There is NO service at all. Run down rooms, extremely old bathroom. Tje worst breakfast we ever experienced, self service with lots of plastic wastage. Only the location is good.

Das Hotel bietet Komfort ist aber sehr laut. Nebenan ist eine Garage von der aus sehr viel Lärm kommt und im Hotel sind auch ständig irgendwelche Motoren am laufen. Das Hotelteam ist recht nett. Lage und Hotel wunderbar, mit guter Anbindung an oeffentliche Verkehrsmittel (Station back bay direkt anliegend!; orange line (sehr empfehlenswert) und commuter rail (weniger empfehlenswert)). Der Blick aus dem Hotelfenster allerdings fiel auf eine grosze nicht sehr ansehnliche 4-stoeckige Parkgarage.

Das Hotel & Conference Center John Hancock in Boston liegt direkt an der U-Bahn-Station Back Bay, das Viertel ist ziemmlich belebt und bietet zahlreiche Pubs und Restaurants. Nix tolles, aber für ein Hotel in einer US-Großstadt durchaus ok. Frühstück in Ordnung (Bagel, Toast, Muffins, "Danish", Cereals - und Kaffee).

Wir waren mit vier Personen in zwei Doppelzimmern für zwei Nächte während einer Rundreise in diesem Hotel. Das Hotel haben wir an Hand der Bewertung und des Preises ausgewählt. Die Lage des Hotels war für unsere Zwecke in Ordnung. Das Personal an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer waren jedoch sehr klein und wirkten "abgewohnt". […] Besonders im Bad hätten die eine oder andere Stelle mal ausgebessert gehört. Außerdem ließ sich nur in einem Zimmer das Fenster öffnen. Das war aber leider in geschlossenem Zustand so undicht, dass es unangenehm zog. (Mai, Außentemperatur ca. 14 °C). In dieser Angelegenheit konnte oder wollte man uns jedoch leider nicht helfen. WiFi war kostenlos verfügbar. Frühstück für USA-Verhältnisse OK. Für Reisende mit Mietwagen: Im Parkhaus gegenüber gibts einen vergünstigten Preis für Hotelgäste. 27$/Tag. Empfehlenswert, gerade bei Regenwetter: Boston Old Trolley Tour für 37,80$ pro Person. Fazit: Für zwei Übernachtungen zu dem Preis war es NOCH OK. Würde aber beim nächsten Mal ein anderes Hotel auswählen. Mehr

Das Hotel liegt äußerst gut, man kann auch zu Fuss durch den Common in die "City".In der Nähe auch eine riesige shopping-mall, man könnte ja etwas vergessen haben.Unsere Zimmer waren leider etwas klein, auf der gleichen Etage gab´s auch größere; aber man ist ja die meistes Zeit unterwegs.

Gute Zentrale Lage, von diesem Hotel aus kann man Boston sehr gut zu Fuss erkunden. Etwas verwohnte Zimmer aber durchaus empfehlenswert. Gern wieder!

Das Hotel ist zwar nicht mehr das neuste (älterer Bau mit älteren Zimmern), jedoch hat es grosse Zimmer, freundliches Personal und sowohl Bad wie auch Zimmer sind sauber. Die Lage ist perfekt, nur 100m bis zur nächsten U-Bahn Station welche direkt ins Zentrum führt.

Thankfully we weren't planning to spend much time at the hotel other than to sleep. The bathroom was moldy and mildewy and the floor was gross. The carpet was stained and the walls needed fresh paint. Over the weekend I don't think the housekeeper did much besides empty the trash and take the tip. We didn't get fresh towels. The woman at the desk references […] "limited housekeeping" on weekends, but I didn't see that in any of the literature. Mehr

If you are looking for a Marriot experience, you will not get it. The hotel was built a long time ago. It has historical kick to it, which may be a turn off for some people. But given it has a long history, update has been made and maintained decent. It was very quite (stayed on the 7th floor) and felt it had very good wall insulation. Small room, but by myself so the fact I had a queen room, which was about 15ft by 12ft, so not spacious, if there are two of you, one person gets about a 9 inch walkway to get into bed. TV was old, could do with flat screens tbh. Installing a few extra wifi hubs wouldn't go amiss, as many have commentated connectivity was a bit random. The hotel is kind of old but in good condition. Rooms are small but comfortable. Breakfast was good enough to start up our day. Loved the location, we wanted to visit Boston's historic sites and this Hotel is near by all of them.

