Das Cheshire Cat Inn ist eine kleine Oase sehr zentral in Santa Barbara gelegen, aber dennoch ruhig und angenehm. Dieses Haus hat neben äußerst leckeren Frühstücksvarianten in vegetarischer Form auch ein sehr freundliches Personal. Das Cheshire Cat Inn ist mit einer Vielzahl an äußerst liebevollen Details ausgestattet und gefällt einem auf Anhieb. Wir haben in einem Cottage mit 2 Schlafzimmern und Kamin gewohnt; witzig war auch der mimi Jacuzzi-Pool auf der Terrasse. Ein sehr empfehlenswertes Haus, wenn man Sinn für Detail und Charme im englischen Stil hat! We will come back, for sure!

Das Hotel ist sauber und hat alles was man braucht, aber die Zimmer sind schon sehr klein, selbst für Europäische Verhältnisse. Amerikaner würden das wohl als winzig betrachten. Wir haben zu dritt im Zimmer übernachtet (2 Doppelbetten) und mussten in der richtigen Reihenfolge ins Zimmer gehen, um uns überhaupt umdrehen zu können. Die Koffer unterzubringen war eine organisatorische Herausforderung. Aber ansonsten hat das Hotel alles was man braucht, WiFi, Parkplatz, verkehrsgünstige Lage (d.h. an einer Durchgangsstraße) und ein ordentliches angemessenes Frühstück. Wir würden allein oder zu zweit wiederkommen, zu dritt nicht mehr.

Santa Barbara ist eine beschauliche Luxusmeile so richtig auf dem amarican way of life, vor allem der Silverbirds. Am Rande das im Ambiente dazu passende Hotel, an der Kreuzung mit Tankstelle vor der Nase, was aber uns (auch nicht akustisch) gestört hat.Küste, Strand, Naturschutzpfad -natürlich drive through- Häuser und Vorgärten sind sehenswert. Mehr Zeit hatten wir dann aber auch nicht.

Wir haben in diesem Hotel zum zweiten Mal gewohnt. 2009 über Silvester und 2011 über Weihnachten. Beide Male waren einfach zu sagen: großartig. Das Hotel, der Service, reichhaltiges Frühstück, die Sauberkeit, die Freundlichkeit und Hilfbereitschaft des Personals waren hervorragend. Jederzeit würden wir in Santa Barbara wieder ins Lavender Inn ziehen. Besonders angenehm und gemütlich war es zur "Happy Hour" Zeit. Am Kamin gab es Wein, Käse und Knabbergebäck - Milch und Kekse.
Lage
Best Western Plus Carpinteria Inn in Carpinteria befindet sich in Strandnähe sowie in der Nähe der folgenden Sehenswürdigkeit: Carpinteria State Beach. Zu den weiteren Sehenswürdigkeiten der Region gehören: Presidio Santa Barbara und Santa Barbara County Courthouse.

"OK für die Lage und den Preis"
Zimmer sind in Ordnung. Das Hotel ist für die Gegend um Santa Barbara vom Preis ok. Es liegt zentral, ca. 1 km vom Strand und dem Ort weg, aber direkt am Highway. Wer keine Ohrstöpsel bei hat, sollte lieber woanders buchen. Wer Wert auf ein Pool legt ist auch falsch. Das war etwas größer als eine Badewanne.

