Hotel ai Mori d'Oriente - Venedig

Das Hotel liegt doch einigermassen abseits vom Zentrum der Stadt. Dafür liegt es wunderbar ruhig, in der Nacht herrscht absolute Stille. Zimmer eher klein, aber sehr komfortables Bad. Frühstück ok, aber man kommt nicht ins Schwärmen. Kann das Hotel aber trotzdem weiterempfehlen, jedenfalls sehr charmant eingerichtet, typisch venezianisch eben.

Alles ok, außer dem fehlenden Frühstücksei ( muss mit 2€ extra bezahlt werden ) und einer unfreundlichen Bedienung in der Bar.

Das Hotel liegt in dem schönen, ruhigen Stadtteil Cannareggio abseits von den großen Touristenströmen. Zu Fuß zum Markusplatz sind es ca. 35 Minuten. Mit dem Vaporetto hat man von 2 Haltestellen aus (verschiedene Linien) die Möglichkeit, ins Zentrum zu gelangen. Unweit des Hotels sind verschiedene kleinere Osterien, Bars etc., bei manchen kann man auch […] draußen sitzen. In nächster Nachbarschaft am Campo dei Mori befindet sich die Osteria L'orto dei Mori, ein sehr empfehlenswertes Restaurant (unbedingt vorher reservieren!). Am Hotel selbst gibt es nichts zu auszusetzen. Der Empfang ist freundlich und hilfsbereit, wie auch das gesamte andere Personal. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig (leckerer Obstsalat!!), die Zimmer incl. Badezimmer absolut in Ordnung. Keine durchgelegenen Matratzen, keine tropfenden Wasserhähne wie wir es bei früheren Venedigaufenthalten in anderen Hotels erlebt hatten. Wir waren im 3. Stock untergebracht. Dass die Wand zum Nachbarhaus recht nahe ist, wenn man aus dem Fenster sieht, läßt sich in einer Stadt wie Venedig wohl kaum vermeiden. Fazit: Gute Lage, gutes Zimmer, gutes Frühstück. Also alles, was ein Stadthotel haben sollte. Deshalb werden wir gerne wiederkommen. Mehr

beim nächsten venedigurlaub werde ich wieder dieses hotel wählen, klein, fein und sauber wenn auch nicht ganz zentral - dafür ruhig

Good breakfast, especially for the cut-mixed-fruits, very delicious and fresh, is unforgettable. The service is very good, good hospitality.

Excellent hotel in a very pretty and interesting location. Away from the crowds yet walking distance from the main sights. Thoroughly recommended.

Very nice hotel suggested for who's looking for a quite area to stay, not so far (10mins walking) from the main Venice amenities (e.g. Rialto bridge).

my boyfriend and I made a surprise for our parents, so the 6 of us booked 3 rooms; rooms varied in size, view and equipment, but we loved all 3. A bit away from tourist madness, very quiet and nice neighborhood...

Excellant service couldnt do more to make us feel comfortable! beautiful breakfasts and everyone very friendly and happy to help at all times!! location is off the beaten track a little but as we didnt mind an extra 5 minutes walk it was perfect. It was perfect distance and just enough out of the way for there not to be any crowd and have perfect quietness […] and calmness. Would recommend it to anyone!! Lovely lovely stay! Mehr

This hotel was the gem of our tour. Staying in Paris, Brussels, Venice, and Rome - the stay in Venice was by far superior. We will return. Don't change a thing. Chosen because it is situated in the very peaceful sestiere of Cannaregio, this hotel has a lot of charm. The decor is a little eccentric, in a vaguely ottoman style, but the staff are exceedingly helpful, polite, friendly and smartly uniformed. The only flaw for us - having upgraded to a more expensive room - was that instead of having a small minibar […] fridge, there was an enormous and completely incongruous white kitchen unit comprising a combined sink/cupboard/fridge positioned next to the bed! This was presumably to replace the missing minibar fridge, but took up far too much space in the room. Furthermore, the fridge unit did not work! However, once this was pointed out on the Friday of our weekend, a normal working minibar did appear by Saturday afternoon, but the kitchen unit did not, sadly, disappear. However, we had lovely canal views from our stone flower-filled balcony and an extremely good bellini from the little hotel bar - the lady behind the bar should be particularly mentioned for making one feel very welcome - she is a really friendly and jolly person. The reception staff were also charming and efficient. Overall, this hotel is quite expensive given there are not many modern facilities (as it is 4-star, one might expect bathrobes to be provided), but wins out for its location, cleanliness and service. Good customer service. Water taxi service direct to front door. Quiet neighborhood away from the crazy tourist infested areas. Spacious room. Overall a very good hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay (it was for our 25th Wedding Anniversary) the hotel cleanliness is excellent and the hotel is very stylish, our room was extremely comfortable with everything we needed,there is plenty of choice for breakfast and everything is delicious,the staff were very polite courteous and helpful and we would recommend anyone to stay […] there, we would certainly stay again if we came back to Venice. Hotel Ai Mori was very clean, comfortable and much better than I expected. I am not to sure about the location. it cost 6 Euro by water bus to go to am Marks square(one way pe person). Walking takes 45 to 50 mints. Staff was very friendly. Brekfast was great.

