"Crown Plaza in Lafayette, LA"
Poor service... Called for new tv remote as ours did not work. No one showed up... Next morning starting at 10 am... House keeping went around knocking on doors wanting to know when we were checking out... I Commented that checkout was at 1200 noon. Unprofessional. Upon leaving mgmt. Asked about my stay and I explained this to them... As appalled as […] they were... They made no offer to make it right Persae'. I won't be going back. Mehr

"Have stayed at better places in Lafayette."
Had to call security the first night due to very noisy guests in the next room. Hotel staff very quick to take of the problem. Room was dusty, found grease on night stand, and bedspread was stained. Ordered an omelet from their menu, which was returned. Looked like it was cooked in old grease that the omelet was brown and greasy, hash browns were dry, […] had been taken from the buffet that had been sitting out for a while. We were gone all day and returned to a room that had not been cleaned...no fresh towels. Called to complain and get clean towels. Not happy at all, but were able to get compensated for a night's stay, stayed two nights. Would not recommend. Mehr
"Crowne Plaza Lafayette- Disgusting"
Hotel Room was moldy and damp, smelled of cigarette smoke, No Hot Water on 6th floor regardless of time, and A/C unit froze up consistently not allowing the room to cool. When explaining to hotel staff of the problem, they stated that they would comp me on my next stay, but could not accommodate me during my visit. I will never come back to this hotel, […] or recommend this hotel to anyone. Mehr
"JUST LIKE HOME"
I ENJOYED MY STAY DUE TO THE FRIENDLY WORKERS. IT WAS JUST LIKE HOME. I WASNT ABLE TO ENJOY BREAKFAST. WISHED IT WOULD HAVE CLOSED A LITTLE LATER. THEY RESPECTED MY PRIVACY AND MADE SURE WE HAD EVERYTHING I NEEDED. I GIVE THIS HOTEL FIVE STARS. THANK YOU
"Old Hotel Acadiana-now Hol Inn Crowne Plaza"
3 nights there. Location was great, nice lobby. Good restaurant-nice ambiance, good cajun food, good service. Nice greeting at arrival - and then each time we saw William afterwards.Comp cookies and bottled water at front desk. Bit of an attitude from Chris at front desk - kept us on hold during a request for a phone book. In a call back to him about […] the long hold time, he let us know that he was busy at the front desk (hmmm...less than 10 cars in parking lot...what happens where there are 100?) and then the requested phone book was never delivered. No hair dryer, phone book, only 2 sets of towels in the room. Kleenex box looked like it had been emersed in water AEB bottom of box that had adhered to the counter top AND the green mold growing on the other tissues within the box...Requests for new kleenex, dryer, towels were met relatively quickly. A better job at vacuuming in the corners was needed. Expensive meals! Plate of etouffee, glass of wine, and mandatory 20% tip was the same price paid for a steak elsewhere the day after. They were out of some items in the restaurant (despite the aforementioned low occupancy rate). Pool area needed some cleaning/updating - although the freezing weather was not condusive to swimming. All in all - we will stay again. Cleaner than the Hilton (which is becoming tired, worn out, and more expensive). Bedding was very comfortable. Room was large. Great place for meetings. "Hotel Needs Work but TOP RATE Staff!"
The staff was excellent! Could not have asked for a better staff. The hotel itself was okay. It was clear to see that this was a quicky remodel of a 'lesser quality' of hotel. The hotel lobby and downstairs was nice. Attention was paid to details...but upstairs in the rooms, a different story. Walls were cracked, toilet was cracked, mold on the tank […] as well as in the bowl. Bathroom was minuscule. No way to dress in there with the door closed. My 6'6" husband had difficulty sitting on the toilet with the door closed! The room furnishings were up-to-date and nice -- linen, flat screen TV, etc. but again, attention to detail. The room needed dusting. The paint contractor did not do a good job -- walls were not prepared before painting, paint ran on some walls, and lots on trim. Carpet was not anchored or stretched correctly so it 'walked' under your feet with foot snagging wrinkles in it. Looks like the carpet may have been laid over pre-existing carpet. Air conditioning was noisy but worked well. Could have used hotter water as well. Would not want the contractors responsible for this re-model to do ANYTHING in my house! Disappointed that, for the cost and condition of the hotel, no continental breakfast. However, we did get a quiet stay which is what we were after. I would recommend to friends with the understanding that it is a decent hotel but not top notch. Mehr

Room air conditioner was noisy and did not keep us cool in the middle of the night.. It seemed to be too cold or too hot. Hotel was nice and clean, but not what I would rate as a 3 1/2 star hotel.

"Crowne Royal"
The hotel was fine. The check in was quick and the desk personnel were friendly. The room was nice, but the toilet ran every time someone else either flushed or showered. Not a real problem but a waste of water.
"Overvalued"
This was a relatively nice property; however, the bathroom was extremely small and poorly designed. The door would not open all the way because it bumped the toilet. Therefore; we had 4 people trying to share this bathroom and the door wouldn't even open enough for us to get around the room. Very poor design for a 4 star hotel.
"Needs Improvement"
The A/C in my room didn't work very well, and the bathroom sink backed up and held water until the next morning. The hallways felt like saunas and smelled musty. There were continual problems with the A/C in the conference rooms. The hotel had a convenient location, but there was no traffic light or easy exit and entry in this very high traffic area.
