Ich war privat und alleine auf Reisen und daher auf der Suche nach einer günstigen Unterkunft in NY. Das Hotel liegt zwar etwas außerhalb, aber es wird ein Shuttle-Service angeboten, der einen morgens mitten ins Zentrum NYs (Times Square) und abends wieder ins Hotel bringt (man kann zwischen verschiedenen Zeiten wählen). Ist zwar etwas teurer als der […] öffentliche Nahverkehr, aber dafür schneller und der Bus hält direkt vor der Tür (es ist auch möglich, Gepäck im Bus zu transportieren). Das Hotel selbst war für den Preis völlig in Ordnung (wer Luxus will, sollte sich sowieso nicht in dieser Preisklasse bewegen). Es gab im Zimmer unter anderem einen Kühlschrank, eine Mikrowelle, einen Fernseher (leider waren die Qualität und Programmauswahl nicht besonders gut), ein Telefon und Pflegeartikel. Das Zimmer machte einen älteren Eindruck, teilweise mit Gebrauchsspuren, aber es war sauber und ordentlich. Die Fenster konnten geöffnet werden, die Betten waren etwas härter, aber nicht unbequem. Der Internetzugang war relativ schnell und stabil. Das Frühstück war ok (und entgegen der Zimmerbeschreibung im Preis enthalten), es gab Bagels, weiches Brot (konnte getoastet werden), verschiedene Cerial-Sorten, verschiedene Getränke und Oatmeal. Ein wenig Obst und Gemüse wären allerdings schön gewesen. Das Personal war kompetent und hilfsbereit, wirkte allerdings teilweise etwas abweisend (nicht unfreundlich, man hatte aber teilweise das Gefühl zu stören). Die Umgebung mag nicht die allzu beste sein, aber immerhin gibt es Taco Bell, Dunkin Donuts, Wendy's, in Zukunft auch Subways, eine Tankstelle, einen kleinen Supermarkt (zwar auf einem steilen Hügel gelegen, aber trotzdem gut erreichbar) und eine Bar in der Nähe. Einziger wirklicher Kritikpunkt: es war sehr laut. Vom Straßenverkehr habe ich zwar nicht viel mitbekommen, da mein Zimmer auf der anderen Seite lag, aber dafür habe ich sämtliche andere Geräusche von draußen und aus anderen Zimmern sehr deutlich gehört (zum Beispiel wenn Le Mehr

Abgesehen von der ungünstigen Nahverkehrsanbindung und den damit verbundenen Mehrkosten für Buse (5 Dollar einfach nach NY) bzw. Path (1,50 Bus + 2 Dollar Path einfach) evtl. auch Taxi, ist das Hotel voll zu empfehlen. Frühstück ist sehr schlicht aber ausreichend.

