Ich habe mich hier sehr wohl gefühlt, auch wenn das Hotel sehr dicht am Hwy liegt, so dass man im Hintergrund das Vorbeifahren der Autos hört, dafür ist man schnell wieder auf dem Hwy1. Das Hotel hat den Vorteil, dass es nur ein paar Minuten vom Marina State Beach entfernt liegt. Einen Meeresblick bieten die Zimmer allerdings nicht. Außerdem gibt es einen eigenen Frühstücksraum und das Frühstücksangebot geht über das übliche Continental Breakfast hinaus, wobei das Angebot an Cereals gegenüber vor 2 Jahren nachgelassen hat. Preis - Leistungsverhältnis stimmen jedenfalls.

Hotel und Zimmer soweit OK (nur eine Übernachtung). Da kein Frühstückraum vorhanden, erfolgt Bereitstellung des Frühstücks mittels einer Kühlbox. Inhalt 'überschaubar'.

Ein Hotel, in dem man sich Wohlfühlen kann und von dem aus sich die atemberaubende Gegend (Ort, Küste, 17 Miles Drive, Monterey, Carmel Valley geut erschließen läßt. Die Lage etwas außerhalb ist für Leute, die sowieso unterwegs sind genauso unwichtig wie die Nutzer der Wellnessangebote. Ausschließlich optisch stört ein ganz wenig die nahegelgene Tankstelle, aber who´perfect ? Ein gutes Hotel zum Weiterempfehlen.
Lage
Hotel Abrego liegt in Flughafennähe und befindet sich mitten in Monterey, in der Nähe der folgenden Sehenswürdigkeiten: Cathedral of San Carlos Borromeo, Monterey Convention Center und Dennis the Menace Park. Dieses Resort im romantischen Stil befindet sich in der Nähe der folgenden Sehenswürdigkeiten: Fisherman's Wharf und Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Ausstattung

Die Lage des Hotels war als Ausgangspunkt optimal. Das Design ist ansprechend. Zimmer sehr groß, sauber und ruhig, Betten gemütlich. Das Früstück war das beste, das wir während unserer 2 Wochen Kalifornienrundreise hatten und der Preis mit $9 absolut empfehlenswert

"Top Hotel"
Auf unserer USA Rundreise unser zweites Hotel für eine Nacht. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön eingerichtet mit Gas Kamin :-) Das Frühstück (10 Dollar) ist sehr zu empfehlen und war bis dahin das beste auf unserer Reise!!!! Viel Spaß
"Nettes Hotel in Monterey"
Das Hotel liegt im Ort Monterey nicht weit vom Meer. Ein Auto ist jedoch zu empfehlen. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und lag in Richtung Pool. Störend war allerdings die Verbindungstür zum Nachbarzimmer,die zwar verschlossen war jedoch jeden Ton von der Familie nebendran zu hören war. Das Frühstück ist für amerikanische Verhältnisse gut. Insgesamt haben […] wir auf unsererReise mehrere Hotels gebucht gehabt und das Abrego war eines der Besten dabei. Der Ort besonders die Küste sind ein Naturschauspiel Richtung Lighthouse bzw 17 Miles drive. Ein Muss. Also wir würden nochmal einchecken. Mehr

Das Hotel hatte das beste Frühstück auf unserer kompletten USA Reise. Zu empfehlen ist auch das Hoteleigne Restaurant.

"Very nice hotel!"
Comfortable, quiet, attractive hotel. Great staff. Good value for Monterey. I would definitely stay here again.
I am a light sleeper and I did not sleep at all. You can hear people walking around, water running and more. If you are a heavy sleeper no problem. For the rest of us it was a nightmare. The carpets are very old and had a smell in the hallway but not as much in the room. The bed was comfortable. Too much money for what we got.
"Too warm - no A/C; Bed too soft"
Needed A/C. Outside air in evening was nice and cool but with window on only one side the cool air would not circulate into the room. Mattress is too soft - not good back support. Need a hand hold to assist getting in and out of the tub. I am not handicapped but would have flelt more secure with something nearby to just hold lightly when getting out. […] Another towel bar in the bathroom would make it easier to save towels from unnecessary laundering. Room temperature probably not a problem if it ever gets really cold both day and night. The third week of April was sunny and WARM. Can't imagine needing the fireplace! Room was clean and hotel staff were all very pleasant. Mehr
"Awesome value & location"
For a decent price this hotel offers is an easy access location to old Monterey, the wharf, old Carmel, etc. I loved how clean our room was. I loved the comfortable decor and fireplace and in-room bar area. Highly recommended.

