted to get us back to the hotel as soon as possible. Overall we were deeply unsatisfied with this hotel. It is a 6km drive from Sorrento down a very steep hill, resulting in a choice of very expensive taxis (~40Euro), or crowded and uncomfortable (albeit cheap) buses. We tried the walk to Sorrento, approx 4km down a very steep path ending in very steep and treacherous steps down a cliff, which despite being relatively young and fit we found hard-going in 30-degree heat. Don't even think of walking back up! The hotel condition was OK and not what I'd call unpleasant. The room itself was clean but the bedding wasn't changed in the week we were there. Overall we couldn't recommend this to anyone, and would question whether it can call itself a 3-star Sorrento hotel. We had a great trip otherwise! MehrAuthentische Expedia-Gästebewertung
"Hotel Villa Fiorita - would go back"
Hotel is 15 minutes from Sorrento centre. However, there is a very good bus service (Sita Bus) which we used pretty well every day which was cost effective and reliable. You can walk (10 mins) to S'Agata where there are shops and a few places to eat -- good value Gelateria and cafe, but road is v busy so you need to be careful ! Rooms adequate and air […] conditioning v good. Balcony view over the bay was superb. Pool clean and reasonable size. However, poolside snack menu was very poor and there is not much shade if you want to be out of the sun. Hotel manager, Giovani, is very accommodating and helpful and speaks english extremely well. Trips by bus were fine and easy as was the train servcie from the town centre. there are 3 restaurants which you can use from the hotel with a free taxi servcie - Il Borgo is v good and friendly, Villa Le Palme has a wonderful view and the food is v nice, but we didn't like Don Pedro much -- food OK but service was too familiar and atmosphere rather 'showy'. In town, go to La Kambusa in Marina Piccola -- excellent place as is the Wine Bar Italiani in Via Tasso. Nerano beach much cheaper than Sorrento ones and just as good with better waves/sea. Trips by boat were good fun and you need to allow plenty of time for Pompeii and Vesuvius and reasonable time for Herculaneum too. MehrAuthentische Expedia-Gästebewertung
"Good family run hotel"
This was our first visit to Italy and the staff made it one to remember. The hotel is located on the hill above Sorrento so do not expect to walk but the bus service is extremely good and stops right outside the hotel. Tickets are bought at the hotel. The views from the hotel are great and you can see Vesuvous across the bay. Rooms are very clean only […] down side is the small shower compartment but not a problem. Continental breakfast was good and although they do not do lunch or dinner they have arrangements with local restuarants which are very good. We would recomment at least one visit to Don Pedro's restuarant. There is plenty to see in the surrounding area without having to go too far afield. We will definately be going back!! "Incredible view, location may not be for everyone"
This hotel is about 15 minutes outside of Sorrento, up on a hill. The views are incredible, its nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Nice hotel, the owner is very friendly and accomodating. He also has prepared a terrific travel information package for each room. There is nothing he wouldn't do for you. To be fair and honest, the […] location can be a bit of an issue for some people though. The road to the property is narrow and winding. The bus stops right in front of the hotel, but it can be a bit of a harrowing ride for those who may not travel well. In the busy summer months, the buses are very busy and you may spend the duration of the ride packed in right against the door. Restaurants nearby are very accomodating in terms of coming to the hotel to pick you up, and this is arranged through the front desk. We would recommend staying there, but you need to be ok with the idea that anywhere you want to go will involve a bus ride that will be reminiscent to some of a carnival ride. My wife is prone to a bit of motion sickness and the bus ride for her was sometimes an issue, but even with that she is still very happy to have stayed here. The owners make sure that all your needs are met, the pool has a stunning view of the city and Vesuvius and it is the kind of place that makes you feel like you are home. "Beautiful location"
This hotel is in the most spectacular location with amazing views over Sorrento and Vesivius. The downside is that it means it is a little out of Sorrento, but the bus stop is just outside the door, and only a 15 minute trip. The hotel itself is slightly tired, and doesn't have great variety for breakfast. The pool overlooking Sorrento is a lovely area. […] The other big plus is the staff - they could not have been more helpful. We would highly recommend the boat trips recommended by the hotel - to both the Amalfi Coast and Capri. Amalfi, Postiano, Capri and Pompeii are all musts whilst you are staying - and all easily accessible. Our personal favourite was Ravello, and the to die for views from the gardens. "beautiful hotel, great view, somewhat inconvenient"
This hotel was fantastic...the view was amaaazing. I definitely recommend splurging for the 'sea view' rooms, because it's a spectacular view of the bay and the city. The only problem with the hotel was that it was way up the hill from the city, which required a 15 minute busride to get to and from the hotel. If you're coming from the train station, […] definitely contact the hotel first about how to get to the hotel, because we spent a lot of money on a cab when we could have taken a bus. If you want to be in the middle of Sorrento, this is not the hotel for you. But it was sort of nice to be away from the city and have your own little oasis. The hotel has a fairly decent breakfast, a bar, a pool, etc etc so you could almost just stay there the whole time. Highly recommend. MehrAuthentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung
