Crown Moran Hotel - London

In die City benötigt man mit Bus (direkt vor dem Hotel) und Bahn (Station Kilburn, alles Zone 2) ca. 20 min - ohne große Wartezeiten. Das Hotel ist sehr sauber und gepflegt, gehobene Klasse, Frühstück (ausser den Würstchen) sehr lecker und reichhaltig, Zimmer geräumig, Betten sehr bequem. Das Personal ist freundlich und "Ramona" spricht einwandfrei […] deutsch. Obwohl wir sehr zufrieden waren, würde ich in Zukunft eher ein ähnliches Hotel oder Pension in Paddington buchen. Einziger Nachteil: Wir reisten zu fünft, waren vier Personen mit dem selben Familiennamen, hatten aber zwei völlig getrennt liegende Zimmer!!! Mehr

etwas abseits des Zentrums, aber gut zu erreichen (20 Minuten mit Metro bis Westminister), toller Service und schöner Pub

Wir sind mehrmals im Jahr in London und kehren immer wieder gerne in das Crown Moran Hotel zurück.

Hotel liegt noch in Zone 2 und so kann man außerhalb der Stoßzeiten für wenig Geld in die Stadt fahren. Bahnhaltestelle ist einen Kilometer entfernt, aber für diejenigen, die möchten, gibt es eine Bushaltestelle direkt vor dem Hotel, von der der Bus alle paar Minuten abfährt. Frühstück war in Ordnung. Für englische Verhältnisse ein überraschen gutes Hotel. Zimmer waren sauber, die Handtücher wurden regelmäßig gewechselt und auch die verbrauchte Kosmetika immer gleich ausgewechselt. Es ist durchaus sehr gut. Das Frühstück war sehr ausgewogen für englisches Verhältnisse und alle Zutaten waren frisch. Das Servicepersonal war nicht immer unbedingt freundlich, […] aber wenigstens bemüht. Zwei Damen waren unhöfflich und verweigerten uns am Wochenende uns Kakao für die Kinder zu bringen (mußte in der Küche zubereitet werden), aber eine weitere Kellnerin erbarmte sich dann doch.Sie war sichtlich überrascht, als sie ein Trinkgeld von uns bekam. Am nächsten Tag brachte sie uns dann sofort ohne Aufforderung den Kakao für die Kinder. Sie war sehr bemüht. Die Verkehrsanbindung ist wirklich sehr gut, in 10 min an der U-Bahn und in ca 45 min an der Bahn Victoria. Umgebung ist ansonsten nicht wirklich berrauschend, aber alles von MC Donalds, Burger King, Superbäckerrei, Supermarkt,Bank, etc in unmittelbarer Umgebung. Der Pub ist auch ganz nett. Der Pool ist toll und nach den langen "Spaziergängen" durch London eine tolle Erholung. Mehr

Das Hotel liegt nördlich vom Stadtzentrum und ist via U-Bahn (Jubilee Line) und anschließender kurzer Busfahrt (10 Minuten) gut zu erreichen. Bei der Anreise sind wir von Paddington Station mit dem Taxi gefahren, das hat ungefaähr 20 Minuten gedauert. Für Londoner Verhältnisse ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, gutes Restaurant, hier sind die Preise […] sogar sehr gut (ca. 9-15 € für ein Hauptgerícht). Ungewöhnlich in London: Das Hotel hat auch einen kleinen Indoor-Pool, das war im heißen Juli echt nett. An das Hotel angeschlossen ist ein traditioneller Pub, auch hier kann man ganz gut essen, wir haben das Club Sandwich ausprobiert. Da wir während der Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft dort waren, ein guter Platz um die Spiele zu sehen. Die Umgebung des Hotels ist nicht so spannend, aber sehr typisch für die Randgebiete der Innenstadt. The Crown Moran IS the best hotel in London Bar none. Parking, excellent food, really friendly staff. Would highly recommend this hotel. Never stay anywhere else if i can help it.

