The Shaftesbury Premier London Hyde Park - London

I would have continued staying there for a few more weeks as I am in london monday to friday but lack of baggage storage room and refusal of staff to keep my bags from friday to monday meant i found alternative accomodation.

Hotel was what I would have expected for the money at the time and in central London. Still somewhat under construction with hammering a lot during the day and smelling of new carpet. AC not working ( tho it's not usually in the 80's in April!!) and some weird electronic issue that wasn't resolved (a light wouldn't go off unless the entire room was […] off) Room on the small side but clean and compact. If you are "big" then the shower is too small for you. No fridge. No frills really. Internet in lobby worked well, they have a computer that guests can use if you don't bring yours. Safe not attached to the cabinet but working. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Location is close to two different tube lines, seems a safe area. Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park a few blocks, an easy walk. I'd probably stay there again if the price was right. Didn't try the restaurant at all as there were several closeby reasonable testuarants. Although I arrived late to the hotel, I did not got allocated with room and transfered to another hotel. It was very inconvenient not find the room ready.

The woman at the reception was rude , the hotel was very noisee and loud . I would not reccomend you to stay there , cheers .

Our check-in time wasn't until 2 pm and they cleaned a room just so we could check in at 8am. They also upgraded us at no additional charge! The staff was very friendly, prompt, and helpful. They fascilitated our stay and hope to come back to this hotel again!!!!

Very uncomfortable bed, in fact it was broken. Had to get hotel to fix heating and drain in bathroom before we even decided to stay, discovered the problem with the bed that night. Terrible TV reception, appeared to be only what was available by antenna hence we received one channel that was fuzzy. Walls are very thin and one could hear people talking […] quietly in adjacent rooms. Alarm went off twice the first night when we were jet-lagged and trying to sleep. Great location, just off the A40 so easy to get to from the north. Nice area of London, felt very safe. On arrival ther was a significant llanguage barrier between us and the reception staff. However after some confusing conversation we were upgraded to a suite. Excited at this news, we were then very disappointed at the condition of the room. Very […] run down and in need of a makeover (plus a dirty great stain in the middle of the lounge floor). The bed was huge and very comfortable but the bathroom was possibly the smallest i've ever seen. Moan over. Mehr

I would not give this hotel a one star rating. The hall was not hardly wide enough to get luggage down. Room was so small only one piece of luggage could be used at a time and the bed was no more than springs with a heavy blanket on it. Small bathroom! Shower was only twentyfour by twentyfour inches and no bathtub. It had lots of fire doors to go through […] getting to room, but looked like it might need them! Mehr

The hotel was ok, but its not a 4stars hotel, i would say more like a 2-3 star, its clean but the suronding areas are not nice,

Tiny room. Paper thin walls. Shabby decor. Will not be staying again.

Friendly courteous staff. However was disappointed overall with the hotel. While it was clean the room was very small the shower was tiny and the hotel was very much over priced for the facilities on offer. It was convenient for Paddington station but otherwise has little to recommend it. Didn't eat there so cannot comment on that aspect Unlikely I […] would use it again or recommend it to a friend. This was a pretty good hotel in a good location but they were over booked and had to move us to another location by Taxi. It was not as nice of a hotel but in a good location and easily to the Metro. Would stay again but we didnt get the room promised.

The walls are paper thin. The person in the room next to mine talked on the phone and I could hear every word. No complaints about the staff, just the facility. The hotel is a short walk from Paddington Station and Heathrow Express. It's convenient in that regard. But I can't recommend it because of the noise and lack of privacy.

This is a hotel that is close to Paddington station. It appears to have been recently refurbished with little sign of wear. It is quiet and clean. It does share the typical London hotel model of tiny rooms. The shower stall is probably limited to under 6'2" and 200 pounds. The room was tiny, but very clean and comfortable. The hotel is in an excellent location, only 3 blocks to Paddington Station and short walks to the edge of Notting Hill and great shopping in Mayfair. We were very pleased. Excellent value.

