Das Hotel hat die 4 Sterne voll verdient! Wir würden das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen. Das Frühstück ist vergleichbar mit jedem 4 Sterne Hotel in Deutschland. Die Zimmer sind sehr modern und entsprechen auch absolut dem Standard eines 4 Sterne Hotels in Deutschland.

Für unseren einwöchigen Venedigbesuch suchten wir einen idealen Ausgangspunkt und haben ihn im Hotel Ai Pini gefunden. Auf dem kleinen parkähnlichen Grundstück (etwas kleiner, als die Fotos vermuten lassen) konnten wir unser Fahrzeug die ganze Woche sicher abstellen. Ca. 15 m vor der Hotelzufahrt befindet sich eine Bushaltestelle und mit der Linie 7 kann man ohne Umsteigen direkt zum Busbahnhof in Venedig fahren, wo sich auch die Vaporettostationen befinden. Die Busfahrt dauert ca. eine halbe Stunde - der Bus ist je nach Tageszeit relativ voll. Vom Busbahnhof in Venedig kann man in ein Vaporetto umsteigen oder nach Überquerung der nächsten Brücke direkt die Gassen von Venedig erkunden. Im Hotel konnten wir auch die Kombikarten Hellovenezia für Bus und Vaporetto erstehen. Diese kostete für sieben Tage fünfzig Euro pro Person und hatte sich bereits nach dem zweiten Tag gerechnet. Das Personal im Ai Pini ist absolut freundlich und sehr hilfbereit - angefangen beim Empfang bis zum sehr guten Restaurant (empfehlenswert). Es ist jedoch ratsam, die etwas größeren Zimmer möglichst mit Blick auf den Park zu wählen - darin kann man sich aber sehr wohl fühlen (auch wenn es keine Zimmer mit Balkon gibt). Alles in allem als Ausgangspunkt für Venedigbesuche sehr geeignet.
Lage
Ca' Formenta liegt in Venedig, Castello, in der Nähe der folgenden Sehenswürdigkeiten: Museo Storico Navale, Markusdom und Squero di San Trovaso. Zu den weiteren Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe gehören: Markusturm und Basilika San Giovanni e Laterano.

Castello grenzt an die Stadtviertel San Marco und Rialto und erstreckt sich östlich bis zu einigen der ruhigsten und grünsten Stellen Venedigs, was diesen Stadtteil zu einem sehr vielfältigen "Sestiere" macht. Der bekannteste Ort hier ist das Ufer Riva degli Schiavoni neben der Seufzerbrücke, das einen malerischen Blick auf die Lagune bietet. Nur wenige Meter von den Touristenmagneten entfernt liegen die kleinen und ruhigen, typisch venezianischen Seitenstraßen. In diesem Teil der Stadt sind viele beeindruckende Kirchen und Kunstsammlungen zu bewundern.

"Ca`Formenta"
Um es vorweg zu nehmen: Es gibt hier keine Schwachpunkte. Durch die Nähe zu den Anlegestellen Arsenale und Giardini ist das Hotel gut zu erreichen. Etwa 10 Minuten Fußweg zum Markusplatz und trotzdem in einer relativ ruhigen Ecke gelegen. Zudem befinden sich in unmittelbarer Umgebung einige preisgünstige Restaurants. "Gute Entfernug zu Vaporetto und Venedigs Sehenswür"
In Ordnung, jedoch Badewanne mit leichtem Schimmel in den Ecken, wir haben sie lieber nicht benutzt. Frühstück war eher einfach aber wenn man nicht zu verwöhnt ist, ist es auch OK. Frühstücksraum relativ eng, es ging gerade so das Tische frei wurden wenn die nächsten Gäste kamen. WLAN nur in der Hotellobby. "Über zwei Brücken musst Du geh'n"
Das Hotel liegt nahe an der Lagune in einer schönen, lebendigen Strasse und ist einfach zu finden. Mein Zimmer ging auf den Innenhof und war sehr ruhig, dafür leider ohne Aussicht. Zimmer (wenn auch klein), Bett, Badezimmer und Frühstück waren total OK. Ungeschickt war, dass man von der Boots-Station Arsenale über zwei relativ hohe Brücken bis zum Hotel […] gehen muss, die keine Rampen haben. Mit Gepäck recht mühsam! Allerdings war das Hotel nicht grade günstig, d.h. für ein 3*-Hotel ziemlich teuer. Alles in allem aber empfehlenswert. Mehr

Das Hotel ist für einen Besuch der Biennale optimal gelegen. Es ist sehr sauber. Auch das Frühstücksbuffet kann sich für italienische Verhältnisse sehen lassen. Vorteilhaft ist auch die Lage etwas ausserhalb der grossen Touristenströme und doch in einem Quartier, in welchem es noch das eine oder andere Restaurant gibt. Sehr zum weiter empfehlen.