The room was clean and nice, the staff was helpful and easily reachable. Breakfast was what you expect of a continental breakfast. Very beutiful common rooms and a very nice english-style pub/restaurant connected. The main drawback of the hotel was the location. It was a 10 minutes walk to the nearest tube which gets a bit tiring in the long run since […] you probably will use it a lot. There was connecting buses right outside though. Otherwise there was some noise from the roads by the hotel and the neighbournehood was london-suburb. In total the hotel was above normal London standards. You get what you pay for. Mehr

My wife and I stayed at the Crown Moran Hotel for two nights in april 2012. Overall the hotel is beautyful, and the rooms are very comfortable. The old part of the hotel now contains a pub and a restaurant. The addition to the hotel is constructed really tastefully and with a nice and airy glass lobby. We only ate at the pub, and that was a delicious […] meal at a good value. The surrounding area has a supermarket and a nice italian restaurant as well as a few fast food restaurants - all within 5 minutes walk. The only thing we can put a finger on is the distance to the nearest tube station. The hotel is only 3 or 4 stops from the city, but there is about a mile from the hotel to the nearest tube station. However, there is a cab company at the station, and the fair to the hotel is very reasonable. Enjoy your stay there, we did ;) Mehr

Went to Wembley during a weekend's stay at the Crown Moran and I'm so happy I chose here as the location was spot on. Few tube stops to the nightlife of Camden and Chalk Farm and a short (£15 avg) taxi fare to Wembley stadium. the hotel is great and would recommend the reason i chose this hotel was because it was half the price of most other decent hotels included a breakfast and had a pool.I figured no matter what i am going to need an underground ticket and it only costs £5 in a taxi from kilburn station so i saved a small fortune .the downside is its 25-30 minutes from […] hotel into centre london,the area is not that nice and travelling on the bus late at night can be intimidating if your not from London. but as far as the hotel its self goes its fantanstic staff are extreemly helpful and polite the breakfast is excellent and the pool great. WE ORDER A FULL SZ ROOM FOR US AND THE BABY, THERE WAS SOME ODOR OF CIGARETTE. THE HOTEL MOVE US TO OTHER ROOM. ITS A GREAT HOTEL VERY NICE BREAKFAST. SMALL POOL BUT NICE WISH THEY HAD A SAUNA ROOM.

As always had a fantastic stay at the Crown Moran the staff are so helpfull and the bar is always lively in general just a good buzz all round!

Located within 5 miles of Wembley City, this hotel provided excellent service in a unique building. The old Crown Pub, Cricklewood has been extended in a very modern way to bring a touch of nostalgia with the convenience of a quality hotel. Friendly staff and hearty food make this hotel one to return to.

The Crown Moran is a well-maintained hotel in a working class area of London. It is a little-far from Central London, but it was interesting to stay in a non-touristy section. The breakfast was excellent and there is a nice pub attached to the hotel. With the exception of the extremely rude man who checked us out, everyone was professional and courteous. […] I was shocked by his lack of professionalism, but everyone else was fantastic. Initially, we were placed in a room with a broken shower head on the 6th floor, but when we asked for a new room we were given one the following day. The two major problems with this hotel were noise and no heat in our room. There is a lot of street noise (which clearly isn't the Crown Moran's fault) and internal noise. One night during our stay, there was a wedding reception with lots of small children. Not a problem except the children were running up and down the hallway banging on doors. This wasn't at 5 or 6 or even 10 pm, but after midnight. It was ridiculous. We complained, but were politely told that there wasn't anything that could be done. It made sleep impossible and left me wishing (at least for that night) that I had booked elsewhere. I'm no delicate flower when it comes to noise--I'm from NYC for goodness sake--but it was really hard to take. I'd stay at the Crown Moran if you are looking for a nice place that won't destroy your budget. If you are looking for a restful night of sleep and a more centrally located hotel, you may want to consider another place. Mehr

