Das Hotel war super, nur ein paar Stationen bis zur Oxford Circus und dem erstaunlichen Westfield Shopping Center auf der anderen Straßenseite. Große Zimmer mit hervorragender Ausstattung, vor allem sehr ruhig. Das Personal war unglaublich hilfsbereit. Das Hotel hat alles, was man für einen City-Trip nach London braucht. Frühstück nahmen wir nicht in Anspruch, dafür gab es alles nah in der Umgebung. Für Selbstversorger bestens geeignet.

Canary Wharf, Londons Geschäftsviertel des 21. Jahrhunderts, liegt direkt an der Themse und ist bekannt für seine innovative Architektur, darunter der fünfzigstöckige Wolkenkratzer in Form eines Obelisken mit der Adresse One Canada Square. Gäste erreichen Canary Wharf mit der Docklands Light Railway. Bei der Fahrt mit dieser computergesteuerten Stadtbahn bietet sich Fahrgästen ein herrlicher Ausblick auf eine Welt aus Glas und Stahl. Im historischen Greenwich am gegenüberliegenden Ufer der Themse befindet sich das National Maritime Museum. Beide Stadtteile sind durch einen Fußgängertunnel miteinander verbunden.

Insgesamt war ich mit dem Hotel wirklich zufrieden, auch wenn man sich von einem IBIS-Hotel natürlich nicht allzu viel erwarten sollte. Für einen Wochenend-Trip ist das Hotel absolut zu empfehlen. Die Lage ist - obwohl das Hotel relativ weit außerhalb liegt - gut zum Sightseeing. Mit der DLR braucht man 15 Minuten bis zum Tower mit der U-Bahn sind […] es knapp 30 Minuten. Das Frühstück im Hotel ist sehr gut und mit 7,50 GBP auch sicher nicht überteuert. Mehr

"Das Hotel liegt sehr nah an der O2 Arena"
Das Hotelpersonal ist sehr freundlich, lediglich die Überbuchung für die erste Nacht war nicht so schön, obwohl wir gleich im Hotel neben an einquartiert wurden, ist es doch ein Aufwand, den man im Urlaub nicht möchte. Vor allem wenn man wie wir in der Nacht um ca. 1.00 Uhr ankommt! :-)
"Das Ibis Excel hat meinen Erwartungen voll"
entsprochen und liegt ruhig beim neuen Excel Messezentrum. Das Preis - Leistungsverhältnis stimmt . Das Zentrum von London ist mit öffentlichen Nahverkehr in ca. 30min zu errreichen. In der näheren Umgebung des Hotel gibt es ein paar Restaurants und Supermärke die eigentlich ganz gut sind.
"Alles ist möglich"
-Der Hotelservice beim Empfang ist zuvorkommend freundlich und kompetent. -Leider wurde in unserer Anwesenheit renoviert, Staub, Farbanstrichdämpfe und Lärm waren nicht das, was wir uns vorgestellt haben. -Das Zimmer (233) lässt zwar 2-3 Übernachtungen zu, aber sonst ist es leider eine Zumutung, Begründung: -Fensterscheibe geborsten -im Zimmer riecht […] es nach Abwasserkanal und Farbdämpfen -Aus der Duschkabine läuft das Wasser in den Toilettenbereich -Unter dem sauberen Leintuch ist ein Molton der sich voller Haare und ekligen Flecken präsentiert!!! Dies ist in der Tat eine Bestandes-Momentaufnahme und keine Anklage. Die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft der Hotelmitarbeiter ermöglichten uns trotz allem einen relativ angenehmen Aufenthalt. Im Bezug auf den Umbau, da kann ich mit leben, dass kanns Mal geben, wäre vielleicht eine vorgängige Information angebracht gewesen. Im Bereich der Zimmersauberkeit muss aber zwingend gehandelt werden, dass ist nicht IBIS Standart!! Danke Hotels.com, das ich die Gelegenheit habe mich zum Hotelaufenthalt zu äussern. "Gut"
Dieses Hotel entspricht deutschen Vorstellungen. Relativ neu, sauber, hell und freundlich. Manko war nur , das das Zimmer erst nach Aufforderung gesaugt wurde und die Lage. In den Docklands ist halt doch etwas weiter draußen und man kam nur mit DLR hin. Ansonsten können wir jeden das Hotel empfehlen.Wer auf kleine, alte und erdrückende englische Hotelzimmer […] nicht steht, ist dort bestens aufgehoben. Hotel ist neu, sauber und per Metro gut zu erreichen, 5 min. vom Bahnhof. Verbindung Zentrul London innerhalb 30 min. (einmal umsteigen!) Zimmer mit Blick auf Docks und Themse ist interessant. Rezeption war staendig ueberlastet wegen Gaesten die Fragen hatten. Kleine Bar/Bistro neben der Rezeption sowie Restaurant im weiter angrenzenden Bereich mit […] guter Auswahl an Speisen. "Gutes Preis-/Leistungs-Verhältnis"
Das Hotel liegt in den Docklands von London. Für die von uns geplanten Unternehmungen ideal. Allerdings ein gutes Stück ausserhalb des Stadtzentrums. Das Hotelpersonal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend, das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis für London sehr gut.

