Lage und Service des Hotels haben uns sehr überzeugt. Das Hotel an sich ist sehr ansprechend aufgemacht und eingerichtet. Leider gab es einige Kleinigkeiten, die zum Punktabzug führten, wie z. B. alte Spinnweben am Fenster im Treppenaufgang, schimmelige Fugen im Bad, sich lösendes Furnier an der Badewannenverkleidung. Ansonsten wirkte das Haus und Zimmer schon sauber. Das Bad war etwas eng und unser Zimmer wäre besser eingerichtet gewesen, hätte es nur ein Kingsize-Bett gehabt und nicht noch ein weiteres Bett, dass mit in die Nische gequetscht wurde. So hätte man an beiden Seiten Platz für einen Nachttisch gehabt und man hätte von beiden Seiten Zugang zur jeweiligen Bettseite gehabt und man hätte nicht eine Betthälfte übers Fußende betreten/verlassen müssen. Die Einrichtung war allerdings sehr gemütlich und ansprechend. Passte zum Stil des Hauses. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war sehr gut.

Wir hatten ein Zimmer (Nr. 209) mit 2 Fensterfronten hofseitig und damit sehr ruhig; nach Rückdrehen der Heizung war auch das Zimmerklima angenehm, wenig Hellhörigkeit (wobei möglichlicherweise das Nachbarzimmer nicht belegt war) aber Zimmertüren fielen laut zu wenn man nicht händisch abfedert. In unserem Stock gab es nur eine Terrasse vor dem Zimmer, konnten wir aber nicht nutzen, da vom Zimmer her nur ausklappbare Fenster waren. In unserer Rate war Full Irish Breakfast inkludiert. Unser Zimmer wurde immer erst am Nachmittag gesäubert, da wir ohnehin unterwegs waren, nicht das große Problem. In Hotelnähe gibt ein paar Fastfoodläden, einen Supermarkt sowie Lidl und die Luas-Line, mit der man in ca. 40 Minuten ins Zentrum fahren kann, sonst nicht so umfangreiche Infrastruktur, aber wir hatten ein Mietauto und die Hotelgarage war für Gäste gratis. Im Hotel gibt es auch ein Fitnessstudio sowie Schwimmbad - haben wir nicht genutzt (Badehaubenpflicht, kann vor Ort gekauft werden) - ist aber auch öffentlich zugänglich. Restaurant haben wir abends nur für Drinks genutzt. Samstags wurde eine Geburtstagsparty abgehalten, obwohl nur 1 Stock unterhalb haben zumindest wir nichts mitbekommen, unser Zimmer war aber auch am Ende des Ganges. Personal sehr hilfsbereit (hatten Waren in den Hotelkühlschrank einlagern lassen und konnten die Bordkarten beim Internetdrucker nicht ausdrucken, so hat das die Receptionistin auf unsere Rückfrage hin für uns übernommen). Wir können aufgrund unserer Erfahrung das Hotel nur empfehlen und werden selbst auch wieder hinfahren.

Liegt direkt neben der "Jameson Distillery" und man kann zu Fuß die meisten Sehenswüdigkeiten erreichen.Es gibt ein einfaches aber günstiges Frühstück. Zimmer und Personal kann man lobend erwähnen.

Wir finden, dies ist das beste Hotel, das man für das Erreichen eines extrem frühen Fliegers buchen kann. Das Personal ist im Kundenumgang versiert, die Zimmer sind komfortabel und groß, das kostenlose "Grab & Run" Frühstück angenehm ... alles in allem SEHR EMPFEHLENSWERT

Ballsbridge ist eine ruhige und exklusive Wohngegend mit viel Grün, etwa 20 - 30 Minuten zu Fuß von der Innenstadt entfernt und durch regelmäßig verkehrende Busse angebunden. Der Kanal fließt mitten durch das Viertel. Auch wenn große Teile dieser Wasserstraße nicht besonders sehenswert sind, gibt es doch nahe der Richmond Street-Brücke einen angenehmen Abschnitt mit Pubs am Ufer. Mit dem Geburtshaus von George Bernard Shaw befindet sich außerdem eine beliebte Sehenswürdigkeit ganz in der Nähe.

