Hotel Antiche Figure - Venedig

We travelled from Rome to Florence, Pisa and finally Venice for our honeymoon and this hotel was by far the friendliest we staying in during our trip. The staff are lovely and make your stay easy and comfortable. It was great coming out of the train station and seeing the hotel right opposite - especially with bags that you only have to carry over […] one bridge to get there. It's very handy for getting the water buses as they go from outside the station. Getting on the water buses at the start of the 'line' was an advantage as they became much busier as they go down towards Rialto etc. It's in a great area for wandering around gift shops and getting a cake in the evening. The breakfasts are nice too. My parents had staying in the sister hotel up the canal which is how we found this one. We would definitely recommend to others. Mehr

You can't beat the location on the grand canal and across from the train station. The staff at the desk and bar on all shifts and very friendly and helpful. The even upgraded us to a larger room. Will definitely stay there again

They kept our luggage for a few hours after our cruise and before our check in time. This gave us time to walk the city. Very nice hotel, staff was helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

A little further out from the city center than I would prefer, but room quality and great staff make up for it. Also very convenient if arriving or leaving by train. Would definitely stay again.

Superb location and outstanding staff! An excellent location on the Grand Canal, 1 minute walk to the train station and water buses, 5 minute walk to Piazzale Roma (buses, tram to cruiseport). The staff were excellent!! We relied on them for lots of advice and guidance and they were always helpful, friendly, understanding and efficient. I see why […] Trip Advisor ranks this hotel so highly. Rooms were small, pretty, clean and well-appointed. Ours did not overlook the canal but that was probably a bonus - less street/boat noice and you will see plenty of quaint canals in your travels. The breakfast included in the price was very good, nothing hot, but with lots of variety. Free cappuccino in the morning was a nice treat. We chose not to stay around the corner in the hotel's mini-suites (no elevator) but viewed them, and for the small additional cost they offered us, it was tempting! I think their basic rooms were sold out, so they were offering us a deal. We would stay there again for sure. Mehr

I have traveled on business for 30 years all over the world. I can't believe how good the service is at this hotel. You can't possibly want more. Good location. Close to the train station. Good part of town....but the service makes it. Nice job!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay in venice. only had one complaint about the hotel and that would be there pillows, so if your going to stay at this hotel you might want to bring your own pillows.

Good location: easy walk (300m) from station or Piazzale Roma parking, next to Vaporetto (water bus) station. Very courteous & amiable staff. Rooms small, but this is Venice after all. Nicely decorated and appointed. Good continental-style breakfast. Good value for money.

The hotel's rooms are lovely. The staff was kind and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The hotel is just accross the bridge from the train station and close to a beautiful church. A gem of a hotel, we will remember very fondly.

We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel actually was right across the bridge from the train station. There were plenty of excellent restaurants close by and it didn't hurt that the biggest party in the world (Carnevale) was going on when we arrived. Every piazza in the city had something going on. The service here was most impressive, especially […] when we decided we wanted to stay longer and they found us a place nearby for the night that they had no vacancies. Very nice and helpful. Easy access from either train station or car terminal. San Marco is 35-40 minute walk--just so you know.

Excellent hotel - directly opposite the railway station on the other side of the Grand Canal (there is a nearby bridge). Lady on reception was extremely helpful with an excellent restaurant tip. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was good. St Marks Square is about 20 minutes away down the Grand Canal by vaporetto (we bought a 24 hour pass for 18 euros […] and made full use of it). Mehr

We were delighted with our stay at this excellent 3 star hotel. On arrival were surprised to be offered a free upgrade to a junior suite, with king size bed and a sitting area. The room was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The desk staff were very helpful, offering recommendations on local resteraunts, sight seeing ideas and other helpful tips. […] Breakfast was as expected, a selection of yoghurt, pastries and cerals. The Hotel Antiche Figure is in a fine location near Train Station ( other side of Grande Canal (bridge)). Close to Piazza Roma ( Bus Station from airport). Wonderful service. A perfect place to stay. Woulds stay there anytime that we went to Venice. Venice is a walking city, and it is an advantage to be in this area for arrival. Lugging suitcases long […] distances not reccomended. Mehr

This hotel was great. Located right across the bridge from the train station, and easy walking distance. Very convenient to everything in Venice with the vaporetto stop right across the river as well. Service was excellent as well, from start to finish. Highly recommend this hotel!

