Nur ca. 80 m von der Metrostation Deak Ference entfernt. Großteil der Sehenswürdigkeiten von dort aus zu Fuß erreichbar. Ansonsten optimale Anbindung an Metro, Straßenbahn und Bus. Das Hotel selber kann ich jederzeit weiter empfehlen. Preis- und Leistungsverhältnis passen.

Das Hotel befindet sich in der Nähe der EXPO. Da wir ein Auto dabei hatten, war mfür mich der kostenlose Parkplatz direkt vor dem Hotel super. In anderen Hotels in BUD musste ich immer bis zu 16 EUR zahlen. Dafür ist man hier etwas abseits, jedoch in ca. 10 minuten mitten in BUD. Das Frühstücksbuffet entsprach den Erwartungen. Auswahl an Eierspeisen und Wurst war besser als im Mercure. Und das beste, hier noch alles inkl. Auf dem Dach gibt es auch noch einen WellnessBereich. Hier der Abstrich, die Sauna wurde leider erst am abend angeschaltet und der Jacuzi war leider abends um 7 immer noch auf 29 Grad. DIeser wurde zwar an diesem Tag gereinigt, doch dies hätte man auch am Vormittag machen können, so dass am Abend dieser auch zu benutzen ist! Ansonsten, tolles Hotel. Ich werde beim nächsten mal dieses wieder buchen. TIP: LH hat mir dieses Hotel schon mal angeboten, als mein Flug leider nicht zurück nach FRA starten konnte

Großes, schön eingerichtetes Hotel, zwar etwas Abseits gelegen und die Umgebung ist eine einfache Wohngegend. Dennoch reizvoll direkt gegenüber der Margareteninsel und man ist schnell bei den Sehenswürdigkeiten. Bezahlbare Parkplätze vor dem Hotel sind ein großer Pluspunkt in Budapest.

Lage: Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe des Hauptbahnhofs, in einer etwas ruhigeren Seitenstraße und ist relativ einfach zu finden. Die Stadt-Busse fahren fast direkt vor dem Hotel vorbei, so dass man diese wunderbar für die Fahrt in den Stadtkern nutzten kann. Die Tickets konnten wir direkt im Hotel kaufen. Hotel: Das Hotel macht schon von Außen einen sehr schönen und gepflegten Eindruck und auch der Empfangsbreich sowie die Aufzüge und Flure alles super sauber und in einem ordentlichen Zustand. Die Empfangsmitarbeiter waren sehr nett und man konnte alles auf Deutsch erledigen. Zimmer: Die Zimmer waren sauber, nur im Bad waren ein paar kleine Stellen, die noch genauer geputzt hätten werden können und die Dusche hätte von Außen eine neue Fuge benötigt. Aber die Dusche im innreren und die Amaturen waren sauber und in einem ordentlichen Zustand. Das Bett war super bequem und auch sehr schön groß! Der Ausblick aus unserem Zimmer im obersten Stockwerk war sehr schön. Das Zimmer war sehr warm, da wir die Klimaanlage nicht zum laufen gebracht haben, aber wir haben das Fenster zum Balkon geöffnet und das war dann sehr angenehm. Schwimmbad/Restaurant: Haben wir beides nicht benutzt und können dazu nichts sagen. Frühstück: Die Auswahl war umfangreich, viele frische Früchte und Müsli, verschiedene Brote, Wurst und Käse. Auch warme Speisen. Es war für jeden etwas dabei. Tiefgarage: Wir haben den Tiefgaragenplatz genutzt, weil unser Auto ziemlich neu ist. Leider ist die Abfahrt in das zweite UG ziemglich eng und steil, so dass man vorsichtig fahren bzw. sein Auto gut kennen sollte. Aber ansonsten ist die Garage sehr parktisch und sauber. Abschließend kann man sagen, ein sehr schönes Hotel, in dem wir immer wieder übernachten würden, da es uns vor allem auf die Qualität der Betten sowie die Sauberkeit der Zimmer ankommt und diese unseren doch sehr hohen Anforderungen gerecht wurden. Haben 4 Nächte im Orion gewohnt und sind total begeistert. Das Personal war superfreundlich und hilfsbereit-und zwar ohne Ausnahme. Die Lage in einer Seitenstrasse zwischen Kettenbrücke und Elisabethbrücke optimal. Die Zimmer sind geräumig, sauber und haben alles, was man braucht. "Hotel mit gutem Preisleistungsverhältnis"
Sauberes Hotel, sehr freundliches Personal, günstige Lage und nicht weit entfernt zu Sehenswürdigkeiten. Zimmer ist sehr sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet, Bad ein bißchen klein geraten. Für Stadtbesichtigungen gut gelegen - Nähe Citadelle und Burg - der Rest befindet sich grösstenteils in Pest. Dieser Stadtteil ist leicht Fuß oder per Tram/Bus zu erreichen. Mehrere Restaurants in der Nähe. Leider liegt das Hotel in zweiter Reihe zum Fluss. Weder vorne (Häuserreihe zum Fluss), noch hinten (grosse Kirche in ca. 8m Entfernung) gibt es […] einen Ausblick. Da wir das Hotel nur zum Schlafen und Frühstücken benutzt haben würde ich sagen OK! Wer Abends gerne den Blick über seinen Urlaubsort schweifen lässt ... nicht zu empfehlen! "Sehr zentral gelegenes Hotel"
Das Hotel bietet ein optimales Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Die Zimmer sind sauber, die Betten angenehm und es ist sehr ruhig. Einziges Manko sind die nicht zu öffnenden Fenster. Das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Beim Nachtportier erhält man auf Wunsch kalte Getränke und kann sich im Frühstücksraum aufhalten. Internet ist vorhanden […] und bei Problemen hiermit, wird einem sehr freundlich geholfen. Hervorzuheben ist die äußerst zentrale Lage; man kann die wesentlichen Sehenswürdigkeiten gut zu Fuß erreichen. Gleich um die Ecke befindet sich ein zu empfehlendes Restaurant. Es gibt in der Nähe noch zwei weitere, aber dies ist das Beste. Noch ein kleiner Hinweis: Man sollte Euros nicht am Flughafen umtauschen, das ist der absolut schlechteste Kurs. Mehr