Sehr schönes Hotel im spanischen Stil. Nur schade, dass es zu allen Seiten hin von Straßen umzingelt ist. Wir vermissten ein im Hotelpreis enthantenes Frühstück, was sonstige Motels haben. Sehr gut ausgestattete Zimmer. Gutes Restaurant. Schöne gepflegte Gartenbeete und Innengarten mit Brunnen. Ca. 5 Autominuten zum sehr tollen, breiten Sandstrand wo […] mehrmals täglich Delphine und Seerobben in Strandnähe zu beobachten sind. Würden das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen. Mehr
Hotel liegt direkt an der Autobahn, daher Zimmer sehr laut.
"Vorort von Santa Barbara"
Das Hotel liegt sehr verkehrsgünstig direkt am Freeway und an einer Bahnlinie, trotzdem ist es im Zimmer nicht laut. Nach Santa Barbara sind es ca. 10 Minuten mit dem Auto, Carpinteria selbst bietet nicht sehr viel, aber einen schönen Strand. Direkt gegenüber ist ein Carls Jr. Imbiss, wenn man nicht ins Hotelrestaurent, welches im 3. Stock ist, möchte. Im […] Zimmer befindet sich ein Kühlschrank und ein Balon, der aber den ganzen Gang entlang geht und nicht jedes Zimmer einzeln abgetrennt ist. Der Pool ist gut geheitzt, der Whirlpool (SPA) ist aber sehr klein. Es gibt einen kostenlosen öffentlichen Computer mit Internetzugang. Insgesamt ein zufriedenstellendes otel. Mehr

"I like this hotel"
I travel very frequently and this hotel is perfect for me. It is not directly on the beach so do not expect that. However, it has a beautiful courtyard and many rooms offer comfortable balconies to relax on. Very peaceful. Also it has a restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner. Convenient. Staff is very nice and room prices are generally good value […] but prices do fluctuate for day of week or month (just like all other hotels). Mehr

Everyone was great and friendly. Food at the restaurant was horrible but service was very friendly and helpful. Room had a fridge, next time I will bring my own food. When I am in town again for business I will stay here again.

"Best Western = BEST HOTEL"
Loved this hotel. Location was BEAUTIFUL. Hotel was BEAUTIFUL. I have already recommended this place to many. My only complaint of the whole entire venture was that the bed looked amazingly comfy and felt it when i first lied down but i did wake up the next morning with some slight back pain. Otherwise this place was amazing, staff was quite friendly […] and I would still come back here again and again and again. Mehr
When we got to the hotel at 4 p.m. they told us that the room was not ready for us. We waited about 10 minutes and they were able to provide us with a room. Hotel was clean. Great value for the money. Really only thing lacking was the free continental breakfast. This was at the Best Western in Carpinteria.
This is the third time we have stayed at this motel. Very convinient location. Very clean. Very enjoyable. We will stay again.
The Motel was fine, but the staff service in the restaurant was very poor. Not particularly friendly, although the quality of the food was good.

"Nice comfortable hotel--just avoid the restaurant."
We stopped for one night in Carpinteria on our way up to the Central Coast. The location was very convenient and the room was clean and comfortable. The only negative about the property was a horrible experience with their restaurant. We ended up waiting for almost an hour for our food to be served after ordering. The waitress came by one time to updatate […] us on the status or our order, but then we heard nothing after that. When I finally did get up to question them about our food, the said that they were swamped with room service orders. No apologies, nothing. They should have offered us a free drink or something but they never did. We ended up leaving and having a hamburger at Carls Jr. across the street. Mehr

"Lovely area"
The motel was right off the freeway, so it was very easy to find and access. It had a lovely courtyard and a fun bar, jacuzzi and pool area. It was very near to a wonderful beach town with restaurants, cafe's, shops and mostly, the beach. It was comfortable, well priced and convenient. We wish we could have stayed an extra night!

Hotel is located near Santa Barbara and much cheaper than the ones there. Hotel is currently doing some renovations, which causes some inconvenience (no functioning ice machine on 3rd or 2nd floors). Overall the stay here was ok. Would recommend to families.

"Best Western Carpinteria- paper thin walls"
WALLS ARE PAPER THIN. BOTH OF US HARDLY GOT ANY SLEEP BECAUSE THE PEOPLE ON OUR HALLWAY WERE COMING AND GOING UNTIL AFTER MIDNIGHT, AND THEIR DOOR KEPT SLAMMING. WE COULD HEAR THEM TALKING ALL NIGHT. Hotel service, fine. We didn't use any services, really. Pool: tiny (we couldn't even for swimming because there were two kids in there, and that was […] all there was space for). "Carpinteria Best Western- Great Value"
I found the hotel to be very clean, good amenities, and close enough to places to go and see. The only negative comment I could think of is that the freeway is right next to it and you could hear the traffic if your room is on that side of the hotel. I will definitely stay there again as it is affordable for the quality.

