Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort - San Luis Obispo

Tolle Lage, schöne Umgebung -- und sicherlich einmal ein nettes Hotel, aber hier wurden die Zimmer sicherlich schon seit Jahren nicht mehr renoviert. Alles etwas veraltet und verkrustet. Schade.

My wife and I stayed one night at the hotel. The check-in staff were very nice. We got there late and checked out early, so we didn't have time to check out all that the hotel and grounds had to offer. The room was clean, however, very dated. The sulfur hot springs tub on the patio was nice. If we go back, we will definitely check out the walking/hiking […] trails and make use of the spa services. Mehr

Hot tube was wonderful . Streams ,trails to ocean view beautiful.

Room was dark, cheaply built with paper thin walls. Heard every movement of the family of 4 above us. Kids jumping off beds for hours on end. Hotel is in a sad state, at least the rooms we were in. I would rather stay at a chain where at least I felt like rooms were maintained well,clean and modern. Wonderful place! Great trails to walk or hike, beautiful rooms, friendly stay, incredible dinner at the restaurant.

Tired of fighting the hoards of beach people? Slip into this off-the-path resort and be amazed. I couldn't have been more relaxed coming out of the sulfer spring hot tub on my private deck. The bedding was amazing, the room service quick and appropriately priced, the staff wonderful and the complimentary Yoga class was a nice treat as well.

Considering that the rooms are quite worn out, the rates are expensive. Overall, nice, quiet settings. Hot springs are a plus.

The location was good, even though it was out of the city. Beautiful trees. The hotel was a lot older then I thought from the photos I saw on line. The rooms weren't what I thought they would be. The walls were not very thick, we could hear conversations of our neighbors. They weren't being loud, they were just talking. The staff were very nice and […] the rooms were clean just older. I'm not sure I would stay here again, but if we did hopefully we can take advantage of the hiking. It rained the days we stayed. Mehr

Nice Hotel- Great Location, just a little bit run down inside. Furniture has scratches and dings, stains on chairs, etc. But, overall, a great value and a very comfortable room.

The room was lovely but the staff were very rude. I was suprised at this due to the upscale feel of the hotel. They also got our dinner order wrong twice. However I denjoyed my room and made the best of everything.

The yoga space is amazing. The room we had was so comfortable. We didn't like the food in the restaurant but everything else was great. We definitely will be back!

paid $$$ to stay in a shabby hotel room with old dirty carpet; squeeky bed; plastic matress pad; could hear walking overhead, loud TV, and couple on balcony next door.

I needed some time away and this hotel served the purpose well. it is by no means luxury so don't go in with that expectation. It is quite and relaxing and the resturant has good food, but a little extravagantly decorated. Great yoga classes in the yoga dome don't miss out on them. Overall great stay and would go again.

If you enjoy the outdoors, this is a wonderful place to stay and hike, hot tub and go to beach in sunny weather!! My husband and I always enjoy Sycamore for a fresh, clean and perfect location!

The Sycamore Resort is a great hotel for getting away from a busy life in the city. There is not much to do, which is the point of getting away. The resort is very relaxing. We did a short hike up the Sycamore Trail and relaxed in the hot tub as the sun went down. Great place!

this is a place to get away and relax! free yoga or pilates to guests was a great plus ... the hot mineral spring jacuzzi on the balcony was heavenly ... probably used it 5 times a day for two straight days! the bob jones trail the goes to Avila Beach is such a nice walk, or bike ride .. next time will bring the golf clubs, the course was empty!! anyone […] looking for a place to get away from the hussle and bustle of LA, this is the place ! The hotel was a good price in a convenient location with several amenities and services available. The room was comfortable and the hot tub attached to the room made for a great experience. The mineral springs were a good experience as well although it was much hotter than expected with no temp control. The service staff at check in was very friendly […] and made us aware of all the free activities available to us. The only disappointment was that a family member tried to call in to buy our breakfast for our anniversary but the front desk seemed to think it not possible despite someone already saying it could. There is a nice paved trail that runs behind the resort so bring a bike if you go. Also it may be good to do one of the massage packages, we will definitely do one next time. Mehr

Great service and a would recommend this place to anyone. We have been here three times in the past year and half. Everytime has been relaxing and great service. Will be back many more times.

Beautiful property, and private rooms and private patios with your own hot tub that you fill yourself with fresh or mineral spring water. Access to hiking and biking trails right from the property. we had such a great stay with our whole family. Kids enjoyed it too. We rode our bikes to Avila beach (our favorite spot along the central coast) on the […] beautiful Bob Jones Trail. Mehr

Room is not so new but bus tab in the room was nice.

The room was equipped 3 feet high doubel bed. Asked to change room twin bed with low high . No room available.according to desk clerk. Had hard night to climb up and down the bed with narrow bed. Couldn't sleep more than 2 hrs. The front desk clerk replied no room available when asked for low hight bed.