Nice hotel, great staff... Americans: treat Europeans with the same respect you expect and you'll do great.

The hotel is just opposite the train station. but you have to cross, the brigde. Breakfast reaonable, but does not fit our expectation for the price that we pay. We have hardly any room to open our bags or move around due to the extra bed added. Overall okay

the whole staff , with no exception , is very nice, helpful, kind, they all speak fluent English. Service is their top interest. very personal and intimate atmosphere. The location is very good. I gave my son and new daughter in law their honeymoon cruise out of Venice and booked this hotel for them for the day after. They enjoyed everything about it ... The service staff bent over backwards to make everything special and pleasant for them from getting their room ready for a very early check in ... to helping them plan their day around Venice […] ... Even wined and dined and entertained them at 11 AM while waiting the short time it would take to get their room ready ... Even after a wedding and a honeymoon cruise they were bubbling about this Hotel ... Mehr

Hotel Antiche Figure is an absolute GEM. The location is wonderful in easy walking distance from the bus station, the train station or even the cruise ship terminal. It is located right on the Grand Canal. It is charming. The rooms are clean and cozy. The breakfast was very good. Most of all, the service is outstanding. This hotel was just perfect. Located directly across from the train station (so a quick walk over the bridge and you're there which we needed because we had 3 huge suitcases) this hotel had an old world feel but is maintained very well and is in extremely good condition. The staff were more than kind and were like family by the time we left; they always […] knew our names and would ask us how our days were and sugested many different restaurants and excursions, all of which were wonderful. I loved this area of Venice because it feels like REAL neighborhoods and you're out of the craziness of Rialto or St. Mark's. We foudn a small grocery store very nearby the hotel which we bought lots of staples at (water, pastas and olive iols for gifts). It was so very easy to get around to all the main sights, just buy a water buss pass and head to one of the 3 stops that are super close to the hotel. The staff suggested that I buy a youth card before I bought the 3-day buss pass and it saved me not only $9 on the bus pass but I used it ALL OVER the city. We took them up on the trip to Murano and it was better than we'd expected. Definitely do that because it's free and wonderful! Room was gorgeous and they offered us a free upgrade upon arrival which we took. Breakfast was great, which we got at a discount. I'll always stay here when we come back to Venice because it will feel like I'm coming home!!! Mehr

We came here for our honeymoon and they upgraded us to a newer more modern room. Hotel was very comfortable and close to everything. Located across from the train station -- which i though would be sketchy but was actually a really good location. Easily accessible to every where. The only complaint is our AC didn't work that well and the room was on […] the 3rd of 4th floor and got pretty hot. Other than that, this hotel was much better than we expected. This hotel is ideally located right across the canal from the train station and a few minutes walk to the airport bus. Later we saw some other travellers struggling around Venice with their suitcases trying to find their hotels and we were *so* glad for our choice. The area behind the hotel is quiet and beautiful; gave us a very different taste of […] Venice from the crowded St Marco area. Staff were very helpful and friendly, rooms clean, quiet, comfortable and airconditioning worked well. Free internet connection fast and reliable. Comfortable beds, luxurious bathroom. Mehr

Had a wonderful stay at this little hotel. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Close to Piazzale Roma & Vaporetto's on the Grand Canal. We enjoyed sitting out the front with a glass of wine after a day of touring people watching & watching the action of the grand canal! Mikhale was very helpful as was all the staff. I liked how they had a collection […] of travel books on venice which you could borrow & use during your stay & left it for the next visitor who had forgotten to brings theres! I would definately stay here again. :) Easiest & cheapest way to get to Venice is from Marco Polo airport catch the #5 bus to Piazzale Roma. this will cost you about E2.50 one way. You could not do better! Beautifully situated. Only point of confusion was breakfast - just make sure ahead of time whether your booking does or does not include since a great breakfast is available-plenty of alternatives close by if you prefer.

