perfect choice for shopping and the arena nice big room and the spa was just what we needed to unwind

The hotel is in a great location and within easy walking distance of shops, bars etc. The pool and sauna was great and really enjoyed these facilities. My only complaint was that for a four star hotel with pool, spa etc. there were no robes or slippers in the room and we had to walk to pool in our pj's and socks. Also there were only three small spotlights […] located at one end of the room. These were no where near the dressing table or full length mirror which made trying to dry and straighten hair and apply make-up a bit of a nightmare! Mehr

This as been one of the best weekend stays my wife and another couple have had. On arrival at the hotel there was a difficulty due to Hotel.com canceling our booking prior to our check-in without our knowledge! Due to us paying in total prior to check-in the hotel upgraded us to the presidential suite which was incredible with fantastic views of the […] city of Cardiff. The assistant manager was excellent sorting all the booking difficulty and called immediately. The hotels staff where exceptionally helpful in every asset. The hotel is a 2 min walk to all the main city Bars and shops. I have stayed in many Cardiff Hotels but I recommend the Mercure Holland House ahead of all the rest! Mehr

The Mercure Holland Hotel in Cardiff is in a great central location. Close to the town centre, bars and excellent restaurants. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Stayed 2 nights, the rates we had for the two nights were actually quite good. Arrived on Thursday, SatNav took us straight to the front of the hotel. Parking is at the rear, and if i remember its the first two lefts to get to the back. Parking is secure and located under the hotel. First impressions of the hotel after walking to the lifts was "wow, […] this is really nice." The guy in reception was really pleasant and we payed for breakfast there and then. The room was really nice, king size bed, clean, and fantastic views of Cardiff. The next morning we went for breakfast which is on the 1st floor, behind the bar. The staff were really helpful, took us to our seat, explained what to do etc, gave us a pot of tea. Really friendly staff. The hotel also has leisure facilities which we were included in our price, so we made use of the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Pool is not the largest, but we went early in the morning so it wasn't busy at all. We decided to have dinner at the hotel on our last night as we had been walking round cardiff all day. Had the haddock and chunky chips which was nice, but the fish was lacking flavour, but overall, the food was nice and quite reasonable. Checked out the next morning and was pleasantly suprised that we didn't have to pay anything for the parking as I initially read that it cost a few quid. On a whole, we loved our stay and will hopefully stay here again provided we can afford it. Nice, clean and friedly and worth the extra few quid for spa facilities, plus if the parking remains free, then it will be a no contest with other hotels near by. Mehr

I've stayed here a few times for visits to the university. It's a great location for many university buildings and is also a short walk to the St David's centre and loads of other shops and restaurants. There's also a sainsbury's very close. I like the hotel. Service is good, friendly, helpful. Rooms are large with great views. Tea, coffee and a flapjack […] are provided and it feels the hotel is not cutting back in the way many seem to be these days, they feel more generous than some anyway. Good value. Mehr

Love this hotel, could benifit from a refurb as carpets etc are looking a little worn, have stayed here before and know this is not of usual standard, hotel staff are very helpful, polite and very welcoming, very happy and would certainly reccomend and stay here again.

Always a joy and a great breakfast for £10. Never been disappointed once in many stays here.

Huge L shaped room on the 14th floor, great views in 2 directions over Cardiff. Large room and comfortable bed. Very clean. Friendly staff. The only negatives I can report are only tea and towels for 1 person in the room when was booked for 2 but managed to resolve this. Thank you, would certainly stay here again.

I've loved this hotel from the start. Amazing views across the city, friendly welcome and great breakfast. Rooms spacious and positively encourage you to spread out and relax. Perfectly situated for shopping in the city.

the hotel is very close to the centre of cardiff about a 5 min walk to the nearest shops.we only stayed overnightg but had no problems at all,the breakfast was substantial and had lots of choice.we felt that maybe some cosmetic work needed doing in the rooms but not major and did not affect our stay.would recommend for any stay in cardiff

Closer to the centre than I realised and especially handy for the Motorpoint arena which was why we stayed. Got upgraded to a suite which was fantastic with view over whole city. Visited the spa each day which was great and very relaxing. Only slight issue was the very rude woman on the desk of the gym and spa who could barely bring herself to look […] at us, let alone be polite. Mehr

Absolutely disaster. AVOID IT. Very dated odd shapes rooms, Road noise (even in 4th floor), £10 FOR INTERNET ACCESS (in4* hotel!!), there are so few car-park available that you definitely not gonna have one, we parked mile away just next to the cheaper and better hotel which we went last time, WELL OVER RATED hotel. Should be 1*. Not Happy!