Von der ersten Sekunde an wurden wir unfreundlich empfangen, waren wohl sauer das wir einen so günstigen Preis über Hotels.com erhalten hatten. Denn als wir Nachfragten ob wir in fünf tagen nochmals kommen könnten in das selbe Zimmer für drei Nächte da legte die Dame an der Rezeption mal richtig los und war dann bei einem Zimmerpreis für den Bunker […] ohne Vernünftiges Frühstück, Schmutzigen frischen Handtüchern und Teilweise kaltem Wasser ein Absoluter Witz!! Allgemein die Bilder des Hotels sind locker 15-20 Jahre alt wollten beim ersten mal erst an dem Hotel vorbei fahren. Waren über mehrer Tage in den USA unterwegs, man könnte sagen wir haben einen Road Trip gemacht und das war das schlechteste Hotel von allen. Wir wollten rellativ billig im N.Y. wohnen und da wir das ganze Tag in der Stadt sind, hat das Motel vollständig unseren Notwendigkeiten entsprach. Noch ein Typ wie kommt man billig ins Motel. Es muss man fahren mit dem Newark Liberty Airport Express für 25 $ zum Busbahnfof Port Authority, Das ist auch für die Rückfahrt, gültig 65 Tag. Von Port Authority […] kann man dann mit dem Bus 51 für 2,5,bzw. 2,00 $ zur 10th Street fahren. Wir sind mit dem Taxi gefahren und das hat 60 $ gekostet. Wir haben NY das erste Mal besucht und sind trotz unterschiedlicher Bewertungen in dieses Hotel gegangen. Hier sind Frühstück und Telefon (auch Gespr. ins Ausland) im Zimmerpreis enthalten. Zum Frühstück gibt es Toast mit Marmelade oder Streichkäse, Donuts, Muffins und Cornflakes mit Milch, A- und O-Saft. Man sollte möglichst früh dran sein wenn man […] nich im Stehen frühstücken will, denn es sind nur wenige Sitzmöglichkeiten. Wir sind immer gegen 8.30 Uhr zum frühstücken, da war das kein Problem. Nach NY kommt man auch ganz einfach. Das Hotel bietet stündlich (7, 8, und 9 Uhr) einen Shuttlebus für 6 $. Wir sind aber ca. 500m gelaufen (kleiner Hügel aufwärts) und sind mit der Line 51 für 2,50 $ nach NY gekommen. Man kommt dann an der Port Authority an, von wo man mit der U-Bahn jeden Punkt in NY erreichen kann. An der Porth Authrity (Schalter 23) kann man für die Linie 51 Tickets für 2$ erwerben. Wir waren 1 Woche und haben so einiges gespart. Zum U-Bahn-Fahren rentiert sich die Wochen-Metrokarte für 27$. Abens waren die Zimmer immer ordentlich und die Handtücher ausgewechselt. Das Bad war sehr sauber, etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig war das nach Chlor schmeckende Wasser, immerhin enthät es dann wohl keine Keime. Auf dem Weg zum Bus gibt es einen kleinen Supermarkt, der bis 22 Uhr geöffnet ist, da haben wir meist eingekauft. Insgesamt kann ich das Motel für Leute empfehlen, die möglichst günstig NY besuchen wollen. Mehr

Treppenaufgang zum Zimmer war total dreckig und schmuddelig. Die Hotelanlage ist in den Hang reingebaut und deshalb sind die Zimmer sehr düster und man kommt sich vor wie in einem Loch. Es muffelte auch etwas. Ein kleineres Fenster war alles. Im Frühstücksraum klebte der Boden, aber niemand putzte da mal nass raus. Einfache und saubere Zimmer. Trotz Naehe zur Autoschnellstrasse ist ein Schlafen ohne Ohropax moeglich. Sehr gute Anbindung nach NY. Alle 10 Minuten faehrt ein Bus. Das Hotel befindet sich an der Autobahn. Eine Tankstelle ist gleich nebenan sowie ein anderes Hotel. Die Gegend wirkte ungepflegt. die Zimmer könnten einen neuen Teppich gebrauchen, ansonsten stimmt das Preis - Leistungsverhältnis! Sehr hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter!!!

Fur uns war das Hotel völlig ausreichend, da wir nur die Nächte dort verbracht haben.

The rooms were dirty. The pillows, only one each, were dirty, very old and very thin. When we asked for more pillows, 4 extra, so thet we all had only 2, I was yelled at by the management. The rooms were very smelly and dirty. We checked out about half an hour before our private shuttle came to pick us up, told the front desk that we were expecting […] a shuttle. We then waited in the lobby, only 10 feet away, through glass doors. When the shuttle driver arrived and asked at the desk, the management told the shuttle driver that no one of Our name was staying at the hotel. The shuttle driver was about to leave when he came and checked for himself. We would have missed our flight. The staff were rude. They yelled at guests and acted as though they were doing us a favour by letting us stay there. Everything was too much trouble. Mehr

Stay here was ok. A far as having a place to sleep, it's just fine. It's location is a bit out of the way but not so much that it's inconvenient. The inconvenience comes from the people running the hotel who instead of offering you options on how to get to Manhatten they prefer to employ there friends who operate the cabs and shuttles which is of coarse […] the expensive option. Walk 2 blocks up the hill and grab city transit to N.Y. Or grab the chicken bus. It's $2.50 or something. Drops you at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. You can catch the chicken bus at hate 51 every 15 mins until 1am. Once u figure that out its great. Mehr

The only reason I recommend this place is because of its location and proximity to NYC. Nothing else about this hotel is worth recommending. Good to just sleep and take a bath, nothing more.

alot of traffic and very noisy...no gym..no pool... ugly location and view....had to have bedspreads and blankets changed...soiled...not many channels on tv

The singular worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Filthy and broken down.