Good location, two blocks from Paddington Station,quiet neighborhood and nearby restaurants. Staff (Kenny) very helpful. Hotel restaurant I rate a 2 on the scale of 1-10 and if you need a taxi call your own unless you want luxury transportation from the company the hotel uses $$$$. Overall, I really enjoyed my hotel stay.

at least there you can expect a clean room with dry sheets and a hot shower as standard.In the shaftsbury it takes 3 separate rooms in under 24 hours. A delux suite in a 4star hotel??? we got a dirty basement room. we were not the only people complaning. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

i have a pleasure stay at this hotel as good location in central london, just 5 mins walk to paddington station & 15 mins to the airport which really convenience. overall services was good but the only thing just the room was quite small expecially bath room

Nice hotel in a location convenient to Paddington Station, but the king size bed was two saggy old twin mattresses pushed together. The sofa would have been more comfortable. For the price, not worth it simply because the bed was awful.

tho the room was small, it was clean, modern and well appointed. the shower was tiny, but when we complained that water was too hot, they fixed it. desk people were not very service oriented at all. we got switched from sister hotel up the street when we tried to check in. at first, i was reallly disappointed but it turned out that the sister hotel […] was closer to the underground stop. at nite, the neighborhood is not great but in the day, just fine. room was clean, clean clean, good flat screen tv, sheets good, some noises from our ground floor room, but not much. 1. My daughter and I booked a room with 2 beds. At the front desk we asked again for a room with 2 beds. WE got a room with a king-sized bed. 2. Leaky faucet in the tiny bathroom. 3. I left a pair of glasses in my room; the hotel was unable to locate (a) the glasses or (b) any record of my ever staying at that hotel.

Location near Paddington and Hyde Park is very convenient to Heathrow Express. Located on a nice street in residential neighborhood. Tiny room, but clean. Go outside hotel for bar and restaurant.

It's basically clean, but the bathrooms and rooms are tiny - there is basically a 2 foot margin around the uncomfortable twin bed so if you have a suitcase, good luck. The desk has the TV on it, so there is about an 8" inch square spot there, which represents the majority of the available space in the room outside of the tiny bed. Really convenient for Paddington and smart public areas but the smallest (single) room I have ever stayed in in London and so really uncomfortable. There are far better alternatives than this.

We were very impressed with this Hotel, especially concidering the cheap rate we were able to obtain for our 5 night stay in London. It was within easy walking distance of Padington and Hyde Park. The neighborhood was safe for us to walk back in during at night after we had attended shows which was our main concern. It is small, but if you are planning […] on spending your time there sleeping and getting ready, it is perfect. Only complaint was that we were on the bottom floor next to the stairs and would be woken up each morning with the thunking of bagage coming down them, but what can you do. I would stay here again. I've stayed in a lot of small hotels over the years but never in one where I could easily reach out and touch both walls. It's too bad because it's an easy walk from Paddington. Oh and the wallpaper was peeling in the room as well.

You have to get the upgrade to a larger room and even then, it's small. But, the location is great. The staff is decent and the value is good.

Location is pretty convenient. Very close to Paddington station. Room rate is high. Bathroom space extremely tight. Breakfast was expensive and lousy. Quality of linen and blankets poor. Front desk personnel were polite, restaurant personnel left much to be desired.

If it was not for a very friendly staff and an excellent breakfast (not included) I would have been extremely disappointed with this hotel. By US standards the Saftesbury is no more then a 2 star motel. Cramped, noisy, were only half the lights work and the bathroom is only big enough for a child. And forget about the promised in-room internet. However, […] I have no complaints about the staff who were very friendly and did their best to be accommodating, and the unexpected outstanding breakfast we had every morning. どちらのミスかわかりませんが ホテル側は「そちらの対応が間違ったのでは、つまり予約時点の条件をホテル側に正しく伝えてなかったのでは」と責任転嫁を主張していました。 給湯が不良で入浴できず、部屋には、倉庫のような扉があり、中には雑多なものが入れてありました。 予約語に評判をネットで調べましたら、良くなかったので、心配していましたが・・・。 パリは定宿なので快適に過ごしていただけに、ロンドンの印象が悪くなってしまいました。 そちらでも、是非再確認してください。信用に関わると思います！！