Sehr höfliches Personal, reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet.
Das Hotelpersonal war ausgesprochen freundlich, die gleichen Mitarbeitenden wie ein Jahr zuvor. Service etc. war gleich gut geblieben, da wir ein Nichtraucherzimmer bekommen konnten, waren wir eher noch zufriedener als beim ersten Besuch.

Das Best Western Orion ist sehr zu empfehlen. Es ist ein eher kleines aber sehr angenehmes Stadthotel. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber geräumig und in einem top Zustand. Einzig im Badezimmer war es etwas eng. Um zu den interessanten Stadtteilen zu gelangen muss man einzig die Brücke unmittelbar neben dem Hotel überqueren. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig […] und gut. Leider hat es im Frühstückssaal nicht all zu viel Platz, so dass wir einmal (von 3 mal) kurz warten mussten. Das ORION kann als Stadthotel weiterempfohlen werden. Ruhige Lage (wenn Zimmer nach hinten), sehr freundliches Personal, in nur 10 Fussminuten im Zentrum (Fussgängerzone).

Hotel is between the Castle and Gellert Hill, the street it on is a bit run down but the hotel is grand and clean. Its very much a place to stay not a place to live, they are a few restaurants behind it for dinner and drinks

From our arrival, we were impressed with the staff and service. The tram service is very close and provides excellent transportation or connections to every area of the city. Breakfast was delicious. Hotel staff very helpful helping with communications following a pickpocket issue in the city.

"Hotel Orion - clean and friendly"
The hotel is close to the Danube and Elizabeth Bridge. The staff are friendly and helpful and offer useful advice on restaurants and places to go. The rooms are of a decent size and are spotlessly clean. We had a good breakfast every morning. The air conditioning was a bit noisy but it was having to work overtimedue to the 41 degree heatwave. This hotel was great in all respects, but one. When I was there it was unusually hot in Budapest, and the AC struggled to keep the room cool enough. Other than that the hotel was great. The staff was very helpful!
"Very good hotel"
It was a vy nice stay during our trip at Budapest. The only prob we faced was we can't find the hotel when we reached because we need to take the right bus and alight at the right place. The hotel staffs are vy helpful n polite. ;-) Our toilet room having a little prob which we cant close it properly but overall the room condition is ok. The breakfast […] also vy nice... well located on the Buda side. Less than 100yds to the Danube. Easy walk to the Pest side of the river. Friendly and attentive staff, nice breakfast. Only real complaint would be the a/c.It was barely able to keep the room tolerable. Would not recommend staying here in warm weather.