This is the 4th time we have stayed at the Crown Cricklewood, and we have recommended it to several friends. All have been thoroughly satisfied. The breakfast is substantial and of very good quality. The hotel itself is excellent. The rooms are basically the size of a good room in a north american hotel, so quite large by european standards. Marble […] finished bathrooms. Transportation is simple - a quick 3 min bus ride from right outside the hotel entrance to the steps of the underground (Kilborn Station), and from there a simple 10 mins to Buckingham. The Crown Moran is a beautiful hotel with very comfortable rooms and beds. The hotel was farther from the tourist sights so required a little more travel time. We used the buses most of the time and the bus stop was very close. The closest tube station was about a 15 minute walk but minutes by bus. We found most of the staff to be extremely helpful and accommodating.The hotel has a car to transport you to the airport for a very reasonable fare and the driver was wonderful. The hotel has a lovely complimentary breakfast with a wide variety of foods and beverages. I would definitely recommend the Crown Moran to anyone! Mehr

A really good Hotel. Pity about the location.

This hotel was very nice as to the size and modernity of our room and bathroom, given the cost. It also has a pool, which unfortunately was closed when we visited due to some repairs, and a gym. The entrance hall was bright and pleasant, and the reception clerks welcoming. Several things, however, detracted from the hotel's initial attractiveness. One, […] it is located in a not very nice neighborhood (Cricklewood) and is rather far from the must-see sights of London. The nearest Tube station (Kilburn) is a long walk away. Getting there or continuing all the way to town by bus (which fortunately stops right in front of the hotel) is the best alternative or by taxi, e.g., to Marble Arch (which is rather expensive - about 28 pounds). Two, the hotel's restaurant is located in an adjoining old building which houses a well-known pub, the Crown, but unfortunately it is not appointed as attractively as the hotel itself. Breakfast is self-serve and traditional English. Dinner is served, but on tables without tablecloths. The food is very bland indeed and the service impossibly slow. The servers are not well informed about the make-up of the dishes on the menu and unfortunately not very fluent in the English language, but nevertheless very polite and trying their best. But the overall impression is disappointing. Three, accommodations for handicapped guests are lacking, e.g., ready access to the restaurant. Overall, this hotel was fair value for the money, but one should not expect much beyond a nice room. Mehr

My family and I recently stayed at the Crown Moran in London. The hotel was clean and comfortable , the staff was excellent, everyone was friendly and helpful. High marks for the fantastic breakfast and wifi accessibility. Unfortunately the pool was closed for renovations. The hotel itself is jsut a short walk from the trian station about 10 minutes. […] There is a bus that picks up in front of the hotel that can bring you all the way to the marble arch. I strongly suggest arranging transportation from london heathrow to the hotel via taxi or bus, we unfortunately thought the easiest way would be to take the train & tube- big mistake - on our return trip to the airport we hired a taxi, it was @ 35 pounds and well worth it. If you don't mind riding around on the Tube and taking a bus to get to the hotel, this hotel has many good qualities to recommend it.

Our stay was quite pleasant but for the treatment in the restaurant which was substandard and we were served cold food. When we complained to the restaurant manager he was both ignorant and condesending. We made a complaint to the hotel manager who was extremely professional, courteous and offered us a full refund of our meal, which we declined as one […] meal was fine and we do not like to take advantage of that kind of situation but we accepted lunch vouchers for the following day. The same restaurant manager was on duty and was very sarcastic throughout trying to prove a point or doesnt take kindly to criticism. Mehr

