IMI Conference Centre & Residence - Dublin

Wenn mann die erste Nacht überbrücken will ausreichend, aber man sollte auf das Frühstück verzichten.

Wir waren in den letzten Jahren bereits häufiger im IMI Residence. Dies war garantiert unser letzter Aufenthalt dort. Die Zimmer sind mittlerweile sehr abgewohnt und schmuddelig. Nach einer langen Anfahrt waren wir sehr müde und nahmen wir das bei unserer Ankunft nicht so deutlich wahr, wie es normalerweise der Fall gewesen wäre. So verbrachten wir […] die erste Nacht im ersten Zimmer. Direkt nach dem Aufwachen wurde uns deutlich, so möchten wir auf gar keinen Fall unseren Urlaub verbringen. Da das Hotel auch mittlerweile vom Gesamtcharakter nicht viel anders wirkt, überlegten wir, direkt über hotels.com zu regeln, ob vielleicht ein Umzug in ein anderes Hotel möglich sei. Leider erwischten wir aufgrund des Feiertags (Ostern) nur eine Mitarbeiterin die keine Entscheidungen treffen konnte und zudem leider auch noch inkompetent war. Sie konnte (und ihrem Tonfall nach anzunehmen, wollte) uns nicht weiterhelfen. Also gingen wir zu Rezeption und baten um ein anderes, sauberes Zimmer. Zur Sauberkeit: der Boden im Bad war schmuddelig, das Waschbecken weiß Spritzer auf, die aussahen, als wäre es nicht geputzt worden, ein Glas hatte kleberige Rückstände auf der Außenseite. Der Teppich und die Wände waren verschmutzt (ok, hier wäre dann schon eine Renovierung notwendig gewesen). Zum Zustand des Zimmers: Am Bett hatte man um das Gestell die Stoffverzierung weggelassen, so dass man direkt das Bettgestell sah (ist vielleicht nicht wichtig, sieht aber doch sehr wenig einladend aus). In der Dusche war die Seifenschale bzw. die Halterung für Duschgel etc. abgebrochen. Man hätte also beim Duschen jedesmal die Kabine verlassen müssen, um Duschzeug, Shampoo usw. zu holen. Also zurück zur Rezeption. Die Mitarbeiterin gab sich freundlich, aber ihr Blick sprach Bände. Zufällig kam gerade jemand vom Housekeeping vorbei. Die guckte mich nur an und meinte dann sehr unfreundlich, dass hätte ich ja wohl direkt gestern melden müssen und nicht erst heute. Ich machte klar, dass wir zu übermüdet w Mehr

Gutes Haus mit etwas Betonatmosphäre. Wer auf die Reisekasse achten muß, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Liegt ca. 30 Autominuten ausserhalb des Stadtzentrums, jedoch in unmittelbarer Nähe eines Stadtteilzentrums mit allem, was man braucht.

Das Hotel liegt ruhig in einem Park. Die Zimmer sind normaler 3 Sterne Standard. Das Bad hätte etwas sauberer sein können, war aber noch o.k. Hohe Ansprüche an das Frühstückbuffet darf man nicht stellen, ist halt alles abgepackt. Bushaltestelle nach Dublin direkt vor dem Hotel, oder 10 Minuten Fußmarsch zur Stadtbahn. This is a business center, NOT a hotel. It is at least a 15-minute walk to the LUAS tram and not at all convenient for getting to the city centre. Hotel offers NO services and there is nothing nearby. Night manager provided NO services other than handing over room key; could not even get extra pillows. The breakfast was terrible, with very little on […] offer. One vending machine on site that took your money; managers said it wasn't their problem. Returned to IMI after full day of sightseeing to find NO toilet paper or tissues in the room. NO controls for heating. Triple room was three beds pushed together with no space for night stand or alarm clock. Safe in room but NO refrigerator. Faucet, TV remote and alarm clock all broken; they did fix the faucet immediately. Also VERY far from airport; taxi ride was more than 50 euros!! Would NOT recommend for families. Mehr

The hotel is off the beaten track. It's a good 10 minute walk to get a tram and then 20 minutes into city centre. The people serving breakfast were very unfriendly. Free Wifi is a help. There is no bar, resteraunt, etc.

Huge square blocks of concrete, stained with the weather stand locked together into a number of rooms spanning the first floor. Having to carry suitcases three hundred yards in the rain from the car to the entrance was our first greeting of this so called wonder residence. the guy on reception was on his first week on the job and had to call for advice […] when we complained about the first room we were shown. However we did get put into a better room which was quite adequate, with an excellent en suite. Breakfast was a joke. an eating area with tired tablecloths, a mega slow small toasting machine for the drying white bread. small matchbox pieces of platic looking ham greeted us from a plate. this was the cold meats advertised. No fruit was available just orange juice or apple juice. The cereals were just stale cornflakes.This review is as we saw it. Which was such a dissapointment as the grounds and drive in to the centre were immaculate leading us to expect something better that the pityful display we were greeted with. Will we go back again?. certainly not. Would we recommend this to anybody, regarding how desperate they were? No! overall the place is a dead duck nestled into a beautiful scenic grounds and should be demolished. Mehr

Stay here, there are no problems

IMI is the "Irish Management Institute" and it looked to me like the primary function of the residence was to provide accommodation for those attending courses, with the hotel being an afterthought. The room was spacious and comfortable the decor was a little tired (though no worse than several Travelodges I've used in the UK.) The bed was the most […] comfortable I've slept in for years! Free wifi in the rooms was a bonus. Only real negative was that the continental breakfast was about as minimal as it could be in terms of choice and was served in an area that is used as a route through to the bedrooms the rest of the time. I would definitely stay in the hotel again but I'll skip breakfast and eat in town. Mehr

Want to stay in dublin with easy access to the m50 or leaperdstown withoht expensive and unnessery frills then this is a decent choice.

