Schon etwas älteres Hotel, aber sauber,große Zimmer, bequeme Betten, super Lage, direkt am Boardwalk, Angestellte sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, Parken gratis - etwas eng, aber eigentlich kein Problem. Ein in die tage gekommenes Hotel. Es wird aber liebevoll gepflegt. Absolute Toplage am Strand.Die Gegend ist noch ok.Man kann auch abends noch rausgehen. Sehr schön ist auch die nähe zum Outletcenter The Walk.10 gehminuten. Preis Leitung stimmt.man kann natürlich kein 5 Sterne Hotel verlangen wenn man nur 3 Sterne zahlt.

Only there one night. Didnt get to use all the amenities. Only real negative was they didnt have anymore swipe cards to get in and out of garage or front door.

I must say that this was a good trip.At first i was skeptical about booking this hotel after reading all the negative reviews. But my girl said lets just go and have fun. The front desk person was excellent he recommended places we should go eat, places to shop and all the site seeing areas. i liked the fact that it was right on the boardwalk and near […] the arcade games and the mall. my only complaint was that i thouught it had a jacuzzi and it didn't but overall it was excellent stay for us and we would stay here again and reccommend this hotel to friends and family. The only thing I dislike was the $100 they took from your credit card for 2 weeks. That is ridiculous . All they year of traveling I never heard of that.

THIS HOTEL IS AMAZING!!! CAN NOT BEAT THE PRICE FOR THE LOCATION AND CONVENIENCES. STAFF IS WONDERFUL AND VERY ACCOMODATING. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I was told that I would have a balcony room with a jacuzzi in the room.

Beautiful comfortable suite. Smelled so badly of smoke. Hotel claims to not have smoking/non-smoking room. You can do whatever you want in any room. Also no late check out available. Hotel hallways and lobby and elevator are very dirty. Parking garage is a tight fit. No breakfast, but does have free coffee. Location is okay, right on the boardwalk. […] About a 5 minute walk to Ballys, 10 to Trump plaza, and a good 20 min to the Tropicana. Would definitely stay there again. Mehr

small 1 bedroom. bed was a twin and pull out couch uncomfortable. need security cards to get in and out and garage very small and gated. they keep you safe - from what? older place with run down furnishings. its basically a older time share. kitchen was nice with everything you need. bathroom was okay small jetted tub which i would not sit in. checkin […] was great and nice front desk people. on the boardwalk which is nice but a bad area i guess. After reading the 1 star reviews and the phony sounding 5 star reviews I was a bit regretful that I had booked the Renaissance hotel. However it really isn't that bad at all especially considering the price. Pros: great location next to the boardwalk and a ten minute walk to Ballys, Taj Mahal, Caeser's, etc. Great ocean view and fully stocked kitchen […] with kitchenware. Large rooms. Cons: slow creaky elevator, tiny parking lot, old small box like CRT TVs in rooms, saggy and uncomfortable beds. Overall great value for the money and wouldnt mind staying there again. Didn't notice and foul smells or bed bugs as described in past reviews. Mehr

We stay here often because of the convenience to the boardwalk, beach, shops and casinos. The rooms have a full kitchen which is great if you want to save money and cook or even if you just want to heat up leftovers. It's a timeshare, so you're not always guaranteed a particular room type. The economy has been tough so some of the projects the owners […] want to do have been put on hold. The carpet in the hallways really needs updating, but the room is always clean and comfortable. There is a garage with a car elevator to the third parking level. We've always parked on ground level but this time, it rained quite a bit during our stay and the garage has a tendency to flood. We took our car up to the third floor - yow! It was scary, but, you know what - it worked out fine. We may even use it again during the regular season! Not as bad as we thought. Everyone at the front desk is always friendly and accommodating. I can sum it up in one word: Terrible. I've stayed here once before and it was not nearly as bad. However the room this time was dingy, the furniture was stained, it was very musty, there was hair in the bathroom and I was afraid to walk around barefoot. Right away we tried to switch rooms and asked for the same room we had last time only to be told […] that there was nothing available. Trying to make the most of it, we went on about our day. The next night when we came back to the room, the hallway smelled like pot. Once we got into our room, the smell was overpowering. It was obviously coming through the vents. We called again to see if there was anything they could do. Again, there were no other rooms for us to switch to. The smell was horrible. We froze as we had to open up the sliding glass door (which got stuck very easily). The next morning I woke up to discover that I had pink eye. Never, never, never again will I stay here- even if it is free. Spend the extra money, and stay somewhere nicer. Sometimes, cheap isn't the way to go. Mehr

I have stayed here a few times. Overall I love the balcony, the amount of space, and the affordable pricing. My only complaint is that they have a very strict 12 noon checkout which is not convenient if you like to sleep in. In this city it is easy to stay up all night and it would be nice to have the option to check out at 3 or 4pm before the long […] drive back to New York. Mehr

Built mid century, this hotel could use a facelift. But the rooms are large and comfortable. The staff friendly. The bathroom was small and needed work but was functional. The cost makes it a good deal compared to the pricey shiny hotel/casinos. I would stay there again !!!