The hotel is located in a very convenient location to some of the best places to visit while in Boston. The hotel is an older building with smaller rooms, but the room was comfortable and had everything a hotel room should have for convenience. I stayed in that hotel for over a week. I choose it mainly because of the price, breakfast and free internet access. The hotel is located in the middle of Boston, right next to John Hancock tower 100 meters from the metro station. Hotel is really clean, but it doesn’t help when you compare to how worn everything is. You can smell stall air, the doors […] are painted several time, floor mats lost all of their colours. In my room doors to the bathroom didn’t close at all. Luckily I was staying alone, so it wasn’t to big cumbersome. Additionally you couldn’t open a window, the air control was so loud that you had to make tough choices. Plus there is no light in the room, besides lamps on the table, which doesn’t give too much light after all. Breakfast is very poor even for American standards. One muffin, couple of buns and tea/coffee/juice. Internet in the room was working for couple of days, and then it stopped. However there is all the time internet access in the lobby. If you going to stay there for a night or two it is a reasonable choice, but for longer stay I would choose a different place. And don’t get me wrong if that is bad. Its just that I get used to a little bit higher standard during my stay. Mehr

The hotel is old but is very well kept, clean and staff very very friendly and it is a very good location, close to subway, and places to eat. Would stay there again and would recommend it for tourists

The reviews gave me a bit of trepidation but I found them to be ill founded. The property is hidden because the sign board is quite small (it is next door to the YWCA). The interior is a little dated but my room was large and comfortable. They could update the bathroom fixtures and paint some but overall it was clean, in good condition and quiet. Only […] one of the two elevators worked the four days I was there and that was inconvenient. Also, the wi-fi did not work in my room.The Continental breakfast is mediocre. The location could not have been better. Very near the Copley T stop. (this is the Back Bay part of Boston). It is a leisurely 10 minute walk to Symphony Hall. The parking garage was across the street, no valet, very few people on site to help you, and there was not a soul in site at 11pm on a weeknight- a bit scary. I asked for security to come out and meet me at the hotel, they said they didn't do that. It was really run-down and tattered but clean.

Chose it for its location. The location is the only thing I ended up satisfied with. As I entered I could tell I immediately that I was not at a quality establishment. It had the air of a hostel instead of a hotel. One elevator was under "routine maintenance" for my entire 4-day stay. The worst part was when I entered my room. It smelled -- bad. Perhaps […] it was mold, I don't know, but I think the rugs were installed more than 20 years ago. The carpet was all frayed where it met the bathroom threshold. All of the fixtures were even older. The room was fine. The bed was reasonably comfortable. It was just a place to sleep for the most part. Since the hotel is old there were parts of the bathroom that looked like they could use a better scrubbing but otherwise I was fine with the hotel. The location was the most important thing about it.

This is the 3rd time in last 10 years I have stayed at this hotel and first since name change. In intervening time have stayed at various other Boston hotels. This is excellent in terms of location and if you are looking for buffet breakfast, free computer use and don't mind the general scruffiness of the rooms then it is good. But there are much better […] hotels available for the same cost if you search for deals. Just to correct a couple of points on expedia, there are no in room safes but you can use safe deposit box at reception, the windows no longer open having been screwed down, (which was a shame as the air conditioning circulates everything including the cigarette smoke from another room even though hotel is no smoking) and there are no longer laundry facilities unless you want clothes sent out. There used to be washer/dryer available which was a real plus if staying for a week but these have now gone ~ bad move. Staff not a helpful or friendly as they used to be but no one is actually rude they just don't go teh extra mile. If you get a really good deal then hotel can't be beaten on location but otherwise go for a different hotel. This was my third and final stay. Mehr

What a great trip. Hotel was exactly what I expected based on description and other reviews. I didn't go to Boston to sit in my hotel. I went to see the wonderful historical sights and the great food. This hotels location is PERFECT. Copley Square is in the best part of Boston. What a great deal this hotel was. I stayed 4 nights and it was great.

This is an old school hotel. I stress the old. It has not been kept up at all. A simple paint job would work wonders. When I checked in I asked for the internet code and the woman said "We can't guarantee internet connections in the room." I asked "Then why do you a What You Pay Fordvertise that you do?" When I arrived at the hotel, the staff were very courteous and helpful. I was there on business and they gave me very detailed suggestions on how to get to my location. I arrived by train and the hotel was in walking distance of the amtrak station. Upon entering my room, I was very disappointed int he quality of the room.
