This place sucks and has hookers walking around. They messed up our reservation for a smoking room and we found a condom in the trash in our room. The office has bullet proff glass and it's surrounded by projects.

This is a bare-bones motel/hotel. Room decor is spartan. The one plus was the ability for our adult daughter to have her dog stay in the room. We had two rooms and the one we stayed in had maintenance work still ongoing when we went to the room. There was no mirror in the bathroom. The picture quality of the TV's in both rooms was poor and there was […] no directory of any sort for the TV channels. Given the location of this property this hotel could be upgraded and be a much nicer hotel. As is, it feels like Motel 6 is doing the minimum cosmetic upkeep to keep it open. Mehr

I wasn't expecting much from a Motel 6, just a clean room to sleep in, but that's not what we got. First off, this hotel is WAAAYY on the other side of town in a really bad neighborhood. Next, we checked into our room and pieces of the wall were missing all along the perimeter of the room. Yes, there were literally holes in the walls! Our bathroom door […] also didn't close making it uncomfortable if you are sharing which we were. No mirror in bathroom either. No iron in the rooms, you have to pay a $10 deposit and get it from the front desk. Only pros, good water pressure in the shower, free coffee and the young lady at the front desk was nice. First off, it's a Motel 6, so don't expect large towels, free continental breakfast etc... Although they do have a cafeteria type room with a Microwave and free Coffee in the morning. That being said. If your like me, you just need a nice place to rest during your trip. That's what you get at Motel 6. This particular Motel 6 is well maintained, clean […] and most rooms are smoke free. Being a light smoker I still hate the smell of smoke in a room, I don't even smoke in my house. But you can smoke outside so that's a plus. The room was very clean and well maintained, although it is an older building so there are some cosmetic things that might cause picky people some concern. But they are in the middle of some re-modeling from what I saw, but they're doing it in a very discrete manner so n o worries about being inconvenienced by noise etc... The staff are very friendly and helpful. I did have a problem with my registration but after calling Hotels.com it was taken care of very quickly. One important caveat would be to call ahead to make sure the registration is correct so there's no confusion when you get there. The Motel is located very close to the Capitol and the cab ride is only 10~15 Min and the average cost I had was around $21.00 to get to the Capitol and Museums. There's a McDonalds very close by, as well as a really good Pizza place less than a mile away. There are also allot of nice ethnic restaurants within 2 miles of the motel as well so you won't have to drive too far to eat. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, mostly apartment buildings but I never noticed any shenanigans going on while I was there. They have security and a very well lit parking lot so your car is safe for the most part. Bottom line, I'd stay here again. Other Hotels are so expensive it was nice to find such a reasonable place so close to downtown DC. Mehr

the manager was rude to many kids no carpet on flloors toilet paper roll is on floor behind toilet itwas a terrible experienc that i wish i can get my mmonet back and tell peple to stay away straight ghetto

Booked two rooms each with double beds 4 men had to share two rooms each with a queen size bed. 5 floors apart from each other. Reservations were made almost a week ahead of time. Crew told me that it seems to be some kind of flop house.

Very nice staff and helpful. It's a one star hotel, it served the purpose of my trip. Convenient location to metro station and bus services. Just remember this is a modest and intended for the budget minded traveler.

While I enjoyed the proximity of the hotel to the Takoma red line, the free parking, and the price, I found the customer service to be terrible. Our TV did not work, nor did the WiFi and we were told that "we must be doing something wrong." The man at the front desk assured me many times that his internet worked because he was watching videos on youtube […] with no problem, so he decided our computers must have been broken. This was absurd, and there was internet, but the connection kept breaking up and it was hard to actually get work done and check email. We were also put in a room where they were doing construction on the rooms on eitherside. They were hammering until late at night and early in the morning... overall we would have loved a room change, where the tv worked, no one was doing construction and maybe in a room closer to the internet connection. Overall it was a fine place to spend the night for cheap and the woman on duty in the morning was extremely friendly and helpful. We only wish she had been on that night! Mehr

