La Quinta Inn San Diego Old Town - Airport - San Diego

The hotel has outdoor entrances for the room. This makes it feel more like a motel than a hotel. The airport shuttle started at 6am, so I has to take a taxi for my 7am flight. Other than that, it is a good low-cost hotel.

Older hotel, but comfortably updated. Hotel staff was outstanding. Very helpful and friendly. We were in town for a Marine graduation, and most of hotel was occupied by other Marine families. Excellent location within EASY walking distance of Old Town.

No where near the conveniences of others in the neighborhood; money saver only. Will not stay again...

But parking space were very small. Very hard to get out of the car if you are lucky to squeez even your small / compact car in the parking spot.

We needed something close to the airport for an early flight in the morning. Management arranged a car service which was right on time. Only $16 including tip to the airport. Clean, Quite will stay again if in the area.

This hotel is within walking distance to Old Town. But the hotel is starting to show it's age. We were placed on a ground floor room next to the ice machine and hardly slept because of people filling their ice buckets up all during the night. Kind of pricey for an aging hotel.

This place is OLD. Just know that before booking. The staff was very nice. The free breakfast in the morning was a bonus. The location was perfect for the reason I was there (MCRD Grad) and you can stroll over to Old Town San Diego and leave your car parked. They have a garage under their hotel, steep driveway down/up - not bad, but roof is low, so […] some high SUV type vehicles and/or those with luggage coffins might not make it in. The hot water went out in part of the place while I was there, and they were letting those folks use other rooms for showers. (Again old place, but nice staff!) The hotel is easy to miss the first time you drive by, due to small street sign. They face Hiway 5, so if your room is on that side there might be hiway noise? not sure. Our room was at the back next to the elevator - which we couldn't hear, so that was ok - but we could hear the people/luggage going into and out of it however. I don't think I would stay here again. I would pay a bit more and stay at a newer hotel in the area. Mehr

over all the hotel was wonderful. The staff was excellent helping find locations and areas to visit ,shoping malls. couple of slight problems are the rooms facing the west side of the hotel are noisy from the freeway traffic. and the north exit door needs to be adjusted. the door slams very hard when people exit .

Nice, clean room and airport shuttle was a plus

The Hotel was perfectly located , everything great and the main reason we chose the hotel because it was pet friendly and that it was . we brought our 5.lb terrier and she was a comfortable as if she was at home as well.The only thing is that i wish the breakfast was till 10 am instead of 9 am . It is until 10 only on Sat and Sunday

Even after checking in to our initial room, when we requested, the friendly concierge upgraded our room from a single queen to a larger 2-bed room for only a few dollars more. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning, although a bit loud, quickly cooled the room. The hotel was completely dog-friendly and they didn't charge a pet fee. The TV […] was snowy in the first room, but was perfectly fine in the 2nd room. Parking spaces are a little tight but at least they didn't charge for parking. We never made it to the continental breakfast, so we didn't get to try their waffles. Hotel is walking distance to Old Town. Hotel is close to the freeway, but we didn't notice the noise. Tbe refrigerator kept our drinks cool. The lights in the front of the hotel were off, so it was a little dark. Mehr

My room was very small; maybe it was one of the ones they reserve for those who book through facilitators hotel.com. It had no desk and was NOT convenient for working. Fine if you're just in for a night and not on business. Convenient location for Old Town. Nice neighborhood. I would recommend it to leisure travelers on a budget but NOT to business […] travelers or those who can afford the much nicer Marriott next door. the staff were friendly, helpful and polite. The place was conveniently located and close to transit station.

Not an enjoyable stay--parking spaces for people that have carriers uptop are to small. Someone sideswiped our car in the lot. Left a package in the room worth about $80 and was never found. Called and got bounced aroun to 3-4 people so am not sure it was even looked for, Disappointing stay

Exactly as we expected...small rooms but cute, clean, and comfortable. Not the Hyatt but then you aren't paying the same price as them either. Location is great, right off the freeway and within walking distance of Old Town. Would stay again.

perfect for a great family getaway , and evening great for couples...Good food spots , shops and history

The hotel is close to a major Transit Center, and during the Comic Con event, I could easily get to the Transit center and travel straight to the convention center with less hassel compared to driving your own vehicle. The hotel is also close by to shops and other popular location for tourist. Its not a five star hotel, remember that, but it gives you […] what you need, basically - a clean and comfortable room with great amenities. The pool was nice and alot of people who used it, as well as, for the spa. There is a washer and dryer onsite, but I didn't need it. They have update the TVs to the new LCD tvs, but no HD programming. My suggestion, if you bring a laptop, bring a HDMI cable to link your laptop to your computer. The ceilings where high, and if I wanted to, I could jump on the bed like I was 10 again. Mehr

