For the price it was amazing

Beach: A+. Hotel: A+ Food Quality: A- Food Price: B- Service/Front Desk: A Would stay here again. Took the minibus (5 minute walk from hotel) and cabs to get to other beaches, Oistens, Bridgetown. Only $2 BBD for the bus. Cabs are more but hard to get anywhere without transportation.

As an event planner and after 2 weeks of working on a program in Barbados and Caribbean cruise, I was looking for a little time off to unwind. I chose the Silver Point due to its location and size of hotel. It was the perfect size to feel welcomed and yet the comfort of privacy. From the moment I arrived I felt welcomed. My accommodation was a wonderful […] surprise as I was upgraded to an oceanview room with glorious views. The hotel staff were very warm and accommodating. If I wanted to venture into town, the St Lawrence Gap is only a 10-15 minute ride. But there is enough to do on property as well. The only comment to improve would be to invest in waterproof pillows for the outdoor furniture as it is clsoe to the water -this would be better alternate. The cabanas are a perfect option as well. Silver Point is a great place to stay especially if you are on holiday. I have stayed 4 times but always on business and although a 30 minute taxi ride from the town it is a convenient 10 to 12 minutes from the airport. I would love to come back on holiday to relax on on the sunlounges, learn some windsurfing, eat more of the tasty food they serve […] especially the local spicy type dishes. The staff make this place with their very friendly chatter and big smiles. They even remember me from past visits! This hotel is just 5 minutes ride by taxi from " Oistins' which is a famous Friday night seafood and drinks experience attended by locals & tourists alike who dance the night away in an informal beach location. I will stay here again, the rooms are nice and the beach views are beautiful. Mehr

We arrived a bit late due to our flight schedule - But the bar/restaurant closed up very early and we hadn't had any dinner and they were not very accomodating to try to get us even a snack of any sort. The room layout was so narrow and crowded that I broke my toe on the big wooden bedframe that was painted to match the flooing - so you couldn't notice […] it. And we only had less that a 2 foot walkway between the foot of the bed and the long table on the other side of the wall. We both hit both our toes and knees on the huge bed frame with resluting bruising for both of us and the broken toe. Not a great way to start our vacation - not being hardly able to walk about. I would anticipate that we were not the only guests who had this problem there. :( Mehr

Have stayed on almost every island and this hotel was fabulous. No mold smell, very clean, beautiful layout, dinner was excellent, service spot on. Can't wait to go back.

This was my third trip to Barbados in 3 months and was delighted that the hotel was as the website showed. Decor: Lots of clean lines and bold colors. The hotel itself was very clean and well maintained. It has a really nice pool deck area that connects to the beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were decent but overpriced. The beach by the hotel was very windy, which attracted a lot of kite surfers. The downside of the hotel is that it is located in a bad neighborhood where […] you probably wouldn't feel safe walking around at night. However, if you are renting a car, it's not really an issue and the hotel is a short drive from Oistins and St. Lawrence. There are almost always taxis waiting around right outside the hotel if you don't plan on renting a car. The hotel grounds are totally safe. Mehr

Loved the hotel itself, freshly painted and updated. Looked very good on the inside and the outside. We had a small room.. tiny by north American standards but quite adequate. Younger crowd than we experienced at both The Crane and The Butterfly, which was a plus. Major activity on the beach is Kitesurfing, but the water and beach are good for play […] also. Thoroughly Enjoyable Location , but not much around the area to keep you entertained. Take a bus or cab into Oistins or the Gap for some nightlife. Mehr

Had a five day stay at Silver Point in an "ocean view suite": Pros: -Large suites that are modern and clean -Balcony -Sun beds by the pool -Kite surfer's dream with a great kite surfing beach and matching winds -Good drinks at the bar Cons: -Unfriendly general staff -No air conditioning in any of the rooms except the bedroom -Bathroom floods when […] taking a shower -No automatic towel service, you have to request it -Can't really swim on the beach due to rocks -Shady neighborhood -Sub par restaurant food -No WiFi in the rooms only by the pool -"Ocean View Suite" is misleading I think if you are a kite surfer this would be a GREAT hotel for you to stay at. Really close and convenient to the airport for an overnight stay if needed.Great waves rolling into the beach with a nice breeze for surfing and kite surfing. Restaurant food is pretty good-try the crabbacks,they're great. Wait staff are friendly and welcomed me back with open arms. You have to get to know Carol .She's got whiskers and a lovely soft […] nature to go with her soft coat. She's the bar kitty. A sweet little cat that epitomises the general relaxed atmosphere. If you want to lounge around by the beach during the day there are real beds with floating muslin curtains if you want to keep out of the sun. The turtles were laying just up the beach when I was there (For you eco folks). Overall a good quiet friendly hotel. No chrome and glitz, but relaxing and worth a visit. Mehr

I have nothing negative to say about this hotel. If you want a relaxed remote getaway this is the perfect place to stay. The food is very good and the staff are so sweet. Be prepared to taxi everywhere if you want to explore the island. If you want to be in the action stay near the Gap or Holetown. I will definitely return.