Das Hotel ist ideal für Personen, die in der Nähe vom Flughafen London City bleiben möchten. Der Flughafen ist innerhalb 20 Minuten mit DLR erreichbar (einmal umsteigen, aber problemlos, keine Treppen). Es liegt wunderbar am Flussarm der Themse. Das Stadtzentrum ist gut erreichbar. "Ibis ExCel - Value for Money"
Very good location - easy to reach by car from the South and the Continent. Near DLR Station only 5 minutes by foot. Clean rooms, good staff, good breakfast buffet ( got various english newspapers ) Value for money !
"Ibis London Docklands - ExCeL - hat Mühe"
Unsere Erfahrungen (5-Nächte in diesem Hotel): -Die Betten sind zu weich - also alles andere als rückenfreundlich. -Unsere Abflüsse von Waschbecken und Dusche waren verstopft. -Mehrmalig herrschte Chaos beim Frühstück, das auf zu wenig Servicepersonal zurückzuführen war. Die Abfertigung ganzer Reisebusladungen (Schulklassen etc.) ist für die Individualreisenden […] nicht immer angenehm. -Die Rezeption war mit PraktiakntInnen durchsetzt (billig?), die allesamt schlechter Englisch sprachen als wir und mit denen die Kommunikation deshalb nicht immer einfach war. Dies bedingte lange Wartezeiten, bis endlich geschultes Personal die Anfragen zur Zufriedenheit behandelte. -Die Umgebung ist durchaus interessant (Victoria Dock). Alles in Allem hat man den Eindruck, dass für ein 3-Sterne Hotel der Service und Komfort besser sein könnten Mehr

Very reasonably priced hotel conveniently located within walking distance of Customs House DLR stop. The reception area seemed a little cramped but the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean.

Good hotel close to amenities. The room was comfortable but modest in proportions! Great area close to river, docks and O2. The breakfast was disappointing - no mushrooms, tomatoes etc were on offer. However for 1 night I would recommend.

Only complaint was the bed, it was rock hard and we both had a really uncomfortable, restless night and woke up with backache.

The hotel was clean and friendly with staff that were polite and nothing was every too much for them. It was close to the O2 and was easily accessible to Central London. Would recommend to anyone.

We had a lovely stay, the hotel was very accomodating seeing as we arrived at 2AM. The room was clean & tidy. There were extra pillows available and the bed was extremely comfortable with a duvet (not dredded bed sheets). It was very cosy. The bathroom was clean, the shower water was always hot and the towels were soft. The TV did not work but we did […] get a wakeup call as requested (if not 30 minutes late)! Food in the hotel was satisfactory but atleast it was hot and readily available without any long queue's. Don't expect anything special on the food front. The DLR line was less than 2 minutes walk away so access into the city was quick with no nonsense. The only disappointing experience was the fluency of the staff. English was not always their first kanguage and we had to repeat ourselve's a lot which was very frustrating. Checking out was simple and hassle free, we were not pushed out of our rooms by housekeeping and had plenty of time to relax on our last day. Mehr

We booked into the Ibis as we were seeing Olly Murs at the O2... We were booked in speedily, but unfortunately we were told we didn't need to book breakfast for the next morning... BUT WE DID NEED TOO... so the next morning we go to the restaurant and was asked... did you book? No we were told we didn't need too.... uh..well ya did! They said it was […] ok but we need to book in future... we told them to tell their staff to inform residents of this! Parking wasn't too bad, we had to park in a neighbouring hotel, and pay them on returning to the car. was slightly confusing though BASICALLY THIS A CLEAN HOTEL, AND GOOD ENOUGH FOR A SHORT WEEKEND,Great for the Excel, as right next door! more tea and coffee would have been nice.. but overall its was an OK hotel! "Ibis Hotel in Docklands, London"
The bar is advertised to be open 24 hours, but I was refused a soft drink at 10:00 in the morning as they were too busy with breakfast service. I had to go to local cafe for soft drink. When I returned, other clients were served coffee and other soft drinks at the bar!!!
Noise levels were very bad in the hotel, it was very difficult to sleep. This was a combination of thin walls and noisy guests.