The room are nice and big. I like the stay and wil be coning back soon

Nice place to stay and perfect location to all the great sights, my only complain is the rugs in the building hallways are badly stained and dirty, also it will be nice to have in the room an iron and an ironing board for my shirts and pants! Otherwise the PERFECT place away from home.

At first sight it doesn't appear to be much of a hotel. Once you see how spacious and clean the apartment is you will be very please. We really enjoyed the view of the ocean from our patio. The boardwalk is a few feet away. The hotel front desk are so friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here on my next visit. I have stayed at other hotels closer […] to the casinos and have had to deal with ghetto trash. You will not have to deal with that here. This is really a home away from home. Mehr

this hotel is wonderful and has been for the pass 3 yrs. and i'll be back next year. so keep up the great work and what ever your doing to keep the employees happy and pleasant keep doing it and guest will keep coming.

I stayed there from Fri-Sun 8/5-7/2011. Overall 3.5 out of 5 Stars. It's all about the compromises you're willing to make. La Renaissance may not be a full-service Casino hotel, but I was more than pleased by what I did get: Steps from the beach boardwalk between Resorts & Bally's with a Dunkin Donuts right on the corner. Housekeeping comes around […] only twice a week rather than daily, but if all you need are some fresh towels or shampoo, the front desk was more than accommodating. By the way, every front desk shift from morning, afternoon and late night was always friendly and helpful. The lobby and hallway carpeting (I was on the 5th flr) was a bit outdated, but the 1 bedroom was roomy, sunlit, clean with living room, kitchenette w/ microwave, stove, fridge, & utensils. The bed was a full-size rather than Queen, but it was comfy. Nice view of the boardwalk and twinkly night sky. the living room had a decent-sized flat screen TV, but the bedroom had a small 10-yr old boob tube. Security was excellent. One front lobby entrance with buzzer controlled by front desk. Garage had card key. Parking spots were a bit tight, but there were 3 levels to park on, so I always found a spot. The pool was a bit small, but good for a splash. The jacuzzi, across from the pool, was nicer and seated 6. There was also a wrap around deck which provided a nice view of the entire beachfront from Showboat to Caesars. Nice! There was a gameroom with pool table. You get the pool sticks from the front desk, but the felt surface was worn with snags. But hey, it was free. Fitness room consisted of a treadmill, which was a disappointed. I was hoping for at least a pec-deck or nautilus machine. I suppose a workout could wait until after the trip. Internet available only in the lobby. No b'fast or room service, but there were so many food choices along the boardwalk or in one of the nearby casinos, so not that big a deal. The location is great - right on the boardwalk between Resorts and Ballys. Go up the ramp, cross the boardwalk, down the steps and you're at the beach. So convenient. The parking garage is included in the price (which is very inexpensive). Love the full kitchen with everything from pots and pans to utensils. What's the down-side? Well, La Renaissance […] is a time-share hotel. That means they can't guarantee you an oceanfront or ocean view room. I really don't like the uncertainty and possibility of facing the back parking lot. Ok, the oceanfront overlooks the nasty roofs of the boardwalk storefronts, but you still have a great view of the ocean. It's always musky smelling because smoking in the room is allowed. They are trying to petition owner's for a no-smoking policy. They need 80% to change the current policy. On check in/check out days, bell carts are at a premium and elevators are slow. The "fitness area" has only a few pieces of equipment that don't work. The indoor pool is small and stuffy, but a welcome feature to do water aerobics. The decor could use some updating. The staff is mostly friendly. All in all, for the price, this hotel works for us and we'll stay there again next time. Mehr

Location was good, right on boardwalk. Room was fairly clean, spacious, entire building did smell like tobacco smoke but we expected this. Scarey part was the garage and car elevator. Garage has roughly 30 spaces on 3 levels which are accessed by a car elevator. This would have been nifty except for the paper I signed which stated that the garage floods […] and if it is flooded we would not be able to get the vehicle out. It was recommended to us thatbwe go to $10 parking across the street if rain threatened. Also important to note is that the garage spaces are meant for sedans, not small SUVs or larger--despite seeing a larger pick up truck parked across 2 spaces. Overall nice trip. Mehr

To be honest with you, the sleep out sofa was very unconfortable, it was like sleeping on metal. the other bed in the other room was stiff as a rock, also the mattress for the pullout was not even material, it was like styrophome . the bathroom sink was small , no place to put anything, i was overlooking the air conditioning. the air conditioning kept […] shutting off and blowing cold air every 15 minutes, it was not on constant. overall im very dissapointed Mehr

we found bed bugs in the master bedroom, and got upgrade to the penhouse suite. we'll never stay there again. service was great.

