Clarion Suites Central - Madison - Madison

Very nice hotel, we were there for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert, able to walk from hotel to Alliant Energy Center. Employees were very nice and personable. A little pricey but it was worth the convenience. Will definitely stay again.

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. Staff were friendly. Rooms were spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. The pool was being repaired and was not open the evening we were there, but we were not intending to use the pool anyway. The location is perfect if you're there for an event at the Alliant Center, which we were. Full, hot and well stocked […] breakfast buffet with delicious selections. The only drawback is the lack of eating establishments within walking distance, or even within sight. Would definitely go back again! Mehr

A great business stay at this hotel, nightly Happy Hour with homemade soup along with great breakfasts.

Each day they would leave me more towels than the day before and did something special each day i returned to my room...I never saw the cleaning people clean my room...but I hope the right people got the tip.. I did see the supervisor on the last day. PLEASE IMPROVE THE WAY IN WHICH THOSE DESERVING A TIP GETS THE TIP,thank you val

I stayed the night before a meeting at the Alliant Center. It is directly connected which was nice because it was raining. Everything went quite well, check in, breakfast, and check out. Staff were helpful.

The breakfast was "just okay". Not great.

The hotel, facilities, staff were all very nice. However the shocker was when we found only a queen size bed in the room instead of the usual king. The nightstands were still in the 'king' position which made a large gap between them and the bed so it was obvious the old king was swapped with a queen. After a few calls to the desk we were told there […] were no king beds in the whole hotel and they had all been swapped with queens. Not a huge deal but if I had realized, I would have gone elsewhere. Mehr

Would not stay at this hotel again. The couch in our room had several stains on it so did not sit on it. The carpet had a hole in it. The bottom of the tub did not look clean. Overall the surroundings were older and need to be updated. However, the bed was very comfortable. I do not think this hotel should be rated as a 3 star.

I'll be back. No complaints.

Had a very nice experience over the weekend. Everyone was sold out and I went with Clarion having no experience with the company. Overall very pleased with both the room and the service from the front desk. Helped me with maps of the area and suggestions. Would stay again in these all suite hotels for sure, huge rooms and great beds/pillows.

Very nice hotel with a good location. We found our stay comfortable.

The room was nice and spacious, with a sofa for TV viewing, and a small kitchen bar with a usable fridge. We really appreciated the convenience of the heated walkway connecting the hotel to the expo center, as we were able to come and go in shirt sleeves carrying tropical plants in the middle of February. The complementary breakfast served was a pretty […] ordinary serve-yourself affair, and offered the usual not-fresh-baked muffins, fruit, scrambled eggs, bake-your-own-waffles, cereals, milk, juice, plus a dish from the chef, but when you're rushing off to set up an exhibit, it's just fine. The staff was all very friendly and welcoming. Definitely would stay again next time we go to the expo center. Mehr

We arrived early and our room was ready for us!! Chris, at the check-in desk, was VERY friendly and gave easy to follow directions to our destinations. Breakfast was nice, I would like to advise travelers to not wait until the last minute to eat. Prompt breakfast take-down. We pulled in around 6:55 pm and were warmly greeted with staff. They kept the happy hour open a bit longer for us which was wonderful! This night it was wine/beverage and cheeses and crackers. Wonderful selection. The workout area was nice, although there were no "wet one's" or the like to wash off handles of the machines... it was a large workout […] area. The pool area was also clean and inviting. The rooms were large and very welcoming and comfortable. We would highly recommend this location. Although there is no shopping within walking distance, it's all within 10 minutes. This hotel is also connected to the Alliant Center. We didn't need to walk outside at all. This location is very clean and easy to find staff was very helpfull. Full complimatary breakfast is awesome. Afternoon lounge party with wine cookies etc is a very nice opportunity that you dont get in other places. The only disadvantage for us was there is not alot to see close by if you were wanting to walk. Bus stop is convient and they also offer […] shuttle to airport. Nice hotel, but shuttle service was nonexistant, even after talking to the front dest, they neglected to stand up to there word on the phone & advertised shuttle ride...i recommend a different hotel

The Hotel was very nice and very clean. The staff was friendly and courtious. The breakfeast was good also. I would stay there again for sure.

The hotel was very easy to find. Very clean and friendly staff, the keycards did not work, but that happens occasionly. The complimentary drinks were a surprise as well as the cookies. Rooms were quiet with very comfortable beds. Shower head was lose but did not affect its performance.

Very comfortable up-to-date rooms, with great perks such as microwave and fridge. Wireless internet was reasonably fast. Great staff. The welcoming reception was a nice surprise, and the breakfast was the best we've ever had at a hotel. Good highway access, but far enough away from the campus and other hubub to be restful. Very nice, spacious room - clean and comfortable. great breakfast. would definitely stay here again. My husband is a runner and he enjoyed the easy access to bike paths around the lake and out to a conservation area. He saw cranes, deer, turkeys, rabbits, blue heron, and lots of other birds. Mosquitos were bad in early August so either run in the morning […] or run faster than the mosquitos in the evening. Mehr

I am always skeptical staying at hotels that allow pets. We brought our 40 lb. cattle dog with us on our trip to Madison. Not only was the staff incredibly friendly to us, but they were actually happy to see our dog. The rooms were very clean, modern, and comfortable. They offer a happy hour with free drinks (which we didn't take advantage of) and a […] continental breakfast (which was... well, a little lacking, but not bad considering what you usually get). The surrounding neighborhood is nothing to look at, with no real amenities close, but it's a 5-10 minute drive to the downtown area and Capitol. There is a nice trail to run on that will take you along the water. Really a pleasant stay, and I'd recommend it again! Mehr

We have stayed at the Clarion Suites before and were always very satified. We had our daughter with us so the hotel clerk put us in a room with a new sofa sleeper which was nice. Hotel staff was very pleasant. Breakfast buffet was very good.Only complaint would be the extra blanket in the room for the sofa sleeper was dirty but the room was very clean […] and comfortable. Didn't have time to use the pool. Will stay here again! Mehr

Our stay was just one night but the room we had was very comfortable and clean. There was a small fridge for our water and juices, a microwave and a cofee maker. The staff were so polite and friendly! The hotel offered a free, FREE! Wine and beer Happy Hour every day! We certainly took advantage, along with most of the other guests!After a long day […] of walking around Madison it was nice to come "Home" to The Clarion and have a couple of drinks before dinner.The only negative? No restaurant close by.We ordered in, using the ad on the room key and the food was awful! Our mistake! Mehr

This was the ideal place for me to stay for my extended weekend in Madison. It provided everything I needed (a workout facility, a pool, whirlpool, ample parking, great breakfast....) and was central to everything I wanted to see over the weekend. The staff was great! I will definitely stay there again.