The setting allows you to forget about the hustle of the city, especially if you go to the butterfly grove in Pismo during your stay.

I went here with my friend in April. Everything was fun and we booked a suite which was really nice and sweet. However this time, it SUCK. Price was ridiculous. the mineral spring turned into 17 per person per hr compare to april's 12 per hr with no matter how many people you have. the front desk lady ignorned me. she just chatted with the other girl […] who works there and having fun. she told us we dont have to bring towel they would provide us and YES ITS NOT FOR FREE. I pretty much just go for the private hot tub. Customer service in person is good. Customer service on the phone could use a lot of work and the beds are not comfortable for side sleepers. Good location otherwise.

I took my girlfriend away for one night. Not bad in the end. However, I didn't get the "warm and fuzzies" from the girl checking us in. I asked what late checkout would be and she said it was noon but I would have to call the morning of. I thought this was strange given the fact that checking is not until 4 pm. It is not a large property and I thought […] it was unusual to need 5 or 4 hrs to turn over a room. The yoga classes don't start until 12:30 anyway. So for folks who just come up for the night, you either do yoga at 8:30 pm or you can do it the next day but you can't shower in the room since you have have been checked out by then. If I as running the resort, I would think about that since there are lots of semi local folks who would contemplate coming for a night. Mehr

I booked a room for my son and his new bride on their wedding night through hotels.com. I then went to the resort the week of their wedding to make sure the room had been paid for and it was what we wanted. Neil at the front desk said yes as long as he had a credit card for incidentals to check in. when he checked in on his wedding night they would […] not recognize his bank card, the same kind I used to pay for the room. So I had to give them my card on the phone. Then they charged me extra for a deposit and a plus which they could not account for after I talked to Anthony the manager. The bank told me this morning that as long as they do not send a receipt to them i will not be charged. The kids also had to have a golf cart to get to their room and fill their own hot tub. They said they would offer something special for newlyweds, but they did not get a crumb and all they bought for themselves was a two dollar bottle of water so as not to incur any expenses, at least they could have offered a small continental breakfast. Totally unexpected and incredible. The cottage we stayed in was over a bridge and down a trail in the middle of the forest. The mineral spring hot tub on the private balcony, the fireplace, and soft plush king size bed made for two of the most romantic and sex filled days/evenings of our lives! Thanks again mom! ;) :)

It is nestled in a beautiful hillside with great gardens and wildlife. The coast is just down the street with some great restaurants and shops. The room was very spacious and clean but not extravagant. I would suggest staying if your getting a good deal. Not worth overpaying for.

LOVED it!! This was wonderfully relaxing!

We loved the meadow suites! Very private, romantic the perfect getaway! The bed and shower were are favorite. Loved having the outdoor hot tub as well!!! All the staff were very friendly, made it a point to let us know that they were there for us. Worth the money, especially since every other hotel in the area was the same price or more. The hotel was great on all counts EXCEPT that we had a very noisy neighbour running the hot tub past midnight and people at reception was unwilling to enforce their own "bo hot tub past 11pm" policy. The thing ended with us banging at the neighbours door and it was very unpleasant.

Great spot to relax and unwind. Please note if you book through Expedia and want a room with the sulfur mineral bath, you must specifically request it or you will get a room with regular water. It will have some mineral content but will not be the sulfur water.

had a great time at this hotel and will go back again. Just didnt like that we didnt get our room cleaned for our second day stay. All else was great and very relaxing. I will be back asap!!!!

The grounds at the Sycamore Springs are lovely and enjoyed the resort, particularly the ammendities such as the hot tub and pool; however, the location next to the busy road and the noise from the cleaning crew and surrounding rooms made it difficult to rest in the room.

Very dissapointed with this hotel. It was our last day of vacation and it kind of spoiled it. We were traveling from Yosemite and called on the phone to see the possibility of checking in earlier (posted at 16:00), the person said they would try to accommodate us. We delayed the arrival to 13:00 (check out is 11:00 but we all know nobody stays to that […] time) to give them more time to have the room ready. When arriving, they had not advised that our request for a roll away bed could not be met, they had no way to contact us(in the 4 days prior to showing up) to let us know, apparently the phone number did not transfer from Hotels.com to their system. They advised none of the 14 rooms that met our reservation was ready but they would call us as soon as one was. We waitied and waited but nobody ever called. We showed up at 16:45 and got our room, no explanation or apology about the lack of call. The rooms are in this fancy buildings with difficult access, limited parking, and confusing directions. They are dated and not worth the price. I am a big fan of this area and had been going to the hot spa for many years but never actually as a hotel guest. They let us down big time. Mehr
