This was a wondeful hotel, very attentive staff in a beautiful enviornment. We wouldn't hesitate to come back here again. Wonderful views.

We absolutely adored the Poseidon. The hotel is wonderful: beautiful, quaint, clean. Just lovely. The staff are warm, friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is perfect: up the hill far enough to have amazing views, but not so far as to make trekking into town unpleasant. We stayed in a deluxe room, which was spacious, clean, and really beautiful. […] The balcony was amazing. We fell asleep in our lounge chairs one night to the sounds of Italian musicians playing afar, stars shining, lights twinkling... The views from the room were the best in Positano. Very nice balcony, big comfy bed, a romantic dream. A bonus is easy access by car. All members of the staff do everything they can to make your stay a wonderful experience

Hotel room had a weird smell ... a cross between sewer gas, mildew and cleaning products. The hotel is a little tired. Staff was friendly. Quaint area. Quality of the hotel for the price was lacking. Food at the hotel restaurant was great. Fabulous views.

Lovely hotel, nicely positioned in terms of access to the town/beach and main road. Great view from the terrace. Staff were really helpful. Only points of improvement are: - the breakfast could be better - would suggest they made it a continental buffet with the choice of ordering hot food off a menu instead of the 'little bit of everything, but not […] really substantial' buffet they have. - sometimes the noise from the bar/restaurants below the hotel affects the rooms facing the town. It disturbed us a couple of nights although didn't go beyond 1amish. -DVD players the rooms or more TV channels would be good. Mehr

We thought Hotel Poseidon was just fantastic. A super family run hotel with the perfect location high enough on the hill so that you could get the view of Positano and close enough that you could walk to the beach and town center. My Husband and I could not recommend this hotel enough, go and stay there just fantastic!

Excellent location providing breathtaking views of Positano a short walk up the hill. Staff is friendly and attentive. Rooms were large and immaculate. The restaurant/bar/pool terrace area is beautifully adorned with plants and trees. Great deli, Latteria, right across the street to boot.

An amazing find in Positano. You MUST stay here. The staff is the secret. They are ultra helpful and amazingly attentive. The views are THE BEST. The terrace is a great place to lounge and relax. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed in a old world way. We will ONLY go back and stay at The Poseidon.

They raved about the Poseidon vs the others because of the care and friendliness of the staff. We will definitely stay at Poseidon when we reutrn to Positano/Amalfi Coast. We should have extended. Our stay at the Poseidon exceeded our expectations in so many ways. To start, when we arrived they parked our car for us while we checked in, made suggestions for dinner and made reservations, then suggested we enjoy the pool while they prepared the room (we were very early for check in). When we arrived at the pool we were greeted by a lovely gentlemen […] with two towels who asked what loungers we would like him to prepare. The stay continued in this vein, the reception staff organised a driver for us, massages and always happy to provide many answers to my questions on sights & restaurants. They suggested we enjoy the music and prosecco by the pool in the evening which was also a treat. For breakfast you were also spoilt for choice including a glass of prosecco. Located on the hill you enjoyed the views however were also a quick 10 minute walk to tge centre of the action. I could go on. Treat yourself to this little gem. Mehr

The hotel is set in a perfect position. You are half way down the hill into the town of Positano. The view from our room is spectacular as is the view from the pool and the dinning area. It has old world charm with all the modern amenities. The staff are the most friendly I have ever encountered while on holiday. Added bonuses are the use of a 1968 […] VW convertible beatle to explore the near by area as well as a lovely private boat cruise for up to 4 and wine all complimentary. Excellent staff, great location, fantastic breakfast and an overall awesome atmosphere. The guys at the desk were genuinely very nice and caring. I needed to use a computer and they went out of their way to accommodate my wife and I. Marco and Francesco were simply excellent!

The Hotel Poseidon is a beautiful, off-the-charts place to stay in Positano. The location is ideal. The staff does everything right. The interior of the hotel is exquisite....the dining terrace overlooking the sea and the town feels right out of a movie set. The food, staff, attention to detail is excellent. Our only dissapointment were the twin beds […] in a superior double room. But we overlooked that because everything else is "so right" about this place. We had requested adjoining rooms with our teenage daughters and that's exactly what we had. Poseidon is very accommodating. We had a miscommunication about setting up a driver to pick up my family at the Naples train station. I never received a confirmation on this after multiple emails. The hotel went ahead and sent a driver and subsequently paid the driver $140 Euros. I had arranged for my own driver. Anyway, upon checking out, the charge was on my bill. We explained the situation calmly and clearly. The hotel absorbed the cost. In this day and age, to see a hotel step up and do that was very impressive. The Poseidon is there to make sure the guest is treated just like a guest in their home. We cannot say enough about this Paradise by the Sea. We look forward to the day we will return. Mehr

What an incredible hotel!!! Service to boot. They upgraded our room for free because a nicer room had become available. Absolutely nothing negative to say. They are all about service. The only thing that was a huge problem was the lack of Internet in our room. The staff informed us that in our room specifically wifi was not working. Needless to say it was a pain in the butt having to go up to the pool deck everytime we needed to use the Internet. Also no air in the workout room made it very unpleasant to workout in.

