Kein Luxushotel, aber für den Preis völlig okay!

Mit der S-Bahn (die Station liegt direkt um die Ecke) ist man nach 6 Stationen direkt am Alexanderplatz! Für 15,00 Euro bekommt man ein Kleingruppen-Tagesticket welches bis nachts 3.00 Uhr gültig ist! In Friedrichshain sind viele kleine / günstige Restaurants (in den Seitenstraßen). Wir waren als Familie im Hostel und hatten unser Zimmer in der 5.Etage […] = es war super ruhig! Die Kinder und auch wir Eltern konnten super durchschlafen!! Danke an alle Mitbewohner für Ihr rücksichtsvolles Verhalten im Flur!!!!! Ich kann dieses Hostel nur empfehlen egal ob jung oder alt!!!! Frühstück gibt es tägl. für wenig Geld und die Auswahl ist relativ hoch : Körnerbrötchen, normale Brötchen, Brot, Cornflakes, 2 Sorten Käse, ca. 6 Sorten Wurst (Schwein/Geflügel), Gurken/Tomaten, Ei und Milch/Tee/Kaffee = also da müßte für jeden etwas dabei sein! Das Personal war freundlich. Von der S-Bahn war das Hotel gut erkennbar, allerdings fehlte ein Hinweis auf den möglichen Eingang. Wir hatten es erst von hinten probiert und mussten dann wieder zurücklaufen. Die Wände sind sehr dünn, man hört ein normales Gespräch, auch wenn nicht jedes Wort zu verstehen ist. Die Umgebung ist nicht schön und ich war froh, nicht auf der Hausseite schlafen zu müssen, wo die Bahn fuhr. Die anderen waren deshalb sehr früh wach. Es liegt schon ein gutes Stück außerhalb und man muss mindestens zweimal umsteigen. Für eine kurze Nacht ist das Hotel völlig ausreichend. Mehr

Preis/Leistung o.k. Alles sauber, täglich frische Wäsche aber Schränke zerbeult, fehlende Stangen am Bett, großes Loch in der Wand . Jugendhotel halt !

Wer nur ein , zwei Nächte übernachten will, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Es scheint eine Anlaufsstelle für Schulreisen zu sein. Dadurch war die Geräuschkulisse auf den Gängen und vor dem Hostel in der Nacht nicht angenehm und störend.

Das Hotel liegt zentral. In unmittelbarer Nähe sind S-und Straßenbahn Station. Das Zimmer war klein aber für kurze Aufenthalt ok. Für den Preis war alles in der Ordnung.

Das ist ein wirklich Internationales Hotel, wer mit jungen Leuten, Mega kleinen "Badezimmern" leben kann, ist hier gut aufgehoben.

The generator is situated in the the former DDR. It is an interesting experience to see the lifestyle there even at the very early hours of the morning. The enviroment of the Hostel is catered for the youths but folks over the hills are also made to feel welcome. The rooms are clean. I would consider to go back there another time.

Das Zimmer war sehr klein, aber zweckmässig und praktisch. Leider kein Safe im Doppelzimmer. 7. Stockwerk von Vorteil.

Der Generator hat eine gute Lage, S-Bahn gleich um die Ecke und 5 Stationen bis zum Alexanderplatz und damit zur City. Sehr empfehlenswert für Leute, die einige Tage in Berlin bleiben wollen. Für ein Hostel geht der Service und alles sicherlich in Ordnung. Von da her gibt's eigentlich nicht viel zu meckern. Jedoch war das Hostel alles in allem sehr lärmig. Die Nachtruhe (Schildern weisen darauf hin) wurde nicht eingehalten und es wurde auch mitten in der Nacht gerne mal sehr laut. Es hatte halt viele junge Leute, die Party machen wollten, […] aber dafür hätte es ja den Bar-Bereich im Erdgeschoss. Fazit: Wenn man selber zum Partyvolk gehört, ist dieses Hostel sicherlich auch eine nette Variante, neue Leute kennenzulernen. Wenn man allerdings Schlaf braucht und am nächsten Morgen fit sein sollte, rate ich von diesem Hostel ab. Mehr

The private twin room we booked was small with tiny modular showers, but to be fair, it was clean. But the biggest drawback was the thin walls. You could hear people's conversations from next door or down the corridor. Gets worse when groups of teenagers return from partying after midnight. The room was near the shared toilets so the banging of doors […] made it worse. We've stayed in other hostels before, but can't remember the last time it was so noisy. The service was poor as well. We were told to wait alongside for check-in as they were changing shifts, but the same person didn't bother telling us that he was ready, even when we were just standing next to the counter. Location was just average even with the S-Bahn Station nearby. Got the room cheap for a single night stay (thankfully!) , but wouldn't go back there again even for a low price. Mehr

The Hotel was very good location to all servieces, cheap if we comparing to another country,the staf friendly,cleaning all the time,romms,bathroom,hall every where,but theres some noise from the location close to the train,and also some noise from young costmer,but overall everything was fine,and I dvise my friend to go to this hotel.

Very good value. Comfortable hostel which is more like a budget hotel. The atmosphere is definitely very young, and could be noisy at times. The location was excellent, as it was relatively simple to get to anywhere in the city.

Excellent location (2 mins walk from the S-bahn station) and service. The breakfast was a bit expensive, but definitely worth it! The rooms were perfectly ok for backpackers and tourists. The bathroom (we had a private bathroom) was a bit small, but clean and hygienic.