Vom Hotel aus sind sowohl die Giardini als auch das Arsenale innerhalb von wenigen Minuten zu erreichen, auch der Markusplatz ist nicht weit. We arrived by the public boat which was fine as the hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the boat stop. Hotel is in a great location as it's only a 10 minute pleasant walk along the shore to St Mark's Sq. That part of Venice is very busy so it was great to be out a bit, plus the restaurant all around our hotel were a lot more reasonable. Would thoroughly […] recommend it. Great stay at Ca' Formenta. We got the airport ferry service which took about an hour to get to Arsenale ferry stop - just a 2 min walk from the hotel. Location is great, being about 10 mins walk from Piazza San Marco, the heart of the city, but at the quieter end of the island. A number of restaurants are nearby. Frequent vaporetti services go from […] Arsenale up the Grand Canal to the station, to Lido and to Murano. Hotel staff were friendly, even though we arrived very late. Great hotel with wonderful customer service, very clean rooms, and good continental breakfast included. Wifi is only available in the lounge area, but it works very well and is free. We were given a room with a great view of the water, which we weren't expecting. The tables just outside the front door have a great view as well. This hotel is for people who enjoy a bit of a walk. It was 20 minutes from San Marco Square. But along the waterfront making it an enjoyable time. No close enough the go back and forth between sight seeing, with 3 or 4 canal crossings that mean many steps up and down. My wife and I stayed there for two days prior to boarding a cruise ship and had the time of our life. The staff was extremely helpful, especially Stephanie at the front desk. It is close to the vaporetto and many good cafes nearby.

The hotel was wonderful with only a couple of exceptions. Our AC rattled but not to the point of keeping me awake. The door to the bathroom didn't close well and the hair dryer was too hot to use. We were very pleased with the hotel. The staff was very friendly and informative. The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. The room was a nice size. Bigger than we expected in Venice. The only thing we weren't overly impressed with was the breakfast. Other than that this place was a home run!

Easily accessable to attractions either by walking or vaparetta. Located on the only wide street in Venice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room comforatable but a little on the small side for 3 people. Breakfast had a decent selection but missed having eggs in the morning. Breakfast was good - continental but with some meats and cheese. Their automated coffee machine was my favorite part of the meal. They also had cereals and croissants. Our room was on the first floor and close to the lobby so we had access to the wireless internet easily without leaving our room. Wireless is only good around the lobby and breakfast area. Room was spacious and clean enough but could be better. Bedding and towels were clean and replaced daily. There was a little mildew stuck in the grout around the bathtub however. Room and tile floors can get very cold in the winter even with the heater on all the time. Overall, we had a nice stay and would stay there again. Great value for what we were paying! Mehr