Visit La Renaissance if you want french style comfort and gorgeous european type ocean views.

I usually stay at Atlantic Palace but this year I stood here. Matt at the front desk was wonderful! The room was great with a balcony overlooking the water. The only negatives was the tub jets and the jets in the hot tub did not work. I will stay here again.

This hotel was awesome! Perfect location and really clean. Would ABSOLUTELY stay there again!!!

If you are on a budget I would recommend this hotel. But if you have the money stay elsewhere.

Unpretentious and no frills insofar as basics and amenities go, but more than adequate for a vacation. The size (not too many floors high) and location of the hotel means that the boardwalk and morning coffee and morning munchies are just a minute to 90 seconds away. At first, I did not appreciate the limited access--one must be "buzzed" in or have […] a pass key to enter the building--but then I enjoyed the extra feeling of security that it gave me. The exterior and garage leave much to be desired. My wife and I almost turned around and didn't go in initially bc we checked in after dark and the hotel les than secure. The front lobby has a lock and garage has a lock needed for accessmso security is there but no guard at the garage so someone can slip in easily between cars. The hallway carpets were […] soiled bc of beachgoers. The room however was pleasantly clean with an excellent view of the ocean. Bathroom was tidy. Alarm clock didn't work but TV and safe worked fine. Didn't get a chance to cook but everything looked functional. Overall good if your looking for a bargain next to the ocean or boardwalk. We booked the LaRenaissance for one night to celebrate our youngest daughter's 21st birthday. Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. Small but definately served the purpose. Front desk clerk was very pleasant. Had a balcony off the living room looking to the ocean. Below our balcony though was the roof tops to the stores below which were directly on the boardwalk. […] But looking past that was the ocean, it's waves and some surfers too. It really was fine. I love looking at the ocean so it was easy for me to get past the store roof tops. Hotel entrance is on Kentucky Ave which is a side street leading right to the boardwalk so it was very convenient. Walked right up the sidewalk onto the boardwalk. Casino's are all in short walking distance from hotel. Hotel only allows one car in the parking garage and it must be a small car because the garage area is very small. Our daughter parked in the garage because her car is the tiniest, but the rest of us had to park in the paid parking lot right across the street. Parking lot was fine and we didn't have any problems. For one or two nights this hotel works fine. An entire week in Atlantic City is not worth it since their beach isn't nicely kept. But to have a place to stay, and less expensive than staying at the casinos, but still close to them all and on the boardwalk, this hotel works just fine. Mehr

The parking spaces were too little and there was an elevaor to move your car from level to level, but if someone forgot to close the elevator door, you had to go and do this to get it to work.

Parking was limited in the hotel, hard to find a spot. Wifi was down. Hallways/rooms smelled of ciggs and marijuana, couldn't even breathe.. Rooms were falling apart, ie shower wallpaper falling off. For the amount we paid, was not worth staying here. Better off staying somewhere else or staying at a hotel a bit further from here and just driving or […] taking a taxi in. Mehr

This hotel was a grate place to stay in, but the employees leave too early and if you do not follow the hotel rules you have to pay for everything, example there is only one security card givien to each room and if you do not have it at a certain time and they have to let you in, it will cost you 75 dollars.

The Room was nice. Clean. TV's and furnishings were pretty dated and no decent TV channels to watch - no movie channels. The Hotel itself, like the hallways, lobby, were a bit scary and not very clean. Parking was a little weird also if, like us, you have to put your car on elevator. But if you can't afford the Casino prices, like me, this place […] suffices. Mehr

There are only smoking rooms here. Although kitchen area and bathroom was updated, the room had much to be desired. It stunk of smoke and the linens and furniture were as old as the building. THe room stunk like smoke very hard to get past that.

We got exactly what we paid for. We were down there for a Mummer's event and just looking for something that accommodated 6 people for the weekend. The suite was perfect and price was perfect considering we really just were looking for a place to shower and rest our heads at the end of the night. Everything was nice and clean. The only complaint I really […] have about the room itself is that it smelled like a nursing home. The only complaint I have about the hotel in general is the minimal, tight parking spaces.
