Best Western Plus Desert Villa Inn - Barstow

Das Hotel liegt verkehrsgünstig für Durchreisende und leidet gleichzeitig unter seiner günstigen Verkehrslage: Der Interstate-Verkehr ist deutlich hörbar. Das Personal am Empfang war sehr freundlich. Leider meinte die Dame, die sich um den Frühstücksraum kümmerte, dass es um 9.15 Uhr an der Zeit sei, alles wegzuräumen - obwohl wir noch aßen und das […] Frühstück eigentlich bis 9.30 Uhr gehen sollte. Das Frühstücksangebot war für amerikanische Verhältnisse allerdings wirklich gut. Das Zimmer selbst war sehr geräumig und sauber. Leider ließ sich das Türschloss von innen nicht richtig verriegeln und die Toilettenspülung war defekt, so dass uns morgens der Griff in die Hände fiel. Die Beschwerde darüber wurde vom Empfang freundlich entgegengenommen und Abhilfe angekündigt. Da wir danach abreisten, wissen wir nichts über den Fortgang. Alles in allem ist das Hotel aber trotzdem okay und bietet eine günstig gelegene Übernachtungsmöglichkeit. Mehr

Ordentliches Zimmer, nur schade das der Pool nicht genutzt werden konnte. Er hatte ein Leck.

Obwohl ein Comfort - Zimmer gebucht wurde uns nur ein Standart - Zimmer bereitgestellt. Es benötigte eine heftige intervention um das gebuchte Zimmer zu erhalten. Beim Auschecken wollte man uns die bereits bezahlten Zimmer nochmals verrechnen. Auch das erforderte eine längere Überzeugungs - Diskussion und verzögerte unsere Abreise um eine halbe Stu […] nde. We did book king bed with sofa -room and got 2*queen and no sofa.. You could see the weather from rifts in the door. All of us were coughing during the night (not happened earlier or after leaving the hotel). There is a railway really near and you can hear and feel every train that goes by. But the location was good and breakfast was ok, in room there […] was refrigerator and microwave oven as promised. Mehr

Not good...the kind of hotel you wish you didn't stay in...pay a little extra for a better hotel in barstow...pretty much a motor lodge / motel...

Water and water heater goes out New Years day. Not good. I went to the front desk after taking a cold shower and was told sorry. Just wait. They gave me a free night for the next visit. but would i stay there again. No. Could be a nice place, breakfast was good. But taking a cold shower and then turning off the water on New Years day. Not to good.

The guy at the reception was very helpful and professionnal, the room was comfortable and clean and we enjoyed the breakfast.

This Best Western motel had such a clean room for our one night stay--there were even cute little towel elephants decorating the beds! There was a little noise from the freeway and train but it didn't bother us.

We stayed at this motel on our way to Yosemite after having left Vegas. Great little place off the beaten track. Had dinner at the cocos up the road. Nice place. Some outlet shopping 15 mins down route 66. Breakfast was pleasant.

We had 6 rooms at Best Western Barstow & at least 3 were full of flys. I was up at 2am swatting the 10 or so flys in my room. Not a good nights sleep. Also, quite expensive for a freeway exit dumpy hotel. I don't recommend.

Nice hotel. Nice people. Good location. Just needed better air conditioning.

Just passing through so only stayed one night. Situated right by Interstate and railroad so can be a little noisy in certain rooms. Room was spacious, clean & comfortable. Not many decent places to eat nearby. Breakfast was fine.

The stay was enjoyable; the staff made the towels into the shape of animals which lifted my spirits, but it is near a highway so there is some noise. Within the same parking lot is a mobile home park but the residents weren't loud or obnoxious.

Lots of room details (lock, scraped-off paint, non-working hair dryer, etc.) needed attention. Paper-thin linens.

Quite pleased with the welcoming front desk person. The facility is a little worn down but acceptable for our purposes.