For value for money the IMI CANNOT be beaten. Set in beuatiful grounds the rooms are clean, warm and comfortable - the shower is wonderful. Breakfast included in price - very peaceful location. What more do you want - it's not flash, but it does have wifi and what more do you want. I just hope it never changes as I am a regular visitor to Dublin

Rooms nice & comfortable, staff was lovely. Plenty of free car parking, unusiall for that part of Dublin. 15 min walk to Luas (Balally) and 20min to Dundrum Shopping. Quiet residential area. No Pub/restaurant though, so have to leave the premises for food/drink.

It was peaceful, friendly, welcoming,an oasis of peace.

reasonable price,convenient for conference centre , shopping and value for money,but dont expect luxury.We experienced difficulty with the tv reception and upon complaint we were switched to another room. A quiet hotel located on its own grounds on Sandyford Road.The hotel is about 15mins walk from the Balally LUAS stop and Dundrum Shopping Centre.The hotel is slightly dated decor wise but perfectly functional and the rooms have everything you need, tea/coffee making facilites, tv, and ensuite shower. There was no bath in my room.The rooms are comfortable […] though not as modern or spacious as I expected given the location outside the city and association with the Irish Management Institute on the same grounds.The setting is lovely however, with huge old trees and very little traffic noise as hotel is set in 3mins walk from road.Breakfast was included in my rate and was served on the first floor.It consisted of a buffet style continental selection.There was a choice of cereals, juice, yogurt, muffins, fruit, and facilities to make your own tea/coffee and toast.There was no cooked breakfast option.All food was fine.The service at breakfast needs to be looked at though as there were hardly any clean tables left.There is a small gym located on the ground floor.Overall I would recommend this hotel based on the generally good rates. This is a conference center so it really is for those of you who just want a bed for the night while staying in Dublin. It is ideal for a business traveller who wants a discount room in Southern dublin and is not looking for more than three star quality. We stayed here the night before and the night of the All-Ireland Final. Great hotel for a short stay with very reasonable prices. Bright, clean, comfortable hotel close to the Luas with easy access to Stephen's Green

This little place was absolutely lovely! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them, the room was spacious and had everything we wanted....and MORE!!! I felt like a really valued customer and I will be coming here again for sure!! Thanx guy's!

The room was comfortable and clean and good value for money.

If you look for a cheap, nice hotel to stay, this is your place. I could see a couple of small stains on the carpet, but I guess they are coffee or tea stains. You have tea coffee facilities in the room. It can happen at home so no big deal. Apart from that, I can not fault the place.

The IMI is located quite a long way from the LUAS so be prepared for an uphill treck! Rooms are spacious but mine was very badly maintained. The shower, bed side lamp and tap all needed urgent maintenance. Sadly the night porter had no interest when the problemns were pointed out. Breakfast is good though the mezzanin e where it is served is quite run […] down with very dirt carpets. The rooms are quiet. Internet access is €7.50 an hour! Rip off. Good location if you have a car and need somewhere to stay overnight as it is near the shopping centre with great restaurants but the property itself is devoid of character in my opinion. Mehr

DONT use hotel.com directions. Also nightmare to find hotel generally. and not really advertised as hotel outside grounds. Great vale for money and near huge shopping mall and trams.

After staying in the busy city center of Dublin for a week, it was kind of refreshing to get out in the suburbs and relax. The hotel was kind of tricky to find, being that it is surrounded by a learning center, but for the price we paid, it ended up being a pleasant surprise. Stayed for one night, lovely room, good breakfast and quiet surroundings. No stress at reception, only thing is the location is a bit of a walk to luas, but dublin bus can provide a service a bit closer to the hotel. This accommodation met our needs very well. A quick stop over before heading for the airport. Economic, clean and comfortable. The Continental Breakfast was simple but sufficient to see us on our way.

Edullinen, mutta sijainniltaan kohtuu kaukana keskustasta ( bussilla tai junalla pääsee helposti keskustaan ). Itsellemme oli Dundrumin ostoskeskuksen lähellä sukulaiset, joten sijainti meille aivan loistava. We arrived late in the night, around 2am, and we were glad to be received by someone, who kindly gave us our room key. Parking was ok. The place is outside the city, in a residential area. Il est un peu excentré, au sud de Dublin, dans un parc, style campus universitaire très calme, pas cher, le petit déjeuné est offert. L'hôtel est à 5 minutes d'un arrêt de bus et à 20 minutes à pied d'une station du tram et du plus grand shopping centre de Dublin. Il s'agit de l'hôtel d'un centre de conférence, ce qui fait qu'il se trouve au fond d'un parc: parfait pour un séjour au calme. Les chambres sont très confortables et spacieuses, avec télé et wi-fi gratuit. Le petit déjeuné […] est assez simple mais bon et étant donné les prix pratiqués, il est difficile d'en attendre plus. Les différents réceptionnistes sont très accueillants et serviables. Le seul point faible: il faut forcément aller au moins jusqu'au shopping centre pour dîner mais j'ai pu me réchauffer des repas à emporter au micro-ondes de la salle de petit-déjeuné. Mehr
