"Im Großen und Ganzen OK"
Für Leute die sich Dubuque ansehen möchten ist es ein gutes Hotel, sofern einem Chlorgeruch (welcher vom Schwimmbad kommt) nicht stört. Die Zimmer sind relativ geräumig, die Betten sind riesig und wirklich sehr bequem. Auf dem Zimmer steht eine Kaffeemaschine mit einigen Kaffeepads kostenlos zur Verfügung. Das Frühstück kann man im benachbarten Lokal […] Champs (Restaurant und Sport-Bar) zu sich nehmen, was wir allerdings nicht machten. Ein IHOP (International House of Pancake) ist in ca. 5 Minuten mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Weitere Coffeeshops sind ebenfalls in der Nähe. Mehr
"Large comfortable room - easy to get work done"
I was pleasently surprised at the size of the room. It had a large desk, comfortable chair, and a couch. I was able to relax at night and be very productive during the day. The stay was very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I will definitely stay again.

Granted it was a holiday weekend, but we were there to relax and spend some quality time together and there were kids running up and down the hallway, knocking on doors. We could not even enjoy the pool or hot tub area with kids in the hot tub and the running and jumping in the pool. It was not a real peacefull atmosphere during the day, but after nine […] o'clock at night then things quieted down. The air conditioner did not work that well and our windows did not have screens on them. Mehr

I have family in Dubuque so have tried several places in the Dubuque area. I've now found the perfect place to stay. The room was comfortable, clean and roomy. And the staff there are very friendly and helpful, from the front desk, to the restaurant and housekeeping as well. Plus they have pet friendly rooms available, and a great place, away from […] busy traffic, where your four-legged family member can stretch and play. Very pleasant stay. Attended a wedding held there - food was excellent and decor very well done. Room was clean and comfortable although the temperature control knob was stripped so unable to change temperature in room. Staff was friendly and accommodating at all times. "Ok"
This hotel stay was ok. Pictures are always deceiving, which is disappointing. Do not stay in the portion of the hotel that says "pool view". You are literally in the pool area and it is loud. I'd stay there again if funds were tight.
"Good, not Wonderful"
The Best Western Dubuque overall was adequate, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel does seem to need some overall cleaning , the pool was cloudy, breakfast was ok, I wish they started earlier than 6:30 am though, that's kind of late for people that need to get an early start. The staff were helpful and friendly.

"Nice pool area, but old hotel"
We just arrived from our stay at Drury Inn in downtown St. Louis, and this hotel was not nearly as nice as that. The pool area was very nice with a large pool enclosed in a sunroom along with a pool table, 2 ping-pong tables, and a hot tub. Unfrotunately, our room smelled of smoke eventhough it is a non-smoking room. The hotel itself is quite old and […] the elevator sounded like it was going to fall apart. It was our least favorite hotel on our trip which included 4 different hotels. The rooms were also a bit dirty, old and dated. I wouldn't stay there again if we visited the Dubuque area. Mehr

The enclosed pool and activity area are a welcoming oasis for families and couples to socialize during the long Midwestern winter months. Also close to restaurants and shopping. The hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful. We enjoyed our staf and would recommend it to others.
We stayed in this hotel due to a college bowling tournament in the bowling alley at the casino. It was very easy to get on the main roads. Close to casino, shopping. There is a Champs Resturant next to the hotel. Gets very busy at night. Front desk was very helpful. We did request a poolside room. These rooms will hear noise until the pool closes at […] 11:00. If you are an earlier to bed person do not pick these rooms. The showers in the rooms get warm water not hot. We would stay here again if in the area. Mehr

We weren't expecting more than just an average room, but we got a lot more than that. The room was large and had a kitchen it was really nice and very clean. We felt very relaxed.

We stayed on the 2nd floor overlooking the indoor pool complex. Average size pool and whirlpool. Really neat setup with an island-style cabana with a flat screen TV (no bar service though. "convenient but not comfy"
The room was a nice size and right on the main road in Dubuque. However, my sister spilled some soda on the sheet and housekeeping just made the bed over the spill. Getting extra towels was a problem. Lastly, the thermostat in the room was impossible to operate and the room was way too warm and we could not get help with that either.

We found the staff to be very friendly and efficent! The rooms were well kept and was well supplied. We were really impressed with our complimentry breakfast at the Champs resturant. Would we stay there again.??? Yes in a heart beat.

Though the hotel allows smoking in the rooms for an additional charge, we asked for a non-smoking room and realized once we got to our room that people had smoked in it before. EVERYTHING smelled like smoke. If you're not a smoker, this is a total bummer and for us, it affected our sinuses even after leaving from our 2-night stay. We didn't put up a […] fuss since we weren't staying for very long, but I will say friends staying in other rooms said their room was fine - no smoke-smell. We washed everything (even unworn items) when we got home b/c the smell had penetrated everything we brought. Even my make-up bag and brushes had to be thoroughly aired-out. Other than that, the pool-area, game room and attached restaurant was nice to have. Bed was comfortable. Elevator is strangely small. There are shopping centers nearby and several other nice conveniences. If you're a smoker...def. a good place to stay. If you're not a smoker...you may get a smokey room, so be prepared. Mehr