I have few issues with this Hotel. Not on GPS. Address does not exist. Address could not be found. So for driving in from out of state not helpful. Called local number 2 times no one picked up the phone. Had to call Hotelscom was no help either. No Ice machine near the room Had to call 2 times for extra pillows TV was bad. Half of the channels were […] snow and static. Have not seen that since early 80s. Low water pressure, had to skip the shower. Bed, not the most comfortable Room very small, bad layout. Mehr

The hotel was a cheap price but it smelled like curry in the room we tried to air it out but the smell wouldn't go away. The hotel was actually located on a hwy which kinda makes it inconvenient to get to. We didn't want to pay for a taxi every time to get back and forth so we walked the distance to the bus station isn't far but it's dangerous the people […] drive way to fast and don't care about pedestrians. So it would have been nice to know that it was a freeway not an actual street. The hotel was decent for the price. Although the smell was not good. We went for breakfast in the morning but all the food was gone already and there wasn't that many people even there so they need to prepare more food for the guests. Mehr

After a long day out, all I wanted to do was collapse and watch a little TV. Well, the TV did not work, something about an interior cable not working. At 10:30 pm, I was offered another room. All I would have to do was pack up all of my belongings, and drag my disabled 88 year old mother and all of our stuff up a flight of steps! Supposed to get a king bed in one of the rooms but the bed was a double; they changed us to a room with 2 doubles and were very nice about it.. The hill going up to our rooms was very steep. Would definitely not try to climb it in snow or ice. It served our purpose but the rooms are tight. Staff was very nice.

The hotel staff was very accommodating to our evolving needs during our recent stay. The room itself was okay - clean and reasonably comfortable, if a bit shabby. The public areas of the building in which we stayed were dirty and littered, and we saw little or no effort to clean them up during our stay. In contrast, the lobby area was very clean. The rooms with two queen beds are very large - easily twice the size of the rooms with single kings. Television service is poor - most channels came in snowy. The so-called "hot continental breakfast" is a little misleading. The only hot items provided, besides coffee and tea, are instant oatmeal packets and bread if you toast it. Dirty pillows and beds.Bad Location.

I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel given some of the terrible reviews I read. We stayed there with our two young children - we were in the middle building up the small hill. The room was very clean and spacious for our overnight stay. I'm very picky about the cleanliness of bathrooms and our bathroom was spotless. The continental breakfast was […] good too. Wallpaper was peeling off, room smelled, neighborhood was dirtiest place ive ever had the displeasure of seeing, and the bus stop is over half a mile uphill walk on a MOUNTAINSIDE!!! Also-- there was NO HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER and I was visiting in DECEMBER!!!!!! The hotel's location lets you almost stay in NYC without paying NYC prices. But, it is not a luxury facility nor are there very many amenities in the neighborhood. It's basically a place to lay your weary head without breaking the bank in the process. Staff was courteous. Room was ready when I arrived early.

I recommend this only if you are planning on visiting new york city. the room have no microwave, not even a small refrigerator, the safety box should be for free, the rugs in the room should be change.

Ive stayed here in the non smoking rooms plenty times before an everything was nice and clean and well organized. This go round I stayed in a smoking room...there was no more on the door instead on day two of my stay I was awaken by a phone call to say some men were coming to install it. It was a "cool stay" in N. Bergen. The hotel was conveniently located in S. Jersey. Yet, it was near downtown N.Y. Transportation was very conveniently accessed. Very cool atmosphere. Thank you for the hospitality.

First room I was given had a moldy shower. The tub basin was covered in hair. Asked for another room. This one had dirty shirts, with something smeared/ smudged on them. I left at this point.

the expense is worth and actually you can take the shuttle bus to NYC, it is so convenient.

Room was clean. Sheets were clean Spacious bathroom Excellent location- very close to NYC I will stay there again!!!

We stayed there to visit NYC. The beds were very hard and the cleanliness lack a little but overall it wasn't bad. We only used the room to sleep and take showers. The bathrooms were clean. they could have used the sweeper a little better. the bus to take you to NYC picked you up right in front of the hotel and dropped you off there, which was nice […] . Mehr

So this was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in I would have rather stated in a hostel in NYC I caught greyhound there so transportation was crazy the shuttle bus was $7 pp each way except for last bus at 11 pm its $10!!internet said $3 !
