It took me a while to adjust to the 'Jamaican expperience'. For example, I've been carrying my own bags through hotel lobbies for years and was prepared to do the same. They wouldn't hear of it. I like that. I really liked the layout of the resort. It was big enough to have plenty to do, but small enough to actually get to where the fun was. I stayed at an all inclusive in Cancun and for a moment thought I was in Las Vegas. When it was time to hit the beach, by the time I got through all the 'spending oppurtunities' between my room and the beach, I forgot where I was going. One morning I timed it. 8 minutes after opening my room door, I was relaxing on the beach. A huge plus for me was the fact that it is adults only. In the week I was there, it was pur joy and not one chapter from the book of bad parenting. The favorite activity around the pool was reading. The food was good, but I've never been a fan of spicey food and I had to be a bit careful. C'mon guys. Spicey coleslaw? However, they more than made up for it with grilled lobster on Friday evening. What I was expecting and what I received were totally different things. The staff is friendly, but most have an air of what I perceived as arrogance. As if there is a preconceived opinion if why the guest are there, or that there may be a way to make money off them. At least four of that staff asked my wife or I whether we would like to pay them to […] go outside of the resort for personalized tours of the island. When were there in September, the resort was 70 percent empty, which made it seem like a ghost town. Additionally, on Sunday, a lot of things were closed. How does a resort close during a certain day ofthe week? The food is mediocre at best. I couldn't wait to get back to the states for a burger! When there was a party, it was only going on on the nude side and at the bar (as if the prudes don't go there). Like on guest told us, if you are going there to "hook up" or extensively partake in the water sports, it may be the resort for you. But if you want to be a voyuer and party with no expectation, save your money and go to a newer upscale resort that has a nude side. This club seems to ONLY cater to folks in the lifestyle. Mehr

This was our second trip to Hedo. This time we traveled with the Jamaican Waterslide Team, which is a fun group made up of about 80 people from all over that meets at Hedo once a year in September. The resort is fairly old and could use an […] update, but everything is kept clean and everyone that works there tries to make sure you are happy. Most everyone hangs out on the nude side, which has a nice pool and beach area. They have theme's every night where people dress in costumes. We had a blast dressing up every night in the theme costume. You can check their website for the theme nights. Most people dress up especially the women. It makes for a lot of fun. There are lots of groups that visit Hedo, check their website to make sure you go at the right time. This hotel was dreadful at best. Regardless of what you pay the rooms are all the same!!! The food is tolerable with only 2 specialty restaurants with a minimal top shelf selection. The energy and the happiness of the customers created a relaxing environment. However, we will never go again because of the accommodations. It's a 2 STAR selection!

To maximize your vacation at this resort you must book your stay when a larger group is also attending. When a group is not expected the entire resort seems dead and the quality of service, food, and energy from the event staff drops to zero, but the rooms remain clean. Spent four days at Hedo in late May 2012. It seems that the only reason to visit this resort would have to be the erotic atmosphere, which is everything people say it is. But, there are too many problems that are not getting the attention of management that could be fixed if someone would only do so. These problems add up and prevent willingness to […] return. Hot tubs (about all of them), treadmills (half of them), ice cream machine, frozen drink dispensing machine, etc. are all broken and seem to have been for a while. Lots of details are being ignored. Patios are covered in leaves for days at a time. Pools are filled with leaves too. Eventually these things are sometimes dealt with, but often they are not. We are out of (fill in the blank) was heard all too often. Food items, drink items, etc. Often, when you get a drink, it is undrinkable. No too are alike. You just throw it out and try again elsewhere. Again, staff don't seem to care too much about pleasing you. To sum it up, the property is worn out, management is not committed to repairing it, and staff seem to sense that they are on wounded or sinking ship, and are just putting up with having to work there. The adventure at Hedo was as we expected. Hotel rooms are showing its age but the entertainment and activities made up for it. This was our 2nd time @ Hedo and there has been some improvements. In regards with the food there were more choices. The 2 resturants were fantastic so they are a MUST when staying there to break up the buffets. The entertainment crew was not as much fun....Hedo 2 has lost a few good team members and it shows. We have been to H2 once before 5 years ago, we usually go to H3 but after the closing, decided to give H2 a try again. The structure/rooms of the hotel are 30years old and very basic. Aesthetically the resort does not have a "wow" factor at all, just seems run-down all around. The nicest part is the gym and spa. Entertainment: --If you are not willing […] to take off everything and hang out at the nude side, there is nothing else to do during the day here--unless you like the idea of hanging out at completely empty pools/beach (prude side) --Setup is terrible for socializing/meeting people at night. The dining room doubles as the theater for shows. The shows/music goes on FOREVER....from 7:30 to almost 11:00! During this time most everyone is sitting in their tables, some people hang around behind the stage to smoke, around the bar, but there are NO bar stools so its not very comfortable. FInally when the shows are over people head to the piano bar. By the time the disco gets going most guests are tired and go to bed or the hottub--so the disco isn't very fun anymore. There were also a lot of single guys hanging around the disco and hot tub late at night so it was creepy. Well, I understand everyone comes to hedo for the nude party atmosphere; but to sacrifice service, rooms, food, etc--just to party naked doesn't make sense to me. We had a really good time but I think it would have been more interesting if there were more people there. There are plenty of lounge chairs on the beach and the pool areas. We spent all of our time on the nude side, once you get over the initial shock it is no big deal. All of the guests were friendly and I think everyone was having a good time. The food was descent not great. There is a buffet that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast was really good, the lunch and dinner were descent. There are two specialty restaurants that you will have to make reservations. The Japanese one is good, but we preferred the Italian one. The entertainment staff worked really hard to make sure everyone was having a good time. 3rd time to this resort, great first 2 times but not this time. Room was hot, called the front desk 3 times and they checked it but was never fixed. Meal times start too late, left for a tour at 7:25 and had nothing to eat because they don't serve til 7:30. Food was fair at best. Gift shop selection was poor quality and overpriced. $25 for a bottle […] of sunscreen! They have a beach towel exchange to get a fresh one but doesn't open til 9:30 and closes at 4:30 so you carry a dirty towel around with you til they open. Did not go to the disco this time, walked through it twice in the early afternoon and it reeked of vomit and it appeared to have already been cleaned. All the employees were very nice and friendly so that was a plus. It is an older resort so don't expect perfection but just seems to be going downhill. Also not sure why the only selection for beds is 2 twins or 1 king, what ever happened to 2 queen size. After seeing other resorts in Ocho Rio and Montego Bay, won't be going back to Hedo. Mehr

Considering this was our first caribean vacation we were very nervous and excited about this resort. upon arriving and being greeted with a Mimosa all nervousness went away. staff was fantastic and very interactive to those who would interact back. a normal vacation will never be the same. we had a wonderful time and plan to return soon.

when I booked this trip, I read others reviews and thought we would give it a shot. When booking on expedia, it gave us an option between smoking and non-smoking rooms. We are smokers so of course chose a smoking room, only to find out when we get the resort, no such thing exists. Our bathroom flooded, although was given another room.