Fine for a night before a cruise - close to the airport and about 30 minute drive to Bridgetown. Wouldn't want to stay there for a week unless we had a car: not much nearby and very isolated. It does have a great "private" beach with kite sailers performing constantly. The food at the restaurant was delicious, served on an open covered terrace - a bit […] pricy for the location. One word sums up our experience at Silver Point: FANTASTIC!! Very friendly and helpful employees, clean and modern hotel room. W33ould definitely return to Silver Point if our travels bring us to Barbados and would highly recommend this hotel to others!

We stayed here on a couple of days stop over before we went into the deeper into the Caribbean and it was perfect. We were espcially amazed by the beautiful four poster sun loungers that overlooked the sea full of kite surfers. The food was on the expensive side, but if it is too much you can get a taxi to a near by area called Osallos were you go to […] Pat's Place to get some beautifully cooked Swordfish and salad meal for only about ten US. Spent 3 nights at Silver Point pryer to boarding a cruise. It was right on a fabulous beach. Room was very comfortable with nice toiletries and balcony. You do need to take the 11 bus or a taxi to anywhere, but if you want clean and comfortable and quiet all on an amazing beachfront property, then this is it! Would stay there again!

We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the hotel. Consider this location a weekend to relax with only the weather to keep you company. The patio area is adorned with spa beds to lounge in and rattan sofa and club chairs that offer a clear view to the private beach. The food is good although limited. Don't expect your standard menu. The number […] 11 bus is available a block away that will take you to the nearest native shops and open seating eating spots. The bus cost a $1 US each way. The bus experience is something you'll never forget. Up close and personal and packed to the hilt but lots of fun. Your van bus drivers have the music and island attitude. Get a quote from your taxi driver before leaving the airport. We were quoted $13 for the ride but another couple was charged $20 as they failed to receive the qupte before leaving for the hotel. Be prepared for a very isolated ride through depresses residential areas while enroute. Overall we loved the hotel and appreciated the super airconditioner in the room before heading off to our clipper cruise. Enjoy your stay. Mehr

Restaurant is really good and the only one in the immediate vicinity. Don't need to leave the property to have a good experience. It's a fifteen minute ride to airport and other communities...probably thirty minutes to Georgetown.

I would highly recommend staying at the Silver Point Hotel on the stand alone fact of the people who work there. The staff was 5 star quality, who were fun, thoughtful and genuinely nice. The bartender Rachelle kept us entertained every time she worked there. I also loved the fact that you had a choice of either beach chairs or the day beds to sun or […] relax in the shade. I stayed in partial ocean view room which really did have a partial ocean view and it was cool enough on some nights to sleep with the balcony door open and listen to the calming sounds of the ocean waves. The Silver Point is located on the beach but it is on the Atlantic side of the ocean which can be quite rough so I would advice to use caution because there is no life guard on duty but it is good to taking a dip in to cool off. The Silver Point also does a have pool as another option. The atmosphere is very relaxed but it's also a good place to pre-game before heading out to the Gap or Oistins (fish fry on Fridays.) There is 24hr security so you always feel safe and it is located inside a gated community. there are taxis readily available literally outside the gate to take you where ever you go and I have to say they are the most worthy taxi drivers I have known. I lost my cell phone in the back of one and he brought it back the next day! The beds are quite comfortable in the room, the only complaint I have about my room is that there are no outlets in the bathroom (it's against the law in Barbados) and the lighting was on the dim side outside the room. But the front desk was kind enough to loan me a couple of extension cords for my blow dryer so not a big deal. The bathrooms have a great shower and no problems with the hot water and there was plenty of counter top room to hold all my toiletries and my friends (very important for women!) All i all I would give my experience 4.9 out of 5 at the Silver Point. Mehr

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Silver Point hotel. Staff was so friendly and helpful! Beach is beautiful...it is not close to the nightlife but that didn't matter to us. However, it is easy to get to via taxi (10 minutes to St. Lawrence Gap). I found the property wonderful and great access to the beach. If you want to be in town and go out in the evenings then this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for a nice retreat where you plan to do some day trips and lay on the beach this is perfect. Also if you are interested in surfing you are in the center of it all. I had a great experience at Silver Point. The room was modern. Needs a little touch up but very comfortable and updated duplex. The hotel staff is great. They are very attentive. Hotel restaurant was fabulous. Food was delicious, a little pricey but is expected. Cabanas around the courtyard and pool was great also. Overall experience, wonderful!