We absolutely fell in love with this hotel, and the surroundings and the town of Positano..!..this hotel is a gem..nestled between mountains & water giving us a spectacular view of both. You are in the lap of luxury & beauty when you are staying at this hotel. The food was delicious..service was excellent..people were amazing & sweet..and the location […] was outstanding. The only one thing upsetting was the poor wifi connectivity in the room. We were quite upset about that and hope the hotel owners will get that fixed in near future. Location is perfect for Positano. Not too far up the hill from the beach but far enough up the hill to provide excellent ocean views. The staff were fantastic, always respectful, helpful and friendy. Hotel restaurant and pool were a perfect way to finish the day.

Great location very handy to all of Positano. The hotel is old, decorated extremely well and well appointed with modern amenities. The best thing about the hotel is the staff. There is absolutely nothing they wouldn't do for you and nothing was ever a problem.

The Poseidon hotel was located in a perfectly wonderful location of Positano, and it was very accessible to the beach, to restaurants and the ferry/bus. We loved the Posiedon. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious. The terraces had magnificent views down the Amalfi Coast and there are a number of real nice sitting areas inside the hotel, too. The breakfast buffet is real good and the staff, especially Angelo and Jessica, are wonderful. And this location is more quiet than some others because it's not […] too close to the area where the local buses pick up passengers and leave the town. Hotel location is on the upper part of Positano. If you are coming in on boats be prepared for a hike. def recommend arriving by car/taxi as you can pull right up to hotel with your luggages. Def get a room with balcony! I stayed on the 3rd floor and sat at my balcony for 3 hours just drinking and enjoying the view. The gym needs a little bit of attention, so if that is your main reason for booking it don't get your hopes up too high. The terrace and swimming pool are lovely (for a town that doesn't have many). The restaurants around the hotel are some of the best in Positano. The staff couldn't be more helpful and we would stay there again anytime.

We were blown away by Positano itself but our stay at the Poseidon was the icing on the cake. From the moment we arrived the staff were absolutely amazing and made us feel welcome. The room was very large and airy with a really nice atmosphere and lots of charm. We had a large balcony with amazing views over Positano. The bar, restaurant and pool/terrace […] were all fantastic. Brilliant service at the bar and when eating and again the staff were so nice. Finally, any hotel that has everything you need for a bloody mary or a bucks fizz at breakfast gets my vote! Overall the service and standards here set the Poseidon apart and we felt more like we were in a 5 star hotel. Mehr

I was VERY happy with Hotel Poseidon. The service was outstanding from the moment we arrived. We loved our room with the painted ceramic floor tiles and lovely terrace. We did this trip with another couple and had a great time. We stayed for 3 nights and found the location to be fine-we're all in our upper 20's and could handle the walk. It's about […] 330 steps down to the beach if you take the stairs or if you prefer a more leisurely walk, you can walk along the road and stop in all of the little shops and it's not too difficult. The meals were very good and the pizza in the afternoons from their wood-fired pizza oven (I HIGHLY recommend the White Pizza) was outstanding. My only negative would be that the pool was a little small and seemed to have a lot of rules but a lot of the hotels in Positano don't even have a pool. I would highly recommend the Poseidon for the value, service and beautiful view!! Daniella who works there was a wonderful hostess and was so friendly to speak with each day. LOVED IT! Mehr

Extremely satisfied, great food, service/people all the best. The only drawback is transportation to Positano. Public bus service is very bad. You have to wait in a big line forever and finally you end up paying a taxi a lot of money for a one way trip. Of course the hotel has nothing to do about it. The place is like heaven. Our stay at the Poseidon Hotel was a highlight on our recent travels through Italy. It is simply a gem of a hotel on the beyond beautiful Mediterranean coastline. Hotel is a 10 minute stroll to the town centre, and close to several decent restaurants, It's own restaurant is worth trying.The terrace where the excellent buffet breakfast is served has wonderful views of the sea and the town. Service from the friendly staff is good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Poseidon hotel provided a great combination of friendly service, clean and comfortable room, nice breakfast, and great location from which to base our Amalfi Coast holiday. The hotel is located about mid-way up the West hillside for equally easy access to the beach and the trails up above. I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.