This was the worst first of all I booked the room through hotels.com requesting a smoking room with a King size bed. When I got there to check it they told me all they had available was double bed smoking room. OMG whats the sense booking the room in advance and I realized thats just to secure the rate because its a motel. If it was a hotel tell you […] get what you book. OK so the rate is the only thing good. They lost power the first night and my BF and I had to go get candles because we got tired of sitting in the dark. The staff did nothing they didn't have any back up and the Hotel was in complete darkness, we had to use our phones as lights to see to walk. Then when we were leaving we asked for a late check out and they told me no. After going through all of that and I couldn't get what I wanted was the last straw. If you want to stay in a run down motel in a nice are motel 6 on Georgia Ave, NW is your place. People say you get what you pay for but not at Motel 6 and dont forget flash lights just in case there is power failure. Mehr

I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. This was the worst hotel I ever stayed in...I stayed there for 2 nights. Power went off on one night They didint have back up generator and the front desk didnt know when would it come and they were so arrogant about it...

elevator wasn't working had to walk up three flights of stairs with suitcases, no mircowave or refrigerator. The only bright spot is that it is convent to the subway and a supermarket, cvs

Even though I liked the location, spacious room, and free parking, I was a bit taken back since they did not have shampoo in the bathroom. The blanket was ripped.

U will get more than what u pay.

Hotel room was decent in accommodation and cleanliness. Staff allowed early check-in and allowed me to leave car parked in their lot seven hours after checkout. Overall, pleased for the price.

The wireless internet would not work at all as they say it would. Also the fire alarm kept going off all hours of the night. The front desk could not speak a lick of english. Also the tv barely worked, no fridge, the bathroom is very very small and they did not even put a new role of tp in the bathroom. Clean and friendly. They put me up on a last minute, late night booking. A long way from downtown DC, but if your business is around Clinton, Maryland, it's a great option.

The night manager was unfriendly and hostile towards other guests. It made our stay very uncomfortable.

I was working a project in the DC area and only needed a place to get a shower and sleep -- this motel provided that. It is a good value for that purpose only. The neighborhood is not scary and there are no real restuarants in walking distance.

Motel 6 on 6711 Georgia Ave in Washington DC failed to meet my expectations compared to Motel 6 Downtown Atlanta. Basically the night staff was arrogant and bossy. There were different kinds of people individuals and groups who trooped in and out of the hotel at night which was suspicious and unsafe to me. There people that I will say were homeless […] that hang around in the lobby each night. Finally, the hallways smell nasty like mixture of cigarettes and alcohol. Mehr

I recently stayed in this hotel and the staff there could not have been nicer or more helpful. They allowed me to leave my car in the parking lot both before and after my stay, checked me in early and upgraded my room, at no extra charge, from a standard to a king-size bed. The hotel is located close to a metro station, which the staff will help you […] find, and has free wi-fi. Overall, an excellent hotel for the price and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Mehr

I found the room to be acceptable. However the hallway smelled badly like the carpet was very dirty/ The staff was helpful and the room was cleaned well. The location was close enough to the metro to walk and there is a bus stop even closer.

Hotel was about 10 minute walk from nearest metro station. Room was clean but smelled. Bedding was VERY uncomfortable and cheap! No iron, microwave, coffee pot. Not in the safest of neighborhoods.

Very stiff beds not comfortable at all. You get what you pay for.

Spartan cheap hotel in DC. Good for students, workers, and people traveling on the cheap.You get what you pay for! Internet was sporadic at best.

Yes, the carpet was sticky and dirty. You have to wash your feet if you walk bare feet. Wireless internet is there as advertised, except it is not working. You can connect to the wireless network which is not connected to the internet. You get what you pay for.

My family and i had a wonderful hoilday in Wash DC and we were v happy with the hotel . the staff was very welcoming and helpful . The location is great - u ahve the comfort of 2 subways between walking distance to the hotel and thast perfectt!! parking was a bit of a issue - strreet parking but the hotel staff tries their best to help out - so we parked […] out car in one location only for the 5days and didnt move it till we left DC. also parking in downtown Dc is a big hassle and costs a lot of money -so its best to use the MEtro - great transit system . the rooms were clean and well equipped - the beds were double size( that could be a problem if you ahve big n tall people ) but we managed anyways . the Bfast was ok- all costco stuff- basic food - but ok to pull you thru the morninig - would have liked to ahve some glassware for the bfast - such as mugs for coffee and plates instead of cheap foam stuff - but overall good experience -!!!! It the worse night in my life ever the bed was super dirty and cleanless so I had to leave as soon as when I got up.

It was cool, Nothing special, but a place to stay. the Motel6 could stand to relpace their carpet in the hall ways, and fix their vending machines...