A short and scenic walk to the vaparetto, through charming streets, is all the separates this hotel from the major tourist sites of Venice. We loved the refreshing relative quiet of the "neighborhood", while still easily being able to quickly be part of the hustle and bustle of Central Venice. The staff is charming and helpful, they bend over backwards […] to assist however possible. Note: there isn't a lot to do in this particular section of the city, but don't let that scare you away from this charming boutique hotel. Nice breakfast daily. Will return! Mehr

Excellent and very friendly hotel but unforunately our room in the side building 2.floor had troublesome ventilation and no aircondition running outside summer season!

The room we were given was a closed room with no windows except on the roof. It was very humid that day and was drizzling. And the A/C was not working properly. We had a tough time to sleep as we were sweating. They said they would take care of it next day but didn't seem to improve anything. For the money we spent, we didn't feel like it was worth […] it. A good clean hotel on a canal. No elevators so ask for room on the ground floor if you have leg problem. Good breakfast choice. A very friendly staff. Convenient Waterbus stops. Shops quite nearby. St Marcos square 25 minutes by walking.

This hotel is a wonderful oasis away from the crowds in Venice. The front desk staff was most helpful and the rooms were very comfortable. The breakfast was about average for Europe. We would definitely go back again.

We loved this quaint Venice hotel. It was near the Jewish Ghetto neighborhood which my husband and I enjoyed. It's a little outside all the famous sites, so if you like the action to be right outside your door this is not the place for you. We however found the area perfect and it was not difficult to walk to other locations.

This was a beautiful hotel. Overall we had a fantastic experience, despite some bumps at the beginning (room wasn't ready, bags didnt get put in room, no elevator, bellboy brought the bags when we asked for them, dumped them at our door and ran away before we could open the door after he knocked). The area is pretty close to the main road, and the staff […] at the front were nice and helpful, drawing us maps to where we wanted to go. However, the actual area of the hotel was in a pretty quiet and desserted area. It didn't feel safe late at night to be walking home. Room was spacious, beautifully decorated. This was definitely one of the nicest rooms we stayed at during our entire Europe trip. I would reccomend it to anyone as long as they are ok with stairs and sometimes strange staff behaviour. Mehr

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this 4 star hotel located mainly in a residential area. We stayed here for 7 nights and would definitely go back to the same place. Our room had no view but that was okay. Located close to a vaporetto stop on the canal and the restaurants in the area were very good. Most of the restaurateurs spoke English so no need […] to feel alienated. Don’t bother with the hotel excursions, especially the one that visits Murano. We ended up watching a demo on how glass is made and then herded into a showroom of very expensive glass pieces. Take the water bus to the island and do it yourself. The breakfast wasn’t bad but we kind of got fed up with it after 7 days. They had a variety of cold meats, croissants, cereal, juices, coffee etc. We took a day trio to Lido. Unless you really want to relax at a so-so beach, don’t bother. Mehr

The Hotel ai Mori d'Oriente is a modest but excellent hotel away from the swarms of tourists. In the city's Cannaregio neighbourhood, the streets and canals are quiet, although there's a upbeat stretch of night life just to the south alonf Sestiere Cannaregio, with excellent bars and and restaurants (Jimon is a standout bar for wine and cheap eats). The […] hotel is clean, the staff are attentive; throw in a great neighbourhood which is still home to locals, no craziness of the disneyfied San Marco city centre but just a couple of minutes' walk from shopping and nightlife - this is a great hotel to choose for a short city break. We had a nice surprise, for the price and in a touristic place like Venice we had a very low expectative about the hotel, but it is a beautiful place with very comfortable rooms, a big bathroom (very estrange in Europe) and a good breakfast. We had a problem with the fridge in our room that was not working and they told us that the fridge was old and […] could not be repaired so the only solution was to change it for a new one but they could not do it during our stay, so we did not have cold drinks in our room. We also notice that there was a lot of dirt under the furniture in the room, you do not notice this at once, but I had to look for a ring I drop under the TV table and then I notice how dirty it was. Besides these two inconveniences everything was great and we had an excellent time in Venice. Mehr

I had the nicest weather in Venice and this hotel made it even more pleasent.