Great atmosphere, loved the free breakfast and bar at night. Met some really great people. The room was standard but clean and it had a sink/mirror which was nice. The bathrooms were very clean! They are close to a metro stop but still far out of the main center. Our only complaint was when we checked in they tried to tell us a 4 twin bed is actually […] 4 bunk beds. Although we paid extra that night for an actual 4 bed dorm they refunded us our money the next day and admitted it was their mistake. Overall great staff, had a good nights stay and would recommend. This hostel is quiet large. No so many people live there a few days before Xmas so it is rather quiet. There are supermarket and fast food restaurants nearby.Breakfast is good.

This hostel was cheap but altogether quite OK place to stay. Rooms were clean enough and everything went smoothly. If you just need a room with bed and shower and S-train connection, I would recommend this. I stayed in two-bed-room with my friend.

This was a great hostels! My friends and I were expecting the worse since it was a hostel but it was very similar to an actual dorm. The location was convenient, it only took us about 20 minutes to get to anything we really wanted to see. Overall great service great stay at The Generator hostel.

Paper thin walls so heard every sound, but hostel was very clean, good staff and good service.

Very friedly and helpful reception. Very conveniently located to transportation to airport and city. Unavoidable backpackers shoes smell everywhere. Should use refreshners in the room and hallways. Beware of the interruption of train service during the weekend from the Schonfeld airport.

Upon arriving in Berlin, a public transportation ticket is good for 2 hours, any type in any direction. From the airport, take the TXL bus to either a u-bahn or s-bahn station. Then go to Landsberger Alle stop. When you are on the platform facing the back of the hotel, exit left and you can cut through a lot to the front of the hotel. A bus stop is […] also right in front of the hotel too. The internet connection is good. It's relatively quiet, but I had a room with my own bathroom on the 9th floor. The staff is amazing friendly and they post "things to do in the elevators". It's a normal european breakfast. they also have a walking tour that has a member come to the hotel and lead the way to a free walking tour. The neighbor seems scary (single female), but it was safe. Its always a risk walking outside at night time by your self. But the main road is a commerical one, so there are business that do close at night. It's a cheap hotel with free breakfast near s-bahn. The room was simple and stark...what I would expect from a hostel. I cannot believe the amount of dust on the bed rails and dust on the floor. It was like no one had been in the room for over a month. I wasn't comfortable showering in my bare feet. Luckily I brought flip flops, but have tossed them. It was not too noisy, but there was the occasional […] yelp in the hallway at 3 or 4am. No big deal. Mehr

Great hostel for a very good price! Staff was friendly. Internet was free downstairs. Our room was clean and large, but the bathroom was super tiny. The breakfast was simple but filling- cereals, meats, cheese, bread, coffee and tea. The bar was very cheap, 3euros for a decent beer. The walls are not very soundproof though. I live there because of the price and the location which is next the S Bahn station. The food in the restautant is very good. Everyday of a week is different. But the only problem is that it is not a quiet place because of lots of kids living there. They kept kicking doors at even 23:00~24:00.

overall good experience. the main floor is very loud with all the people. but the customer service is second to none and the hostel was very clean for it's size and amount of guests

Good value for little money. A private room with a toilet and bathroom for the price of a meal. But... expect to meet hundreds of American and European teenagers literally kicking the walls and shouting away their youth or while you're trying to sleep or trying to buy dope from you while you're having your late night e-mail session in the lounge. Additionally, […] the wlan offered for a relatively high prise hardly ever worked properly. Cannot be recommended for people over 25 or families, but budget travellers may still consider this option and find it rewarding. The S-Bahn connections are great and several tram lines also take you there. Mehr

A good barain hostel in Berlin. Location not near city centre, and needs to take S-Bahn (interchanges)if you are from the main train station. Staff really friendly and helpful. There are shops/supermarkets and eateries near the hotel. Free breakfast was Ok considering the budget.

Great location, very close to one of the main train stations, Ostbahnhof, and only 35 mins to Schonefeld. It is just in front of one of the S-Bahn stops and you can also take 3trams and be in the heart of Berlin in 15mins. The room was clean and we had a private bathroom enough for what we needed. The beds were comfortable and you get clean towels/sheets […] as well. There is no wardrobe though. You can pay 10 more euros to checkout at 14.00 which I think is great, because we left on Sunday and obviously we wanted to go out on Saturday night. Mehr

Estuvimos alojados 4 noches en el Generator Hostel de Berlin y realmente esta al lado de la parada del metro "Landsberger Allee". No es que sea el centro pero es practico porque el transporte es rapido y variado. El check in y el check out super rapidos y te dejan guardar las maletas el ultimo dia hasta la hora que quieras. La unica nota negativa es […] que las paredes son muy finas y oyes las conversaciones de los de al lado. Calidad/precio mas que aceptable. Muy recomentable la targeta de turistas Welcome Card para utilizar todos los transportes sin limites. Mehr

Precio calidad, muy correcto. Al lado de una estación de tren que funciona con la misma regularidad de un metro y rápidamente llegas a cualquier parte de la ciudad. También hay el tranvía al lado mismo. Posibilidad de tener habitación con baño que se agradece! Las camas no son las más cómodas del mundo, pero cuando uno está cansado de andar por la ciudad […] duerme cómo un tronco! Alguna noche se oía un poco de jaleo de las habitaciones colindantes, pero nada que no sea normal en un hostel de jóvenes. La atención de los trabajadores muy correcta y limpieza también. El hostel posee buenas instalaciones, está cuidado y limpio. La habitación es cómoda y limpia, lo único negativo es el baño que es muy chico. No está muy cerca de los principales puntos de interés de la ciudad, pero lo rodean una estación de subte y una de tranvía/metrobus que te conecta rápidamente.

Eenvoudig, maar wel een éénpersoonskamer mét ontbijt voor heel weinig geld en de S-Bahn om de hoek. Wel een eindje verwijderd van alle belangrijke plekken.

Très bien! Cette auberge de Jeunesse se veut jeune et dynamique!