Unless you are really hard up to save money this hotel is not a good choice, especially if you are using it for an airport stay, it is not that cloase to the airport. The shuttle service is terrible, I called when I got my bags and they told me 10 - 20 minutes, an hour later - still no shuttle, I ended up taking a cab ($20). Then I found out that the […] shuttle wasn't available until after 6:00 AM so I ended up having to cab it to the airport (early flight) another $20. The hotel is an old hotel that has been renovated, the renovations are nice, but the rooms are tiny, also the hotel is located right on a very busy street, so there is VERY LOUD traffic all night long, (I got next to no sleep because of this). It is about a four block walk to Old Town, that was about the only good thing about the place. One more think, the "free" internet service is free for about 5 minutes, then they charge for it, hardly what I would call "free". I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere. Mehr

When we arrived nobody in the reception desk; after 10 minutes and several people waiting, the receptionist arrived telling us she had some problems with one of the rooms upstairs. The parking in the basement is for small cars and if you arrived late in the evening you will be out of luck. The charge is $10.00 per day. They never got the TV to work in the room. We called twice and although they sent a guy he didn't do a thing. The front desk people were rude and refused to fix it

This hotel has tiny rooms - probably smaller than the room we had in Paris. The location is outstanding however - just two blocks from the heart of Old Town San Diego. Despite its location right next to Interstate 5, we could not hear the freeway from within our room and it was quiet and comfortable. Most mornings there was some fruit and yogurt, there was always a selection of muffins, pastries and bagels - plus you can always make a waffle. The hotel is in line with the star rating, except for some quirks: soda machines are only at the reception and are rather expensive, the parking costs $10 extra and is very cramped. A low ground clearance car will hit the pavement upon entrance and exit from the courtyard.

A clean budget hotel. The immediate area is not very nice, but Old Town San Diego is only a few blocks away. Rooms facing the freeway are very noisy.

Rooms were comfortable and clean. Location was convenient for transportation to downtown. Only drawback was that both ice machines were broken.

This hotel is comfortable and clean. It's convennient because it has in-room microwave and frig, and breakfast is included in your stay. it's also close to all attractions. It has a pool and jacuzzi; however, the jacuzzi was out of order the last night we were there. We had a problem with the lever on the bathtub that redirects the water to the shower. […] We brought it to the attention of the staff, but it was never fixed. There was also no shower curtain or washcloths upon arrival. We were there over Labor Day weekend and had no problem with parking. Mehr

I thought the hotel was a great value. Small room but very comfy bed, friendly staff, we were upgraded for free to a king size bed thanks to a friendly manager. Breakfast room was pleasant and food selection was fine (better than most continentals). Selection of cereal, oatmeal, pastries, toast, fruit, boiled eggs, juices, coffee, yogurt. Great location […] if you are there for Old Town, the Zoo or Sea World. Quiet, no excessive noise. Good for small families looking for a bargain. Mehr

The hotel had easy on, easy off access to the freeway and was only a couple blocks walking distance from downtown Oldtown.

We found everyone helpful and ready to help with whatever we needed. the underground parking was tight but we always found a parking space. Hot tub in great condition as the poolwas. Good hotel for the money and quite close to Old Town. We were able to walk to Old Town and look around and have dinner. Freeway ramp is right there, so on and off the freeway was very convenient.

Where do we start? I generally don’t write reviews because I don’t care but this time I going to make a exception because I don’t want to any body experience the rip off. Starting with the price you expect a nice and comfortable service but we had a very bad experience here. First you have to pay 10 dollars per day for the parking and when we come […] back late night there was no place to park at until we finally got our car parked after an hour with too much trouble because the parking places are just for small cars, if you have other than that never mind and you better get prepared to get your doors mess up. Second day, you better get up at 7:00am so you can be able to get some of the “breakfast” that consist pretty much of cereal, waffles, coffee, milk bananas, apples and milk otherwise you won’t get nothing. Later on we didn’t the room cleaned so I called the front desk and the lady said that see can do anything about it, I ask her to clean it or give me another clean room and noting, I can’t she said, well at least give me clean towels and she answer you can come to get them because I’m the only one here. That’s ridiculous!!! Please do yourself a favor and avoid this “Hotel” if I can call it this way. Mehr
