Als Vorübernachtung für eine Kreuzfahrt völlig o.K. zumal das Hotel den kostenlosen Busshuttle stellt. Falls man zu Fuß Richtung Las Olaz Blv. geht, sollte man schon darauf achten, wer in der Umgebung rumläuft ( im Dunkeln besser mit dem Taxi fahren), da einige Obdachlose rumhängen.Aber das ist ja in Deutschland auch nicht anders. Frühstück für amerikanische Verhältnisse o. K.

Stilgemäßes Art-Deco-Hotel für einen Aufenthalt mitten drin in Miami Beach. Sehr schönes Ambiente in der Lobby. Zwar ist das Personal viel Kommen und Gehen von Gästen gewöhnt, trotzdem noch positive, freundliche Routine.

In dieser Preiskategorie sicher eines der besten Hotels. Saubere und moderne Zimmer. Gutes Frühstück, sehr nettes Personal. Einzig negativ ist die Poolanlage. Mobiliar verbraucht und lädt nicht zum planschen ein. Pool ist auch sehr klein. Habe keine Gäste gesehen die sich dort aufgehalten haben. Aber ansonst sehr zu empfehlen da in kurzer entfernung(3min. Fußweg) Supermärkte, Restaurants und andere Geschäfte vorhanden. Von 6 Hotels in dieser Preisklasse die wir in Florida besuchtt haben, eindeutig das beste Hotel.

Hervorragende Lage ein Block vom Ocean Drive und dem wunderbaren Strand entfernt. Äußerst freundlicher Service. Die Standardzimmer sind klein aber sehr zweckmäßig und nett im Art Deco Stil eingerichtet. Das Hotel verfügt über einen Pool auf der Dachterrasse. Es werden kostenlos Liegen und Handtücher am Strand zur Verfügung gestellt. Sehr zu empfehlen für Gäste die direkt in der Nähe des Art Deco Viertels übernachten möchten.

Gute Lage, fairer Preis, Parkhaus um die Ecke...nicht grad günstig..aber mit den Hotelcoupon-Heftchen vor Ort (Dennys Restaurant) fährt man im allgemeinen besser...

"Gut und günstig für einen kurzen Aufenthalt"
Nettes Hotel, das sich aber etwas Abseits der Amüsiermeile (Historic District) befindet; dafür findet man hier eher mal einen Parkplatz vor der Tür. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, aber von der Einrichtung her ein wenig in die Jahre gekommenen. Für einen Zwischenstopp ist das Hotel bestens geeignet, für einen längeren Aufenthalt würden wir jedoch ein Hotel […] mit Pool und näher an SoBe gelegen empfehlen. Mehr
"Ordentliches Hotel in guter Lage"
Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis des Hotels ist völlig ok. Die Zimmer waren sauber und ordentlich, wurden täglich gereinigt. Zimmergröße und Größe des Bettes für 2 Personen im Queensize völlig ausreichend. Das Personal an der Rezeption war freundlich und hat unsere Fragen auch immer zufriedenstellend beantwortet. Es gibt kein Frühstück, ein paar Häuser […] weiter ist aber ein Laden, in dem man Backwaren bekommt. Und im Hotel ist ein Subway, wo man morgens auch Kaffee trinken kann. Die Zimmer sind mit Kühlschrank ausgestattet, man kann also auch im Supermarkt selbst Frühstück einkaufen. Der super schöne Strand ist nur 2 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Wenn man zum South Beach möchte, kann man diesen bei einem Spaziergang am Strand in ca. 45-60 Minuten erreichen. Mit dem Auto 10 Minuten und es fahren auch alle paar Minuten Busse. Taxi ist auch recht günstig. Für uns war es ein super Urlaub, man hat eine ruhige Lage und kann die zentralen Stellen aber in kürzester Zeit und auf verschiedenen Wegen erreichen. Wer ein nettes Hotel zum erholsamen Schlafen und mit guter Strandlage sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Mehr

Das Hotel ist zentral gelegen, Strand nicht weit entfernt. Die Klimaanlage war sehr laut, sodass wir die 2.Nacht ein anderes Zimmer bekommen haben, aber dort war es nicht besser. Für ein / zwei Nächte ok.

"Gute Lage neben dem Rental Return"
Das Hotel war sehr sauber in guter Lage. Leider gibt es keine Parkplätze und von 8-18 Uhr muss kostenpflichtig ein Parkplatz in der Umgebung gesucht werden. Zu Beginn war das Personal leider recht plumb und hat nicht zufriedenstellend auf eine kleine Reklamation reagiert. Erst, als der Manager verlangt wurde, ging es dann urplötzlich und unkompliziert. […] Schade, dass es nicht von Anfang an so viel Hilfsbereitschaft gab. Meine im Safe vergesse Uhr habe ich jedoch selbst nach einer Woche Kreuzfahrt noch zurückbekommen. Sehr löblich! Mehr
"Durchaus ok!"
Für den Preis kann ich mich echt nicht beklagen. Das Zimmer war ruhig, leider keine zauberhafte Aussicht, aber sauberes Bad, TV und HiFi im Zimmer, Kühlschrank und Föhn. Alles super. Leider war der Aufzug kaputt. Das Personal war äußerst freundlich und es gab auch einen PC mit Internet, der für Gäste kostenlos war. Strandnah.