Great location within 10 mins of centre. Confortable bed, large room. Would definitely recommend hotel for short break. Cannot comment on breakfast or spa facilities as did not use them.

I've stayed twice at this hotel, both times for business, but I would also stay for a break. I thought the price was excellent for a really quality hotel with spa and pool, plus excellent breakfast with loads of choice. The hotel staff on both visits have been friendly, helpful and excellent service. Both rooms I've had have amazig views too! No hesitation […] in recommending. Mehr

We (my wife, 17-yo son and self) stayed one night at the hotel on our way to West Wales. The staff were very good, the hotel was clean (mostly, see below) and definitely convenient. We walked into the city centre in about ten minutes, and most things of interest are close to the centre in Cardiff. Downside - despite being almost empty, the restaurant […] service was very slow, though the food was good. Also, the sink in our room was totally clogged with hair - visible when you pulled out the plug. Granted, it was fixed very quickly when we reported it, but this really should not happen. Despite that, we would certainly consider the hotel again. Mehr

hi folks stayed here for a few nights with family. hotel in great loction in cardiff but was very unhappy with the cleaniness of the hotel. bathroom was clean but shower was dirty and shower seel was on the floor there was a rip in the bed cover and a stain on one of the chairs in the room. room was cleaned and no towels left to replace dirty ones. […] there were stains on the carpets and a broken leg on a chair in the passage way.a big disappoint as we had stayed in a four stair in rome a week earlier. four star its not the need to up grade the hotel and ensure that the staff are dressed in uniform and not string tops looked very unprofessional. very diappointed with this choice. they could do with going to rome or dubai to see there four star standards. ONLY STAYED ONE NIGHT HOTEL WELL FURNISHED AND CLEAN VERY REASONABLY PRICED. CAR PARK AT £12 PER NIGHT WAS AN UNWANTED SURPRISE.

No complaints whatsoever, from check-in to check -out. Great central location, wonderful corner room with great dual aspect views over the city. All staff as helpful as could be expected. Will be back.

A very friendly welcome from a welsh woman - so nice to hear the accent of the country or area you are in!! The rooms are large, with seating area, desk and work area, large tv and great bathrooms with both a bath and separate shower. The hotel is lovely, very clean and in a convenient location. This is an excellent choice for visitors to Cardiff. On checking in, I discovered some "housekeeping issues" with my bathroom which I asked to have remedied while I went for a swim. While, these issues aside, I was very pleased with the standard of my allocated room, I was immediately upgraded to a superior room and the check in clerk is to be commended […] for the professional way in which this matter was dealt with. The rooms are excellent, with good bathrooms. The spa and recreational facilities are of a good standard, and the kitchen staff created a bespoke "off menu" snack at my request. If I am being picky, it was a chilly night and it did take a while for the heating to warm my bedroom. However there was an extra duvet and additional blankets so I was not really inconvenienced. No hot water at 6pm - 8pm Sat night and we had a cracked window our room was on the 9th floor......

Hotel is very close to Cardiff centre,good location for shopping purposes,rooms are large and clean.Rooms air conditioned,clean and very comfortable beds.Stayed on 10th floor with a good view of town centre(could sit in chair and watch the world go bye).Staff very polite and finaly the breakfast hot/cold buffet was excellent Would recommend.

i really only need a few words to sum up my stay in this hotel, i could not find a fault at all. The stay was comfortable, the attitude of the staff was second to none, especially Gosia who worked in the evening in the bar. she was most proffessional in her duties and made our stay more enjoyable. if i was to be ultra fussy i would just say that the […] water pressure in the showers was not quite there. but then the showers in the gym area were very good. i would definately consider staying there again when back in Cardiff. The Holland House is an excellent hotel. We only stayed one night, but we had a fantastic time. The hotel is ideally situated for Cardiff City centre, only a 5 minute walk from the main shopping street. The main hub of bars in St. Mary's Street is an additional 10 minutes on foot. The hotel provided a large and enjoyable breakfast in bed for a very […] reasonable £5 per person. The 18m swimming pool is excellent and not too busy during the day. There is a poolside jacuzzi and sauna, and a fully equipped gym and health spa (though we didn't try the latter two). The only slight disappointment was the charge to use the hotel's underground car park. £12 a day could add a fair amount to a long stay. On the whole though, I'd recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone. Mehr

Alt i fineste orden og meget gode forhold. Det eneste negative var deres morgenmad som slet ikke levede op til resten af standarden med et meget lille udvalg af bl.a ost og brød og mange fade stod ofte tomme og skulle vente på kaffen.