What a gem!!! I found this hotel from HIGH reviews on TripAdvisor and I"m telling you this hotel is BETTER THAN ANY OTHER. The staff is WONDERFULLY ACCOMMODATING, KNOWLEDGEABLE and HELPFUL in EVERY WAY. My parents and I visited Venice prior to a cruise and we stayed in this hotel for 2 days before and 2 days after the cruise. They have a lovely trip […] to Murano for free, sent me to a beautiful jazz club, made the BEST BREAKFAST BUFFET ever, and had the most adorable rooms!!! Everything EXCEEDED my expectations!! We stayed at this hotel a total of 3 nights & loved it! The staff was so helpful in every aspect as to how to get around, recommending restaurants, and general tips. You truly felt like they wanted you to have an amazing experience. The breakfast was good, the location was convenient, and the room was comfortable. Reasonable rates as well.

This place was great. Fantastic central location, exceptionally clean and the staff were excellent. They helped with places to see and local eateries, generally couldn't be more helpful. For a relatively cheap, central place to stay in Venice, I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is due to visit.

This hotel came exactly as described. While not inexpensive (what is in Venice) it certainly delivered in what we were looking for. Not wanting to schlep bags all over the streets & bridges, we loved that this hotel was just a short hop over the main bridge, by the train station. And while we were prepared with our own restaurant recommendations, they were quick to confirm what lay in store for us at each eatery. The room was totally adequate in size & the bathroom was nicely appointed. We chose a canal view room which was a bit pricey but hey, when in Venice. Also, Venice is so easily accessible by foot and water bus that you don't need to stay near San Marco Square. Loved the staff and new room.

We had an early flight out of Venice and so were looking for a hotel we could walk from to Piazza Roma quickly. Antiche Figure was a very pleasant experience though our room was a few steps away from the hotel in another building. Overall, very nice rooms and friendly service.

As I read other hotel comments and also saw people traipsing thru streets to find their hotels, I appreciated it even more. Our group of 4 rented 2 rooms at this hotel September 4-7, 2009. The staff was friendly and helpful. But we felt the the rooms were extremely small for the price we paid. I was also under the impression that breakfast was included when I reserved the rooms, but we were charged 7 euros for breakfast...

Our experience at the Hotel Antiche Figure was great. The location worked very well for us. Located close to the Santa Lucia Train Station without feeling like you are close. It is also close to the water taxi station and gondola station yet away from the crowds of the Rialto Bridge and San Marcos Square, which were easily within walking distance. This hotel is in the perfect location (very close to the bus station and across the street from the train station and water taxi). We were traveling with our family, including my father (89 years old and using a wheel chair). We had reserved 3 rooms and upon our early arrival, the staff immediately allowed us to check into 2 of our 3 rooms, even giving […] my father a room on the 2nd floor. The buffet breakfast was well worth the extra price considering how high prices can be in Venice. Everyone on staff was extremely accomodating to our questions and needs. We will definitely stay in this hotel again when we return to Venice. Mehr

Our visit was in April, 2009. The most welcome sight after exiting the train in a downpour was looking across the Grand Canal and realizing our hotel was so close!!! You can't beat the location. The next best thing was the staff -- when we were inquiring if there was a Chinese restaurant on the island (I know, strange request, but our daughter who met […] us in Venice had been studying abroad in Italy for 3 months and was SO hungry for Chinese food!)the guy at the desk said, "just a minute, I'll find out." Then he actually ran out the front door of the hotel and down the street to ask a Chinese guy who worked in a store!! We couldn't believe it! They were SO accommodating. Our room would have been fine for two, but since our daughter was with us, they crammed in a roll-away bed next to the Queen bed which they pushed against the wall. There was absolutely no space left to maneuver in the room. (We had requested a room for 3 people -- this was the solution.) However, it didn't bother us at all -- we weren't in the room except to sleep. Didn't have a view, either, but that also wasn't an issue. The free internet in the lobby was also nice. No complimentary breakfast, but we just grabbed something as we were exploring. A tip - consider getting some sandwiches "to go" from a cafe or vendor and eating them sitting dock-side on the lagoon right by the Palazzo Ducal -- an experience and a view we'll never forget. Also, if you inquire about a gondola ride, find out the price and then tell him you'll think about it and start to walk away, I assure you he'll come down 20 Euro! We didn't do it to bargain -- we truly weren't sure if we wanted to go then or later, but he ran after us and knocked the 20 Euro off, so we said ok! We took the cheaper gondola ride of the inner canals, and it was so beautiful and peaceful -- we'd already seen the Grand Canal from the Rialto Bridge anyway. Mehr