Das Ocean Spray ist ein recht kleines Hotel im Art Deco-Stil, jedoch leider etwas vom Art Deco-Viertel entfernt. Zum Strand gelangt man in wenigen Sekunden, nach South Beach muss man schon 45min Fussmarsch einplanen (es gibt allerdings auch Busverbindungen für 2 $). Das Hotel selbst bietet neben einem Zimmer nur recht wenig. Man findet in der Lobby […] einen PC mit kostenlosem Internetzugang, eine kleine gratis kaffee-Bar und ein recht teures Subway. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und gibt gern Tipps zu Ausflügen und öffentlichen Verkehrmitteln der Umgebung. Das Zimmer ist für 3 Sterne OK, aber einige Abstriche müssen gemacht werden... es ist sehr hellhörig, unter den Türen sind tw. sehr große Spalten, das Bett quitscht... Aber es gibt auch eine Kaffeemaschine, einen CD-Player und einen TV (AC ebenfalls, ohne die hält man es nicht aus...). Alles in allem ein nettes Hotel für flexible Leute, die auch mal etwas unternehmen wollen und ein schmales Reisebudget haben. Mehr
Die Preis/Leistung ist OK für Miami Beach, man bekommt ein anständiges Zimmer (ausser wenn HighSaison ist ! WMC und/oder SpringBreak dann explodieren die Preise) Man befindet sich in einem ältern 2-3* Hotel (nach USA-Standart) halt nicht wie in Europa oder gar in Asien. (dort gibt es mehr für's Geld) Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. TOP […] ist ! dass man per Bus an den Flughafen kommt innert 20-30 Min (mit der Linie 150, Haltestelle 100m entfernt ) für gerade mal 2-3 Dollar und keinen Taxi nehmen "muss" für 35-50 Dollar pro Weg. im grossen und ganz war ich zufrieden, habe ja auch keine ***** gebucht, nur zum schalfen und duschen ;-) brauchte ich nicht mehr. in der nähe des hotels findet man so gut wie keine geschäfte und lokale; strand ist aber nur eine querstrasse entfernt. hotel selbst entspricht der kategorie, nichts besonderes aber für den preis völlig in ordnung!

"Ocean Spray - Miami Beach - Not so good"
Room was really dirty - ha to wear scandals when I got out of bed to go to the bathroom. Bathroom had mechanical issues like the toilet not easily flushing and sink pipes leaking and dripping on the floor. Could easily hear people in the hallways. Air conditioning did not work well - ran really loud all night and room never really cooled down. No parking! […] Had to find street parking when we arrived after 10pm at night and then get up early to feed the meter. Best thing about it - right across the street from beautiful Miami Beach...but that is about it! Mehr
Very nice staff - from front desk, to subway, to housekeeping! The subway smell can get to you. Nice and quiet location, but a little bit further away from South Beach than I would have liked. 45 min walk down there. Street parking wasn't too bad to find. Beach across the street.
"Subway Hotel"
If u go to Miami stay at a nice place i thought this location was worth it but that was not the case. I called it the subway hotel because the whole place smelled like subway. The elevator is slower than walking the stairs and the last day people got stuck in the elevator and fire department pulled them out.

In general the accommodations were what I expected. One issue was that the A/C unite dripped water on the rug which made a suggy area that one would need to cross over when going to the closet area.

All the carpets in the hotel, including the ones in the romm, were extremely dirty. The walls were so thin that you could here everything. The doors closed so hard that all the room shaked every time someone arrived or left. hotel lobby reeeeeks from the subway that's in the lobby. the lobby itself is tiny; i wouldn't even call it a lobby. rooms are small, but beds were comfortable and it was very clean. staff were all really sweet and accomodating. this hotel is really nothing fancy at all. it's just plain and simply a place to sleep and nothing more than that.

The price was right and the location close to the Fontaine Bleu and Eden Roc was good, but the hotel was shabby, the restaurant in the lobby is a Subway, the maid service was always late and incomplete and the front desk staff was unaccomodating. All of the above is tolerable for the price, but what was the most difficult was the lack of flexibility […] when I needed to check out a day early. Zero accomodation for the paying guest. Unfortunate location of a Subway outlet in the entrance foyer is not the best first impression one gets of the hotel. Not many restaurants in the area other than hotels. Parking can be a problem on local streets. Staff polite and obliging.