This hotel was an incredible value. It is right on a beautiful beach. It was close to the airport. The pool and the view of the ocean was spectacular and they have these wonderful bed-like cabanas all over the place. The staff were wonderful and polite. The only trouble we had was the air conditioner in our first room was not working right so we had […] to change rooms but the reception was pleasant and had no problem switching us. Silver Point turned out to be one of the best hotels my husband and I ever stayed! The property was immaculate and right by the beach. During the evening after checking in, we discovered that the AC unit in our room was broken. The staff took care of us immediately and managed to upgrade us into an oceanfront room for our trouble. This shows that they […] truly care about their customers. The restaurant was reasonably priced and the menu consisted of a section on local dishes. We enjoyed several meals there and loved the food every time. We highly recommend Silver Point for any couples who are ready to get away from everything. At this place, you’ll get to relax and just enjoy listening to the ocean. One thing to be advised is that there is not much going on around the area. The hotel is situated in a residential neighborhood, so plan to either take a taxi or local bus whenever you want to go into town. Mehr

I found the hotel staff to be extremely friendly, they were helpful and courteous at all times. The restaurant onsite may not have the most to choose from but the quality and taste can't be beat. We enjoyed the best mahi-mahi we have EVER had! The surrounding neighborhood may not look the best but it's totally safe. This is a great little hotel and if you want watersports a-plenty it is a great vibe with everything there on your doorstep. Go and see Brian Talma for all you kit or lessons. Really nice feel to the hotel which sits between expensive luxury and the cheap and nasty in the Gap. A great find.

Don't be fooled, though the pics online are beautiful, the facility has been poorly maintained and is somewhat run down. There is no apparent management to control cleanliness and upkeep. I must admit it's a shame, since the hotel is nicely done and has a great beach location, especially for surfers, kite surfers and wind surfers. Those beautiful beach […] beds that are shown in the pics no longer have white side drapes; they are now a dirty grey. The beautiful rooms are NOT what they show in the pics. When I first arrived, the room they gave me was dark, and had a distinct mold odor. The bedspread had a hole in it, the pillows were NOT clean, the floors were dirty and the mini refrigerator was rusty. I then called to request a change of rooms and they gave me a 3rd floor loft, which was not moldy but still lacked in cleanliness. I had further issues, but the hotel staff was kind and quick to solve them. Another thing that I did not like was the lock on the doors. They are just a bedroom door lock with a key. And even though there is "security" walking the hotel and it's perimeters at all hours, the neighborhood that the hotel is located in is quite questionable. Also keep in mind that the hotel is far from everything so if you want to eat out, although the hotel restaurant is delicious and beautifully situated right on the beach, you must request a taxi and travel for about 20 minutes. And the wi-fi that they say they have is only available at the bar/restaurant, NOT inside your room. Keep in mind that they don’t have LAN either. This hotel is losing out on so much potential. If it would only raise their standards of cleanliness, maintenance and internet connection this hotel could easily be a 4 star hotel, but unfortunately I would only give it a 2.5. Mehr

Hotel had modern interior design, great pool and cabana area with comfy beds, right on the beach. Good service. But, our room A/C wasn't working and there was minimal lighting. Our friends were in a 2nd room and they had the same issues PLUS only hot water in the shower. Seems ideal but noone wants to be scolding their skin - they called guest services […] who said no other rooms were available. Our guests suggested some type of discount and were told bluntly "no, if you don't like it you can go to another hotel." Price per night was pricey so very surprised at their reply. Mehr