Noisy pipe system, beds not all that comfortable, reasonably quiet
"Best Western Plus.."
We are still wondering what the "Plus" meant. The bathrooms were old and wall paper was coming off. Tiles were missing and highly overrated. Staff was pleasant enough and Jacuzzi was barely large enough to be called a Jacuzzi. The restaurant upstairs brought us our "Expensive Dinner" and my food was cold. They took my meal off, but never again.

"A Pleasant Surprise"
This is a very lovely hotel. It is a great place to stay when you are traveling South. We even had time to roam around the pier in Santa Barbara. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks!

The ideal place to stay if your not camping in carpinteria. Very very nice and great price. Nice bar and restaurant on the third floor. Do it!
Good value for price. Close to Santa Barbara which has very high rates. Very nice and quaint community. My only complaint would be that the restaurant was not very good.
"Not really a BW Plus, more like a poor Motel 6."
This hotel is used by students from a nearby graduate school so they get up VERY early -like 6am. It wouldn't be a problem except as soon as someone showers or uses the bathroom the pipes make a very loud noise and you can hear the creaking of footsteps. The decor is a little shabby for a BW Plus. Not sure what the plus means, may be the restaurant?- […] that was good but pricey. My TV was so old it wasn't even a Flat screen analog never mind a 42" LCD HD found in most BW's. Channel selection was poor too, 4 government channels out of 24 plus 1 education, no HBO. The cable connection was so bad that if I walked past it the TV went snowy. I stopped calling about it the 2nd time and fixed it myself. The bathroom was very dated with tile countertops, and THE WORSE toilet paper EVER. The hotel is "green" but that doesn't mean that the TP has to be cheap and nasty - I had to go and buy some as I was staying there a week. The maid left my balcony door open one day, and when I complained at the front desk, the young man couldn't care less and tried to explain away her actions. It would have been appropriate to tell me you were going to mention it to housekeeping. The road noise can be bad too so ask for a room near the front of the building. The balcony is nice but it connects to other rooms so no privacy. I've stayed here before so pay the extra money and get a courtyard room on the 3rd floor. The quality of the room is better, including the TP and TV but most of all it is QUIET. Sorry BW but you are not a plus - at least not the cheap rooms. Mehr

The low score for cleanliness for our room was due to peeling wall paper, broken tile in bathroom and aged fixtures. The manager assured me that all rooms would be renovated this year. "Great Cost Per Value"
I chose this place as somewhere near Santa Barbara to stay on my road trip from San Francisco to Temecula. I would definitely recommend this hotel. They have sort of an odd assortment of amenities. It's so pretty that it makes you feel like you're in a nicer hotel than you are. When I got there, I really wanted a drink after driving all day and the […] restaurant was closed, there was nothing in the room and from what I could tell they don't have 24 hour room service. I was a bit disappointed and then I remembered what I paid for the hotel. No, there aren't bell boys waiting to carry your bags and no they don't have 24 hour room service...but the bed is comfortable, the room is clean and it really is a pretty hotel. Also, the beach is not too far away and it's gorgeous! We walked to The Worker Bee nearby for breakfast and there were quite a few cute shops in the area. I will definitely be staying here again. "Bathroom cleanliness"
They need to ensure the bathrooms are cleaned more thoroughly! There was old urine in the grout at the base of the toilet (where it meets the floor). The sink was dingy (not scrubbed, just merely wiped out), and the rubber bath mat was grimy and stained.

It was a cute hotel, reminded me of Mexico, beautiful courtyard, the beds were very comfortable, and my kids loved it...say it was their favorite hotel we have stayed in!