Generelt pænt og rent hotel. God betjening. Vores værelse lå godt nok i kælderen, hvor der gik en sti lige forbi vores vindue så man var nødt til at have gardinerne trukket for det meste af tiden. Hvis man skal bruge et billigt værelse på et hotel der ligger godt i forehold til en centralt placeret undergrundsbane, kan dette hotel klart anbefales.( […] ps. morgenmaden var dyr.) Mehr

Hade bokat 2 enkelsängar men blev vid ankomst erbjuden en dubbelsäng vilket vi först tackade ja till, rummet låg dock i källaren, var litet, kallt o hade en 140 säng, det var dock inga problem att få byta rum, fick då ett med 2 enkelsängar, några våningar upp, vilket var både varmt och mkt större. Hotellet ligger ca 30 min gångavstånd från citykärnan […] och shopping, skulle kunna bo där igen vid min nästa vistelse. Dock mkt lyhört, men inga problem om man har öronproppar. Mehr

Godt rent hotel. Ikke som andre 4 stjernet jeg har været på - men det er vist bare standarden i London. Godt værelse, rent og pænt. Men ikke så stort, og placeret i kælderen (dog bedre end traditionel kælder) God beliggenhed i stille område. Kunne godt finde på at benytte hotellet igen.

hadde 5 netter på dette hotellet. Et miniatyr rom med enkeltseng trekker ned med tanke på prisen og antall stjerner. Knall god seng og pute. Utrolige mennesker i resepsjonen som hjalp til, ordnet og hentet alt du måtte ønske. Minus for at det låg igjen sokker og undertøy fra tidligere gjest, vannkokeren virket ikke og det tok 2 dager å få en ny. Men […] siden jeg bare sov der var det ok. Kanskje ikke helt verdt å betale så mye for å bo på Peddington Mehr

The staff informed us - too late, because form the hotel.com site it is under the hotels category - that It is not characterized as a horel, but as an accomondation (or something like that). If it had been a hotel then it would be a three star. A VERY expensive three star. The twin room was VERY small, the size […] of a single room. After complaining, they changed us to a bigger twin room. The bathroom was TINY. The radio and pay-movies did not work, even though we complained about this, after 4 days nothing was done. The staff was very kind and helpful, the room clean and tasteful, the location nice and close to Paddington station. Hotellet ligger nära Paddington station och Hyde park. Inte alltför långt till Notting Hill. Lugnt läge och en reception som var av högsta klass. Rummen förhållandevis rymliga, lite lyhört.

Trevligt hotell med enormt bra läge, nära till underground, tåg och buss. Samt nära till turistbuss som var väl spenderade pengar. Ett bra hotell om man ska sova, rummen var lite små men eftersom vi bara sov där kvittade det. Helt ok frukost som man kunde äta sig mätt på. Väl spenderade pengar!

Very friendly, proffessional and nice staff, but apart from that this hotel has little of the comforts one expects from a 4-star hotel. The room was OK, but nothing more than OK. Veldig fornøyd med hotellet. Stille og rolig omgivelser.Sentralt plassert på Paddington, med både tog og Metro innen kort gangavstand.Helt greie rom. Vi var i øverste etasje. Det var ikke heis helt opp, så det ble litt tungt å bære koffertene opp. Ellers ikke noe å utsi på hotellet.

Hotellet ligger på en lugn och grön gata väldigt nära Paddington Station. Vårt rum var mycket trevligt och badrummet var nytt och fint men lite litet. Vi tog inte frukosten, eftersom den var dyr. På rummet fanns vattenkokare och te, kaffe och koppar (nytt te och rena koppar varje dag) - en mycket trevlig service som ingick i priset.