It's location is perfect for exploring Venice's main sites, but also well positioned to get away from the crowds and into the true Venetian streets. "The hotel Ca' Formenta in Venezia, GREAT staff!"
I recently had a 3 week long trip to Italy starting in Pisa and ending with the 4 night stay in Venezia at the Ca' Formenta. I was a little worried after coming from 10 days in the relaxing Cinque Terre to a bustling city like Venezia, but was more than pleasantly surprised with all of the aspects of the hotel, ease at finding it, location in comparison […] to the St Marco square, and most of all the staff! The gentleman helping me to check in was terrific! He made it simple and uncomplicated and helped with any and all questions I had about directions, recommendations, historical knowledge of the area, all of it! He had a perfect personality for public relations and you could tell immediately that he enjoyed his job and enjoyed people! That was not always the case in all of my travel prior to arriving in Venezia, as many will know what I'm talking about if you've travelled much. You sometimes are made to feel poorly or ignorant for asking questions that require some hotel staff to do their job. I can't say enough good about this hotel and staff! I even spoke to a couple over breakfast that had been returning to the same hotel the Ca' Formenta for over 5 years because they had always been so pleased with the staff and location. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone, and a big thank you to the staff for all of their help, especially Riccardo who always gave me a great laugh and smile on my face as I began my days adventures...! "OK HOTEL FOR THE PRICE, BUT NOT THE NICEST"
THE LOCATION WAS GOOD IN RESPECT TO IT BEEN CLOSE TO WATER BUS STOP. THE A/C DID NOT WORK PROPERLY 2 OUT OF THE 3 DAYS WE STAYED THERE. WE DEALT WITH 2 RECEPTION PEOPLE. RICCARDO WAS INITIALLY CHARMING BUT SOMETIMES HIS SENSE OF HUMOR BORDERED ON SARCASTIC AND THERE WAS A QUESTION AS TO HOW HARD HE WANTED TO WORK ON ACCOMODATING TO OUR NEEDS. MARCO […] WAS MUCH MORE APPROPRIATE AND HELPFUL. THE LADY HELPING WITH BREAKFAST SEEMED BOTHERED WITH CLIENTS' REQUESTS. This is a boutique hotel with personal service. Ricardo at the front desk was outstanding in suggesting sites to see and more importantly - Excellent restaurants. The hotel is "4 bridges" from the square. Just perfect. The rooms are good size for Europe. The bathroom was new and great hot water. The beds are very firm but comfortable. The curtains and […] carpet are just a tad bit dated, but who stays in the room anyway. Great price. The Continental breakfast was excellent. Cereal, croissants, yogurt, fruit, and coffee. "Only average hotel"
This hotel is not very convenient to the center of Venice. That is both a drawback and a plus. It is situated in a real Venetian neighborhood with lots of charm and a couple of good restaurants. The view from our hotel room was fabulous (we paid for the room with a view). However, it was too far to walk for my elderly mother, so we had to ride the vaporetto […] back and forth to the hotel. The room was very small and cramped. Also, it was the only place we stayed in Italy that was not spotlessly clean. There was some kind of feathery, dusty residue on the walls. My mother noticed it and when she wiped through it with a towel, it was more than 1/8 inch thick. Ick. The breakfast was lousy. They didn't even provide cold milk for the cereal. Altogether, not an impressive place to stay, and I wouldn't go back there. Mehr

The location is good-it is close to the arsenale vaparetto stop and you can easily walk to the san Marco square. From the airport there is a water ferry alilaguna that stops close by. Staff was friendly and the water is right across and it gets quiet in the evening and very beautiful.Water taxis are expensive in Venice-a day pass for vaparetto costs […] 14 euros and is a nice way to see Venice. Even Rialto was within walking distance. Breakfast in all the hotels in Italy was pretty much the same-cereals, pastry, croissants, yogurt etc-no fresh fruit. Mehr

A small, friendly, comfortable hotel in an excellent location beside the waterfront,- very near to Arsenale vaporetta stop, on the quieter side of the tourist areas but within easy walking distance of St Mark's and Grand Canal. We had a triple room which opened onto a small roof terrace (room 201) - this terrace is for all residents but no one else […] used it whilst we were there. Breakfasts were ample and with lots of choices of cereals, fruit, breads, meat and cheese, spreads, pastries etc.. "Close to the Grand Cannel"
We enjoyed the location. It was perfect for our desire to be close to the cannel, at the end of Venice but within a 10-15 minute walk to most everything we wanted to see.

"2nd time guest very dissappointed"
I had stayed at this hotel 5 years ago and was very satisfied with the overall quality. On this trip, however, my room had pink mold growing on the (blue) carpet and the staff rudely told me that "nothing could be done about it" as the hotel was fully booked. Also, the Internet did not work as advertised - I ended up having to go to an Internet cafe […] to get a decent connection. Mehr

Visiting Venice for the Biennale, we couldn't have asked for a better hotel. When it said waterfront, we assumed it would have a small view through some alley ways to the water but instead our room was directly on the lagoon, amazing! The Hotel Ca' Formenta opens up toward the entrance of the Grand Canal in Venice. We sat at a table in front eating breakfast and watching the waterway come alive with all sorts of vessels from water taxis to cruise ships. The staff was most helpful and friendly. When we arrived off our cruise ship, our room was ready and they allowed us to check in […] early. The neighborhood around the hotel is a real Venetian experience and not touristy.