"Freundlicher Service"
Wir fühlten uns im Hotel sehr wohl, alles war sauber und die Rezeption sehr freundlich und hilfbereit. Frühstück für 9,95€ im Hotel war auch ok. Es gab Wurst (jeden Tag die Gleiche), Käse, Marmelade, Toast, Brot, Rühreier, Speck, Würstchen, Joghurt, Früchte, Säfte - wir alle wurden satt und konnten dann zu unseren Ausflügen starten. Ideal fanden wir […] den direkt benachbarten Pub, in welchem man auch mittags (für 11€) essen und natürlich abends noch einen Absacker trinken konnte. Der Weg zu Fuß zur Stadt (ca. 15 Minuten) war für uns kein Hindernis. Der Aircoach Bus zum Flughafen hält auch direkt um die Ecke. Wir können das Hotel nur weiterempfehlen und würden wieder dort buchen. Mehr

Im Gegensatz zu anderen Hotel war es sehr preisgünstig. Gefühlt ist das Hotel allerdings etwas weiter weg vom Stadtzentrum als der angegebene Kilometer und die Anbindung mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln […] ausbaufäig. I have stayed several times in The Grand Canal Hotel and would recommend it as a very convenient place to stay if you want to bring your car to Dublin. I arrived early at just about 1 in the afternoon and was able to check in straightaway and leave my car safely in the car park. It is just over 10 mins walk from the hotel to Grafton Street so it is […] ideal for shopping and sightseeing. A shuttle bus runs from the hotel to the Grand Canal Theatre most nights which makes a trip to the theatre very easy. They offer Theatre packages which seem to be good value although I had booked tickets independently. We ate in the bar and the meal was fine as was the breakfast the following morning. Very close (less than 1km) to Landsdowne Road Stadium for international Soccer and Rugby matches. Very close (100 metres) to the D.A.R.T. station for, am, D.A.R.T.s and some trains. There's a supermarket around the corner and it's not a bad walk to the city centre (25 minute stroll / 15 minute quickstep).

I had a brief but very pleasant stay, the hotel staff were incredibly helpful and kind, going out of their way to make the stay comfortable and hassle free, The hotel was a pleasant walk into town, at least 15-20mins. The only downer was that my room, although very comfortable and clean smelt of stale smoke.

The location is close to work and not in the noisy area. Clean place and spacious. However, the main street in front of the hotel can be pretty loud and busy for the rooms facing it. I would highly recommend to change the room if possible. I did and it made the rest of my stay very pleasant.

While away from the city center, the hotel is very close to theaters, trains, the River Liffey and other venues, and one can easily take a bus into the center area. It offers special packages for event goers and the price is quite reasonable for the area.

Excellent hotel, more like a 4* than a 3*. Customer service was excellent, executive rooms spacious and clean. Restaurant very nice and the convenience of the friendly Gasworks bar attached to the hotel. Walking distance to O2, RDS and Temple Bar. Highly recommended.

our stay was good but not luxurious or scenic. It was also not so close to downtown area but close enough to river. No complaints but no recommendations either. It was clean but not fancy or extra comfortable. The cafeteria was pricy.

This hotel provides you with everything you need at a very very reasonable price. Rooms are clean and comfortable, albiet no frills. It can get a little noisy if you are facing the street, but it's a very minor problem. It's a 15 minute walk from the city center. There is a restaurant and cafe attached to the hotel. Pros: Room was clean, modern and comfortable. Beds were firm and comfortable. Price was reasonable. On the negative side, the internet connectivity was almost unusable in the evenings, which is a problem for a business hotel. Also, I asked for a wake up call and taxi on the day I checked out. For a small property in a neighborhood far off the mainstream, it is very tight, classy, clean, friendly and modern like hotel. The only major thing I noticed on my one night there was how disgustingly filthy the workout facility was. The cardio/weight room was loaded with pretty good equipment, BUT was so dirty I could not stay in it very long and […] had to swab anything I touched down before I even came close to using it. Hotel was fine - comfortable and nice linens. Location was not central - but you already know that before making a reservation. Easy but long walk into central Dublin. The hotel does not have air conditioning. This is probably fine the majority of time. But my stay was in August and it was warm enough to require an open window. Came for business and it was convenient for that, given the location. The bar was lively enough. The beds were a bit droopy in the middle and my room was a smoking room (I'm surprised these even still exist). Everything was adequate. 3 of 5 stars is accurate.