This hotel was a little gem. It was very ornate and beautifully appointed. I will say the bathrooms were typically VERY small but well appointed and nice. The location was very quiet in the Jewish Section of Venice. there were lots of great little restaurants and shops close by. The breakfast that was included was good but not extensive. Our stay at Hotel ai Mori d'Orient was a dream come true and a great value for Venice in the high season. For those who want a peaceful rest in the midst of sometimes too busy Venice, this is the place to book. Readers who want to be in the heart of St. Marks will not like the location (although it is only a twelve minute or so stroll) but for those […] who want an authentic Venetian neighborhood and a haven from the crush of tourists, this is the perfect place. The elegant hotel is on a quiet, pretty canal with fabulous wine bars and restaurants close by, and within short walking distance to the Rialto Bridge, St. Marks and several Vaparetto stops. the hotel was really nice and the location was perfect. You get the most out of your visit. Easy to get to most of the sites and the location is quiet for a relaxing break. Hotel staff were really helpful with our enquries.

The location of this hotel is great if you want to be outwith the tourist throng, but still be within easy walking distance of all the 'sites'. It's an ideal hotel on a relatively quiet canal, with 3 tables outside - many places seemed not to have outdoor space- , ideal for sipping delicious bellinis after a evening out. The bar is just inside and served […] coffee etc. all day ; we loved watching the world go by on the canal. We had a superior room, although requested a change as our first room had internal window. The subsequent nights were in a more airy 1st floor room. The air conditioning worked well when we used it ( great as it gets humid in summer) and the hotel was very clean and well organised. The Cannegerio district is more 'real' Venice - it's great to walk away from the tourists! There's a well-stocked mini supermarket just over the nearest bridge, and plenty of lovely local restaurants in the next street up; we liked Bella Vita for a good atmosphere and delicious take-what-you-get antipasti. This hotel has everything you need, My partner and I really enjoyed our breif stay in Venice. The hotel staff are friendly and the rooms clean. When I go back to Venice I would like stay in this hotel again. Its a little out of the way from some of the tourist sights, however Venice isn't that big to be a major problem.

The rooms are small but beautifully decorated. The lobby is nice. The breakfast is great. The neighborhood is a real Venetian neighborhood in Cannareggio and is very quiet. The breakfast was excellent. The service was great. Caveat, my wife and I speak fluent Italian. If you want to be right where all the action is, this is not the neighborhood for […] you, but Venice really is not that big a city. Mehr

Cet hôtel est charmant,ssitué à 15 minute de la gare, 10 minutes du Rialto et 20 minutes de la place Saint Marc. Les chambres sont belles, la litterie toutefois pourrait être plus confortable, mais rien de redibitoire. Le petit déjeuner est peu varié, mais trés coorect et copieux. une enseigne à recommander les yeux fermés.

Tout est parfait. Rien à dire sur cet hôtel. Seul hic, je ne trouve pas trop normal , qu ' à l'arrivée, on nous demande les pièces d'identité et la carte bancaire pour en faire des photocopies, au cas ou nous causerions des dégâts. Une personne mal intentionnée en possession de la photocopie de la carte bancaire, peut en faire usage.

Var hjemmefra meget i tvivl om dette hotel, men ved ankomst stod det helt klart: Hotellet er fantastisk. Dejlig beliggenhed lige ud til en lille kanal i den mere stille del af Venedig. Man skal være frisk på at gå lidt mere da der er et lille stykke til bl.a. Rialto broen og Markus pladsen. Vi synes at det var lækkert for så bor man væk fra de lange […] køer og travle gader med larm. Mange fantastiske restauranterlige i området og hyggelig bar på hotellet. God morgenmads buffet. Mehr

Veldig fint hotell i en ellers så falleferdig by. Rommene hadde de fleste fasiliteter på plass som luftkjøling, safe og minibar. Internett var ikke på rommet, men kun i lobbyområdet mot en ekstra avgift. Personalet var veldig hyggelige og hjelpsomme. Hotellet ligger i et rolig område som gjør at det er enkelt å sove om natten. We vonden het hotel zeer goed wat de kamers betreft.We hadden wel een tweepersoonskamer in de nabijgelegen straat .Ik kan mij niet uitspreken over de kamers in het hotel zelf.Het ontbijt was zeer lekker .Niets op aan te merken .Een aanrader

Très bel hôtel en bordure de canal, mais pas de vue sur l'extérieur. Nous avons refusé la chambre qui nous était destiné car il fallait sortir de l'hôtel aller dans une annexe pour trouver une petite chambre avec une toute petite fenêtre au plafond. Il n'ont fait aucun problème et nous ont finalement proposer une autre chambre située cette fois-ci dans […] l'hôtel, avec fenêtre mais sans vue (mur). Personnel adorable, super petit-déjeuner, luxe, calme et volupté. Mehr