Came from N. Ireland with disabled man in wheelchair. Had given notice and asked for adjoining rooms. Arrived by tube to Kilburn. 5 busstops to hotel, not what you call convenient. Had to hold door and manoeuvre wheelchair through it at the same toime. Never saw concierge or staff other than girl behind counter. No adjoining rooms reserved but managed […] to get them. No disabled rooms or access for wheelchair. Nightmare trying to hold doors open and get wheelchair in - not a porter in sight. My friend is blind also. although it showed in the book radio 5 on tv it could not be found. Remote control not working and only 5 channels of 15 available. Manager could not help as remotes locked up and service guy away home!!! Had to do without. Breakfast was very good. Swimming pool closed eben though the web site showed an indoor pool available. Had a great few days stopping at this hotel athough a 5-10 min walk from any tube station but dont let that put you off as once you sus out the buses its not a problem here is a little help if traveling from Kings Cross Metropolaton Line to Finchley Road Cross the platform to the Jubilee Line for 2 stops to kilburn on leaving the stattion at kilburn […] turn right and go under the bridge just under the bridge you will find the closet bus stop note every bus that passes this stop will go past the crown, it seems the most frequent ar the 16 and the 316, board the bus to Cricklewood Broadway/ The Crown (the stop prior to this is Skardu Road) all the buses have an anouncement and LED screen like the tube letting you know where you are - on the way out the bus stop is right outside the hotel and depart at Kilburn Station again every bus that passes this stop also goes via the station hope this helps Mehr

Having booked the Crown Moran for an overnight stay close to where I was working, I was very pleasantly surprised with the hotel on my arrival. There is an underground car park, and the reception area is very well maintained and quite impressive looking. The pool was under maintenance, which was clearly advised prior to booking, with arrangements made […] to use a local health club (although I didn't). The gym was reasonably well equipped, although unsupervised. Food and choice of beer in the hotel bar was pretty good, and very well priced. The surrounding neighbourhood did not look especially appealling, so I did not venture far. There is no getting away fro the fact that the hotel is right on the A5, but despite that I slept extremely well, and enjoyed a very good English breakfast in the morning. The Crown Moran is in a decent part of the city far enough from the tourist traffic to allow you to sleep in peace but close enough to put you in the middle of it all within a few minutes. My only complaint was that the pool was closed due to refurbishment which I thought should have been disclosed online. We had a great stay at Crown Moran Hotel, although it is located a little bit out of the way, 20 min to Marble Arch by bus, we were really amazed by the rooms and staff. A pool and gym that you are actually able to use, nice breakfast and nice rooms at a great price, for us a rare experience while traveling to London. Next time we plan a trip to London […] we will book the Crown Moran Hotel again for sure. It was great to feel that you can spend some time in the room. I ahve stayed here 3 times before and they now seem to be squeeezing every last cent out of their guests, Parking is charged and was not before, there is no in room internet unless you want to pay $20. The breakfast used to be gret but now they have reduced it to one sausage and one slice of bacon, there also seems to be a shrtage fo staff behind the […] reception desks. Mehr

Hotel was very nice, gym and pool all of a good standard. Breakfast in the hotel was good quality and a nice atmosphere. Adjacent Crown hotel had great pub dinners. Access to hotel was easy via bus outside that seemed to run every 3 mins, then a few minutes to local train station on the underground.

First time in london short break with son&wife picked the crown moran after reading the reviews glad we did great hotel a great room no 657 the breakfast &service was excellent will be going back

Really nice hotel, nice location, buses let you just in front of the hotel, the underground station was about 5 minutes in bus!!! Rooms really clean and comfortable, we had a little problem with our showers and we were attended inmediatly by the personal of the hotel. Breakfast was good!! In overall a very good 4 star hotel!

....lived in the hood. Now I like the Crown because of the larger-than-usual pool, the expansive gym and the delicious breakfasts.

3 blocks from train that takes you a short ride to the tube station and then you can get to any place you want quick. The Capital Connect train from Gatwick will get you to the hotel.

Very good value for your money. Nice, spacious room (which is a luxury in London) and a really comfortable bed. Very friendly staff. Only problem was the plumbing, which worked slightly oddly. One day there was only hot water (also in the cold faucet) and the other days the cold water had to run for a long time before being cold enough to not burn […] your hands. The tube station is 10 min walk from the hotel, but there is a direct and very frequent bus #6 just outside the hotel to Victoria Station. This is convenient for guests arriving from Gatwick Airport. Stayed for 1 night 2 adults plus child aged 9, hotel in good location for going into London. But was very dissapointed when going into there pub for dinner that night and told no children after 6pm. So we ate our meal in the foyer balanced on our laps not ideal. If you are going to market yourself as family friendly then that is not on.