The lady on phone booking was rushing a lot as if it was the last best thing to happen. I was told about the water front room reservation and there was no intimation to the hotel, They were surprised when I asked them and I was dumped in a shady room. I was told about the high quality of the room and given a different picture of the image, It was nothing […] more than an ordinary motel. Landed up moving out after first night to another hotel for four nights and lost money for stay at Ocean spray and did not even get refund from them. Mehr

"Good Enough"
This is a great place to see Miami for a reasonable price. It's about 2 miles from South Beach, either a short cab ride or a beautiful walk. The hotel is clean. There is nothing luxury about it, but you can be on the beach in 2 minutes. The only problem is the lobby smells like Subway. Get a room on the top floor.

"Great Bargain for Miami"
Hotel was older and funky, but because our room was very clean and free of mold, I had no problem staying there. The mattress was very lumpy and my husband and I were sure that we'd have a miserable nights sleep but we were surprise and had a comfortable night. The only things we didn't care for: the smell of the Subway restaurant that's in the lobby […] is uninviting and the hallway to our room on the second floor was freezing! We've stayed in S Miami Beach many times before and didn't mind trying someplace different and further away. The beach is just across the street. Great boardwalk. Walked along until we reached the Four Points Hotel (about 1 block away) and had a nice buffet breakfast there. If you arrive before 5 pm you'll find metered parking on the same block as the hotel, which costs the same as the Parking Garage if it's overnight. Staff was friendly. We felt safe in this area. If you're looking for luxury, I wouldn't recommend the OceanSpray. If you're looking for basic comfort and a place to sleep and shower at a bargain price, this may suit you just fine. Mehr

"Great Value in Mid-Beach area"
Okay, if you're the type that wants the best of everything and a large, spacious room, look elsewhere. But if you appreciate good value, a building with character and history, and a friendly staff (Becky and Mark really stood out in making me feel welcome), then put Ocean Spray on your list. Yes, the rooms are on the smallish size by today's standards. […] But I found my room to be entirely adequate for my needs, and my room at Ocean Spray included some items I very much appreciate that are actually not included in some nearby, very expensive, luxury hotels that cost 2-3 times as much: in-room coffee maker, ironing board and iron, tons of drawer space, refridgerator, etc. Other reviewers have complained about the smell of the Subway restaurant just off the main lobby. But I don't find that odour offensive and the prices, while slightly higher than other Subways, are VERY much a bargain for Miami Beach. I also appreciate some things that may not show up on most people's lists: a clean, nicely painted, well-lit stairwell which I made regular use of to stay in shape (and I was on the 7th floor). I also got lucky with a room which looked over the Miami skyline and provided some beautiful sunset views. There is no parking, but forget the rental car and arrive by MiamiDade Transit's Airport Flyer (Bus #150), which costs only $2.35 (have correct change, as the machine on the bus doesn't dispense change and you may not find the ticket machine handy in the airport bus centre). The bus stops a short block & a half away and returns to the airport from an equally close stop at Collins & 43rd. The trip only takes about 20 minutes and is another bargain. If I were rating Ocean Spray on value alone, I'd give it 5 stars. But using the traditional hotel-rating standards, it rates a solid 3. So come enjoy this character building and friendly staff and save your money! Mehr

"Ocean Spray Hotel in Miami Beach"
Parking was terrible, they have no garage or parking lot. We drove around and around and with our patience and waiting we were able to get parking within a few steps from the hotel. We specifically chose an "ocean view". When we opened the room curtains all we saw was a palm tree and the very large buildings across the street that were blocking the […] ocean view. The staff was very friendly, the hotel art deco was cute. The best part was there was a Subway right in the hotel lobby! Mehr
"Ocean Spray Hotel - great for the price"
This is the lowest cost hotel we could find along this Miami Beach strip, so we weren't expecting luxury. The room was very small and the building has some wear and tear. But in general, it was just fine. The hot water was hot, cold water cold, the TV and AC worked and the room was clean. The staff was very nice and even folded one my shirts while cleaning […] one day. What more could we ask for? The Subway in the front lobby was convenient for low cost healthy fast food. My only beef - the mattress was too firm for my wife, but any hotel anywhere could have this problem. Mehr

"Miami Beach"
I really enjoyed my 3 night stay at the Ocean Spray. The room was updated and comfortable, modern style. The Subway adjacent to the lobby was convenient for a quick bite. Good value for the price I paid. The location was excellent, close to the boardwalk, the airport express bus and walking distance from many interesting places.

"The staff is the real strength of this hotel"
The staff worked hard to overcome the inevitable obstacles that always seem to arise. Everyone from the room cleaners, the maintenance, and the front desk people were responsive to my needs and definitely enhanced my 8 day stay.
"Feeling are questionable"
service staff were nice. hotel lobby and elevator smelled like subway because in fact there is a subway in the lobby. beding and chair in my were ripped, and there was a lot of constructions going on outside (banging, drilling, etc.) Luckily I was only there for 2 days, or else i think i would have got crazy. good thing is room was big and its within […] walking dictance of fountaine bleau and eden roc.