My room smelled strongly of cleaning disinfectant. The pool was closed due to maintenance problems. At 9:30 at night, I had to call the front office because people were drinking alcohol and having loud conversations in the parking lot. All in all, not a comfortable stay.

The motel is very difficult to get to, due to the location from the freeway. The first room we were in had mice on the bed, and all over in the room. The pool was unavailable. The room they moved us to was tolerable. The air from the air conditioner went up the curtain to the window, and not into the room, and we never got the temperature down to a […] comfortable level even with the temp set to the lowest setting. Very comfortable accomodations. Beds were great and it was easy to find (right off the I-40). Good breakfast selection too.

This was just a one nighter on our way to AZ. Good location for a late start first night of driving. The room was over 100 degrees when we got in at 10:00 pm, and it took all night for the AC to cool it down enough to be comfortable. In the morning I realized the front door had about an inch of open space on the bottom. I would recommend weather stripping […] and the courtesy of starting the AC when they plan to put someone in there! Staff was great, and for the price and convenience of location, it was worth it. Don't expect deluxe accomodations, and you won't be disappointed! Mehr

You will suffer noise from trains ( frequent) and cars, especially if you have a room near the street. Room was very clean. Very few good restaurants in this town

This was a very nice hotel right off the freeway and close to eating places. We were very comfortable there.

lots of restaurants nearby and it's convenient to both interstates and state route 58

Overall, the hotel was great for the value. Location is not ideal, but rooms are spacious, staff is friendly and motel is clean. WIreless connection is questionable at times (probably based on significant winds), but continental breakfast is good and very convenient. Still don't know if swimming pool belongs to motel or Mobile Home park that's attached. […] Stayed two straight weeks without incident. Mehr

I would stay here again, very clean and comfortable. Good free breakfast. Close to the freeway so using it as part of my trip was perfect.

On the day we arrived in Barstow there was a blinding alcali / sand storm. It was extremely windy. When we inspected the Best Western Desert Villa Inn we found that the room was almost on the highway. The pool water was much too cold to go swimming. The foreigners in the office agreed to cancel my reservation. As we drove around Barstow, we found that […] every hotel room was next to the freeway. We concluded that Barstow is a waste of time so we drove through to Las Vegas. Mehr

staff was friendly, helpful and accomodating . It is possible that train noise could be a problem but I slept through the trains without a problem. A well out fitted fitness room was much appeciated too

Clean rooms, good service, flexible with change of plans

The hotel is clean and they offer good variety of options for breakfast. Having easy access to free wi-fi is always a nice plus.

Not used to seeing guests "tail-gating" in the hotel parking lot, so that was odd. We were able to back into the parking stall in front of our room so we felt a little more comfortable. Although the rooms had been upgraded in recent years, it was also evident that they were heavily used...entry door didn't close properly and security latch was loose; […] bathroom door, casing, baseboards chipped/soiled. From the look of the guests(?) hanging out in the parking lot, we decided not to use the coffee maker. Breakfast was just fine. Noise levels were low despite proximity to freeway and railroad. I reserved a jacuzzi suite for me and my boyfriend to stay just the night in Barstow and although it was older, it was clean, the bed was soft, the shower/bathroom were clean, etc.. The only unexpected thing was the trailer home park right behind the hotel. Nothing strange or to be wary of, just not expected. Wish they had some vending machines (if […] they did, I didn't see them!) but it did the job for one night and I would stay again in a heartbeat. Mehr

Everything was great except the pool. There was no filter working and there was debris floating on the surface. The pool is shared with a trailer park. The hot tub was taped off - evidently not in working order. We got in the pool and got right out.

The pool area was very nice with plants, furniture and looked very nice. The included breakfast was under average. The room was okay, but kind of small for 3 people with suitcases. Only one single closet and we needed space for our suitcases. But it was nice and clean. Friendly staff. Very quick check-out. We like the area. Close to many things.