"Lovely for the money!"
Nice hotel with convenient parking out of the congestion zone! Spacious rooms and good location within easy walking distance of the DLR. Will book again
"The London Ibis Excel - Surcharges!"
Good Clean Basic but watch out for £9.99 charge for wired internet per day - This makes this hotel more expensive than expected and if you need wi-fi for your phone also you will need to pay someone else for that I used Orange which was £19.99 for 30 days therefore extra costs for internet at this hotel for 3 days were almost £50...... more expensive […] than the room for one night also there is a £7 charge for breakfast. 5 mins walk to royal Victoria dlr station. Hotel was clean, staff were friendly, we asked for more tea and coffee when we ran out and they came back with plenty. Surrounding area is clean and looks modern. Great.

The so-called double room was rather small but very clean with a cosy feel. The mattress was firm and extremely comfortable for a very good night's sleep. The bathroom was very clean and well stocked with shower gel although I was surprised that toothpaste was not provided. The staff were friendly enough. The view from the only window was of the courtyard […] at the centre of the building shared with Novotel located next door. I did not get to sample the culinary delights as we dined in the O2, just a few stops away (DLR then Jubilee Line from Canning Town). All in all I would definitely recommend. Mehr
"Pretty Good, spolit by slow check-in"
not sure what the bloke in front was on, but most people have a reservation sorted before arriving. Finally, a second check-in opened, but still not quick. For a hotel next to an exhibition centre, it should know when peak check-in flows are going to be and man the desk accordingly. 20 minutes queue to check-in is not really right in this day and age. Apart […] from that, clean, tidy, quiet and very good shower. Location, is brilliant for ExCel, I don't recommend strolling too far in the evenings! Last minute rate was cheaper than Travelodge. Mehr

I use this Hotel every year mainly because the cost of the room is so reasonable. It also has a restaurant which is very pleasant and the staff are all very pleasant.

"Great for Excel - not so good for anything else"
Nice, clean basic hotel room - perfectly adequate for somewhere to sleep. Right next to Excel, but the trip into central London is a bit of a chore, especially when the tube drivers decide to go on strike. Staff helpful, room immaculate although not that big. Walls seemed fairly thin, but hotel was quiet overnight. Had option for combined premium TV/internet […] access that is much better value than many competitors. Mehr

Stayed here for 2 nights with my girlfriend in december, chose the hotel as it was only 3 stops away from the dlr station opposite the hotel to the o2.Getting into central london was only 20-30 minutes. The hotel itself was pretty much what we expected, nice basic hotel with everything you need.The bar and reception staff were very nice and helpful […] and when we came in from a late night to order some food from the 24/7 bar they told us they had nothing left but happily arranged some food from elsewhere for us. "Miles from anywhere"
The hotel itself was mostly fine, and the staff perfectly pleasant. The room was uninspiring and corporate as expected, but clean enough. No toiletries provided however, and staff were confused as to whether or not they should be. The main problem, however, is that this hotel is in the middle of absolutely nowhere. It takes a tube, then a DLR, then […] another DLR, and then a walk through a less than salubrious neighbourhood, before you get there. As the DLR stops running around midnight, this effectively prevents you from staying out beyond about 10pm in central London. It also means you waste a lot of time travelling to and from the hotel. For that reason, I would not recommend people stay here unless you're visiting the exhibition centre which is adjacent to the hotel, and which is clearly designed for. Mehr

Ideal for going to to a gig at the O2, went on Sat to see the Manic Street Preachers, gig finished at 11.oo and we were back in the hotel bar with tube and dlr changes by 11.20!, staff fine quick check in and check out..decent stop off and bed for the night
My experience in the Ibis London docklands wasn't a success because it was supposed to be a convenient place to stay for one night before an early flight from London city airport the next morning, but when I arrived at the hotel late, at 10pm, I noticed that there was no refrigerator in the room which was a problem because I had my next mornings breakfest […] with me. I then took a shower and after that noticed that the toilet didn't work, it didn't flush. I was so tired and didn't want to go all wet to the reception that I decided not to complain. Still next morning when I was leaving and said, when checking out, that I would take a taxi to the airport and asked where I could find the closest taxi, the receptionist said there's no taxi around at that time and didn't even bother to ask if he could call me a cab. I really didn't enjoy this stay at all. Mehr

"Bargain hotel!"
We got this hotel late after being let down by a previous booking. It cost us just £39, an absolute steal. Rooms are very new and pristine, small yes but so what? The Movie/Internet package is great value too. Only there briefly after a night at the O2 so I can't comment on the food but overall fantastic value...the only negative was the step up to […] the en-suite, there was no warning sign + I forgot + tripped hurting my foot! Friendly helpful staff made it a quick and efficient stay. Only downside is that after you have checked out you have to then queue up next door to pay for your parking
"Lovely hotel, good area, not too far out"
It took us about an hour to get to the hotel from London Paddington, which was better than we are expecting. The DLR line stops a five min walk from the hotel, and goes every 5 mins. The hotel itself was great, room was clean, and the reception staff were really helpful.
