I LOVE the location, the people running the motel, the beds are so clean and it is quiet here. The pines are beautiful and Flagstaff and Sedona are close by. The rates are affordable and everything I need is nearby yet not right on top of me. I plan on coming here about once a month and I love it! Thank you!

The hotel was easily located on route 17.Sam and his wife were great hosts and very helpful. We did enjoy are stay there. Ed and laurella

While this is certainly an older motel, for the price I really had no complaints whatsoever. The new owners were very friendly and went the extra mile to make sure we were happy with our stay and had everything we needed during our two night stay. It's a good location, pretty close to Flagstaff, and of course Munds Park is beautiful!

when a kitchenet is listed there should be some pots and silverware in the room or at least let guests know they need to bring their own stuff. Except for the mixup on the room and having to change rooms after 1 night the stay was plesant sorry I had to leave early due to my health.

If you want to get away from busy life, this is a perfect place to stay. Small but quaint and the front desk/manager is very friendly and helpful. Lots of place to hike and be outdoors. We would stay here again.

We needed a room so we had a place to sleep and keep our stuff. We spent most of our time out site-seeing and playing. The room was very clean and the people who run the motel are very nice. My only complaint was that the beds were very hard. There was also construction outside of the motel, but obviously this is not the motel's issue.

This place is filthy, stinks and all around miserable. Don't stay here!!!

An older room but the rooms were clean and comfortable. The woods were right out our backyard.

It is a simple and CHEAP place to stay to get out of the heat of Phoenix. If you stay here, go out hiking and enjoy the outdoors and use it as a place to sleep and shower. If you look at it that way it is a real bargain.

The motel was probably better than we were expecting based on some of the other reviews. The place is older but was still functional. The service was friendly and efficient. Munds Park is quite a drive to Sedona so that is the biggest drawback. If you are just looking for a cheap place off the freeway to stop for the night, this would be okay.

This motel was exactly what my family wanted. We had a little getaway to Flagstaff, and actually wanted to feel like we were in a more rural wooded area. This fit the bill! (Just 17 miles south of the city) All the hotels in Flagstaff proper seem to be cookie cutter chain places on the noisy strip...and frankly, who wants that if you're trying to get […] away from it all? Motel in the pines is NOT an upscale place with crystal chandeliers, fluffy towels and room service, so If you're a fussy type, I would skip it. The decor is a bit outdated here, and for us, that added to the charm! We cracked up about it, and loved every moment of our stay...especially the balcony, where you can look right into the woods; I can just smell those pines now! Our room was perfectly clean and everything was functional and in good repair. As other folks mentioned, the beds are firm; when we come back, we will bring our sleeping bags to lay on the beds for the cushiness we're used to at home, and we always bring our pillows when road-tripping. Was Very UNHAPPY with the motel's cleaness. First off upon walking into our room, we noticed the windows where left open-actually all the rooms windows and it was cold outside. After opening the door we assumed why, was the stench of old mildew type smell. The day we left I noticed a huge blood stain on the bottom mattress, A stain that looked to have […] flowed over the edge. Not something from a bloody nose but of something worse I would assume. If all you want is a bed and a shower in between hiking trips, this place is adequate. It's located in between Sedona and Flagstaff, which is convenient for seeing the beautiful scenery in both areas. It is extremely quiet, yet near the freeway. This is an old place with worn out furniture, hard beds, and no full time staff. We stayed for 3 nights, […] our room was not cleaned after the first night. No one is at the front desk, you have to call them and wait for them to show up. When we checked out, we called, they said, just leave the key. Not much in the way of hospitality. Mehr

it is a nice quiet place to stay away from the busy city of Flagstaff. I will be staying in the bigger rooms that have a small back porch.

not fancy at all, but clean and cool for Arizona. The owner's son was the person who checked us in and he was very nice and polite with a good sense of humor.

This was our 2nd stay at Motel in the Pines. It is incredibly inexpensive. It is not a modern motel but is clean and meets all our needs. The innkeeper is attentive and honest. Munds Park is a great base to explore Sedona, Flagstaff, etc. The only complaint I have is the beds are too firm...at least for me and my wife. Other than that it is very difficult […] to complain given the very low price. Drive south a couple miles to the nearby scenic overlook on I-17 and watch the sunset. Amazing. Mehr

well let's just say it a nice room ...and its not the princes or the legacy or the builtmore but nowadays the mer cost of hotels beeing so darn high or still not in our budge.it'a a nice place for maybe a little time alone or just to take the family for a breif over night stay..

We got to the hotel in the Pines and the hotel was empty they gave me a key on the second floor, I asked if I could get a room on the first floor he said NO. The room was freezing with the window open, It took over an hour to heat it. When we went to bed we found that the sheets and pillow's were used and obviously not changed. The bed's in our room […] was so hard My wife and I woke up hurting all over. We would not consider staying there again. The owners need to think about there renters more and replace the beds and change the sheets with clean ones at least. I do not believe anyone would go back a second time! Mehr

An ok hotel. Pulled sheets from other bed because other bed sheets weren't clean. Heating is nice and a great view. Good for stop and go place when nowhere else to go.

The management was friendly and welcoming. The room was basic and clean. No frills, but provides a place to sleep and shower, right off the interstate.

It was a nice place to stay. However the fire place did not work & I was disappointed about that. But we are going back next year. So over all I give it an A-" The people there are very nice & help you out if you need something. We wanted to be in the trees and that was about all that was true about this hotel. It is on the freeway so you can hear the traffic. It had old furniture and the bedding needs to be replaced/ it also smelled like animal/smoke from cigerettes. The place has potential if someone would renovate!

The hotel was basic for our needs we were traveling with pets so it was ok freindly starff working hard till late at night and seamed to have to do everything from rooms to maintenance but for the price it was ok not as close to sedona as would have liked but the area surrounding was attractive with lots of country walks to explore and close to flagstaff […] . The only hotel in the area. room dirty. They avertised a fireplace, but the flu was not clean and smoke all over the room. The family that ran the place was very nice. The place just needs some work. Was nice to bring the dog with us.

We had a room with a balcony overlooking the surrounding pine forest. Very nice - and relaxing! The room had new furnishings, was pleasant, spacious, and comfortable. This is an older property, as evidenced by the wall heater in the bathroom, and the bottle-cap opener mounted on the side of the cabinet. There is a home-style restaurant across the street […] with a bar. Location is 20 miles south of Flagstaff and 30 miles north of Camp Verde. A quaint littlerustic motel that is owner operated and convienent to some of northern arizonas unique scenery. IT wasn't as bad as the reviews we read, though it did need a new patio table and one of the bedspreads had a tear. the mattress was firm and the room was clean. We found it very comfortable and barely needed to use the AC and didn't need […] to have the heater on over night even though it got down in the low 40's. The motel was convienent to a nice pub/cafe and 2 convienece stores and close to the freeway. The view off our patio was of pine woods and a hillside. Mund's Park is situated in the Coconino National Forest, at 7000 ft. it is 17 miles south of Flagstaff, Snowbowl ski area, and a half an hour or so from Sedona. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from the rat race, breathe some clean air and relax. Mehr

The over all stay was good! The management was friendly, the room was clean, the price was reasonable, but the beds were very hard.

Close to I-17, easy drive to Flagstaff. Nothing outstanding at this motel, but considering the cost it is adequate.

Overall, we enjoyed our experience here. The room was beautiful, quite big with a nice fireplace,private balcony, coffee pot, fridge, and microwave. Housekeeping was thorogh and pleasant. The only downfalls: bed was very uncomfortable (like a rock) and the coffee is not very good. Otherwise, we would stay there again.