"Abrego Stay"
We're from Northern Virginia and spent Spring Break in California. Hotel Abrego was a nice and convenient place to stay. Free parking was nice. The only real "complaint" we had was that they advertised the pool as being "heated to 80 degrees". That's quite misleading. In actuality, 80-degree water is being pumped into the pool. Once that hits the existing […] cold water in the pool and the 55-degree ambient air, the water temperature is nowhere near 80 degrees. Truth in advertising would have been nice. Mehr
"Just what you want, where you want it"
Excellent location in Monterey, with convenient access to everything you could want to do. Room was comfortable for three(2 queen beds), fireplace and furnishings were a nice touch.

"Very welcoming"
The gentleman who checked us into the hotel explained the various services available to guests & was very helpful & congenial. The hotel more than exceeded our expectations & I would not hesitate in recommending it to others.

"Interesting coincidence"
I book a hotel on this site before in Monterey about 3 years ago. It turned out to be a DUMP!!!! Walk away from the hotel and just took it as a loss. The hotel was horrible. As I pull into this hotel it was the same location as DUMP I had stayed at before. New ownership, and WOW what a difference. I would stay here again for sure.
"Very Nice Room"
The hotel was very clean inside and out. The room was a nice size, but the bathroom did not have much space for toiletries. The pool was dull so don't expect a great experience. The spa is pretty tiny. There are a lot of diffrerent levels to the hotel. Our section did not have an elevator, but the main building does. The hotel is 1/2 mile straight up […] the road from the wharf so that was very convenient. This looks to be one of the better hotels in the area. I'd recommend it even though our neighbors were very noisy on day one of our two night stay, but the manager was very attentive to the problem. The hotel offers packages with or without breakfast. I'd suggest you go to the wharf and eat and enjoy the scenary if you have the time. Mehr

I rated everything 5 except the hotel service because I was out playing golf all three days. I did not need any or know about the services so I rated it 3. The hotel is rated two stars, probably because it has no big lobby, no on site restaurant, no spa or gym, no pool, or other required feature for three or more stars. "Close to everything"
Very new and close to resturants and shopping.
Great place to stay for business. Loved the fireplace/room heat system. Rates were reasonable. Hotel restaurant staff were very pleasent and and helpful.
I wish the tv picture quality was better...it was very poor. I also wish that you could actually see the fireplace when you were laying on the bed or sitting on the chaise.

This hotel offered uniqeness and modern amenities. The fireplace was awesome! Loved the bathroom and extra sink area. Wish we could have stayed longer. Great location!
II stayed one night while driving down the coast and the hotel was great! I was nervous that it was more of a motel but the rooms were clean and spacious! the Fireplace was amazing and the staff was great! plus they gave us a bottle of wine when we told them it was our honeymoon. Its not on the coast like some of the other hotels, but its still close […] enough to drive to and see. Mehr

We enjoyed our first stay at Hotel Abrego. We didn't have many special requests but the service was very good. Check-in and -out was a breeze. The heated pool in the middle of winter was a hit with the kids, and the hot tub was great afterwards. Nice, modern-looking, clean room. "Hotel Abrego in Monterey--clean and comfortable!"
One of the nicest hotels we've stayed at in Monterey so far. The Premier Fireplace room was roomy and comfortable. We enjoyed the comforts of the fireplace and the chaise lounge as well. Openable windows throughout the unit and bathroom along with the balcony were a plus. The front lobby staff and cleaning staff were helpful. We would definitely stay […] here again and already recommended this hotel to a friend. Mehr
"It's a nice place"
The room we had during our first stay was wierd... above the restaurant, heard a lot of downstairs chatter, the smell of food would permiate in our room. But the basic ammenities are nice. Nice bed, updated room, clean. The second time we stayed we got a room in the separate building from the lobby. It was super nice. BUT, the bathroom was incredibly […] SMALL... no shelf or counter space what-so-ever. Overall, it is a nice hotel, the front desk/counter is wierd, no room service, but it's nice. Mehr
Had a great time - would prefer a different sink but otherwise the room was very comfortable and quiet. Very convenient to all the areas that we visited.
"Try to get an upstairs unit"
Recently built and or renovated. New furnishings and fittings throughout. Kids staying upstairs from us were a distraction with their occassional running and stomping of feet. The noise seemed to travel more than other places I've stayed. I would definitely stay there again, although I'd try to get an upstairs unit. Overall a solid 4 stars.

Our stay at the abrego was very comfortable. The rooms were clean and updated. The breakfast was just okay and the norm for a hotel, but the staff were all polite and very attentive. The quality of service from the staff was a marked surprise for my wife and I. they went above and beyond in making sure we were comfortable and had everything while we […] were dining. We were pleasantly surprised when we went back for breakfast teh next day and the staff remembered us and warmly brought us back to the same table as the previous day. Some might say its a little too much, but for a traveling family on a budget, its nice to be treated so well. We bought monterey aquarium tickets from the hotel, which allowed us to return the next day for free. As mentioned earlier the rooms were emmaculate and there was some serious effort put into the updated modern design. The only complaints I might have would be that the opening for the room safe was too small to fit my laptop ( Never had that problem before at other places) and the lack of a microwave in the room.