Great hotel and a beautiful setting. The hotel and beach are incredible. The restaurant has great food and drinks although it was never busy. You can walk o the small beach or walk around the jettys to other areas and beaches but walking around the "neighborhood" isn't as pleasant. Having a car makes it a perfect get-away base and you feel like it is […] your own private resort and beach. Especially great if you like kite surfing or wind surfing. The water is a little rough for snorkeling. Rooms were great and the hotel has a cool modern vibe. Barbados isn't my favorite island, but I would go back because of the hotel. Mehr

the hotel was absolutely gorgeous. the facilities were clean, modern and comfortable. the staff was very friendly and eager to help with any questions we had. we ate at the hotel restaurant every day for breakfast, once for lunch and once for dinner and were always satisfied with our meals (and the prices). the only drawback from the hotel was the […] neighborhood it was located in. it is in a residential area that is somewhat sketchy. therefore, we were not able to walk to nearby attractions. however, it was never a problem getting a taxi to take us where we wanted to go (which was never more than a 15 minute ride). i would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who doesn't put a huge priority on location. It was raining hard and there was water everywhere in the corridors and staircase and the room was on the third floor with no elevator. I guess the architect who designed it wasn't thinking of the rain and the frogs weeping at night was incessant for the next three days, no fault of the hotel but mostly mother nature. The room was okay a bit crowded […] with a huge bed on the loft (which was unexpected) Tthe staff was nice and helpful. The beach was quite but the plant debris washed ashore needed a little cleaning. The hotel is a bit away form the main road and tucked away in a residential area but close to the airport and taxis are always available. It is a nice low budget hotel although the food is expensive. Pleasant staff and a very relaxing environment. Plenty of sunbeds and large proper beds to relax on by the pool and overlooking the sea. Quiet and peaceful. Staff attentive and helpful. The beds in the rooms were FANTASTIC, probably the best I have stayed in. The balcony was nice and the views great - we were in a room at the front overlooking the sea. […] The food may be a bit limited if you are staying over a week. The pasta night was very good. I would definitely go back and have already recommended it to people are staying over for a stopover before flying onto Dominica. Mehr

Had A/C but vinyl shutters which could not be closed completely. Really a joke when you think of the energy waste!!! Really nice looking hotel in not so nice surroundings (but quite safe). Remote location, far from everything. Nice for a relaxing 3-4 day break. Restaurant is pricey, good food. Not self catering. Partial view rooms have NO kitchenette...not […] even an ice bucket!!!! The other rooms have micro and fridge. Car is recommended. TIP- ask a local for location of "Super Center" grocery store (10 min drive). Great food/beverage selection with wonderful hot deli. We bouught fruits, beverages, sunscreen and dinner from the deli. Very low priced complete meals (shop early for best selection). Try the shepards pie! Mehr

Pefect for wind/kite surfers...

We chose a "Partial Ocean View" room (Room 301). Nice sunny mornings and right on the very short boardwalk to the restaurant and beach. My girlfriend absolutely loved the daybeds out by the beach and pool. The hotel is in a nicely secluded and quiet area - which is what we wanted. The hotel restaurant is good, but a little pricey (Note: Restaurant […] food is expensive in general in Barbados, so in comparison not so bad). We rented a car and dined out at Oistins or near St. Lawrence Gap most evenings. We also picked up beverages, snacks, and breakfast items at a supermarket in town and stored in the mini fridge in the room. The beach is beautiful. If you are a weak swimmer I wouldn't recommend going in much past your waist. The currents can be very strong. The wind is excellent for kitesurfing and windsurfing. On good days a longboard might catch you some waves here, but there are better spots for board surfing on the South coast - South Point and Freights are a short 5 minute drive away. Surfer's Point and Silver Sands also have okay breaks within 300-400 meter walks or quick drives. DeAction Surf shop is right next door to the hotel - they can set up surf/windsurf/kitesurf lessons and rentals and offer lots of local knowledge about the area The Silver Point was friendly and the place was very well managed. Very up to date Hotel with outstanding service.

We had to overnight in Barbados in between flights so we only had a short time at Silver Point, but it was a very nice property & comfortable room. The location is also very convenient to the airport. The staff was most helpful, especially Samantha who promptly answered email questions & arranged our airport pickup & return transportation so we didn't […] have to stress about a taxi when our flight arrived close to midnight. Silver Point has amazing views, very clean rooms, and the best french toast around! Will recommend to anyone heading to Barbados.Located away from all the bustle of the cities but we loved the quietness and relaxation. The cities were very accesable via the bus or the 11.

We were only staying over one night to catch another flight to a smaller island, but the hotel was nice, clean, on a beautiful beach, the staff were very pleasant and the room for the price was great! The only complaint is the limited offerings and quality of the food services and they were out of local beer.
