We heard sirens all day and all night. The hotel staff was very nice. The morning breakfast had a good variety, hot breakfast, fruit, cold cereals, etc. They just ran out of things prior to the cut-off time for breakfast, so get there early. The hotel is located just a few blocks from the convention center, as well as Starbucks! Staff was very accommodating and pleasant.

I do not remember reading anywhere that dogs were welcomed to stay in this hotel. Although the clerk assured me that they had a seperate area of rooms for those with dogs, they were in the elevators, lobby and breakfast area. If you have any animal allergies, you might want to find a hotel that doesn't allow pets.

Nice big rooms. Clean. Beds were kinda firm but ok to sleep in.

Large room with fridge, breakfast had good assortment of hot food (eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy), gym had newer treadmill, bike, elliptical with iPod plug-ins. Free computers and printers in lobby. Staff very friendly and helpful.

We had stayed at this hotel before and found it to be average. Good location and at an average price. However, we will NEVER stay here again! We were awakened by workers pounding outside our window early in the AM on a Sunday morning. I find it absolutely UNACCEPTABLE to have anyone standing at the window of a 4th floor room whle you sleep!. This happened […] 3 times by 10am. When I called the front desk I was told "sorry, there's nothing we can do for you". If you are foolish enough to book a room here, KEEP YOUR CURTAINS CLOSED AT ALL TIMES!!!!! Mehr

Clean, comfortable, walking distance to many attractions, restaurants ans bars. Free parking too. Most downtown hotels charge fifteen to twenty bucks to park.. Breakfast was good. Hot food consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon and biscuits and gravy....also cereals, pastries, fruit and toaster items. Multiple juices and coffee and tea also.

I've stayed in hundreds of hotels and would highly recommend this one. I have stayed here four separate times, and will definitely stay here again. I first stayed at this location for business, but have returned several times for pleasure. The rooms have recently been remodeled and are quite nice. The front desk staff and maids are friendly. This hotel was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It was not at all worth what I payed. The rooms were very run down. Beds very uncomfortable. The heater fan easy very noisy. The bathroom door could hardly be closed. I could go in and on. Don't stay here. Your better off at a Motel 6.

Apparantly, they've gotten the message that they need to freshen up and are in the midst of construction. The cute signs about toolbelts helped, but didn't completely take away the pain of a guy pounding on the walls until 6p. The whole hotel was pretty dingy and depressing...hopefully it will be more uplifiting after the refurbishment, but not currently […] up to the standard for it's price and it's chain. Mehr

First we were dissapointed: there are two Holiday Inns in Old Sac. We thought we were staying walking distance to down town. We were way too far away to walk. The Hotel was clean but under construction so we got woken up from Jack Hammer noises in the morning...and we were looking forward to sleeping in. Other than that we enjoyed out stay.

Excellent location for lots of things to do and see. Lots of excellent affordable restaurants within walking distance. Felt safe walking around this area late at night. Good breakfast. Good value

We stayed 3 nights - - hotel was clean, staff was friendly and accommodating, morning breakfasts were nicely prepared and well presented. Good location near downtown Sacramento. We would stay there again in the future.

I was very impressed with this hotel, we had a great stay. The hotel breakfast that was included was convenient and excellent. The location of the hotel couldn't have been more central to a lot of good stuff. The staff was friendly, the room was very comfortable and clean. I will be staying here again.

Ice machine on the 2 & 4 th floors broken. Air in hallways also not working on 2 & 4th floor. The doors are old on the rooms and most of them say occupied instead of vacant so I didn't enter the room until the front desk came up to see if the room was truely empty. The mattress are also old.

My sister and I are pretty much up in age and my sister has trouble walking. Our room was right next to the elevator and everything was so convenient. On our next trip to Sacramento we will definitly stay at the Hilton Express.

3 rooms reserved, doubles, for graduation commencement at Memorial Auditorium. Within walking distance which was great when last-minute run to back door with graduate to have tie tied ensued! Breakfast was varied, fat cinnamon rolls, cereal, cheese omelettes pre-formed. Good enough for most folks. Not gourmet but varied enough for most tastes. Appaling that for a hotel of this price range would deliver a room with a dirty bathroom sink, and when told, front desk apoligised but adviced that cleaning team would not be back until the morning. Long distance phone did not work either, but maintenance service would not be available until the morning. Unventilated, smelled as if never ventilated. Old […] carpet. Looked dirty. Name which includes Convention Center misleads customer to think they are close to the convetion center, whereby one still has to drive -not walk- to the convention center. don't recoment. Mehr

Was very comfortable room, just as one would expect, Many resturants with in walking distance, even though we heard footsteps it was not as horrible as some might think overall it was a nice stay for the 3 days we were in Sacramento

Our hotel stay was great and I would recommend this hotel to others in the future.

I went to a five (5) day conference and had a great time staying at the Holiday Inn Convention Center. It was a quick walk from the Downtown Convention Center and I found out that it was BETTER than the two Convention Center hotels located next door. From what I heard, I chose a great hotel considering they provided free breakfast, wifi, and a printing […] station nearly $50-$100 cheaper. In addition, the place was clean and well maintained. The stay at Holiday Inn express is very unpleasant because of their bad customer services. After a whole day's meeting, I was about to take a shower at 10pm but found that the faucet was not working at all. I called the front desk for help and expect someone can help me. The answer i got was they did not have anyone to come to my room to check it out. […] I can either wait till tomorrow 630am when there is an extra staff or went downstairs to switch another room for me. I do not want to wait till tomorrow morning, so I have to put on my clothes, pack my luggages and run to the front desk to pick up key for another room. It is ridiculous that Holiday Inn only has one person working 10am at night. I can not imagine if there is an emergency how they deal with the situation. Let people wait till next morning? Mehr

The staff was very friendly, and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay, and it was located close to the theater district.

I was very impressed right off the bat because my friend Jeff & I arrived 3 hours early and were allowed to check-in early so we could freshen-up after a long drive. In this day and age, that is unheard of. The room was very clean and larger than anticipated as was the breakfast. BACON & EGGS!!! Everyone was courteous and a short for block walk had […] me at the Convention Center for most of the 3 days I was in Sacramento, but I got to rest intermittantly whenever I needed to. Overall, one of the best experiences I've had in the last year and I do a good amount of travelling. Well done Holiday Inn Express and Hotels.com comes through again!!! Mehr

I have traveled the world over and use Holiday Inn Express most times I go. I have to say the Sacramento hotel was great. Great price which included a fabulous breakfast! Close to the Convention Center and enjoyed the walk as there was many sites to see, including the Governor's House. Would recommend to all my family and friends to stay at a Holiday […] Inn Express. No upgrades/updating in 5 years. Dripping faucet in the tub vs. roaring fan in the room. Not a quiet sleeping condition. Slow, cranky, old elevator . Very clean, but tired. I've stayed at this same facility for 5 years for an annual conference. Will look elsewhere if maintenance issues are not addresses. Much more than I expected. All amenities were just fine. Clean room, great wifi, decent breakfast and easy walking distance to no less than 4 Japanese restaurants and the Convention Center. Would definitely stay again.

Overall the hotel has aged. The rooms are a bit musty, the elevator antique and the whole place make various noises. The shower did not work but the staff was professional and attentive.

This hotel was ok BUT if you want to sleep in forget it! There are no black out curtains or no way of you closing the curtains so the citys lights came into your room. Musty room odor. But if you're just looking for a place to lay your head down at night it will do. I expected more from the Holiday Inn chain.