The exterior of the hotel could do with a bit of face-lift, however the interior of the hotel is spotlessly clean and whilst the room and in particular the bathroom was small it was more than adequate for a sightseeing break. The hotel is very close to all the sights of Budapest and we were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to go. The continental […] breakfast was very good and there is someone to cook your eggs for you, which is nice. There is no facility to make tea or coffee in the rooms, however, the dining room is available all day where you can make tea and coffee. There is no bar in the hotel but the rooms have a mini bar. The hotel staff were very friendly and pleasant and had good English. All in all this hotel is great value for money and whilst it is not a luxury hotel it is a great base for seeing Budapest. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a central, inexpensive and clean accommodation for a city break Mehr

"The best place to stay in Budapest"
I'm a single female who doesn't mind walking, so it was perfect. It's located about 2 miles from the Keltic station on the other side of the Elizabeth's bridge. Every day, I saw the river, the bridges, the Gilbert Hill. its' within walking distance of EVERYTHING, including the Szyechi bathhouse and Castles. The breakfast is amazing- fresh eggs, fresh […] juice, tea selection. The staff is so friendly. The rooms are big, tvs, radios, free internet, large bathrooms. Its near a church so there are some bells, but they arent too disruptive. It's close to a trams stops as well, if you don't want to walk. Mehr

The hotel is located in a great location, within walking distance of most anything you want to see. The bathroom is very small but functional, staff was very helpful and pleasant, location, again was great, and will go back there if ever in Budapest.

visited nov 2010. i found the hotel very clean,room was spacious and comfortable,breakfast good and the staff friendly and helpful .located on the buda side of the river and in walking distance of the castle and the ciyt centre.over all this is a small friendly hotel in a quiet location but close to all amenities with frequent trams and buses running […] with stops less than 50 metres away.i give it ten out of ten and fully recommend to anyone. All in all an excellent choice for a short city trip to Budapest: friendly and competent staff, great filling breakfast, clean rooms, convenient location in walking distance from major attractions (bus and tram stops are also not far away...). I really can't fault the room, which was comfortable and spacious, or the breakfast which had choices for all tastes, but the location in Buda isn't ideal. There are bus and tram lines close by, but only two or three restaurants and those at the expensive end, and few shops south of the chain bridge. "Cozy hotel, friendly staff, convenient location"
The Orion is a small hotel 1 block from the Danube and tram stop and walking distance to the Citadel, Liberty Monument, Taban Church and Museum. The staff is friendly and trilingual (English, German and Hungarian). Rooms are small but clean and modern. Breakfast was GREAT.

Location was excellent for accessing the Buda Palace, museums and Fisherman's Bastion. Easy walking distance to sites in Pest via either the Elizabeth or Chain bridge. Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast options; loved the cheese omelets and selection of breads.

"Clean, Quite, Great Customer Service- too firm of bed"
This hotel is on the Buda side. it takes about 20 minutes to cross the bridge by foot. If you are not able to walk for that long at a moderate pace this hotel may not work for you, as the closest metro is about that far in walking distance as well. The hotel was what I would consider to be a 3 Star class. It was clean, and the staff was very helpful. […] The hotel has cameras in the lobby monitoring the street if you bring your car. They also lock the front door at some point in the night. This neighborhood was safe,so I would not take the security as a warning flag. The hotel also has a fridge selling bottles of water, cokes, and beer. This is near the lobby. They also keep a desktop computer in the breakfast area free of charge to use. I warn you that the keyboard is Hungarian, and make sure yo know your passwords if it has special characters, memorization of your own keys at home will not help you. The hotel also provides bacon and eggs, but you should ask for this service. There are cheeses, bread, meat, tomatoes, and cream cheese to chose from. You have a choice of many teas, coffee, and apple or orange juice. The water and juice was safe to drink. As I am American and took the chance of finding out if it was safe, and I never got sick from the water in the breakfast room. The sick water I never tried. The Room was renovated, but the decor was what reminded me of the 1980's. The carpets, sheets, and room was over all clean. I will warn you though- do not drink from the glasses in the bathroom. I have to say this was the biggest fault of the hotel. I saw residual toothpaste/saliva in one of the cups. The next day there was less in the cup. I believe house keeping rinses only. The only other thing I would change is the mattress was too firm for my liking- but that is relative to each individual, and I would have a safety box put in the room. I really enjoyed the mini fridge- the prices for drinks was comparable to every where else in town. Mehr

What a surprise! A very reasonable, well managed hotel with modest but clean and comfortable rooms. The hotel staff was friendly and quickly responsive to all our needs. They provided free internet service and breakfast which was served in a very comfortable cafe just off the lobby. It was excellent.
